I donated to St. Jude's several times, but they bombarded me with so much nonstop mail, I had to stop.

That's the problem with donating to a lot of national charities, they sell your address and you get tons of mail from other charities.  Charities shouldn't punish you for contributing to them.

honestly dont remember the point i was trying to make here guys :)

If I can presume to speak for @Colorado David, my guess is that it was in response to a post about a T-shirt that “saves lives” and it was intended to be parsed as “it is very ‘how i am great’-signing.

You know that annoying boner pill ad that's on all the time? "They are trying to shut down this legal loophole... " It's an AI voice. I just heard it used to narrate some Youtube vids. That insufferable smarmy tone is someone's intentional choice.

Same company that has the guy saying "do NOT buy generic Viagra..."

It's a shorter/cheaper ad, they just tossed the script into an AI

Rocket Mortgage has a commercial that features a woman singing Take Me Home, Country Roads.  There's something about the way the song transitions from the first singer to a singalong with a John Denver sounding lead that really irritates my ears.

The Pandora commercial with the adorable little girl also annoys my ears.  "She has my heart" and "my mother loves beautiful things" sounds so over the top coming from such a little person.  The little girl also seems to have a posh, British accent (it makes me wonder if the commercial was borrowed from the UK).

The Pandora commercial with the little girl annoys me how much she spent on her mother. My mother would have killed me if I spent that much money on a bracelet and charm for her. There's another commerical Harry and David with the kid giving it to her mom for Mother's Day. How is able to spend that much money? Their kids why aren't they making something for their mom? Or coming up with something creative.

it kills my heart hearing beloved songs sold to drug or car companies. make up your own gd jingles and stop stealing old song memories for effs sake.

The IPhone commercial with a very unattractive young man flexing his muscles.

I finally figured out what a big part of my problem is with that one (and there are so many problems with it!) -- the young man looks way way too much like Ben Stiller at the beginning of "There's Something About Mary."  It's the hair.  And his "shorts" are stupid, too.

I'm really hating on the Damp-Rid ad where a family comes into a house with a musty odor. Mom says, "The damp!" Dad says, "The damp!" Gran says, "Da-amp."  Kid says, "Da-amp," and promptly gets told by Dad, "Language!"

I hate it because it reminds me of the K-Mart commercial where it sounded like they were swearing (was it "shit my pants"?).

The Royal Kingdom commercial with Sofia Vergara taking over the yoga class with her stupid online game.  Bitch, people paid for that class and the instructor is probably paying for the venue.

I also hate the one where Johnny Galicki and Kaley Cuocco throw the board games, wifi router and tv out the window to play it.  Sure, forget interacting with other people, just stare at your phones for hours.

The Hellman's commercial with Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal reenacting the deli scene from "When Harry Met Sally." It's like they're engaged in a battle over whose face looks weirder now.

The older he gets, the more Crystal looks like Miracle Max.  Whoever did his makeup in The Princess Bride was spot on.

The Wegovy ad really irritates me.  It's the one where they talk about someone losing over 46lbs.  Why choose such a random number?  Just say over 45lbs and I wouldn't be bothered at all.

The chyron referring to 46 pounds says it is based on a starting weight of 232 pounds. I'd say the 46 pounds is based on a clinical trial.

ETA: The ad mentions losing 20% of your weight. 20% of a starting weight of 232 pounds is 46.4 pounds.

The dermatologist commercial with the young woman going on and on about her problems only for the dermatologist to interrupt that he's her dermatologist. So why was she spilling all her problems to him then? Is it suppose to be cute or funny? She comes off stupid.

Was this sppsd to be a "Ma'am, this is a Wendy's" moment?

I don't care about the random clinical trial they chose because it gave the best results, just say 'over 45 pounds' and I'll be fine.

see this dumb song i remember to this day, THIS is good advertising

You're right about it being memorable. As soon as I heard the first notes, it came back to me. That's an earworm I haven't had for decades, and now it's back. Gee, thanks a lot, @Colorado David! LOL.

and if i want to donate, great. if i want to announce that i am doing it by wearing the shirt, it kind of takes away from the niceness of the gesture. hey, look at me, i'm donating!

Yes! I don't need a "gift" in order to donate to a cause I want to support. I'd rather you save the money on the shirts, and the blankets, and the calendars, and the tote bags, etc. I don't need that stuff, so why not use that money toward the cause instead?

Okay, I've had it up to HERE with the  Wendy's "Son of Baconater" ad campaign. I do not get the point! Are we supposed to believe that they think we are going to hear "Son of a bitch" and that's why they scratch the sound? Because if that's what they are going for, we do not hear "Son of a...". We hear "Son of..." And in no world does that require censorship! Make it stop! Now there are two fast food places that I will never eat in even if they were the last restaurants on Earth. (Wendy's and Burger King, both for inflicting eardrum assault).

I'm so sick of Pete Davidson and his butthole eyes.  Why and how again is he even remotely popular?

I have no earthly idea.  It's rare for me to have such a visceral reaction, but I cannot stand the very sight of that guy.  YouTube keeps showing me that damn commercial where he says he's scared, but pronounces it "eh-skeered", and it never has the skip option, so I have to hope to grab the TV remote in time to hit the mute button.

The dermotologist commercial with the young woman going on and on about her problems only for the dermotologist to interrupt that he's her dermotologist. So why was she spilling all her problems to him then? Is it suppose to be cute or funny? She comes off stupid.

I think she’s supposed to signify GenY and GenZ people of today who are so incredibly vapid and tuned into only themselves and their selfish behaviors.

There’s one commercial for a drug used to fight AIDS, a horrible disease.  One guy comes sauntering up to another guy at a swimming pool and when he gets close all he does is stare at his crotch.  Then he constantly licks his lips like he’s ready to devour the guy.  I find this insulting.  I’ve lost far too many friends and relatives to AIDS for an ad agency to represent gays in that light.

Ugh. I keep seeing this Hellman's commercial for making a "I'll have what she's having" sandwich. 🙄
