Before Vatican II, all Protestants were considered heretics.

Vatican II completed its work in 1965, more than 20 years before Jeremy Vuolo was born.  Vatican II stated specifically that non-Catholics can and do enter the kingdom of heaven and that many faiths, including non-Christian ones, contain teachings and principles which are good and just.  It also encouraged all Catholics to study other faiths and to see the good in each of them.

My (non-Catholic) kids attended Catholic school. Religion class was required, including all four years at the high school level. In addition to CCD teachings, the students were also taught about other religions. I will add though, depending on the teacher, there were times biased comparisons were made toward other religions. I know this because from prior to entering Catholic school as non-Catholics, and periodically throughout their education, my kids and I had many discussions about respect of all religions and not personalizing any biased comments. One of my kids, a history buff, absolutely loved religion class.

Interestingly, my kids are not religious, though they always had the option to join any church, including the Catholic Church.

It too bad the Duggars have never had the same choice.

Are fundies not allowed to read anything that doesn't have God or Jesus in the title? For the Duggs and Dugg-adjacents, that appears to be the case.

Imagine trying to have a conversation with one of these folks. 'God' or 'Jesus' would be every other word. They don't know anything else.

Online, I always ask them “which ‘god?’ There are hundreds of different ‘gods’ worshipped around the world.” And that usually shuts them up, or throws them into a self righteous tailspin.

Such a pity that the girls still have to wear their cult-issued junior Handmaid’s costumes even while on vacation. I remember seeing groups of what I now know to be evangelical girls at amusement parks and at the malls, all dressed in long denim skirts, Keds, and Jesus Fest whatever year white t-shirts. I always wondered how uncomfortable it must be to ride a roller coaster in an ankle length jean skirt in 90 degree weather.
