As Ian beings to regain some of his senses, he is upset to find himself under a mandatory 72-hour hold at the psych ward.

Meanwhile, when Frank returns home from the hospital refusing to apologize to Sammi and with a new determination to take care of himself without her help, Sammi is forced to take more drastic measures to teach Frank a valuable lesson.

In the aftermath of her sleeping with Jimmy, Fiona must make tough decisions regarding her potential romantic future with Jimmy or Gus.

Lip learns that he never filled out his financial aid forms and that his tuition is short $12 thousand. Debbie works hard to get out of the ‘friend zone’ with Derek. Carl seizes an opportunity from Sammi to make Chuckie his slave. And after V moves out, Svetlana moves in with Kev in exchange for the performance of some odd ‘wifely duties’.

Why does Sammi get so much screen time and Ian so little. Would much rather see more of his POV. Mickey :( why cant Ian/Mickey ever be happy for more than 2 seconds.

Bye, Jimmy-Steve. Please don't come back. Im glad Fiona got closure but his return was such a mess. Not really needed Imo.

Haven't we all wanted to shoot Frank at one point or another?

Good for Fiona making a good choice for a change

A lip entering the bottomless pit of credit card debt. I be pissed to. Getting a PO box was a smart move. He actually should have gotten one sooner.

I am actually enjoying Carl and Debbie's stories this season. Debbie getting a age appropriate boyfriend and Carl stepping in for Chucky but then making him his personal servant.

I continue to dislike Debbie, I don't know what it is.  Everything she does or says is just so incredibly LOATHSOME to me.

Carls story was enjoyable and typically Shameless.    I like that he seems completely indifferent to Sammi and Chuckie unless there is something in it for him.

Sammi.......Ick.

Felt so bad for Ian.   Is being that out of it normal because of medication being new the system or has he really snapped.

Mickey may have an interesting time ahead in that he may be TOO invested in Ian.  His relationship with Ygevnny and Svetlana is complicated to say the least but Ian is off, hopefully on the road to getting better and without Ian, Mickey apparently doesn't have much.   I don't think self-reflection is a big Mickey trait so the story may not go that way but it's still a very interesting flaw to give an already VERY interesting character.

The many loves of Fiona Gallagher...... She may deserve better than Jimmy, Gus, But you deserve better than Her.   Fiona is such a wreck IMO.

LOATHE Svetlanna for moving in on Kev, now I am firmly on Vee's side.   Prior to this ep I was middle of the road with more leniency towards Kev, but now....Ugh.

Not a bad episode.

I can't believe how good a job they are doing with Ian's story.  It's erie.  I have bipolar disorder, been hospitalized, been sedated.  That camera work showing his perspective was just so spot on.  It's not always like that, but it can be, especially when coming down from mania.

Holy depressing episode. I am glad Fiona chose Gus, but the rest felt so damn sad. Especially Ian. I really hope this doesn't mean Mickey's gonna crash and burn soon too.

Maybe now Stimmy-Jack will finally be gone. Not that I dislike him and Fiona together, but Alice(?) at the end was right, he is a shitty person. He had so many aliases Fiona'd never know who he really was. At least Gus seems stable. Or at least, not a professional car thief/drug dealer. I would like to see something work out well for once on this show, and not just more fucked up-tedness. Like Sammi. Wow.

Lip is pretty much screwed. Maybe he'll contact Amanda (or her dad) for the rest of his tuition..

They had a bit of continuity issues  with the seasons tonight,

When Debbie  went to school the trees still had leaves and in other shots it looked like late Nov when they came  to Chicago for exterior filming.

I thought they'd go there first, but, then, he knew about the credit cards through Amanda anyway, and he needed to extricate himself even more from the Gallagher home first in terms of getting a separate mailbox (we got mail at school back when I went, and, as an RA, I was kept abreast of all the financial stuff anyway. Isn't Lip officially in that position now? Also, office hours just means you HAVE to available during that time, but you are always expected to do your job, Lip. That's why board is paid for.)

