Gandalf's always been a bit of a horndog...and, if you're him, every woman in Bell-A except Stephanie is "readily available and younger."  That said, Quinn is wearing a pretty big scarlet letter right now because of the brouhaha with Liam and Gandalf's generally tried not to stick it in crazy...so unless this is some sort of epic hallucination of Quinn's, I desperately need the show to explain this one.  It's just too bizarre.

And I do find it funny and a little telling that Steffy gets to be actively reactive, so to speak, when she's dealing with Quinn...but with Liam (and often with Wyatt) she's just a largely-coiffed pet poodle or something.  As is Brooke to a lesser extent WRT Bill, and Caroline WRT Thomas and Ridge...what are you trying to tell us, show?

I haven't been watching closely (when I bother) but have they ever even had a Dr look at Liam?  He is such a Pollyanna. Was the last real decision he made to show up in Bellay? He is almost Hope now. Injured, kidnapped, raped and rescued by Wyatt. However she would have been coddled on her return, not ignored. So he isn't your typical Mary Sue. As for Wyatt he will be the favorite son only as long as he's with Steffy.

Belatedly: Liam did indeed go to see a neurologist about two weeks after he got rescued from Quinn's cabin.  Got a clean bill of health, too.

And suddenly it occurs to me: is whomever Bill deems as his favorite son contingent upon proximity, or upon their relationship with Steffy?

I don't have a super long history watching this show, but, from what I've gathered from the soap magazines over the years (I have this OCD habit of reading them cover to cover, even for the shows I wasn't watching at the time), it's not really out of character for Eric to allow himself to be blinded by some readily available, pretty younger woman, is it?

Quite true. Plus, he and Quinn had a brief flirtation (I think they even kissed) either right before or right after he was with Taylor this last go round (so...3 years ago?).

  • Love 4

I was sort of spoiled by Michael slogan but didn't understand his Twitter post. As far, as a tv cliffhanger reveal it was pretty shocking. Now, for a storyline it's kind of gross. I know Eric needs sex 24/7 but was Donna busy? LOL!!! Why would Eric want to get involved with Quinn after everything she has done in the past 6 months? Quinn & Deacon have good chemistry but BB refuses to commit to them. Maybe, he just isn't into Sean Kanan and he needed Quinn to have a love interest so it's John McCook to the rescue. He's a great looking guy for his age but I have no vested interest in Eric boffing Quinn.

  • Love 6

Eric and Quinn out of nowhere is just like Thorne and Taylor being back together out of nowhere to provide angst for Aly- done to supposedly raise the stakes in whatever plot they're 'setting up'. In this case Eric is going to be lonely, horny, and dumb to be banging Quinn when Donna organically would happily fill that role for him and given Quinn's crimes -including her part in Ridge's accident, he shouldn't want her anywhere near him. Instead she's somehow snookered him so Steffy can have angst and not only have Quinn as a mother-in-law but possibly as her new grandmother.

I don't get this show- they'll spend months building a story only for a weak to no climax in the end or pull a swerve out of nowhere- Bill and Brooke blackmailing Ridge, then backtracking, Bill wanting Brooke back, then backtracking, Eric with Quinn- that makes no sense.

I think TPTB think they're upsetting expectations and being unpredictable. All they're doing is jerking the fans around and not making a lick of sense.

  • Love 10

When Brooke told Bill, "I'm already gone," I fully expected the next words out of her mouth to be that she was getting back together with Ridge.

That final scene with Katie and Bill was pretty powerful with no spoken words, however, I'm not sure what message they were trying to convey. Katie is now OK? Bill is going to leave Brooke alone? The marriage is healed ...

That seedy hotel room, apartment, whatever is was that Quinn let herself into reminded me of the set used as the "love shack" Donna and Eric had several years ago. (Who can forget Eric standing stark naked on that narrow window ledge desperately covering his willy and getting pelted with pigeon shit?)

Don't forget that Eric fell prey to Shelia Carter. I still contend that her level of evil and crazy makes Quinn look minor league in comparison. I guess we can give Eric a pass because the BSC didn't start to unravel until after he and Sheila had tied the knot. However, during their courtship, there were enough red flags to force the Running of the Bulls to a screeching halt. EVERYBODY was suspicious of Sheila. Lauren Fenmore, Stephanie and even Sheila's own mother tried desperately to rat her out her misdeeds to Eric before it was too late. It was either a reaction of him being too stubborn and love-blind to believe what was being said to him, (Stephanie was written off as being "jealous") or Sheila got to Lauren or Mom and even Stephanie beforehand.

Yeah. I don't get this either, but I think this might be leading to some convoluted plan of Quinn's to somehow get back at Steffy via Eric. I mean that's the only thing that makes remote sense to me, but this show has long since discarded any semblance of logic. Your guess is as good as mine.

