Episode Discussion: TFGH

Having Anna plan the phone bugging with Sonny, and having Emma hug Sunny 'cause her Mommy told her to do it gave me a nauseating rage headache. Anna, former Super Spy and Heroine Extraordinaire, is devolving into a Mob hanger-on and cheerleader indeed. I hate the flirty way she and Sonny look at each other across the room while in cahoots, and the hug from Emma was Show's way of trolling those of us who remember what Sonny did in the past.

Boy - am I glad that my DVR failed to record yesterday's episode.

It's the Michael part of those scenes that angers me. Michael's potential being ruined so he could crawl up Sonny's ass again makes me ragey.

It's not that he's crawled up anyone's ass. It's that the new writers have decided that the previous year never happened, and they've made him the babysitter of PC lately.  I mean he's either holding Avery, comforting Sonny/Carly, and holding Joss and Morgan's hands.  What a waste!  Why isn't Michael visiting Tracy in the hospital?  Does he even KNOW she's in the hospital?  The writers of GH love to play around with the character of Michael and just constantly change his motivations.  It's annoying.

Kiki: you were the first man I ever loved?

First of all, "man"? Second, and then she loved his brother WAY more. Sorry show, you shoved their love down our throats for two years, I'm not gonna forget it.

Exactly - and the same point I made above regarding Michael.  The audience remembers previous storylines even though new regimes try to rewrite everything, and yes, it's still annoying.  Kiki would probably still be with MIchael if he hadn't dumped her for lying to him.  Then again, these new writers seem to have Michael being okay with Sabrina's lying, which brings me back to "Do previous storylines and events even matter to writing teams anymore?"

Especially when Wally showed up. I grinned like an idiot. He MUST stay. I know he may enjoy doing both shows, but Days is so boring. I have tried to get back into that show and it's SO dull, GH, messed up as it is, is leagues better. Days  isn't using him, and GH lights up with him on.

Seriously, it was like watching clouds part when he walked into his mother's hospital room.

Best.Moment.Of.The.Week.  I LOVE me some Wally, and he just makes GH better when he's on it.  I agree.  Forget about DOOL and just come back full time to GH, and HOPEFULLY, the writers won't let Wally slip through their fingers.  They are so anxious to sign new characters/actors and let the vets go or relegate them to the background.

Exactly! Griffin is a fraud! I'm convinced of this now more than ever.

Is it me or is the character just so damn earnest?  I read the theory that maybe Griffin was a priest in an earlier life and then became a doctor.  I can actually see that as a possibility.

Emma was told to hug Sonny? The man that traumatized her as a tot when he SHOT HER MOTHER IN FRONT OF HER? No.

I haven't watched in ages, full disclosure. So since I didn't actually SEE this atrocity, it NEVER HAPPENED.

Considering that Joss is propping the man who repeatedly tried to murder her father (because he blamed him for Brenda leaving him) to the point where Jax faked his death and was on the run, I guess no one should be surprised. All Pod People love the Pocket Mobster.

The Metrocourt needs to post a sign at the check-in desk that the owner reserves the right to enter any room at any time just because.

Y'know, since Housekeeping does more than deliver towels and Carly is filling in because of the whole lizard thing, does this mean she's cleaning the good doctor's toilet, too?  'Cause that, I'd enjoy viewing.

What kind of boss is she, anyway, that she can't get the housekeeping staff to do her bidding?  Mmmm, probably as good as she is a mother, I'm guessing.

I don't know. I kinda like Carly and Dr. Michael Easton. LW sparkles in scenes with him, and ME is alive in this role. It's nice for me. And Carly promised to actually knock instead of barging in. It was nice. Plus, he hasn't shot her nor any of her kids, plus he's not a mobster. It's kinda working for me so far, plus no mentions of Avery nor Kiki. And they're really pretty together. I like it.

We are on opposite shores on this one. I haven't watched the scenes yet, but I have no doubt they probably were sparkly.

So is a jagged piece of glass, though, and both the glass and a Canny pairing are equally scary. Carly is a MAN EATER. So unless that lizzard of his can swallow a woman whole, Finn is at an automatic disadvantage.

Then, there's the fact that so far, I like Finn, and while I adore LW, I cannot stand Carly. There's also the fact that as others have said, cutesy Carly is pukesy Carly. No to that, thanks in advance.

We have a quirky, at this point could do or be anything kind of guy in Finn. I want to see where the writers are going, and see how he develops, before they even seriously try to pair him with someone. I don't mind a friendship with them, I guess.