As always, I hate where Fiona is, not taking care of the kids, and letting Sammi, of all people, replace her; but she did actually make a smart choice for once. I hope she and Gus work out. He's pretty awesome. Plus, he punched StmmyJack.

Glad Debbie's guy is interested in her. I thought they'd go the typical route and have him see her as "one of the guys", and fall for a more traditional "girlie" girl. She needed a win in that department.

I hope Ian gets some actual hope, and not just institutionalization. Mickey probably needs to meet with somone if he's going to be caretaking for the rest of his life.

The only enjoyable part of this episode was Mickey putting Svetlana in her place. It will probably all be undone by the end of the season but it is a moment that I will treasure.

I don't know what's going on with Vee & she's kind of annoying me but Kevin's self-righteous ass, giving himself permission to neglect his wife and then cheat on her is really pissing me off. I don't think I even want them to work it out. I just feel bad for those babies.

Watching Debbie, the bully and unrepentant rapist, triumph in love was gross.

Debbie nonchalantly mentioning that Fiona doesn't live there anymore was so disturbing. How is everyone okay with this? Carl & Debbie have been raising themselves for a while now. I guess Liam is deemed old enough now, too. Last season Lip was all over Fiona about her being irresponsible and Fiona was all weepy and begging Lip to bring Liam back. Now, her interaction with Liam this season has consisted of putting up a pool & a single pat to the head. The characterisation on this show is a mess.

Ian & Mickey are so depressing. As difficult as it is to watch this storyline I am glad that the showrunner/writers are committed to seeing it through, through all the ugliness and pain. If you're going to deal with such a serious topic do it properly. So kudos to them for that. It's the only thing I can praise Shameless for this season. I do hope there is some relief soon, though.

I was shocked that Jimmy acquiesced to Fiona's request and left. Of course, to counter that, I was not at all shocked when his partner in crime revealed that the Dubai job got canceled that morning by the client and that Jimmy was just lying to Fiona about giving it up.

As annoying as I find Sammi, it's a good thing she is around to take care of Liam while Debbie and Carl are in school because obviously Fiona isn't watching him at all anymore. I found it kind of hilarious that everyone freaked out when Sammi pulled a gun on Frank. You can do a lot in the Gallagher house that no one will even blink at, but I guess we just saw what constitutes crossing the crazy line in that family.

When I was in college, we each had a campus mailing address and that's where all of our official campus mail went. I'm not sure why his financial aid package was sent registered mail to his house though. I'm pretty sure that the last two years I was in school, I got stuff like that emailed to me and I could see all my financial aid/registration stuff by logging in to the school website.

Schools can do all kinds of things to help you in situations like Lip's (especially private schools). They can temporarily waive your fees, they can get you private loans, etc. I had something similar happen to me one semester. I couldn't register for classes and was told that I had a hold because of my financial aid. When I went to the financial aid office, they said I had an outstanding balance of several thousand dollars. I don't remember exactly what happened, but what I do remember is that I ended up having to take out a supplemental loan, as did my parents.

Another option for Lip would be to see if he can withdraw for the semester and then start again next term once his financial aid is all straightened out. It might be a pain in the ass because he's an RA (meaning they would have to find someone else to take over his floor for the current semester) but it's doable.

Poor Mickey. I thought Fiona might have to hug him after they saw Ian.

I hope Ian gets some actual hope, and not just institutionalization. Mickey probably needs to meet with somone if he's going to be caretaking for the rest of his life.

I think the first thing that needs to happen is Ian needs to admit he is bipolar. Until he does that, he is not going to get any better. Right now he thinks he isn't bipolar just because he hasn't done any of the exact same things that Monica did. He still can't admit that he left the baby alone in the car for 20 minutes or that he was saying crazy things. That may very well be because he still believes that the police were trying to steal the baby from him but that is the point. He needs to be able to see what has happened, admit what happened, and want to prevent it from happening again.

