mojoween February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Holy cannoli out of all those nominees Mark Rylance was probably the least likely to win, yeah? 1 Link to comment
bmoore4026 February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 And the award goes not to Rocky but to some guy I've never heard that was in a movie no one saw. 2 Link to comment
Bandgeek77 February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 How badly does it hurt to be named Mark and not win that award? Poor Ruffalo, that's probably hard to not react to that with joy, then despair. 3 Link to comment
ByaNose February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Sly got Micahel Keaton-ed. Bummer! 1 Link to comment
anyanka323 February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 I was pulling for Hardy, but thrilled for Rylance. He was excellent in Wolf Hall which aired on BBC in the UK and PBS in the US last year. 4 Link to comment
jah1986 February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Wow, I feel bad for Sly, that's a big upset. Link to comment

Sew Sumi February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Upset! I also thought Sly was a lock. Dave Grohl alert, y'all! Bottoms up! 2 Link to comment
thuganomics85 February 29, 2016 Author Share February 29, 2016 Now, I'm actually shocked. I know Sly was the favorite, and I thought Tom Hardy was the outsider, but it was Mark Rylance instead. I did hear he was great, so good for him. I had no idea that Tom Hardy was married to Charlotte Riley. I just Netflixed Peaky Blinders months ago, so remembering them both showing up in the second season kind of amuses me. Link to comment
irisheyes February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 I loved Rylance in Wolf Hall and still believe he got totally screwed at the Emmys, so I'm so happy he won! 7 Link to comment
Minneapple February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Whoa, that's the first big surprise of the night! I figured Tom Hardy or Mark Ruffalo. I enjoyed the Girl Scout cookie bit (although, UNFAIR to all those little Girl Scouts sitting out in the cold in front of the grocery stores and Walmarts trying to sell their cookies!) and the man on the street bit. 1 Link to comment
wallflower75 February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 I almost thought it was Mark Ruffalo. That's mean to to him to have another actor with such a close name. lol For a second, I thought that's who had won--and then the camera went to Rylance. Not that I was disappointed--I liked both performances and would've been happy had it been Ruffalo. 2 Link to comment
Spartan Girl February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Poor Sly. If Leo gets stiffed like that, I will be pissed. 2 Link to comment
Misslindsey February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Is it bad that I like upsets? It makes things more exciting for me, especially in a telecast that is already too long. That said, I would have liked to see Sly win, but I liked all the nominees in this category so I am cool with it. 3 Link to comment

Fostersmom February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Or want to be in Girl Scouts? He's been claiming the youngest isn't his, she was never adopted, he doesn't know how his wife got her. Uh, yeah, your wife shows up with a 6 month old South African child, has to go back to South Africa with her once a year, she lives in your house for 7 years, and you don't ask? 2 Link to comment

onthebrink03 February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Mark Rylance!!!! Woohoo!!!!! Seconding this Woohoo! I am thrilled for Mark Rylance. Brilliant actor and he was excellent in Bridge of Spies. 9 Link to comment
VCRTracking February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Shocked that Sly didn't win but honestly? That guy from Bridge of Spies benefits more because he's going to get a lot more work after this. The awards can really benefit a non-famous character actor. 1 Link to comment
random chance February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 I liked the Inside Out guy's speech. One of the better ones of the night. Agree! It's so cool (and rare) when the winners actually talk to the audience instead of just their little Hollywood circle. 5 Link to comment

Misslindsey February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 I doubt there would be an upset with best actor. I think Leo is a lock. I have not really enjoyed Leo in a lot of his later movies. I hated Titanic. I would love a Bryan Cranston win, but it is so going to Leo. 1 Link to comment

CherryMalotte February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Louis CK is one of the best intro's ever....and I know that the film that won is showing on HBO currently if you want to catch it. They are really keeping this show moving moving moving...which is great. 2 Link to comment

thuganomics85 February 29, 2016 Author Share February 29, 2016 Daisy Ridley is so beautiful that I almost didn't have time to be fascinated by Dev Patel's beard and shaggy hair. New role or is he just trying something new? 1 Link to comment

I will have sooooo much schadenfreude if he loses. So much. No it'll be worse, because it he doesn't we'll be subjected to another year of another Dicaprio movie that the public will be forced to speculate if this is the one that will win it for him. Let him win now so that we don't have to be subjected to another film that's "Oscar worthy." And lately they're getting less subtle and more desperate with its "look at me" moments. 4 Link to comment
wallflower75 February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Louis C.K. FTW!! As for any more upsets--not gonna happen. I suppose there's an outside shot in Best Actress, but really, Brie's had that award sewn up for a while now. Leo's due, and by all accounts he gives a great performance. Despite the warm fuzzies we might've felt for Sly getting this nomination for the role that brought him to our attention forty years ago, can anyone honestly say they felt he was due? *runs from rotten tomatoes* 3 Link to comment
anyanka323 February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 The year was a good year for documentaries. I teared up when watching Amy. I caught Lisa Vreeland's documentary on Peggy Guggenheim this weekend, which is a worth seeing if you have any interest in art or postwar American culture. 1 Link to comment

While that may be true, I am great at avoiding all of that crap. I would rather the whole Internet meme be true and he never wins, but the person who plays him in a future documentary about him wins for their performance. 8 Link to comment

thuganomics85 February 29, 2016 Author Share February 29, 2016 (edited) Of course, they didn't answer the real question which is who donated the most. I mean, besides "Suge Knight." Hey, why else am I here if not to judge actors and actress for how much money they are willing to give to the Girl Scouts. Edited February 29, 2016 by thuganomics85 3 Link to comment