But I still want my Tracy/Finn friendship, too, because IMO the two of them are really the only unabashed truth tellers in town. I need some tag team smackdowns, dang it. With arsenic sauce.

Not to defend Sonny because that would make me puke but I was watching when he shot at Jax and hit Robin. I remember Emma being upstairs asleep at the time. Am I misremembering?

You're partly right. Emma came down at the very last minute because of the noise and came down just in time to see the shrapnel hit Robin and when Patrick came home she said "Sonny shot mommy" or something like that.

OMG, Griffin is Duke's son! Who knew?

You know who doesn't know?  Lucas (who?).

He probably does know, but we'll never hear about it because Lucas is too busy walking Kristina through her sexuality crisis. Lucas will never have a story that doesn't involve teh gay. (Even though in this case, it actually makes sense.)

"Mommy got shot."

I cheered Emma ratting Sonny out because her mother wouldn't have.

If Sam (and Jason) figure out the truth behind Hayden's shooting and help Hayden to use that as blackmail against Nik for getting ELQ back, it wouldn't fix all of the problems with the Sam/Nik angle of The Big Jason Lie, but it would be a start.

Such lazy writing. Today's show has actual outdoor scenes with Alexis and Julian. So far so good. However!!! This is supposed to be upstate NY, April 1. Now down here in western MA the trees are bare and grey, no foliage is growing anywhere, and while the snow is gone, the grass is hardly lush and green. Now up in Port Charles - near the Canadian border I assume - it looks like mid July, with leafy trees, lush plants and grass, everything except flower gardens blooming. I realize that the studios are in Los Angeles, but their show is set in northern NY, and those two climates are worlds apart at this time of year. In fact, snow is predicted here in a day or two. A little research on the writers' parts would be nice now and then.

The scenes with Alexis and Julian looked part location, part green screen to me.

LOL that it's a new habit that Jason is regularly working.

Good for Curtis for putting Dante in his place. Dante has no reason to butt in.

So Nik, knowing for sure that Hayden knows he tried to have her killed by hiring someone to shoot her in the head but married him anyway, for reasons, still shows no remorse for shooting her, and has the nerve to rage about her betraaaayyaaaal?

And we are supposed to feel sorry for Hayden lying to him why?

Did anything really happen today?

Lucas and Brad set a wedding date for May.  Of course, their "storyline" was reduced to an off-hand mention while Lucas was playing a supporting role in the storyline of one of Sonny's kids. #whatever

"Don't talk to me about respect"  Oh snap! Dante's gonna need to go to the shriner's hospital to get that burn treated.

(I love you Curtis. Don't fuck it up by becoming a Sonny apologist)

If Nik is so concerned for Spencer's financial future, why did he not put money in trusts for him? So much for the vaunted Cassadine businesspeople. SO DUMB.

OMG I HATE NIKOLAS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if today was the show intended to be the anniversary show, there was some good.

Most of the plots had something to do with love, which is kind of traditionally soapy.

There was no Sonny and/or Carly, which is always good.

And, although we had Nina, we didn't have so much of her that I wanted to smack her, which is good, and we didn't have Franco, which is also always good.

At least Lucas got several lines today.

The only times I tuned out and starting playing cards on my phone were when Nik was on.

She knows he had her shot, yet she's still trying to salvage the relationship. Why? She loves him? HE TRIED TO HAVE HER KILLED. I don't expect Nik to fess up and try to make amends, as that's not him. (And it fits in with the general show ethos that the men are rarely responsible for their actions.) I don't understand what Rebecca Budig is going for here.

I can't hate only Nik here when Rebecca Budig is an active, willing participant in this gross relationship.

FV lived on the New York for years. He should no damn well California cannot pass for New York.  At least when Y&R decides they want to do some real outdoor shoots they send their characters on trips to California. I'm on the east coast too and while today is a warm day outside does not look lush. Some trees have flowers but many are bare.

Eh, they're trying something different. There wouldn't be much point shooting scenes outside if everyone were all bundled up and shivering. It's not like we saw cacti or palm trees in the background.

Stupid Dante needed to shut up. I guess they wanted to establish that Dante felt bad (which, cry me a river dude, no one cares), but is no one allowed to say, "hey, Valerie is a grown woman and no one forced her to sleep with you anymore than anyone forced you to sleep with her. If she's left "hanging", it's partly her own fault"? I mean, is this thread going anywhere? If not, can we all move on? I'm willing to move on if you let me show, but you're not letting me.

