I'm all for calling off the show because of weather. It's a pet peeve of mine when businesses stay open during blizzards or subzero temps and expect their associates and clerks to work those shifts at no money and put their lives at risk just driving to work. The View crew should take the day off.

I wish Whoopi had never waked up this season after her snooze fest the last couple of years.I agree

And also think she is threatened about RO's moderator skills.....and was from the get-go this seasonhe .

She must have a great DR with her wealth, insurance and connections and yet she is so ignorant about her condition. I find that hard to believe .Especially the way she moves.

The way she moves her body, imo, is very suspicious with a serious back problem. And she is not talking about physical therapy etc.

I am so over her.

To borrow from the Grinch:  "Stink, Stank, Stunk"!

I don't think there was a coherent thought on the entire show today.

Nicholle said the most stupid things during the shopping segment - "for kids?" on the pillows, and "what do you need 11 brushes for ?" regarding cosmetic brushes.

I think they all took stupid pills today!

I don't know why one would need eleven brushes!

I came here to see the comments about today's show. You haven't disappointed. When Whoopi pulled the earpiece out and shoved it onto the table I thought .... uh oh ...

Stacy London needs to take it down a notch. Mugging for the camera like an 8 year old is not attractive...just desperate.

I never thought I'd see Stacy London (isn't she supposed to be some big stylist?) and Whoopi at the same table.  She seemed desperate to me too - desperate for a seat at the table.  Or maybe she had to take a pill to resist trying to makeover Whoopi's outfit.

Medicine Crow, If she's taking oxy, that's really bad. I had a severe back issue a few years ago. It's no fun, and mine took a long time to heal. I still have some problems, but nothing like when it was acute. I promise you, I would never have been able to get up and down and dance around like the Whoopster...pain pills or no.

Ditto. This, together with the utterly blank look she got on her face when she was asked which vertebra she was having problems with and then claiming that she had no idea that they were lettered and numbered, leads me to wonder if there's something…well…less than truthful with her story. Just sayin, something feels very off there.

You know, I usually take the rumor mill with a pretty ginormous grain of salt, but a while back there were a lot of rumors about how Whoopi really wanted out of her contract and ABC wouldn't let her go. I'm starting to wonder if she has spent this season deliberately trying to torpedo the show in order to get out of her contract. Ordinarily I would never entertain that kind of silly conspiracy theory thinking and I don't want to believe that even she would be that unprofessional, but I'm starting to run out of viable reasons for her shockingly poor performance and obnoxious behavior this entire season. Even if meds are in part to blame for her most recent manic behavior, that doesn't explain away the past five months. Maybe she really is extremely threatened by RO's presence and has been overcompensating wildly. Whatever it is, she has become completely unwatchable for me on this show and she's dragging the rest of them down with her.

Why not have a snowy day show? Go out and talk to people in the street or Central Park. Have the hosts talk about their favorite snow day memories, their favorite snowy day foods or rituals. Regis and his co hosts did that kind of stuff, so do most of the morning news shows. They could even find a few hard core NYC celebs that they could just happen to run into on the street. Have a snowball fight, go sledding, snow shoe walks etc. A little snowy day bonding might go a long way?

Regis is on right now, hosting "The Late Late Show" from the "CBS This Morning" studio this week, so maybe he'll venture out in the elements.  He looks so happy (Sorry to go off topic).  He has never been one of my favorites, but you can tell that he respects the guests, as well as the viewers.  Whoopi could take a few lessons from him.

I didn't see the ep where she didn't know the letters/numbers re her vertabrae, but since she is dyslexic, I can accept that.  I cannot accept that she wears shoes that are 6 - 8 inches tall, and tells us those are comfortable.  This is a woman who cannot even wear a sports bra.  I wore shoes with 6 inch heels back in the day and guess what, I can't now.  I am very active, work out almost every day, and I would never wear the shoes that Whoopi promotes.  And I discourage young women from doing so.  Wish I had listened to those who gave me that advice.

I guess the only good thing is no young woman would follow Whoopi's lead.

I just cannot believe someone with serious back problems could wear those ridiculously high heels.

