Thoughts on the OG premiere episode tonight:

Maci: same shit (working on associate's degree, living with her boyfriend, ugly tattoos, making mountains out of molehills with Ryan); different season. Yawn. I would have been 100% fine with her not being included in the new season.

Catelynn: I've really come to dislike Tyler. Catelynn obviously wants to be married before the baby arrives, but Tyler doesn't want to yet, even though he's totally ready to have a baby with her /side eye/. A baby is a bigger commitment than a marriage (you can divorce a spouse but not a kid & you're stuck dealing with the kid's other parents for at least 18 years):.

If it's that important to the the mother of your child (who you own a house with and have been with for years & who you pretty much coerced into placing your previous child for adoption) that you get married and you're so ready to be parents, grow a pair and wife her up. Catelynn deserves better. I know she desperately wanted to be a mom (and I think she'll be a great mom), but I wish she hadn't chosen Tyler to be her baby's dad.

April and Kim both look really good. I liked Kim's reaction to the pregnancy. I miss Butch! Hey MTV- how about you follow Butch around and replace Maci's segments with Butch segments?

Amber: I really hope she stays clean and stays far away from Gary except to co-parent. Interesting to learn Amber's cousin only has time for her when the cameras are around. Gary's girlfriend looks perpetually unhappy. You deserve better, too, Kristina! Gary looks so weird with so little facial/head hair. He's really gross and I'm not just saying that because of his size. Leah just seems to be so smart, articulate, and a delightful child to be around. She must have some really amazing natural resilience. I hope she continues to thrive unaffected by the situations she's been exposed to by her parents. I'm impressed with Amber so far, but I'm holding my breath to see what happens when her new boyfriend/fiancé is shown.

Farrah: can't wait to hate-watch her, "My-cole," and Deborah next week.

Amber feels disrespected because a man she isn't dating is going on vacation with a woman he is? Ooook. But really, that conversation couldn't have gone any other way. If Gary had just said no, then Amber would have asked why, Gary would have told her, and she still would have been pissed.

People earn bachelor's degrees in the time it's taking Maci to earn an associate's. She hasn't done a damn thing productive in six years. It's lather, rinse, repeat.

Catelynn and Tyler are insufferable, more so him, but I can't stand either one. Does he do anything during the day other than sit around and Google himself?  And Catelynn, my dear, stable is the last word I would ever use to describe you and Tyler.

  • Love 8

I don't know if I'd say Maci hasn't done anything productive in 6 years. She took the opportunity to stay home and raise her child. I think that's more important than anything else.

She had the money to be able to stay home and take care of her kid.

I stayed home with my kids and would have been highly offended if somebody had said I wasn't doing anything productive.

People like Kim drive me crazy. As soon as they hear about a pregnancy they start the "do you know your life is going to cchange" bullshit.

No shit lady.

I'm only 20 minutes in and its already pissing me off.

  • Love 4

I don't typically find humor in, well, finding humor in anything to do with mocking others' physical appearance, but, as they sure as hell aren't natural, or corrective, or ... rational (and yet didn't disappear when the drugs did, so they're not ACTUALLY a physical representation of her IRrational or altered state, as I'd previously considered them), I am viewing them as a sartorial choice, an ill-advised one, certainly, but one over which she has full power (or, if even if she is powerless, certainly the tools to choose not to use them one day at a time...) and, thus,

I feel quite justified in how hard I laughed when I first even thought that I had read on my screen, nevermind how much I howled with delight when I backed my DVR right the fuck up, hit pause, and saw that, indeed, when Amber oh-so-healthily called him to see if she could get a fix of Leah to replace her longing for a drug fix, Gary's phone contact entry informed him, and us, that he had received a phone call from

  • Love 19

It's so obvious the only reason that Tyler stays with Catelynn is because their relationship keeps him famous. Too bad they're dragging a kid into that. Amber needs some friends and something to do or somewhere to go every day. It's a little pathetic to just sit on a couch all day and your only friend is an Mtv producer. It may not bode well for her continued sobriety. Idle hands and all that.

  • Love 5

What the hell did Gary do wrong this time? I see Amber asking for Leah for the night and Gary nicely saying no and explaining why. Next thing I know Amber is pissed.

She hasn't changed.

