AgentRXS June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 So day one of Nina. All I can say is that I hope they pair Silas and her immediately and free Sam from this boring shit. Besides, hasn't Sam learned yet that she literally can not go ANYWHERE in public with this man without the shit hitting the fan everywhere they go? Sam's face was so: "Really?Another person coming back from the dead...Jesus Christ". I feel ya, Sam. I feel ya. We don't want her around either. Levi is a waste of airtime. Make it go away. This show is becoming so bad its hard to find any snark value in it. Its just pure crap. Peace out, baby Plot Point. Another waste of a storyline. Its really a shame they didn't make the baby a Rivera and kept it living. This show desperately needs a non-Spencer/Corinthos/Q/Cassadine offspring for future generations to mate with. I didn't want the baby to be Patricks but I didn't want it to die. I just wanted it and its mother to life offscreen for a very, long time. One baby plot point dies, another enters. Its a Corinthos hybrid, so its almost certain to live. Ugh. 3 Link to comment
Turkish June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 (edited) Yeah, there is no way Nina isn't going to turn out BatshitCrazy. At least towards Sam when she finds out the truth. You don't hire Michelle Stafford to play nice characters. I am loving the hell out of Morgan hating Sonny. At one of his kid's should hate him at all times. I did cringe at him asking Ava to have an abortion though. Lets be real though if she hadn't have been caught by Sonny she probably would have secretly had an abortion anyway. I'm not buying that she cares about this kid. I really hope it is Morgan's or heartlessly that this kid dies because I can't abide Sonny having yet another child to neglect but act like his personal property that he is being kept from. I just caught up on the last three episodes so I have to say I loved the truth bomb Molly dropped on Alexis about her baby daddies. She did not tell a lie. Sonny alone has done so much horrible shit but Alexis can't defend Ric because Julian is hitting it oh so right? Oh, Alexis. You are going to have egg on your face when the truth comes out. And poor RicH. I don't know why he keeps coming back to this show. I knew the second AJ left Ric would become the new whipping boy. This show has always consistently treated him this way. Something tells me he won't stick around for too much longer at this rate. Edited June 5, 2014 by Turkish 2 Link to comment
jsbt June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 To be clear, this is an observation borne out of yesterday's episode, lest we move it to one of the new, extraneous threads. Allow me to call it now and be bored already: Nina is a Cassadine. This will, in Ron's eyes, cement her on the show as a core power player. Nina and Nathan are the product of Victor Cassadine's two-timing both Westbourne sisters with each other, much to what I'm sure will be Liesl's over-played comic chagrin and jealousy. Remember, Nina was being kept by Madeline at the same clinic that Victor escorted Robin to; this is not coincidence. He knows both women and he has sired children by both of them. Nina and Nathan (and Nikolas) also fits the same alliteration as Stefan and Stavros. It's a new/old core family with not three, but four soap divas (Obrecht, Donna Mills, Nina, and oh yeah, Helena) that goes on forever...and ever...and ever.Wait for it. 4 Link to comment

Fylaki June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 (edited) Actually, there could be something worse than making Levi Mac's son. God forbid that he turns out to be Jax's. Knowing how much Ron likes WTD stories we could be in for a Jax/Miranda/Mac baby story with Levi going to the loser. Or worse a Mac/Katherine/Stefan WTD with Stefan ending up as the daddy and Levi is suddenly a Cassadine (and Nik, Victor, Alexis, Sam, Molly and even Nathan all just say no and take turns poisoning his dumb ass) Edited June 6, 2014 by Stinger97 Formatting 2 Link to comment
Rancide June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 As stupid as this Nina story is under just about any circumstances, it's only stupider if Nina turns out to be BSC. What's compelling about a triangle where one of the legs is obviously unrootable? The only time BSC interlopers work as a plot point is when they're used to uncover/explore existing fault-lines in a relationship. Like when Carly messed with Tony and Bobby. Watching poor put upon Sam and Silas suffer under the weight of crazy, unrootable coma wife is just stupid, sloppy writing. Can't we please just settle the Prospect Park litigation now? Before RoHo actually falls asleep on camera? 3 Link to comment

That way, you can see the twu wuv that shines brightly off of Sam and Silas, at least in this case. And sorry, but it was not due to the PP issues that they give RoHo such a horrible character that the guy is a walking zombie on screen. He may have put out a little more effort if they gave him a character that was a modicum better than a reformed serial killer. Hell, he was edging this way with Todd before he ran back to Llanview. I really didn't like it when Jason suggested it to Sam, and I don't like it here. I can definitely understand it more from Morgan's POV, I don't think he's doing it in the same way that Jason was, which was disgusting. But still. Not your decision to make. 2 Link to comment

