I know it won't happen, but I'm hoping she comes back, sees Der ButtBiscuit and just has to have him.  After all, her taste in men IS that bad.  And a Dummer plus, he could be folded up and fitted inside the Abbott cabin armoire and standing casket just like that dead husband of hers who I've forgotten about.

I'd love to see Phyllis lose her flying monkey boyfriend to her flying monkey daughter.

Doug is right. The writing blows and the actors know it. They’ve been portraying these characters for decades and know that history is not being honoured.

Two soap sites are citing a third site with the major rumor that Mishael Morgan (Hilary) is either leaving Y&R or is already gone. Contract negotiation issues, allegedly. I don't see this as good news. She's pretty much been holding the Winters et al storyline together and IMO Mal doesn't know how to write for them.

I very dimly seem to recall Dough D. (this is a typo but I kind of like it) tweeting how wonderful he thought MY is/was when Sally was forced out.  That said, good for him for speaking out now.  For the person who pointed out the ratings have been awful for years, please remember what damage  JFP and CP wrought before wrecking ball Young was given full control.

If this is true, what a shame to lose MMorgan.  It should have been a snap to write for one of the most beautiful actresses on TV.

Mal floves MM. I’d be shocked if she left but the ratings are in the toilet and when that’s the case TPTB tend to overrule the EP quite a bit.

Well, I hope Mishael isn't leaving. I was listening to the DC podcast earlier today, and they were talking about how MM should be used as the new young Jill character and not stuck within the orbit of just the Winters-Ashby clan. MM has been looking a bit like she may be pregnant IRL, though, so could it be that she just plans to leave since the odious plot used when she was pregnant earlier.

Well it seems she’s out then. CK was announced out and negotiated to stay (not sure how) but in this case, Twitter stans notwithstanding,  MM does not have the power to play hardball and win. The ratings are atrocious and her character has been front and centre. I don’t blame her for that (I quite like the actress) but the writing is so fucking awful no characters are currently likeable (watchable even) imo.

Without Hilary what hope does Devon have? Maybe Hevon will leave GC.

Seemed to me TPTB loved MM. The Hilary character has never been backburnered and even when MM was out on maternity leave they kept Hilary in a storyline (repugnant though it was). Assuming she actually is pregnant it looks like they were willing to write it into the show. Maybe disagreement was just about salary. Didn't it come out a while back that the suits were making everyone, even the vets, take pay cuts?

What I meant by TPTB overruling Mal is he  may be willing to pay big bucks for her but the higher ups look at the ratings and say nah. With the horrific numbers he’s pulling he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. This show plays hard ball with contracts as far as I can tell. I mean it was a decade ago when soaps were in way better shape that show was ready to let EB walk over $$.

They let BM go over contract issues.

She can be recast. Or replaced with a new AA character who hasn’t slept with Devon AND Neil. ;)

Or OTOH, like CBS/Y&R is either no longer willing to pay her what she's worth or didn't want to give concessions like letting her have time off to do other work. Assuming she wants to keep acting and not become a SAHM, I think she'll do fine and will have plenty of other options. For example, people like Shonda Rhimes and Issa Rae have scored big production deals on cable and will likely be looking for actors of color with proven track records like MM.

But who eventually will because the show is seeminly too cheap to cast multiple romantic interests who don't have to be shared between the only adult Black men on this show. (And on a related note, I'm still amazed Ravi wasn't passed down to Abby. Looks like Arturo will be the "lucky" one.)

I mean she’s early 30s, has a solid reel from show now and can try for a prime time career. This is the time to do it. Her age I mean. She can leave having made a statement that she’s worth more than show is offering.

Yes, I also wonder if she just felt (like MCE, who I don't like as a character or an actor) NOW is the time to try out for films and do prime time pilots etc. Sometimes you strike gold like Justin Hartley--who is not any better an actor than Mishael. If TPTB were willing to give her a REALLY sweet offer? Sure, she'd take it and start treating the gig as a long term career (I feel like she could have been the new Jill-type character in Genoa City and had years of great soap) but if CBS was going to lowball her may as well give it a try elsewhere. She was kind of at that crossroads.

Just looked it up. He started Jan. 2016. So he's been on almost 2.5 years. I'm guessing he signed a 3-year contract.

I love how she referred to her character as Hil, which I always did, but I don't think anyone on screen has done.

She will do well, she is making the right move.