Catelynn's friend and Gary make me so sad. They're both so young and have their lives ahead of them but with their obesity they'll be lucky to see age 40.

Maci has never bothered me like she seems to bother so many others. I think she's a good mom and it seems like she's trying to coparent but isn't getting much help.

So far I like her boyfriend. Much better than herpty derp Kyle.

  • Love 2

Seems to me that all of the girls are EXACTLY where they were when the last season ended.

Maci is a forever student, who constantly wants to bring the drama to her relationship with Ryan. Oh, Bentley, he's hitting that whiny little boy stage. No wonder he gets along with Ryan, they like to play with the same toys. Ryan will always be a child. I don't know why Maci had to have that little scene with Ryan's mom. Like she is going to throw he kid under the bus, NOT.

Amber and Gary still have a dysfunctional relationship. I couldn't believe it when Amber said that they would never get back together, and Gary said "never say never". I mean really, gag! Gary is hugely obese yet manages to get with the ladies.I do not understand. I did lol when I saw his screen name on his phone for Amber  It said something like "six inch lashes"

Oh, Cate and Tyler. I guess they finally figured out that they could replace Carly with Carly 2.0. I wonder if there were no cameras and no MTV, would he be with Cate. Methinks he would have been gone long ago. And what is the big objection to babies after marriage? I seriously don't get it. I love how they read every word published about them on the Interwebs. Then go through a "we are doing great" diatribe each time.

Next week is Farrah. Ugh.

  • Love 3
People earn bachelor's degrees in the time it's taking Maci to earn an associate's. She hasn't done a damn thing productive in six years. It's lather, rinse, repeat.

"A lot of people go to college for seven years." "Yeah, they're called doctors."

Maci has never bothered me like she seems to bother so many others. I think she's a good mom and it seems like she's trying to coparent but isn't getting much help.

Yeah, overall, she bothers me the least. Of all the Teen Mom kids, I think Bentley has the best shot of growing up normal and loved. (Not including Carly, who I think will also be fine.)  He'll probably be a bit of a partier, but his problems will be normal.

  • Love 3

Watching a lot of the marathon this weekend reminded me of how awful both Amber and Gary are. It's a miracle Leah is so sweet and...well, normal.

If Gary hadn't told Amber a) he was going on vacation or b) that Kristina was going, she would have thrown a fit about not knowing where Leah was or who she was with. But when he DOES tell her, she throws a fit anyway? I will never understand her. And I hate how she always falls back on her time in jail. "I just want to be happy not to be in prison! Do you know what it was like for me in prison? I could be in prison right now, but I'm not!" Like that's an excuse for how she acts, or like she deserves extra sympathy because of it. Yes, I feel bad that she had drug problems and legal problems, and I'm happy she's trying to work them out. But her past doesn't dictate how others get to live their lives.

I didn't miss Farrah at all. Her two minutes of screentime were more than enough. I can't stop staring at her face whenever she's on.

  • Love 5

Well Hell must have frozen over because I actually agreed with Farrah last night!

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Farrah is in anyway the Queen of Good Choices, but I had to nod my head when she was on the talk show saying to Catelyn and Tyler

"You said you were giving up your daughter so you could both get college educations! Have you done any of that? No, you've made poor choices!"

Seriously, for the amount of progress they've made in improving their lives (zero, that I can tell?) they might as well have just kept the kid and spared us the years of listening to them whine about letting her go. (Although I am 99% certain that Carly is better off where she is, and for that I am grateful!)

  • Love 8

I'm almost sorry that Farrah made the porn.  Not because there's anything wrong with porn.  I love porn.  But now she gives folks the ammuntion to disregard anything that comes out her mouth.

"Hey Cate and Ty...what happened to all that crap you promised Carly?"

"Well,  YOU MADE A PORN!!"

Farrah was speaking truth at that reunion when she called Cate and Ty on being full of shit.  I'm glad somebody finally pointed that out to them.  They haven't done a single thing they clained they were after in the name of iCarly.

All they've done is bought a house.  Whoopty damn doo.  Tyler is still not an astronaut/psychiatrist and Cate is still not an EMT Tech or whatever she claimed she was striving for.  They're still two clingy codependant lumps who have traded pizza for Subway's heros.

The only winner on this show is iCarly.

