Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Recommended Posts

As repugnant as Smuggar is, he seems to like his kids.  Up until Joshgate, Anna was a very involved and devoted mother, but after everything that's happened to the family, she does look stunned and checked out.

Anna was on track to outbreed Michelle at one point, but I hope Josh makes her realize this is not sustainable if they want any semblance of a decent life.

At least if Tabitha has been schooling the Littles, the Smuggarlings will still be learning and get to have school with their cousins. Home schooling may not be as successful when mama bear has PPD, marital issues, or other mental health problems. The dismal life of most uber Fundy women almost guarantees a sub par education.

I hear what you're saying Arwen Evenstar but we have to remember that Josh also seemed to like Anna and his sisters as well.  Plus he preached loudly about family values so I don't buy anything that he may seem to be at the moment.

Not defending Josh, just saying that he seems to care about his kids more than JB cares about his. Not sure if we can take anything Smuggs says or does at face value, but I think he wants a different upbringing for his kids than what he had.

i loathe his hypocrisy as well as his ideas about LGBTQ people, both are deplorable to me.

Her lip could be a cold sore, and I think Anna actually bites her lip while thinking as well. The rest looks like shadows.

And like the rest of you - shit happens. I opened a car door into my own face/eye. I swung a duffel bag over my shoulder and knocked out one of my kids teeth (It was loose and hanging by a thread, but still). This last winter my hubby slipped on an icy curb and was bruised from scalp to shoulder.

Cause you know, its a struggle.

I have broken my own nose and given myself at least 2 black eyes.  TOTAL klutz.  If I had a dime for every time I sprained my ankle I could live like a Duggar (no job!).

I sincerely hope that Josh hasn't hurt Anna, but to imply that he has is a really bad thing to accuse anyone of. Like everyone else, I'm going to assume she bumped into something or got kicked by one of the kiddos. KJB may be a slimy eel, but I know if he thought Josh hurt Anna, he'd serve his ass up to the police. He's not going to risk another cover up.

I'm always bumping into corners and furniture. I had to buy child safety corners for a cherished bookcase my beloved late father made for me.since it 's in a narrow hallway of our house and its corners (which I wish he'd rounded) kept assaulting my upper arms and leaving ugly bruises. I did not wish to see Mr Evenstar impugned for being suspected of hurting me. He'd never hurt a flea.

If Josh wants to continue cheating, I wonder who it would/could be with, and how it could be kept secret. He is under his family's noses now instead of off in DC. And they all have his number so I am sure they would notice any unexplained absences from home. He probably has 27 accountability partners at this point.

Where there's a will there's a way. I mean they can't lock him in the boys dorm, although that'd be funny.

I'm sure that would be about right. Pretty much everyone but Izzy and Spurge have been told to rat him out. 1 Flip Phone of Shame Plus 27 Accountability Partners and Counting. The fact that this whole family is okay with this 24/7 level of intrusion and thinks it's normal is depressing as all get-out.

And Anthony Weiner managed to carry on a 15 month texting conversation with a minor. Granted he had a smart phone but they can be had for cheap at Walmart or a convenience store. Maybe Joshley saved pennies and, because he is so "sly" managed to get one.

I wouldn't doubt it at all.  Smuggley Do Right is much too good at playing the long con.  If JB thought building houses and going to RU, which was basically another labor camp with no real counseling, was going to "cure" Josh, then he's seriously delusional.

Joshley has had a long term history of porn addiction and consumption. It's well documented that people continue to struggle with this issue, even with real therapy.  Since he has to do it on the sly, he might not need as much, but he's likely still getting his fix.  I doubt his sheltered bride is going to be down with or even would be skilled at doing the things Joshley wants, since I don't think any of it would be Dr. Wheat approved godly bedroom behavior.

I wonder what Anna does all day. It seems like she's checked out and just dumping the kids at the TTH for random strangers and stray Sister-Moms to raise. There's no way Tabitha is giving them a quality education. The Littles can barely write their names. When they lived in DC, it looked like Anna and Josh were going to take their children's schooling a little more seriously. It's amazing how quickly they reverted to type once they moved back into the Compound of Ignorance.

When one returns to the Stinkertoy House in disgrace, one likely cannot as for any special favors...such as a decent education for the kiddos.

But the materials must be available. For whatever that's worth. (see: Creation Museum, Noah's Ark)

Though what comes to my mind is, "Abandon all hope...".

But they'll always have the Old Testament.

Not a lotta hope there either. lol

I don't even really think they understand the Bible in any sort of context, other than parroting  what they've been told to believe or a literal interpretation.

I think SmugAnna would have given their kids a better education if they  would have been able to have left he Stinkertoy House for good. I'm sure every day, Josh knows he's forever stuck there. Is he plotting his escape?

I can't believe that the Duggar Family FB posted an anniversary acknowledgement for Smuganna. Disgusting.

Are you shitting me? Whoever called it that they're slowly working Smuggar back onto the show should give themselves a pat on the back right now. The Duggars have absolutely no shame.

Slow clap. This is clearly their little ploy to ease Smuggar back into the public eye. I called him being on air by next season. Sadly, it looks like I am going to be right.

And with that, I hope the show watches every hate-watcher, probably cutting the audience in half, and with advertisers dropping like flies, a quick, painful (for Jessa) cancellation.

It seems weird that they rehash the cheating in their message, though. Either they have forgiven him and they've all moved on, or they are never letting him forget it. Pick a side, Duggars.

That makes it much harder to manipulate the family into the message of the moment.

What the hell is wrong with these people? We don't want to see his pedophile face anywhere near the TV. Seriously, I think the only thing they see is the affair and porn which is bad enough but the child molestation? Uh...just no

Those were the mistakes of a young boy, remember?  (Nevermind that their age of accountability is 10.)  His sisters were asleep and didn't know even know it has happened until their parents told them (except for the ones that were awake as his behavior escalated and became more and more pervy).

Remember the Resurrection Tour? They have to work the pictures into their "story" so when they go on tour the leghumpers can believe that everything is because of God's loving guidance leading them to  sell more tickets. It's all in the "marketing" highly doubt Mullet gives two flying shits about Anna and her marriage.

You know, I had a philandering husband. And if my mother had the gall to post ANYTHING about it on her social media, I would have killed her.

Aside from JB and M, nobody in this group is allowed to have any personal authentic feelings and opinions about anything. And never has been. Ever. In their whole lives. So the 'rents here don't need to worry about reactions like yours.

Sickening.

Anna looked much, much better when Josh was away at Pray Camp.  She looks kinda stressed or sad or something. Maybe she is just humiliated daily at her life with that pig?

Redemptive Love? I'm gonna be sick. The Duggars are so gross to post that Vile Josh, smiling so smuggly. I realize he is their son and they probably love him and all tha.   But I have never met a person in real life who doesn't recoil in disgust when his name comes up.  I have pretty religious friends and everyone makes a face about Josh.  It's only the 100 wackos on FB who love him...probably living in a dirty house full of cat shit and heavily medicated. Crazy people support Josh.

Josh looks overweight, pasty, balding, smug and exhausted in that photo.  So...normal for him.

With Josh back home and underfoot, Anna has to figure out how to still be attractive and available to him, while also chasing after four kids, cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc.  I get the feeling that Josh doesn't do a whole lot of work around the house.  Plus, if he disappears for more than a few minutes, or takes off and doesn't tell her where he's going, she's got to always be wondering what he's doing.  And this is who she's stuck with for life.  That would make any woman stressed.
