I'm exposed to this multiple times every day on MSNBC:

First, who thought she would be a compelling spokesperson?

And second, is it just me or does the bird sound a little lewd?

Wow, that is a truly terrible commercial that I had not seen before now. So... thanks? 😉

One that drives me really insane? every time it comes on? is the one for Jacuzzi bath remodel? that "stars" Christina the vapid idiot from HGTV? who is unable to end a sentence without a question mark? and I always wonder why? no one told her to vary her inflection? and stop up-talking and inserting weird pauses?

Best I can figure is Christina has a damn good agent. She does not have even a decent tv presence.

She sounds just like the "porn stars doing commercials" from SNL that Vanessa Bayer was so good in.

Yeah, really.  As far as I know there isn't anyone who can stand her.  Why would Jacuzzi choose her to represent their product?

There is an Xfinity ad that bugs me and makes me sad. This older kid is talking to some younger kids about how lucky they are to be able to watch live sports whenever they want. He's a really nice kid and the other kids are so snotty and dismissive towards him. And mom just sits there and says nothing.

Xfinity is consistently in the annoy/irritate category for me.  They’ve gone to this same schtick - an early teen talking “back in my day” while one or more younger kids act like snots - for three or four different ads now.  Before that, their go-to was to feature a bunch of 20-somethings that Xfinity’s middle-aged marketing people thought were cool.

The one with the Medicare lady (Martha) has joined Cars for Kids (I refuse to indulge the intentional misspelling of Cars…another reason it irritates!) as a commercial that can irritate me even on fast forward.  Those glasses!

I think Martha is a hoot! I love her clown glasses. But then I'm a fan of slapstick comedy. 😉

The Liberty Mutual commercial with the woman who saved so much money that she opened a dog-walking business, thinking maybe that it would be just so easy. I suppose we’re supposed to think it’s zany and cute that she sucks at it. Maybe I’m just in a foul mood (no maybe about it, actually), but it’s just not funny. Those are people’s pets. People love their pets and would be horrified to learn that they trusted dumb, overconfident loser to care for them!

When I see this ad, I marvel at all the good dog trainers there are out there. These dogs are trained performers.

Ad itself doesn't bother me.

Is that the one where the dogs are going after a rabbit? I always wonder what the rabbit is doing there on the pier.

I thought perhaps it was a reference to greyhound races. Don't they chase a (fake???) rabbit? Do they even do greyhound races anymore? Seems like something only an old person like me would remember.

I hate it too. It gives me anxiety to think people are paying her to take good care of their beloved family members and she's just so completely incompetent. Can you imagine if your idiot dog walker told you she lost your darling baby?

just saw this for the first time today. Woman announces that the potatoes she's serving came from her garden. Is asked "is your garden in Idaho?" When she says "no" everyone acts like she's serving them maggots. And grandpa takes out his dentures and drops them in granddaughter's mashed.

SERIOUSLY? Not the way to have me have an improved opinion about russets grown in a certain state.

That Idaho potato commercial is awful.  And not because I hate potatoes, but on general principle -- These fools would rather have potatoes shipped from Idaho to wherever they are rather than potatoes freshly picked from the backyard?  Morons.

But Idaho potatoes are "Famous Potatoes"! (Plus, what else does Idaho have? We gotta give them a break.)

I'm getting annoyed with the Dominos commercial where the guy can't open the jar! Didn't his mama teach him the "burp it" method using the tip of a can opener under the rim???    Guess not, he has to use his "Emergency Pizza". Dummy!

I tap a knife against a jar, and if that doesn't work,  I  use a jar opener.

Subject:  I  would never be that far gone to want a pizza from Dominos.

Yeah, the point is there are multiple ways to very easily open the stupid jar. Is that guy so dumb he doesn't know at least one? Or is he just so dumb he really wants a Dominos pizza???

I had a jar (some kind of pasta sauce (I think; maybe it was roasted red peppers for sauce) once that just would not open no matter what I did, to the point where I knocked on my neighbor's door to ask him to do it. He couldn't either. I threw it away -- I probably just ordered Thai.

I don't think I've seen that commercial yet, but it sounds like he was using that as an excuse to have pizza for supper.

I constantly see the Serena Williams ad where a dad is teaching his daughter (presumably meant to be a young Serena) to float, while she's driving her car, and is able to let go of the wheel.

There's nothing inherently obnoxious about the ad, but I can't help but wonder why taking your hands off the wheel is a good idea, even if you can. Doesn't that just tempt people to do things they REALLY shouldn't do, like search for the thing they just dropped between the seats, or grab a glance at the text message they heard come in?

Can the ColoGuard people really not come up with a better song than one that not only rhymes “accomplishment” with “astonishment,” but awkwardly shoehorns them in where they don’t quite fit? They have too many syllables for the song, which is just My Way and surely can be parodied in a much more natural-sounding manner. Did they just think that these particular lyrics were just so great that they needed to be crammed in at all costs?!

Also, shut up, Home Goods people dancing in unison to that terrible Tom Tom Club song — especially you, smug-face lamp lady in the front.

I think he actually was making pizza! It looked like a jar of pizza sauce he couldn't open.

Another thing I have done when a jar just won't open is run just the lid section sideways under really hot water. Makes the metal expand just a tiny bit, enough to get the can opener to work, or even open with just twisting it.

I have arthritis in both hands so I need all the help I can come up with sometimes to open stubborn jars!

If her idea of heaven is shopping at Home Goods, you gotta wonder what her idea of hell would look like.

Never heard of that method.  We always used the "hit it a couple of times with a table knife" method in my house.  Breaks the seal really well.

It's not as much "dancing" as it's "sliding on a frictionless surface".

For the love of God . . .

Quack Doctor Lumé has come out with Mondo - for the smelly non-showering menfolk out there.  It's for their "pits, package, and feet."

And she's still too close to the screen.

Something is wrong with a world where the original hellish advertising for Lumé has apparently been successful.

I don't mean the lady at the beginning. I mean the lady at the end when there is a huge group of people dancing in a parking lot.

I am fairly certain they just put Lume into different packaging so it will appeal to the men folk.  Since an OB/GYN created Lume, as we've been told over and over again, while we get a view of her so close that we can count her pores, men may see it as a women's product.  Of course the gendering of products is silly; man-sized kleenex anyone?

I guess we can be thankful that the doc hasn't demonstrated how to use lume/mondo on your balls.  I don't need her discussing taint stench.