For all Maci's whining that she is the heavy hitter and Ryan pawns Bentley off on his parents, we see Maxi let Bentley call the shots on going to bed while Ryan has something or other out of town and includes Bentley.

Bentley brats it up, Ryan gets down to his level and (clumsily, but still) let's him know that defying his dad is unacceptable.

Who parented their kid there Maci?

Edited by dorcastrilling
  • Love 10

First off, I have to say I like the breaking of the fourth wall this season. It makes the show more interesting, and you can get better insights on certain things. Like Bentley - I'm not saying the kid is a perfect angel, but I also have no doubt that the camera makes certain kids act up. And you may feel uncomfortable getting "real" with your kids when you're being filmed. We've obviously always known that stuff, but I like seeing it actually addressed.

Anyhow, on to the girls. I guess I'll start with Maci. As I said above, Bentley may be showing his butt for the cameras, but the way she interacts with him drives me nuts. She calls him butthead and whines that he's being "mean". She sounds more like a sister than a mom. I'm sure that happens quite frequently when Teen Moms have kids, but she really needs to get a handle on it.

I did feel badly for Bentley when he was crying about going to Nashville. I agree with Ryan, to an extent, that kids need to do what their parents tell them, even when they sometimes don't like it. But I just had to wonder....how often does Bentley see Ryan? Every weekend? Every other weekend? If Maci has full custody and he doesn't get to see his dad all that often, don't you think Bentley would be jumping at the chance to spend time with Ryan? But no, he was terribly upset and wanted to stay with his Grandparents. I know a lot of the crap we hear from Maci may be incredibly biased and one-sided, but Bentley's reaction made me wonder if Ryan doesn't just focus most of his attention on his girlfriend and tow Bentley along like a suitcase.

And I want to know what Ryan is doing that he has ZERO time to meet with the mother of his child and talk? Does he work? Does he have his own place? All we ever see of him is at his parent's house, goofing off, or macking on some girl. He's just being an ass. I did like Jen's advice of using email to communicate, and watching how you phrase things. It sucks that it has to be that way, but it's reality. I still have a feeling that no matter how Maci approaches it, Ryan is not going to like hearing she thinks he's basically an absentee dad.

Catelynn - Or maybe, I should be addressing Tyler. Because he's the one who really gets on my nerves. That dude is the biggest fame whore on this show, if you ask me. I swear, that's why he stays with Catelynn. Well, I think it's part guilt, part not realizing that loving someone doesn't mean you're in love with them, but a HUGE part of it is - "We're Catelynn and Tyler! America's Sweethearts. We gave our baby up, look how mature and selfless we are!"

Yet, what have you really done? True, they're not living at home anymore. They're out of the dysfunctional setup that was clearly the main reason not to bring a baby around. They're ostensibly financially secure. So, sure, that's enough, IMO, to be set up for a baby. But that doesn't change the fact that they said they wanted to get an education and pursue a career before settling down. They're fine now, but whenever MTV finally does tire of their asses, what then? Can they live off of giving adoption speeches their whole lives? NO. And I loved that Tyler immediately stated that HE would be the one to get his degree before the baby comes....and Catelynn could just stay at home and wait until the kid is in school. Honestly, that's fine if you're cool with it. I'm a SAHM, and I love it! I think it's the best thing in the world for my kids. But it needs to be a mutual decision. Not Tyler telling her she's always wanted to be a SAHM.

He seriously just shoots down everything she says. If you want to marry her anyhow (big LOL) and she would prefer being married before the baby comes (maybe she should have been on BC then), what's the big deal in going to the courthouse? I roll my eyes every time a dude says, "You deserve a big wedding". Yea, okay.

No, he probably wants to wait so they can film it and get paid and have tons of attention around their big day. That's his angle. He seems like he is obsessed with the tabloids, like he sits around reading them all day and Googling their names. And what was with the posing in front of the hotel room window with his hands over her belly? Gah, famewhore, I tell ya!