I was not a OLTL viewer, and I'd never heard of RoHo before he appeared on GH. So I have no basis for an historical comparison of RoHo performances. But in 30ish years of television watching, I have never, ever seen anyone look as checked out an uninterested as he looked yesterday. It's actually quite remarkable. He's a good-looking guy, and even mid-yawn, the charisma is evident. Lord knows there is tons of shitty acting on this show. I'm used to the sputtering, struggling-to-remember-their-lines variety (Mo'), the just-consumed-too-much-sugar variety (Kiki, Molly) and even the suffering-from-facial-paralysis variety (Detective Wood, GV-era Lucky). But RoHo is the first actor I've ever seen whose terrible-ness seems practically deliberate--it's like every line that comes out of his mouth is dripping with sarcasm. 3 Link to comment
MSquared June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 RH has seemed "over it" since he came to GH. It's very clear that he's only in this for the paycheck. I disagree with being over it since he cam to GH. Back to, yes, but he when he started in March of 2012, he was good. He did not mail in anything with Starr, Blair, Tea, hell, even Carly. His Sonny scenes were amazing and I did see chem with Robin Mattson. Yes, I am a TnB fan, so it does color my perspective, but he started checking out after Blair left that summer. And it got lost as he got tossed into more and more scenes with Carly and Johnny. The only halfway decent thing he did afterwards was with Skye, Carly, Tea and Blair in "Llanview". And after that, it was back to the gutter. He was flailing about, literally, with Starr, fratboying it up with Carly and just goofy all around. Then he went back to OLTL and he was amazing again. Emoting, but not overly so. Light when needed, but not the constant goofball. He did not have one bad scene through his run there. Now, what was different there? IMO, he knows Ron's writing is shit. OL's writing, while not the greatest, was better than anything I have seen on GH in the past year and a half. But he knows Ron is a terrible storyteller and the writers he has around him are no better. RH mails it in because he won't put the effort in if the writings not there. He's worked with Ron for three years now and it has probably gotten the vibe that it ain't gonna get any better, so why should he try. MHO, of course. 7 Link to comment

I do think the fact that Morgan will eventually forgive Sonny vs Ava isn't just about the fact that Sonny is a man and Ava is a woman. (For now, who knows how gross things may get later.) Yes, Morgan will forgive the man over the woman, but in this case the man in his father, and his father is a long-running contract player and the woman in this case is someone who is probably, in maybe less then a year, two years if we're stretching it, going to be killed off in some murder mystery probably. Now, I think it would be totally about the men if, for example, he was angry at both Carly and Sonny and he eventually forgave Sonny but held a grudge against Carly for all time. I mean, I still hope Morgan will never forgive Sonny and hate him for eternity, but I know that won't happen because Sonny is the star of the show. And really, it actually does make sense that he may eventually forgive Sonny solely because Sonny is his father. And Morgan is really just a wooby little baby who wants someone to actually love him and it makes him dumb. So, yea, it makes sense. But in the GH in my head Morgan makes a real friend and he never speaks to Sonny or Carly ever again. Edited June 5, 2014 by peachmangosteen 5 Link to comment

Levi can meet his maker anytime, too. Another useless newb. I have yet to figure out what's so great about Michele Stafford. I didn't get all the hype when she was on Y&R and I certainly didn't see the superior talent yesterday. Nina's arrival left me flat, as it apparently did all the actors in her scenes yesterday. The energy on screen could have maybe made enough amperage to light a very, very small pen light for 40 seconds. Sonny, Sonny, Sonny, what a grease spot you are. MB seems to get a little worse every year. Why is it that JJY is one of the few actors who actually shows up in his scenes and gets nothing, while every pet and newb act bored to tears and yet are in every freaking segment? I would hate that for a variety of reasons. One (the most obvious one) - making Nina even more central to the show. Two - I adored Victor's adoration of Dr. O so I would be gutted if he two-timed her with her sister. And three - making Dr. O, Magda, Nina, and Nathan all connected to the Cassadines would leave my girl Britt a little out in the cold in this family unit. Also, I wouldn't be shocked if Ron tries to lock down some veteran male actor to play a back-from-the-dead Papa Reeves (Magda's husband and presumably Nina's biological father). I had typed out a few lines about how I don't think Ava is solely trying to save her life, but no one cares but me. That bugged me, too, but I also thought it was totally in character for Morgan. I wish Ava had been more "Tough shit; you don't get a choice here" about that, but at least she stood her ground. As for actually wanting the baby to do more than save her life, I don't think she's above using it to manippleate Morgan into getting back together. Lauren is a disaster, but most of that happened once they hit PC. Before that it seemed they had a decent relationship. I don't think this baby would ever be a chance to do a better job the next time around. Molly and TJ are 10 feet away helping Danny color, seeming to not notice or care what's going on. I didn't mind that. At least someone was paying attention to Danny on his birthday. was so relieved they actually went through with it and allowed it to pass away. Isn't that awful of me? I totally get why she played things that way - the smart and safe way to go in a major WTF situation. Remember, this is the woman whose son got kidnapped because she didn't 'deliver the letter to Steven Lars' for crazy Heather Webber. This shock is happening just feet away from her little boy, during his b-day party. She has no idea if this woman could freak out and harm her son or another loved one, have a loud breakdown right there in the park and ruin Danny's b-day celebration, have a medical crisis/collapse in the park from the "shock" of seeing the S&S relationship that the vindictive Madeline later blames Silas and Sam for, etc. 3 Link to comment