If Mickey doesn't care enough to protect his child I'm glad Svetlana does, wish she could have done it without the skeevy wife stuff with Kevin. Who is an ass. In previous episodes I thought he and Vee both had valid points and needed to meet in the middle to make things work but now I hope he crawls before they inevitably get back together.

Fiona made a non self destructive decision yay! The situation at the house is still weird and I can't believe she's passed all responsibility onto Sammie. If Fiona had been at the house when Sammie shot Frank I'd have some hope that she and Gus would move in and displace the psycho but I think she likes the two things being separate too much do it over second hand information.

I have a hard time buying into Lip's storyline he should be all too aware of the whens and hows of his finances, a little paranoia about money is a side effect of not having any. But okay they want him to have a massive credit card debt I'm willing to see where that goes.

Ian's storyline is just sad, I think Lip will probably be the one to help him break through his denial.

I really thought that Fiona would be the one saying the episode title to someone (either Jimmy or Gus).

Sammi really is cuckoo if she can go from shooting Frank to doting on him as soon as he says he needs her. I did laugh at her literally pouring salt on his wound though.

I guess Jimmy isn't officially gone for good since his job was cancelled, but glad to see Fiona telling him it was over. I want to see more of Gus,he really seems like a good guy, yet showed he isn't perfect by punching Jimmy.

I'm not taking the Svetlana/Kevin thing too seriously, since she's a prostitute, I guess she feels her moves on him are her way of paying  her share to live there. It was pretty hilarious to hear her refer to Ian first as I Love Lucy and then Danny Bonoduce...who knew she'd be so familiar with American tv shows?

Ian , wow, I hope he gets out of there soon. I have a feeling that the actor is going to end up leaving the show because he's been making movies, too, and want to see him on screen as much as possible.

Both Sammi and Debbie are badasses. But I guess in the Gallagher household, it's a necessity.

what is WITH debbie? i truly expect her to lift her leg and start peeing on cute boys. she is so boy obsessed. it's really off putting. nothing wrong with liking boys, but i dont know man. she takes it to a level in which i constantly have to look away from the screen and pray she shuts up.

sammi is annoying. grass is green. sky is blue. ok, next!

not enough Ian. they did a great job in showing his POV last episode and this episode? nothing really.

Glad Jimmy/jack/steve is gone. for good? yeah right. in season 8 or something, i bet he will show up.

lip...didn't care.

frank, didn't care.

veronica/kevin - i am not sure what is going on there. I can't side with Veronica at all. i understand she has needs, but i dont know what's so wrong about kevin caring for the babies. good god veronica, get over it.

Yeah Vee needs to work some of her shit out, especially about the girls. I totally agreed with her mom about seeing your partner being a good and involved parent can be a turn on, and I guess Vee just doesn't get it. I also don't get how she couldn't expect things to change after them becoming parents, besides the extra mouths to feed. Fucking come on, she is BFF with Fiona, she knows what having kids around is like. Parenthood should not have been that much of a shock to her. Maybe they'll go the way of post-partum with her or something, who knows. Oddly enough though, I kind of like Svetlana and Kev as a pair.

i have thought of postpartum, but this is shameless. I doubt we'll see them delve into that.

notice debbie raped a guy and mentioned it yesterday like it was nothing? not saying rape is the same as postpartum. i just dont think this show tends to focus on serious issues very well.

I think we've seen over the course of the past few episodes and last season that everyone has adjusted to doing their part in taking are of Liam. Carl, Debbie and Sammi have kept their eye on him. At the end of the day Fiona is just his sister and they are also just his siblings.

I was shocked that Jimmy acquiesced to Fiona's request and left. Of course, to counter that, I was not at all shocked when his partner in crime revealed that the Dubai job got canceled that morning by the client and that Jimmy was just lying to Fiona about giving it up.

I think this was a great moment for Fiona. I was hoping, as she walked away she'd smile because to me finding out that Jimmy had lied to her again after she told him to let her go was a signal to her that she had made the right decision. Hopefully now she will continue to make positive choices.