Amber, Amber, Amber. I want to root for her. I really do. I don't know, I have a soft spot for addicts. I want her to get better and have a good relationship with her daughter. But that temper of hers, it's already peeking out. She just goes from 0-60 when something pisses her off. Like her mother at the nail salon. I can concede that maybe mom should have been trying harder to keep the mood light. But I can also see where she's coming from, if she's been on this roller coaster with her daughter the entire time, and then Gary's name starts being bandied about, she gets concerned. I would be. Heck, even GARY was dropping hints about them getting back together. NO. NO. NO. Please, Dear God, no. NOT a good idea! Amber still has a lot of work to do before she should be with anyone, let alone Gary. But those two are just toxic together.

And how nice for his girlfriend to hear that. If they were still together in real time, I bet they're not now.

I love Leah. That is my favorite Teen Mom kid right there. She is so sweet and bright and full of imagination. "I have parks in my head"? I just died.

  • Love 6

Exactly! That whole thing was so stupid. Amber wanted to act like Gary was rubbing his relationship in her face, but all he was doing was explaining where his daughter was going to be for the next week. If he had just said, "we have plans" and Amber found out after the fact that he'd been out of town without her knowing, she'd flip out. I swear, she just looks for reasons to get offended by Gary!

Watching a lot of the marathon this weekend reminded me of how awful both Amber and Gary are. It's a miracle Leah is so sweet and...well, normal.

Honestly, I just think Leah was blessed with this amazingly sweet, chill personality. She has seen so much shit, but she seems really unaffected to me. Maybe she will just be one of those kids who is 100% nature, and is going to turn out well, despite the crap her parents have put her through.

  • Love 2

Ugh, Maci and Ryan are boring! Gary needs to get shirts without horizontal stripes. Is Amber going to AA meetings or counseling, or does she just sit around?

I do not like seeing the 4th wall. I don't want to see Amber's producer friend. Catelynn and Tyler announced their pregnancy to the camera crew before anyone else? It's too weird. I know sometimes pregnancy tests are filmed, but the show can't have it both ways; we're supposed to ignore the crew unless they're part of the story?

  • Love 2

I cannot handle Amber's eyelashes.  What WERE those things?  That, coupled with her ridiculously long nails, leads me to believe she learned everything she knows about cosmetics inside prison. She's looking real klassy, there.  The only thing that distracted me more than Amber's nails and lashes were Farrah's lips on that reunion show they were filming.  Good god, lay off the botox!

It's abundantly clear that Tyler is with Catelyn for the fame.  It kills me whenever I hear someone say "you don't need to be married to have a kid!"  No, you don't.  You're absolutely right about that.  However, if you're prepared to have a child with someone and thereby stay connected to them for as long as that child or you are alive, you should be willing to marry that person.  If you're not committed enough to marry a certain person, you have no business intentionally having a child with that person. It's not just about a piece of paper, it's about your willingness to commit to that specific person. I really don't understand why that's such a difficult concept for people to comprehend.

When I saw the scene with Ryan having a beer with his girlfriend my first thought was "wait, isn't he still on probation for that DUI??"  Then I realized that was Adam.  Those two losers are interchangeable to me.  I'm equally intrigued at both their abilities to keep getting girlfriends.

Amber needs to chill the fuck out with the makeup. She already has naturally small, squinty eyes. Adding ten lbs of false eyelashes, liner, etc. does not help at all.

Also, while we're on the superficial, can someone please get Catelynn some bangs? Thank you.

I'm actually pretty open about people not wanting to get married. For some people it really IS just a piece of paper, and there are people who do not want the government sanctioning their relationship. The issue here is, those two are not on the same page. Clearly, it's something that IS important for Catelynn. And Tyler is just spouting off nonsense to try and sound enlightened, but really he is masking his fear of committing to HER long term.

Ryan is a total douchenozzle, but he's very good looking, IMO. I can totally understand him being able to get a bevvy of girlfriends. With Adumb's prematurely balding, paunchy,  hot wing loving ass it's a little harder to understand.

  • Love 5

What is up with these Teen Moms who decide to have another kid when they are still to young, immature, not in a stable relationship? I don't give a rats ass if you are 23 now (like 23 automatically equal mature and wise).  If you still don't have your shit together, you shouldn't be having a second kid. Cate and Tyler have talked for 6 years about going to college, but neither of them are even close. So Tyler says, I go to college and you stay home, then you go to college. Yeah, it just so damn easy to have kids and go to college. And then  jump entry level into the workforce with little kids is such a piece of cake. And apparently Maci wants to or did have another baby. WTF, she can't deal with school and her one kid, much less two.