Anyway, I liked today's episode.

Dante and Nathan have good friendship chemistry, but their friendship doesn't seem quite realistic enough. Real friends would give each other more shit. Also, shouldn't  Dante's bag be much tinier, on account of his teeny tiny clothes only needing so much space? :)

Lucas looked very hot today. Nice Curtis moment of shirtlessness.

Shut up Kristina.

Nice barn Jason. No, seriously, I would live there.

I'm surprised they didn't have Brad beam down into the Crimson office out of nowhere to bond with Joe Zee. "You're a gay Asian? I'm a gay Asian too!"

Would it kill Michelle Stafford to act without tics for two seconds? It would, wouldn't it. Fine. I'll overlook it, now that I know it will kill her. That was nice work from her though from her when Nathan came in and Nina smiled and patted his shoulder.

this Claudette secret is painfully lame.

Nikolas is scum now, and he has no redeeming qualities, in personality or in looks. Tyler Christopher is back to looking like a human thumb, and the saliva on his lips was gross.

Nikolas: you put yourself into harm's way when you kept upping the blackmail

Somewhere Sonny's upset cause his magic mirror just told him there is someone out there less self-aware than him

And when he put his hands on Hayden's face? ew ew ew. I guess they are going for Sonny and Carly 2016, but it's not working. Early sonny and Carly were a couple for about 4 years before the bullet of love, and even then it wasn't on purpose. ew. Unless they are willing to embrace Nikolas as all out villain, this isn't working. I mean we have even Sam lamenting about how she's doing it for Spencerrrrr. (Speaking of her, her hair was fantabulous.)

I mean, I think an outdoor scene in fall or winter would be fine, but obviously they don't have that there, so I'll let it slide. The palm trees in the GH parking lot three years ago was kinda of egregious, but I could let slide the park today.

I agree with this. Yeah, yeah it's not exactly accurate to NY weather, but so what. They don't have to be 100% realistic about everything (not that they're realistic about much.)

Her falling in love with Nik after he had her shot in the head is certainly gross, but I still don't have as much of a problem with her as Nik in this situation. He's still the person who had a woman shot because she would thwart his plans to steal someone else's company. Then after he falls in love with the woman, knowing full well he had her shot and that she was a conwoman, he hypocritically rants and raves about how she's betrayed and wounded him. Worst of all the show expects us to feel sorry for him and think that she's in the wrong. So, yeah, my sympathy is more with her.

Ugh! I can't believe Sam and Jason couldn't figure out who might have wanted to shoot Hayden. Literally two seconds after Jason reiterates that Nik wanted Hayden out of the way because she was about to tell Jason about his true identity, he wonders out loud who could have had a motive to shoot Hayden. I can sort of get that Sam might not want to believe that her cousin would stoop so low to having a woman shot, but I can't see why Jason didn't connect the dots.

SHUT UP, Kristina! My God! She barely let Alexis get a word in edgewise before laying on so much attitude I wanted Alexis to slap her silly. She was able to admit to Lucas that Alexis would never throw her out or turn her back on her for being gay, but she's still acting like Alexis has been totally unwilling to accept her sexuality. Especially considering that Alexis' argument that Kristina might be confused is actually accurate. Kristina herself admitted she's not sure what's going on with her. And Sonny admits when he's wrong? HAHAHAHAHA.

Somewhere Sonny's upset cause his magic mirror just told him there is someone out there less self-aware than him

LMAO.

If that woman gets knocked up again I want her to be mowed down in the same spot where DNAJ was hit twice.

Curtis should let Lulu know that Dante is concerned about the well being of his former sidepiece. Ugh why can't Lulu take a break from Dante and have a spring fling with someone who isn't garbage.

Kristina needs a healthy dose of STFU and some Xanax.

When Sam and Jason find out that Nik had Hayden shot they BETTER give the evidence to Hayden or the cops.

Is it bad that I feel nothing for Nikolas? I was fucking rooting for Hayden to trap him in their marriage when he tried to cut her loose. When she did, I clapped so hard. He literally tried to have Hayden killed and has been covering it up, but he can try to divorce her for her lies? And he doesn't even have the fucking decency to leave her some money? Oh HELL no, I would of trapped his ass too. Hayden has her faults (and I don't particularly like her), but good on her for holding the power over his disgusting ass today.