When I was in school, since financial aid is done over the summer or earlier when dorms are closed or just open to summer session people, my forms were always sent to my home address since that is likely where I would be. Also since my parents had jobs they would be the ones putting in their own financial information so it made sense for it to go directly home.  I also, like Lip, didn't know that I had to fill it out every single year but I had siblings who went to college and informed me.

I love Sammi finding her place with the family. It fits in nicely and makes her slightly less annoying than she was last season. She is making the kids breakfast and taking care of the house (and Liam) and none of it seems that weird since she is their sister and seems to have a good heart.

I don't like the idea of Svetlana moving in with Kevin and offering her "services" but I do like their interactions together so that Kevin has someone to talk to other than Vee and her mother since Fiona is really Vee's friend.  I also like that no matter what you think about what Svetlana does, she does care enough about that baby to grab him and move out when Mickey refuses to see how having Ian around after that incident isn't something only he should have the final say over.  I do suspect Mickey, coming home and finding an empty house, will make him snap out of it. Ian is gone, Mandy is gone, Svetlana and his son are gone; it's just him now.

I cannot imagine Mickey snapping out of anything. At this point, he seems shaken to the core by Ian's illness. Besides I think that "family" only worked because of Ian. Mickey cares about Evgeni, but he isn't in any state to parent a child or deal with Svetlana's demands at the moment.

I don't blame Svetlana for not wanting Ian around Evgeni, but she cannot expect Mickey to turf out his ill boyfriend. Living with someone with an uncontrolled mental illness can be difficult so to be cold as ice, Svetlana needs to move out (like she did) or arrange some type of child care when Ian comes back home.

I actually thought that guy Debbie likes was gay.

Lip's situation happens, but the university usually has some type of deferment in place. He needs to get Amanda to help him out financially.

ETA: I loved when Mickey said that he was Ian's boyfriend and Fiona smiled. Mickey has come a long way.

No, she is his legal guardian. Which is something she fought very hard and passionately for. For what? To move out, do her own thing and vaguely hope that someone, anyone remembers to feed, clothe, bathe him etc,? She is also legally responsible for Carl, Debbie & Ian (perpetual 17 yr old) - drug dealer, rapist & pornstar/babynapper respectively. Frank needs to dig up that number for CPS again. If this was just a continuation of the season 4 plot where Fiona was shown spiralling out of control and becoming more irresponsible it would be annoying but I would get it. Instead it's as if this is normal; that the Gallaghers are just these unfortunate kids with shitty parents and each of them has just always had to fend for him/herself. Like the first 3 seasons never happened.

We had twins. They are fucking hard. So I understand both sides of Kev and Vee, because I honestly don't remember three full years. That said, I side with Kev in this because Vee was always good to say no. She always had that ability, and she didn't. it might have been an oversight or a mistake, but once you have the kids -- especially multiples -- they take over everything.

And while it's been all forgotten, let's not forget that Vee's a fucked up as any of them. The first season she was an online Dominatrix -- not that there's anything wrong with that, but when you're on the societal and sexual fringes, perspectives tend to be a bit skewed.

I like the character of Svetlana because everything is so matter-of-fact to her -- the way she was brought up and the way she's had to live, of course she would assume that Kev taking her in included "wifely duties." She's no other frame of reference.

The only thing that felt false to me was Lip's financial aid stuff -- I'd like to think there would be some sort of reminder/notification that would have let him know things were due. But, then again, just being smart doesn't mean your omniscient -- he had no experience with aid, so he might not have understood the particular hoops that must be perpetually let through.

THIS. THIS. THIS. SO MUCH THIS. i do not understand what the hell this show is doing with Fiona. Ian went missing last season and she seemed okay with that. then it became obvious Ian had a problem, but she was okay with him living with Mickey. If i were Fiona, I would be so far up Mickey's ass. 'you love my brother and that is great, but he needs to get help. got a problem with that? too bad. i am his legal guardian, so step the hell aside....'

apparently men > family

Why does Sammi get so much screen time and Ian so little. Would much rather see more of his POV.

must be nice to literally be a new character on a show that's already got many established characters and then take over the majority of the screentime from everyone else. the actress got a hell of a deal there, tell you what...