As much as Amber and Farrah are giant fuck ups, at least they haven't thought it was a great idea to pop out another kid.

OG's. They forgot the M. These girls are still so ridiculous that it's ridiculous, lol.

Thank God Macy's forehead cleared up, I can stand to look at her now and I was surprised she is quite pretty. Blah blah blah Ryan sucks. Not really her problem is it? Why do people think they have to co-parent? Sometimes the best way to co-parent is to simply drop the kid off and pick him up again. As long as the kid isn't being harmed there really doesn't need to be much face to face interaction between the parents. A lot of times (IMO) it's easier on both parties and the kid. What's wrong with communicating through texts? It's how I interact with 95% of everyone I know. If you can't stand the other parent and conversations always escalate then take the path of least resistance and text.

Amber. Lose the eyelashes and nails. Gross. Lose Gary too. He's gross. Again, another couple that would be best off to simply text and have quick drop offs and pick ups. It also seems that they need to court and have set visitations. Amber shouldn't be finding out the night before that they are going on vacation and therefore won't get Leah for a week. If visitation was set she wouldn't even need to know that they were going on vacation unless it ran into her time at which time Gary would have to either clear it with her or make sure Leah was back on time.

Jesus people, that's what courts are for, to put an end to all the drama.

Caitlyn and Tyler. You suck. Caitlyn sure thinks her shit doesn't stink. I'll be generous and chalk that up to Tyler blowing his delusions up her ass. Someday she will hopefully mature and look back at these episodes and be properly embarrassed.

  • Love 7

I just got a chance to watch the new episode.  I used to be a big Catelynn and Tyler fan, but I’m over them now.  For all the time they spend googling themselves, you’d think they’d be more self-aware.  They complain about media intrusion into their lives (after they’ve chosen to be on multiple reality shows), but they can’t comprehend why Brandon and Teresa don’t want their child (who didn’t have a choice in the matter) all over social media?  Get over yourselves.  Part of me feels bad for Catelynn given that Tyler is doing everything he can to put off marrying her, but girlfriend needs to open her eyes.  Tyler’s been dating her for a decade, engaged to her for five years, and gotten her pregnant twice.  If he’s still unsure about marriage after all that, it’s not going to happen (unless maybe MTV throws enough money at him).

Maci has gotten too self-righteous for my taste.  I get that Ryan is rough around the edges, but Maci seems to actually derive pleasure out of vilifying him.  She’s been trying to have the same argument with him for six damn years.  No wonder he doesn’t want to meet up and rehash the same stuff.  I feel like you could’ve taken one of their arguments out of season one and stuck it in this episode and there wouldn’t have been a noticeable difference.

I think Amber is clearly in a better place than she was before, but that temper is still there.  I did have to laugh at the poor nail technicians who were just trying to quietly do their jobs while Amber & co. were bringing the crazy.  I also think Gary is having too much fun with the fact that two women are in love with him (for reasons I sure fail to understand).

I would say these girls need to get off the air and move on with their lives, but then I would have to find a new guilty pleasure.

  • Love 4

Is this season off to the same ol' shit? Really? Again with the manis and pedis? Can we go one season without watching them do this? Is this all they have to offer? Is this all they ever really do?

Yes, Maci has been raising her child. But, I raised children too and still worked. I know a handful of women who went to college while raising kids. Some were single, others were married. She couldn't get a degree by now? It isn't as if she has Bentley with her 24/7. He spends time at his dad's place too. In her downtime, all she has managed is secure another live-in boyfriend. If she put that same effort into her career, she'd have one by now.

  • Love 9

I agree with pretty much all the comments here.

Catelynn and Tyler: Girl, he does NOT want to marry you (unless it's on a reality TV special)! He was disappointed about the pregnancy being leaked only because he wanted "a great big [magazine] spread" for the announcement. It's idiotic for them to have another child at age 22, and laughable that they're still pretending they're going to go to college. Kudos to them for milking reality TV for as long as they have, but it WILL dry up eventually and then how are they going to pay their mortgage, let alone raise a child?

Amber: Still a train-wreck. Every tiny thing sends her into a downward spiral. Gary telling her that they were going on vacation for a week was a logistical answer to her question, not a personal dig. I'm amazed and so happy that Leah is such a bright and happy little girl, despite being raised by those two ignorant pumpkin-heads.

