Based on looks alone, I could buy this Victoria Konefal girl as Christina Baldwin, but I'm not married to it. She probably wants to try something outside soaps, though.

I don't regularly watch "Days of our Lives", I dip in and out, but I liked Vaughan as Eric.  And if Lucky came back and gave Laura more to do and got to be a dad to his sons and made Franco miserable, I'd be here for it.

Based on the synopses in the tv line article, it looks like mike may have finally died during the break. I think it’s the first new show where Carly comes ho,e to a devastated (or inconsolable) Sonny. Of course that could also be that he simply can’t find his shoe polish. Or ran out of tomatoes for his favorite pasta sauce.

I am totally fine with this. It gives Mike (and Max Gail) some dignity. I don't need a death-bed watch with an endless stream of teary visitors telling Mike how sorry they are that he and Sonny didn't have the best relationship. (Because of course Mike's death will be all about Sonny.) We'll get enough of that the way it is.

No, Willow's cousin isn't a thing.  I was just making a joke about Frank's tendency to snap up soap names and then cast them as nobodies versus legacy characters people want to see.

Okay, that's what I thought, then @dubbel zout mentioned this cousin too and I started to wonder... I didn't get much sleep last night, I'm a little slow on the uptake.

And word on there being so many legacy characters that could be brought on. Tommy Hardy, Lila Rae, Maya Ward and/or any siblings she might have, the Baldwin sisters, Jimmy Lee Holt's kids/grandkids. Even that rumored Stefan/Katherine daughter, though I wouldn't want that story without Stefan.

ETA. Speaking of slow on the uptake, I had trouble remembering the name of Edward's illegitimate son who wasn't Bradley Ward. I was all, "Coltin Shore...no. Decker Moss...no. Jimmy Lee Holt!"

Also, I'm still patiently waiting for Sasha to OD or something.  She's the last one standing of all of Michael's exes. I firmly believe that Nelle will survive long enough for them to somehow hatesex their way into another child or another marriage, or both.

Wait, so are these episodes they banked before the shutdown that they're now going to start airing to lead into the newly produed ones?  Or are they actually going to get an episode on-air next week a week after being production with all its restrictors?  Becuase the latter seems...like no, right?

It’ll be two weeks from tape to air (they went back to work last week and new eps start next week). Still a bit rushed, but certainly doable. They may sprinkle in some flashbacks from just before the shutdown to help fill the gaps until they have enough.

I feel like they probably do have one or two episodes banked from before too since they wanted to end on a Friday. They'll probably have those on Monday/Tuesday and then transition to the newly filmed on sometime mid-week.

Colton and Decker were Lucy's cousins, so they had that in common.

Same for Kelly and Steve in that first video.

I do wonder what the protocol is. Do they test everyone on set every day? Full-on nose swabs or like those machines they have at entrance of the hospitals that check you for fever? I would also assume that filming is significantly slower, assuming they're regularly sanitizing sets and dressing rooms, working with a reduced crew, etc.

I read a book about 30 years ago about two 10 year-old girls who started their own local neighborhood paper and of course it caused trouble (I recall much drama about fake letters to a fake gossip columnist) before they Learned a Lesson About Friendship And Honesty, and I'm pretty sure they were better journalists.

That's the list alright. 

For me, Lulu's the worst.  "I wrote a story about my kid's cafeteria, which is basically like going to journalism school, and now I'm writing about a serial killer who's my stepfather's brother and who stalked my best friend's mom - conflict of interest, never heard of it - and now I'm interviewing the former SERIAL KILLER who I believe stabbed me - why do you keep asking me if I know what conflict of interest is - and now I'm using my journalism powers to be a bitch to someone I don't like."

After that, is Kelly.  I will never forget her arriving at John McBain's apartment and saying she had to get to a court hearing to report on it and then her spending so long schoomping on John that she got to court AFTER the hearing was over.  Way to go, Lois Lane.

And then, Will.  Sleeping with the subject of your article is not good journalism, but when the alternative is Sonny, well...

I just hope they don't make Dustin go EVUL to facilitate the Dante/Lulu reunion.  I like having Mark Lawson on my TV.  Put him in a love triangle with Brook and Chase or something.

ETA...I really hope they have an actual story plan here.  I'm just thinking about how promising the Nik and Brook returns were and how quickly they both fizzled.

I will say she wouldn’t have been my first thought as a replacement. Of course, they temporarily replaced KS with Molly Burnett. Which I didn’t see coming either. Back in the day they used to go for lookalikes to fill in but GH goes in the opposite direction.

She'd be good on this show in any role.

Mark Lawson is still very beautiful and I loved Brody a lot but I can't cosign more OLTL alum on this show in pointless roles.

I know I'm not the only one questioning why the recast. But I don't think these shows should be taping period right now. Every soap has wasted this time not doing a hard reset and staying gone til it's safe. I hope Kelly is well.

Yeah, they were totally going in the direction Joss having the hots for teacher. I think it lasted and episode or two. I’m not sure who squashed it but I think it was for the best. Mark Lawson is an okay actor and Dustin is okay, too. The problem is he has no family ties and is kind of boring. I mean he’s a teacher on a soap. That’s hardly compelling storytelling. I guess bringIng back DZ might help but  then you have to care about LuLu in the middle which I don’t. I really wish JMB would come back. She was just so much glitter in the role. I know it won’t happen because ER is liked by production.

I mean, I don't mind a character without a family tie - to think, that's how popular characters like Sonny and Jax started out - but it's true there hasn't been much storytelling oomph with this character, in part I guess because story plans for him got nixed.  I mean, remember how we/Lulu met him?  She was investigating a series of robberies or some nonsense?  That ended up going nowhere, IIRC.

Anyway, I like Mark Lawson and I'm selfish so I want him to stay lol.  Hey, they can go back to my UK soap idea to make Dustin bisexual, you could put him in a triangle with alleged BFFs Brook and Lucas!

Thank Jasus and all the other saints for that. GH has proved time and time again it's absolutely hopeless at social/hot-button issues. And we all know the writers would take this in the grossest place possible. *shivers*

DZ returning is no surprise. Like others, I hope Dante gets a story that isn't all about Lulu "cheating" on him with Dustin. And let's not have him indulge Sonny's grief over Mike too much, either. (Mike dying might be why Dante is returning now.) And let Olivia calm the fuck down, though that's unlikely.

Dante pushed hard for a divorce, so I don't see him getting on Lulu's case for having a relationship, but I DO see Olivia pushing and pushing and PUSHING him to get back with Lulu.