And with Quinn, we're seemingly going to forget her obsession with Liam and she's just happily sexing up Eric now, with no build-up of that relationship and no winding down of her "love" for Liam or her relationship with Deacon.

Unless that scene was just wishing thinking on Eric's part, I was surprised too. Not that she's with someone, but that it was Eric...although they DID have a brief flirtation. As for Liam, there's only so many times you can bang your head against a wall before you realize that stopping feels much better. As for Deacon, she may have thought she loved him, but it was more of a mutual partnership (in her mind) than a true love interest.

I'm not opposed to an Eric/Quinn relationship. Eric's not a monk and it could be a very interesting relationship...giving Rena an actual storyline!

Someone needs to feel my forehead because watching Ridge and Brooke these past few days, I didn't hate them.

Not even a little.

I liked their honest, judgment-free conversation about their mistakes. Despite the fact that the actors have had very little screen time together, since TK took on the role, they really brought a sense of history and genuine caring for one another as only a couple with their history can.

And what's this? An admission from Ridge that he was wrong? And his King Ridge comment? Careful, TK, I might actually start to like you.

While I didn't like Ridge fighting Brooke's battle against succumbing to $Bill because she is a grown up, my girl certainly isn't acting like a grown up these days. The most mature she was was during her conversations with Ridge. I appreciated that he stuck around after she told Bill it was over because she was "already gone" (queue up this little ditty by the lovely Kelly Clarkson):

Now all of that is not to say that I would welcome a Bridge reunion because I have told myself that the day I get back on the Bridge is the day the 4 horsemen come riding by, but I am open to them being friends and who knows what the future may hold?

It's certainly a far better proposition than Brooke being relegated to being Bill's side piece, sharing stolen moments while the porn music plays in the background, before he goes home to Katie and Will, the image of the perfect family man and spending the rest of her life on the fringes of his life. Brooke deserves better (Katie, as much as she bugs, does, too) so I honestly can't see Brill ever working out at this point. Let's hope she sticks to her guns and tells Mr. Have His Cake and Eat It, Too that the bakery is CLOSED.

It seems Ridge had an epiphany of sorts when he was standing on that staircase - whatever it was, I like the change in him, although I don't like how he was so willing to change his view on Rape Night and side with Thomas' version of events. Brooke calling him out on Douglas' natural parents raising him was spot-on and while I didn't like Ridge's high-handedness with Douglas, I don't want that rapist anywhere near Caroline or Douglas. Plus, his expecting Caroline to just drop Ridge so they can play one big happy family? Is exactly the same sort of tyrant behavior he excused Ridge of displaying. Ridge is older and, from what I've seen these past few days, wiser and knows better.

Thomas is just a delusional fool.

Speaking of fools, call me oh-so-SHOCKED that Quinn is hooking up with Eric. Except I'm not. I had to snicker at the "suspenseful" reveal of Quinn's bed partner. The toenails gave it away in a nanosecond. JMc is a fine looking man but please, don't ever show me gross toenails again, show. It's clear Quinn will stop at nothing to eff with Steffy and even though I can't stand the Bratz doll, this is getting really, really old and tiresome.

But hey, at least we're being spared from the Nicole/Zzende Zzzquil commercial.

I want Quinn's blouse!  So how long do you suppose Q&E have been *clutch the pearls* doin' it?  Off and on for months...years?  I've only been watching since Nov '14 so there's a LOT I've missed (duh) so I love it when y'all mention backstories.  Never saw RMRidge, Stephanie, Donna, Sheila...etc.

Am liking the show right now.  RME a lot but it's interesting.  I'm a fan of SC , SK & TK from other soaps so they keep my attention.  Love RS and being a woman of a certain age JMc is fine.

There's usually some build up into it, though, and I'd hoped he'd pick someone that hadn't "ruined" two of his grandaughters' lives.

More aggregating in this  instance is how Quinn is written. Not only is her grand relationship to Deacon kaput for no reason, but so is her obsession of Liam. What was the point of Captive Cabin if nothing of value was lost (or won)? Oh, Steffy and Liam split up? Big deal. That's known as Tuesday. Who bloody cares?

Since Quinn and Liam's idyllic tryst at the cabin, TIIC have been using Quinn as a Jack-in-the-Box to periodically motivate the Liam/Steffy/Wyatt triangle SL toward its inevitable end. Quinn pops up inappropriately a couple of times at Liam or Wyatt's home; there's a big declaration of love, declaration of disgust, never darken my door again, and Steffy makes noisy demands while trying to move her facial fillers into an angry grimace.

They all have a legitimate beef with Quinn. She presumptuous, rude, obsessive because she's alone and lonely without Wyatt (Deacon is best out of Quinn's orbit), and thinks staying away for a week of episodes heals all wounds.