Maci: Trying to make Ryan's "absentee" parenting her storyline for the season, while the editors show Ryan being a good parent. Heh. And Bentley's turned into such a brat. I heard that happens with boys at a certain age (?). A friend of mine had two boys and she complained that her friends with daughters didn't have to put up with that, LOL.

This is exactly my problem when it comes to Maci's segments. I don't dislike her or hate her or anything. I'm just so BORED. Except for the boyfriends changing from Kyle to Taylor, it's the same story each season.

I'm sure Ryan's parents do a lot of the heavy lifting of parenting Bentley when he's with Ryan. I get that she feels like she parents Bentley when he's with her and Ryan gets out of a lot of the hard work.

A therapist once gave me some of the best advice- you can't change other people, you can only change your reactions to them. When I complained about a family member, she asked me "how long has she been doing this?" I replied "for years." The therapist then told me, "Well, then it's unlikely she's going to change. This is who she is. What can you do to react differently?"

Someone needs to have that conversation with Maci. She knows the deal with Ryan and his parents (and who knows if they even still do most of the parenting now that Bentley is older & Ryan seems to be much more hands-on with him? Who knows what MTV is or isn't showing us). She isn't going to change anything by trying to have "talks" with him. The situation is what it is and has been that way for six years. It's time to stop resenting Ryan and trying to change him. Focus on what you can control, Maci (like finishing your associate's degree).

I don't dislike her, I just find her to be boring and repetitive. I'm telling you, replacing her with Butch as the 4th person who gets segments on this show would be reality TV trash GOLD. Teen Mom OG: Original Girls & the (Detroit Area's mulleted) Original Gangsta Butch Baltierra.

I got caught up in a number of old episodes during the past seasons marathon over the weekend and it's clear as day that nothing has really changed for any of these girls.  Sad and mostly pathetic, really.

Catelynn & Tyler:

  • As far as people as a whole, they used to not bother me too much. It just made me cringe how often they'd complain about not getting to see Carly as much as they wanted/expected, or openly fantasized about how great it'd be to have Carly at [insert event or "big moment" in their lives here].  Yeah, it's an open adoption, but you still gave her away; she's not yours to have around whenever you damn well wish.  Seeing the season's previews made my heart skip with a little beat of hope when I saw Theresa tell them, "Carly is your biological child, but she is in every other way ours."  YES!  Please, please, please let this be a much needed smackdown back to reality for Catelynn and Tyler!  I don't want them to have their throats slashed open with harsh truths, but I do want Theresa to set the record straight for them once and for all.  And honestly, as much as I hate to say this, a part of me hopes Brandon and Theresa close the adoption and let Carly decide when she's 18+ years old if she'd like to seek out C, T, and her biological sibling(s). I truly believe this will be the only way C&T will finally be forced to accept what adoption really is.
  • I really don't care if they ever tie the knot.  But it is clear as day that T either has major commitment issues or he's too chicken shit to face the fact that he really doesn't want C forever.
  • I agree with the observation that they haven't accomplished shit since high school.
  • No one can tell me that they didn't do the pregnancy test as a re-enactment for the cameras. C had to have been much further along in that scene.  For one, while she never truly lost the weight from Carly, she looked much bigger than I remember from their last season (Jesus, her boobs were huge). And two, who the hell immediately launches into planning as to how they're going to make the "big announcement" without even getting through the 1st trimester or, HELL, confirming it with a doctor first?!
  • Which leads me to my next point - I never thought of T as a famewhore until that scene and comments in this thread about that.  Yep, he's definitely sitting around everyday trying to think of ways to make the next buck by whoring themselves out to the media.
  • Mark my words, they will be April and Butch in about 10-15 years.  Once the MTV gravy train finally dries up (and it will), they will have no savings to speak of (notice T's mother commenting that once the new baby comes, he "can't keep buying cars anymore") and will end up in a trailer home at each other's throats because they don't have enough money to afford anything.  And this will be because I fully expect neither one of them to have completed their degrees in order to land a decent paying job.