That whole scene was horribly written I don't see where she'd get any idea how to play it. Let the Eckert (as Spencer cousins), Jacks', and Scorpio's remain douche free. Gawd No Please do not have youngRichardSimmons in a bad wig be Nina's child. She's already saddled to Silas as it is! I have no issues with Sam's reaction. She has absolutely no reason to have any kind of venom towards this woman...yet. What was she going to say?? "Go back into your coma you selfish bitch, Silas is mine now??" Nina is not guilty of anything at this point (as far as we or Sam know), I am actually glad Sam didn't get possessive and catty. She didn't have to be catty, but standing around petting a piece of foliage to overtly eavesdrop was totally ridiculous. It was her son's birthday and I'd think she'd get a clue your boyfriend might like some privacy to deal with his suddely alive wife from 20 yrs ago. She should have taken everyone over to have an actual party for poor Danny and let Silas deal with Nina himself over to the side. I couldn't figure out why they didn't tell her the truth to begin with, she's been in coma for 20yrs I think she could handle her husband moving on, she might not like it but truthfulness wouldn't have hurt. I'm glad she didn't get possessive and catty, too, but she totally punted when Nina asked her how she knew Silas. "He's my son's doctor" isn't a lie, of course, but but would it have been so terrible to admit to dating Silas? As I wrote earlier, I think it's way soapier to get that news out sooner rather than later and see the fallout. It's not some great secret. Edited June 5, 2014 by dubbel zout Link to comment
RedheadZombie June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 As long as it isn't Stavros. Thaao Penglis > Robert Kelker-Kelly. I remember watching RKK on Another World back in the day and liking him. He was so cartoonish on GH, I couldn't watch him. Completely over the top. RKK and the Franco character are bringing to mind the brief time I watched DOOL and B&B. I feel GH is turning into pure camp like those two shows. I remember GH used to be the show with the good acting. Link to comment
no1skittishkitten June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 Silas to Nina Van Winkle: "I remember everything" Me: *looks at Pacey/Joey avatar and gets stabby* I need to go kill some balloons now, Sam McCall-style. 3 Link to comment
rur June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 There are some times that I really like Ava, and today was one of them. I loved how she went toe to toe with the slagbeast and didn't blink. I loved how she called her "your feral ex-wife" to Sonny. And I would love to see a summer of Carly looking over her shoulder and jumping at every sound. I also loved the last scene: Sonny you idiot -- you're taking Ava home with you? The manipulation has already begun. Neither you nor Carly have either the brains or foresight to deal with Ava. I love it. 5 Link to comment
TeeVee329 June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 And I would love to see a summer of Carly looking over her shoulder and jumping at every sound. That would be sweet. I thought Carly was pretty stupid to antagonize a woman who a) she knows has murdered before and b) basically has nothing to lose at this point. 1 Link to comment
Kitty Redstone June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 If Ava kills the Slagbeast, then I will love her forever. Can Sonny and Nina piss her off next? That just might make me rethink my decision to start skipping this fucked up show. Threatening to kill a woman after she has her baby is not entertaining, Ron Carliavati. Nor is watching a woman have to beg Uncle Fester for her life. It is sick. And what isn't sick about this show is stupid and boring. I feel sorry for Kelly Monaco. She got through years of acting opposite a block of wood only to be paired with someone just as boring, only scrawnier. Also, they can have every character say that Michelle Stafford is beautiful but it will not make it so. 6 Link to comment
Dandesun June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 (edited) If Ron and Frank really want to be shocking, instead of being utterly predictable with only Facebook fans and the soap media who live so far up their collective asses that they pay Homeowners fees saying otherwise, they'll kill off Carly. Go ahead! Do it! Be bold! Let Sonny and Michael and Morgan flounder like crazy without their overbearing quim inserting herself into every part of their world. They can always bring the Slagbeast back a year later or whatever. But, sure! Go for it! They won't because they're far too predictable but I'd actually be impressed if they let Ava bump Carly off. Besides... Ava is a more effective Carly than Carly is. Edited June 5, 2014 by Dandesun 6 Link to comment