Thank you! Vee went from wanting kids so badly that she was willing to let her husband fuck her own mother to have them, and now she hates them and acknowledges them only when complaining about her husband loving them more than her (OMG SERIOUSLY VEE? Who wouldn't love adorable babies more than your bitchy ass right now?) and is completely flummoxed that babies are so challenging when she's lived next door to chaos central for years. In season 1 she was like an aunt to the Gallagher kids and Kev was the one complaining about them disrupting his life, and she told him to just get over it. Now she has their own biological babies and she's like "kids whaaaat? I just want to fuck and party!"

I would understand Vee's rants about needing to preserve their coupledom and sex life, that side of things IS important when you have kids and it takes work. Kev should be willing to do the work. But she's torpedoed my sympathy for her by acting like such a giant bitch and being such a terrible neglectufl mother. Svetlana, who apparently hauled baby Yvgeny around in just a onesie during a Chicago winter last season, is a better mother than Vee by a country mile.

Party of two, you and me, but I'm right there with you on that. It's weird because I recognize the actress does a good job with the role, but there's something so off about her character, and the more boy-obsessed she becomes the more off-putting I find her.

I can't figure out if "Jack" was supposed to be a joke or if it's yet another one of Jimmy's aliases. We know his own family called him Jimmy so I've always assumed that was his real name. It would be a big retcon if he turned out to be Jack.

I can't feel too bad for Lip because he should have been more proactive about something as important as the very grant that pays his tuition and not simply assume he never had to do anything but let someone else foot the bill. He's supposed to be the smart one. I'm surprised Amanda didn't ask him about it either.

I actually find Debbie to be my favorite character who isn't Ian and Mickey. I find her growing pains to be fascinating.

I don't because the older Debbie gets, the worse she gets. She has gone from kidnapping one boy from his own birthday party because she was lonely to raping another and now she's practically bullied yet another into being her boyfriend, like that'll go much, if any, better than her and Matty did.

I actually find Debbie to be my favorite character who isn't Ian and Mickey. I find her growing pains to be fascinating.

I'm with you. Deb is struggling to find herself. She doesn't fit the pretty girl mold like her trashy friend. Her friend was picking up older guys, so she thought it was normal.

She has had very little guidance from her siblings. What she does see is that they have sex lives and relationships. Even if most of them are disfunctional.

When her current love interest stood up for her it was a first. Who goes to bat for her? No one really.

Her sister didn't even know she was starting high school.

I don't because the older Debbie gets, the worse she gets. She has gone from kidnapping one boy from his own birthday party because she was lonely to raping another and now she's practically bullied yet another into being her boyfriend, like that'll go much, if any, better than her and Matty did.

I'm curious, how did she bully him?

I'm just glad Deb has finally found someone age appropriate to date, hopefully this guy is good for her.  IIRC the skanky girls told Deb to go after older guys. She was frustrated with being a virgin and took a bizarre opportunity to "lose it".  I'm not sure where the show was trying to go with that, but I don't hold it against her character.  They are all messed up in one way or another.

I get being annoyed by a character's storyline, sometimes Sammi annoys me.  But, Last night I actually liked her crazy butt, even shooting Frank.  Someone had to be the one, I'm sure plenty of people want to shoot Frank.  I laughed when she flashed the trash truck to get it to stop.  Sometimes she's okay.

I love Svetlana's character, and don't mind her sticking around.   I love the accent and the stuff she makes up.  Not sure if they are going the post -partum route with V, but it drives me nuts to see a mom not interested in her babies.

Link to comment

The reason Svetlana's offer of wifely duties didn't bother me is that she was a prostitute and a surrogate mother. She sees her body as a commodity. She needs a place to stay but she has no way to pay Kev rent money so in her mind it's logical to offer her services in exchange for a roof over her head.