I expect if the story needs Quinn to get all schmoopy over Liam or defend Wyatt's marriage against Liam entrancing Steffy with his siren Song of Mediocrity, Quinn will jump out of the bushes to cover Liam with lovey dovey or remove his liver with a convenient potato peeler.

Quote

Oh well. I guess Steffy's head exploding when she fids out will be worth the price of admission.

It would be glorious to see the whole clan go berserk with Eric escorting Quinn into the foyer of the Forrester Mansion.

Good times.

Sheila worked the long game. She was calculated, planned and plotted for years to be six moves ahead of her targets. It was when her plans were coming to their conclusion, her crazy tripped her up with limited success for her original plan.

Quinn's plans, such as they are, seem more opportunistic and random. Pushing Ivy into the Seine, Hope falling down the garden stairs when Quinn was trying to talk to her, Liam passing out in the Forrester parking lot were all instances where Quinn was a participant but due to opportunity, not specific design. With her successes or failures, Quinn zigs and zags as the situation warrants to maintain momentum of her goals -- Wyatt winner of the $Bill Spencer Sweepstakes and married to Liam's former lovers.

Quinn and Eric schtupping seems to be one another of those opportunities that literally fell into her lap. She contacted him for advice on her jewelry designs, and Eric ends up with a key for SexxxyTimes convenience. Who taking advantage of who? It looks like it's mutually beneficial. They know their shortcomings and weaknesses, and what a mess it would be if their affair became public knowledge. He leaves the key behind, but neither of them are very adept at letting go when a good thing has run its course ... TIIC have the same problem.

  • Love 7

Even with all of $Bill's hypocritical pontificating lately, today I was firmly on his side and was cheering, "Divorce the Cah-ray-ZEE beotch!" How much more of Katie's lunatic ranting is he supposed to take? At least when she's been drinking, it's sorta, kinda (but not really) easier to justify. Not today. Wasn't it just last week when she calmly (and soberly) conceded and told Bill and Brooke to be together? Now today, she's threatening to take him to the cleaners if he leaves her for Brooke. Pick a lane. She's needs to one last heart attack and die.

If there was ever an opportunity for a montage/flashback, it was today when Eric was reminiscing about his past love disasters. I would have loved to have seen the shot of him standing naked outside Donna's window, in the fucktub with Jackie, and Shelia marching down the runway in that godawful equestrian wedding get-up complete with the riding crop. Instead, didn't we get some glimpse of Liam and Steffy (again?) In fact, I think Steffy got her idea for the veil part of her Aspen wedding get-up from that design.

Was it ever explained what Liam needed $5,000 in quick cash for or was it just an excuse to snoop around Bill's office? I didn't quite follow that part.

I'm glad that Brooke is sticking to her guns by turning Bill down, but I wonder how long her resolve will hold out?

Looks like Steffy has a target on her back. Let the games begin!

Wyatt has asked Quinn to not do things for years - and even after she changed after her stint in the mental hospital - and she has never ever respected his wishes. And she's doing it again. And all he'll say when its out about Queric is 'Moooooom, you promised!' The only way Wyatt will ever see Quinn for what she is is when one of her schemes gets him killed.

Quinn ran right over to Eric's place after looking her son in the eyes and promising she would leave Steffy and her family alone. I don't feel sorry for her for Eric using her because she's using him as well. I feel sorrier for the lonely old man who is so desperate and no longer gives any damns he's sleeping with a woman with Quinn's history. Eric needs to go hang with his brother and have exotic adventures away from LA.

Latie is definitely on the table. Liam was doing the drop by check up and Katie was sending out those I'm vulnerable vibes. Thomas' comment about Steffy/Liam is to throw us off I think.

Liam peeking into the nap room was hilarious. He should've just opened the door so it's all out and Bill knows that he's pwned. If this was like when Sami on DAYS saw Marlena and John and Liam snapped and became the son from hell to make Bill's life hell that might be worth it.

The actor that plays Thomas recently said in an interview about all his shirtless scenes on the show that he's worked hard for his body so please oogle away! His character may have issues, but I do like the actor. Wish the show did better by him.

  • Love 7

Seriously? That's how Brill gets found out? Liam waits for Allison to leave her desk, and then finds that genius $Bill didn't lock his office, mistake #1, or the "nap room", which I thought he did, but I was eating lunch and may have missed a few details, but we'll call that mistake #2? Ugh, $Bill is no saint & this ain't his first cheating-rodeo. He knows Liam is sniffing around, & Katie is just looking for an excuse to blow up his world, no plausible way he wouldn't cover his tracks better. Are they angling for Liam/Katie for the fireworks from all sides? I think I could be down for that, but please, no more Mopey Katie. She needs to be less broody & a bit lighter; she does have her brother's heart, you know. Brooke reminded us today.

