Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

The Politics Policy is still in effect. A participants social media is NOT an invitation to discuss their political view points. Consider if discussion of certain social media posts will cause you to violate the politics policy BEFORE you hit the "Submit Reply" button.

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

I bet they are terrified every minute the parents are gone. Surely the food was inventoried before jill left so no extra would be eaten and they are surely trained to rat each other out on any little thing.

My MIL would leave for a few days when her kids were teenagers. FIL and all the kids knew you did not touch the pots and pans or use real plates. Once when i was there, fil and 3 teenagers were all actually afraid to cook a chef boyardee pizza kit in a box because she would know they used it and used a pan to bake the thing.

also there was no touching her washing machine and yes she is still a control freak to this day.

Sounds familiar.  You never touched my mother's washing machine, and she stacked the plates in the cabinet with a paper plate on top of each plate.  You ate on the paper plate so you wouldn't need to wash the "good" plate.  Folding all the laundry was expected, however.

Great, although I would've liked it even better if it said "Praise the Lord Daniel."

Jill is on a roll again. First, all the photos and gushy words about her HOT hubby (cough, cough) and their lovely hotel stay. Now, photos of the family taking over a laundromat and making memories by singing gospel music at the top of their lungs while folding laundry.

Jilly Puff tends to do this kind of thing when her wittle fillin's are hurt by MEAN people on the Internet. I bet it's criticism about her begging for food and donations after the storm because of their "strenuous" financial times, and then driving off with David to a three-day convention trip with a nice hotel and fancy dinner. Who knows?

Jill can dish it out to people she feels are beneath her, but she can't take any criticism back. Maybe she should just put her phone down and walk away.

I could not work after Hurricane Sandy (bartender and my restaurants were closed for 2 or more weeks due to power and damage).  But I actually did all right because 13 days powerless meant no electric, gas and natural gas usage. Very little water at $1200 a quarter helped too. And it was late October to early November so we wore layers.  Actually cooked as much food as I could in the fireplace and on the grill. She is just a lazy bitch and a grifter’s grifter.

Yup, the poor not-Nurie at the upper right is just LOVING the memory of folding GWE's GIANT shorts. . . NOT.

(photos higher up) Oh, and the Jill on a scooter at the Plexus convention photo: Was that her attempt at a smoky eye look? Just looks like someone punched her. . ..

Because they have to show what a close loving family they are, who just can’t bear to be apart, and because god knows none of those kids can be home alone for a minute without falling into the hands of satan.  Or maybe they were expecting the second coming of Lord Daniel of the Laundromat!

I wonder which poor kid got the lucky job of washing and folding GWE’s tighty whities.

Jonathan's cousin got married this past weekend. mother of the bride is the person that arranged jonathan and kaylee to meet and is in jill's plexus downline. seems no rods were at the wedding and oh the bride insisted on dancing with the groom and her father.  maybe I am wrong and the rods traveled to PA this past weekend and Jill will post all about it 2 weeks from now.

In that Plexus shot, Jill's filtered her face to the point of erasing not only all her lines and wrinkles but her chin and both ears as well.

The pink nails, shirt, and hat make her look like a guide at a theme park.

The Rod girls are selling earrings again.  Jill allowed them to post a short video advertising the goods (or bads) on Facebook.

Well yeah, how else is Jill going to pay for scooter rentals?   She certainly isn't using any money from her OWN work.

JillR has spent a good portion of her life breeding for the grift. As I mentioned before, she is now in the "season of life" when she is starting to lose her mouths to feed. When will her panic set in? Losing Tim and the two NotNuries will put them in single digits. I mean like during the next Ohio Derecho, she might have, say, only 5 mouths to feed.

JillR is the only parent who will lose money when she has less kids at home. I hope God finds "his timing" is to marry off the Rod kidults toot sweet.

Could it be he is fresh from a bath and it is water? I have pictures of my son like that. Then again, with these people it probably is product.

One Bates couple lives in an RV, another Bates family of 7 renoed a tiny pull along camper, the arguably most financially successful Bates family is on their way to pick up a new camper, FF & Anna have a camper, Joy & Austin have a camper and now Jed and Katey are going to reno a camper. Obliviously JB & M have had a few, as well as the Rods.

I'm not knocking campers, I come from a long line of boaters which is basically RVing on water and I know the pandemic brought out a host of new RV owners, but what is it with Fundies and RVs/campers? Is it like a prereq? Is it a status symbol? Is it a safety net? It just seems to me the ratio of Fundy RV ownership is pretty high.

Of course she is.  She’s been watching her idiot mother do it for 2 decades.  Not only that but she sits him down, bare legged, in stiff, skin-irritating grass.  And she couldn’t get him to smile even once.  That poor, pitiful baby.  What a shitty life he has ahead of him. 😢

That is a weird angle for Nemo. His head looks HUGE and his little legs look spindly…

My BFF loves babies and always wants to "eat them up," "bite their fat cheeks," etc. (yes, she's a weirdo).  I think little Nemo would be safe around her, though.  He's looking a little too gamey and ropey for her taste.   🤣😆

Poor little guy.

At least he'll have a few years of eating before the "blessings" exceed Nathan's income. Then he'll learn how to fast so the little ones will get a few bites of food. Nurie will blanket train so Nemo will learn to flash a big smile every time a camera turns toward him. Nurie knows little more than what her parents taught her. Poor little guy will have no education, no job prospects, and will probably end up in a camper in his parents' backyard.

Which couple lives in an RV? I can see large families needing campers to house their many people when they visit each other.

As was answered, Nathan and Esther live in an RV.

So having RVs/campers is a space thing? Kind of like Jill and Jessa needing guest rooms?

I hope there weren't fire ants there; I don't ever walk through grass in Florida for fear of being bitten and she plops the kid right down.

Don't forget that Joy, Austin, and baby Giddyup lived in an RV for awhile as Austin renovated their current house.

And JD and Abby technically live in a (non) mobile home. Not one that will ever move, but a "mobile" home, none the less.

I don’t know about fundies, but we have always preferred a camper to a hotel room. We aren’t sleeping in a bed, walking on carpet or using a tub that  thousands of other people have used, we only have to pack once, can make the food we like at a much lower cost than we could get at a restaurant. It’s just all around more comfortable for us. It’s even more convenient with small children. And, if you get stuck in traffic you have a clean bathroom available- we were once stuck in traffic for 6 hours during a hurricane evacuation and never so happy to have our little house attached.

ETA: Many, many people live in mobile homes. They are not necessarily less than a house. JD and Abbie’s looked quite nice inside.

Living in one is quite different than spending $$$$ to buy one for fun. What do they cost these days?

Since I'm the only one who mentioned a mobile home, I assume this is directed at me. I never said or implied it is less than.

Came back just to clarify my original post - I explicitly said I'm not knocking RVs/campers. I just think its odd that SO MANY Fundies have them.

Fire ants are very common in FL.  My mom has a house there, and I stepped barefoot into a large group of them.  I used words that my mother has never heard come out of my mouth before.