They have never treated men being victimized by women very seriously on this show. It's never mentioned that Mickey was raped, even though he is forced to interact with his rapist. I know his dad was the true assailant in that scenario, but still, you'd think he would be very uncomfortable around her. I'd be shocked if they ever had any repurcussions for Debbie.

Lip's college troubles are one of my favourite parts of the show -- they ring very true to me, and it's one of the only times the show seems to take class differences seriously. I loved that little moment at the end of the episode where he goes and gets a mailbox because he can't send his mail to his house anymore -- it's such a small thing, but it speaks volumes about the distance that's growing between him and his family as he starts to aspire to more.

I rarely agree with Sammi, but I think that when she screamed, "We are all adults here! Take responsibility!" it got through to Lip that as much as he may love his family, he has to take responsibility for his life. Debbie wasn't trying to be flippant when she said they didn't know how important that one piece of mail was. Lip knows that house is full of chaos so taking that step to get his own mailbox is acknowledging that he doesn't want to have hos life screwed up because of it. No one kept his mail out of malice but they are so busy living day to day that they don't understand what a huge repercussion that missing envelope has had on Lip's life. You really shouldn't have to get five credit cards just to put a dent in your tuition. Telling the financial aid office that his paperwork has been sitting at his house for months isn't going to fix anything. But getting this mailbox is a small way of Lip saying that he not going to let his family screw up college for him. This is the third time this season that we have seen him make an active effort to separate himself from the neighborhood. I am glad to see his determination not to get sucked back in by default.

With the exception of Ian and Mickey's story (which has been handled very well) this season has been such a mess. I feel like nothing is operating in the reality they spent 4 previous seasons building. Like a few others mentioned, why the hell has Fiona essentially abandoned her family to the care of a psycho? Why is Sammi living at the Gallaghers? Why can she pull out a loaded gun, shoot someone in the kitchen, and then come back there the next day? The Lip of last season would've kicked her the hell out after that crap. Fiona once kicked her dying grandma out for having a method lab in the basement, but this crazy woman can threaten the kids' lives?

And remember when no matter what else was going on in Fiona's love life she still had to worry about money, do chores, and hustle like mad? All the little day to day moments of what it's like to actually live below the poverty line have disappeared. I refuse to believe that her diner job can support the whole household. It's not realistic. But not much is realistic on this show anymore except poor Mickey and Ian.

And I really miss Sheila. I feel like we traded her for Sammi and it's not a fair trade.

I am enjoying Lip's story so far. I hope that they let him push through and graduate. It is ultimately the Gallagher siblings one hope out of poverty.

I think Sammi is in the house to temporarily relieve Fiona, but the writers are making a mistake there. What sells the Gallaghers is Fiona love for her siblings and their devotion to each other. Separating her from them so she can focus on her love life does not work. It is probably the function of the writers running on fumes in season 5.

While I like Svetlana and that she loves Evgeni, I have issues with her attitude toward Mickey and Ian. She knew from the start that Mickey was gay and that he forced to have sex with her and then coerced into marrying her. Also, there is no way that she can be even 1% sure that Mickey is Evgeni's biological father. Yet, Svetlana at times acts like they have this perfectly normal marriage. Her expectations from Mickey are unrealistic and her resentment of Ian, while maybe human nature, is ridiculous. If anything Ian is the one who should hate the hell out of her. She should count herself lucky that Ian is such a nice guy that he didn't push Mickey into having a DNA test done and kick her out.

I like Debbie and it is easy. She is not deliberately cruel or malicious. She is young girl hitting puberty so going boy crazy is pretty normal. Unfortunately, Debbie has no proper adult supervision so she has made some poor choices. She is floating around life trying to figure out sex and relationships. She made a terrible mistake with Matty having sex with him without his consent, but I think that it is forgivable as long as she does not become a serial rapist,

for those of you who like debbie, can i ask why? i mean, this show had her rape a boy and she still doesn't seem to comprehend what she did. debbie has always been shown (in the past anyway) to be quite smart and caring of others. this season, it's like boys > brains.

i dont understand it at all.