This is from yesterday, but quite possibly the saddest thing I've ever seen on our show was Wyatt, blissed-out, post-coitus, sleeping peacefully with an almost-smile, while his loving wife lays beside him, then later on him, recalling all of her memories with his brother. Poor dude, even though he completely brought it on himself with the insta-love & insta-marriage, he's just so clueless & sad.

  • Love 4

They have the most lax security I've ever seen. And Quinn talking about how he was the most kind and blah blah man was exactly what she said about Liam. Damn near word for word. I just can't with this show. Eric is too desperate and Quinn is probably using him to get back at Steffy. He's just as senile as ever. It makes no sense for him to get tangled up with a somebody like her. Still thinking with his lower body after almost 30 years. SMH.

  • Love 5

Mind you, this is the same Eric Forrester who banged one son's ex fiancee after they'd barely broken up when she lost his would-be grandchild, and the other son's ex not even a week after it was revealed she was using said son to get back at Stephanie. And when I say "not even a week," I mean that literally....the next week after Stephanie disappeared Eric and Donna are snogging each other with no questions from the old goat. They went to to become one of B&B's most functional pairings, but that's besides the point.

So yeah. It's entirely believable that he couldn't be too fussed about the damage Quinn has allegedly brought on to Steffy's life (I say allegedly cuz no one forced her to turn to Wyatt, but still).

It would be hilarious if his attitude about that whole thing was basically that Quinn did Steffy a favor by steering her away from the jackass Eric had watched waffle back and forth between Hope, Steffy, and Ivy.

I loved Brooke's outfit and she would have rocked it with chin/shoulder cropped hair that is so much the style now!  Wow, Steffy's braids pulling her already tight skin even tighter highlighting her stationary face.  Watching her trying to purse her lips to drink bottled water was priceless.  And Victoria is braided today too!

I liked Katie and Liam together and Katie with a cute smile was a nice change!  Bill and his just one more time whine to Brooke while she does yet another eye squint?!

Another Emmy Award performance by the partially open door. Bravo!  Liam must have bionic hearing because, according to Bill, it's soundproof in that he told Brooke that no one could hear us.

Steffy, just go back to Liam and do us all a favor. I'm sick and tired of all the montages where you only remember the good times.  You and Liam deserve each other.  Mother-in-law from hell, well maybe, but if your Liam crotch itch wasn't burning than you wouldn't think so.

I would love to see the look on all the hypocrites faces when Eric puts up Quinn's at portrait Forester Mansion.  After all, is Quinn any less manipulative than Stephanie, Brooke, or Maya?  After today, I find Bill the most manipulative and thirstiest off all.

Thomas, what the fuck is your problem.  Just go back to Douglas, the baby you just cannot be without, and mind your own friggen business.  Liam doesn't need you to give him a BJ.

Bill basically hounding Brooke---one more time, one more time, one more time. OMG. She kept turning him down and I was starting to wonder if there was going to be a rape scene. Seriously. Of course, in the end she gave in. Yuck. I don't think Brooke could get any squintier.

It's really disturbing and impossible not to notice.  Do the writers actually want these scenes to have this quasi-rapey vibe?

Ladies, help me out here.  Do you actually work out or go to the gym with 3 inches of makeup on your face like Steffy had on in today's ep?  She looked ridiculous.

I also noticed what looked like smeared or runny hair color all around her hairline. Maybe the stash of Kiwi shoe polish has now migrated from RM to DD and now JMW!

I thought it was about time that the women got equal time showing off their buff bods. You could tell JMW was really working out, too. Usually, the guys just stand around and do a few leg raises or bicep curls, or lie on the bench and get in the position to do a press, then the camera cuts to them gingerly toweling off sprayed on water/oil "sweat." /eyeroll. She was going for some major burn there.

For some reason, John McCook didn't look as good as he usually does. It looks like he trimmed both his beard & hair. It made him look older. That said, he really should have a mature actress as a love interest. I get that BB is trying for the shocking angle but I want Eric with an actress like a Jane Elliott or Dedrie Hall. A mature woman who happens to be smart, beautiful & charming. Is there an available actress not tied to another soap who could fill that role? Linda Dano? Kim Zimmer?

I'd love for them to bring Leslie Ann Down back! They were great together and didn't get nearly as much time together years ago.

Oh, lord, I would love to see Jackie pop up just on general principle--but, yes, her and Gandalf's relationship never really got to be one back in the day as well as they clicked together.  Bringing her back would mean addressing her relationship with Owen and Bridget, though, and I'm not sure I want to see the show try to gloss that over.

Which brings me back to his DL thing with Quinn...which apparently has been going on for a little while, AIUI? And it just started out of the blue?  Even after watching Thursday's episode I still don't really know what was up with that.  Did Quinn approach him at some point?  Did he her?  Did I miss the wrong piece of dialogue?