Amber:

  • The ONLY good thing about Gary, ever, was his filing of Amber as '6" Eye Lash Portwood' in his phone.  HA!
  • Speaking of which, Christ on a cracker, Amber... if you're going to wear hideously long fake lashes, at least get ones that run the entire length of your eyelid and doesn't just take up the middle part of it.  Idiot.
  • She will start using drugs again.  May not be today or tomorrow, but she will someday and it will be everyone else's fault but her own, of course. /sarcasm
  • I can imagine it'd be hard for Amber to get a decent job with not only a GED, but a rap sheet that includes prison time, but what exactly is she doing to better herself these days? Does she have a plan?  Is she going to NA, counseling, or some kind of program that helps former convicts get a job?  I'm afraid we'll see her end up back in the news because her body fused itself to her couch.
  • Did Gary's girlfriend seriously start crying when he said "No one around these parts gets married," or was that just creative editing to make her look as pathetic as she really is for being/staying with him?

Maci:

  • Had Maci not graduated high school, she totally would have been another Amber and still be struggling to get her GED years later as evidenced by her inability to earn her college degree despite not having Bentley 24/7 once he started going to preschool. She's lucky she's gotten a decent edit all of these years because she truly is a lazy ass, too.
  • Although Ryan is a major douchenozzle and I don't want to be superficial, I still have to say it: he is a pretty good looking guy and Maci has consistently majorly downgraded with each boyfriend after him.  I thought Kyle was rather "challenged looking", but hell, I'd still pick his ass over this new live-in loser.  I don't get it!  I have always thought that Maci, despite her faults, was a relatively pretty girl.  Her hair doesn't need to be so flamingly clown red, but she always struck me as a typical pretty southern girl next door type who could easily get good looking southern boys.  Damn, Maci... take off the beer goggles.
  • I kind of think Ryan's mom was being a stealthy bitch with her "advice" to Maci.  Maybe her advised approach to Ryan was good in some ways, but I also think she was secretly hoping it'd get Maci to open her eyes as to how she could make the communication better with Ryan if she asked him because God knows Maci could work on it, too.

Farrah:

  • Since she wasn't really in this episode (besides the TRUTH! she spoke at the "Couples Therapy" reunion about C&T), I'll get to her once she arrives for the season.  I know her batshittiness will give me plenty to speak about.

Of course Taylor wants to make a dollar for everything they do because how else are they going to pay that mortgage? I laughed at Taylor when he said they were steady and "owned their own home". I yelled out, "Yeah, with MTV money!" Without MTV, you'd still be two lost souls with no career, no education, and likely on welfare.

I hate how these people love to brag they own a home, as if they accomplished something major in their lives. Even drug dealers can buy a home. Buying a home should be because one can afford it, they worked hard for it, and they have the means to maintain it without selling their souls to MTV.

April is a hoot.  When she mentioned how "a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do" with regards to Farrah, I kinda got the feeling April applauds Farrah for all that she has because of how she used her MTV status. April probably would go that route if she were that young too. lol

A baby is a bigger commitment than a marriage (you can divorce a spouse but not a kid & you're stuck dealing with the kid's other parents for at least 18 years):.

Maybe I'm weird but I so hate this statement... what, when the kid turns 19 you drop them off at the curb and never see them again?

I love my parents - both of them, and it kills me that they can barely be in the same location together after they were married for over 20 years. I'm 41 and it still bothers me! It's not 18 years, it's the child's whole life. Sorry, not snarking on you at all, just on the 18 years thought.

If that were to happen that's when I would seriously stop watching. A wife abusing, child neglecting, career criminal isn't entertaining to me at all.

I can't stand that piece of shit.

It annoys me how Maci acts all righteous that she lives in a house she purchased whereas Ryan lives with his parents. Let's see her try to buy a house at 22 with no job and no college degree. Honestly in this day and age a guy Ryan's age still living at home to save money isn't unusual and we have no idea what his pay from MTV has been. Maybe we should be applauding him for not squandering it.

I was accounting for Bentley's bratty behavior as being the result of Maci's latest baby daddy moving in.  Didn't she say he'd recently moved in?

I had the same thought. She blamed it on being the first day of filming, which might have something to do with it as well. But kids often show their butts when there's a big change in the family structure, like a new dude moving in. And, in reality, I've always thought Bentley was kind of spoiled and babied.