She's 14. I am not saying what she did wasnt wrong but Maddy is twice her age and was the adult and should have cut her off a long time ago. There was no malice in what Debbie did.. She wasn't trying to hurt anyone. She wasn't trying to exert power over anyone. She thought they were on a date and that he liked her. (Which he did). He was the king of mixed messages. And Debbie had been getting mixed messages about boys and sex from the start. (When boys get hardons they want sex being the most prevalent). She is a kid who made a horrible mistake. She is not a bad person or evil. Edited by Chaos Theory

I'm blanking, but what exactly is it that Jimmy does?  What is this job he was supposed to be doing in Dubai?

They haven't said. That lady he's working with who's been flirting with Fiona called him a good thief. I can only assume whatever scheme they had planned in Dubai was not on the up and up. Jimmy stole cars for a living before the whole Estefania debacle. I'm guessing whatever they were planning to do in Dubai involved thievery.

I don't understand how anyone who has seen the messages that Debbie has gotten about boys and sex over the last five seasons can seriously not understand why she would think the way that she did, or that she would fully understand what she was doing when it came to Matty. The girl has had zero decent guidance whatsoever about sex and relationships; god knows her siblings haven't set any kind of example of what a functional relationship looks like. She's completely adrift.

Exactly! I also thought of Carl, he isn't getting decent guidance either. I love his character too. I actually love most of the characters on this show. I will be bummed when it comes to an end.

I find Lips college issues interesting. I root for him to make it. I bet it would be hard to navigate with no help. I'm kind of surprised he didn't ask the gf for the $, guess he has more pride than that?

I also like how the show always seems to be current on some way with social issues. Like the gentrification focus in this season. That's a hot topic where I live.

I thought Lip was going to ask the girlfriend too, but then I remembered the show made sure that wasn't possible by having her say her dad had taken away all her credit cards, so she just has the one with a 1,000 limit.  I guess he could have asked her dad for a loan and say he would pay him back with the money from next summer's job that the dad said he would set him up with and after he graduates but that would be pretty awkward and strange.

The Debbie/rape storyline to me isn't a deal breaker.  I realize there was a lot going on in terms of Debbie's upbringing, differences between men and women, and society's views on male rape (GQ had an article about women raping men on college campuses about 10 years ago, I remember a lot of people were indifferent to the idea "guys like sex anyways and wouldn't care").  But Deb's storylines are relentlessly the same, so it's hard for me not to get annoyed with her lately.

I think Carl is going to be very handsome when he's an adult.  You just never know with child actors... but I think he has a shot of continuing his career after the show.

The writers obviously want nothing to do with Liam.  They wouldn't age him, he is basically mute, and it makes zero sense that Fiona has abandoned him.  They should have had social services or Monica take him away at this point.

Well, at least they have started using boyfriend instead of lover now! And Fiona and Mickey clearly need more scenes together. Loved when she kicked him in the waiting room when he was getting pissed at that guy for starring. Then of course it turns into relentless heartbreak. The Ian and Mickey stuff is so good, that it`s kind of hurting my enjoyment of the rest of the show. I really like most of the other story lines as well, but I am so into their story, I`m counting the seconds until they pop back onto the screen.

I don't want to be that guy, but I am. That`s what this show has done to me!

Last season, I defended keeping Frank on the show, but now I basically roll my eyes whenever he pops up. Please focus on someone else. Anyone else. Literally anyone. Give Angela a subplot. Ian and Mickeys gay vet friends. The mail lady. Freaking anybody. LIAM!

Really, every character on this show should be in therapy for, like, ever. Especially Carl, Debs, and Mickey. But I don't think they can afford that, so...

They should just SORAS Liam next season.  Aging him up to about 10 wouldn't be any worse than some of the other shit Shameless wanted me to buy into.

I think it's that she's incessantly whining about something no matter the situation, which makes her extremely annoying.