I noticed she hasn't worn anything but flats since she's been back.  And I don't believe she ever really walked around in those shoes she wore on the show, no matter what she said.  Hell, she could barely walk out onstage in them most of the time.  I never thought she looked like someone used to walking in heels.  I ruined my own feet wearing heels in my youth though - so I get your point banana

I'll never forget going to an Oprah taping years ago and she came out in slippers and someone brought out her Louboutins which she only put on after she was seated, lol.   No wonder the soles were always a perfect red!

I've missed the shows with Stacy London so I have to ask -- does she still have that one, single grey streak at the front of her hair?  Because that just drives me absolutely over-the-top nuts for some completely irrational reason.  I never watched her WNTW show or anything else that she may or may not have starred on, but whenever I have accidentally come across her over the years on some random show, that business with her hair just drives me crazy.  There.  I feel better getting that all out.

Funny, Cementhead.  I've watched all of the WNTW shows.  Her streak is natural she says.  She seems a little too animated on this show, although I think she is smart enough and with some toning down and maybe practice she could function well as a substitute co host.  Haven't watched her new show yet, but it is on the DVR.

"Natural?"  LOL!  Yeah, okay.  I guess if I dyed all but one single strand of my grey roots every month, I, too, would end up with one single "natural streak" like hers.  But why anyone would even want to go for that look is beyond me.

I wouldn't necessarily discount this.  It looks to be a pigment deficiency of her hair follicles.  I knew a girl in my school years who had a large one right in the middle of her forehead...it very much resembled a skunk.  She had tried dying it, but with the deficiency, the hair wouldn't take the dye.  She learned to embrace her "uniqueness".

Thank you for the education, Tunia.  I was unaware.  I will refrain from any further snark.  :)

Do we think the show will be live this morning?

I am hoping that Barb shows up and does her usual snow storm material with the audience like someone mentioned upthread.

The show is taped because of the snow storm..... it was nice to see a couple of segments with Rosie... she does a great 1 on 1 interview with a 94 year old woman from the audience.... it was well done. She also did a craft segment with Barbara.... I wonder how many they did together.

They were talking about naming the snow storms... and the guest joked that they could call it the Whoopi Snow.... Whoopi was completely against it... I wonder if it was because snow is white.... hmmmm

It was a pretty good show considering it was thrown together yesterday.

(I thought whoopi Is a proponent of taking care of her teeth now. She had fessed up a few seasons ago about having really bad dental hygiene habits in the past which resulted in her needing extensive dental work and kind of feared dentists. She encouraged viewers to take care of their teeth and not ignore visits to the dentist, etc. I recall this because my husband at that time was in the process of getting braces because of some dental issues!)

I missed the shows where Whoopi extolled the values of proper dental care.  Last time I heard her talking about her teeth, she was speaking of them in the same vein as her bad feet.

But between this & the Stacy London hair issue upthread, I shall shut my trap now for the rest of the day.

The mayor issued a driving ban so they could keep the streets plowed.  It amounts to a moving ticket violation and huge fine if caught.    Matt Lauer laid down in the middle of 5th avenue early this morning because there was not one car on the road.  I think I heard the Today staff say they stayed in a nearby hotel and walked to work.

I'm no expert in this, but isn't "snow" a nickname for cocaine?  Maybe she doesn't want the association with coke, since pot seems to be her drug of choice.

On the single strand of white issue:  When I was in high school, I was under a huge amount of pressure.  My body reacted by producing little ulcers on my scalp, which was just as pleasant as it sounds.  The first, and worst, always showed up on the back of my head, and from the time I was 15 on, that spot only produced white hair.  So I had a Morticia Addams streak of white in my dark brown hair from adolescence on.  I wish it had been in a cooler spot, like Stacey London's!  I'm sure it's still there, but now that the rest of my hair has followed its lead, it's not as discernible.

I hear NYC is up and running again, after having missed the worst of the predicted blizzard, so I bet we'll get a live show tomorrow.

My Great Aunt ( Aunti Miinne) had a natural streak as well.....and she wore nylons,  and a girdle. and a dress to the beach in Maui in the 60's. It happens to be true.

Actually, in the 60's it was not uncommon for teens to do that, but hers was natural. And I am in my later 60's. But the teens were a blond streak, hopefully...

Is it just me or did they totally miss the point & premise of the Go Daddy ad?  They were talking about breeders, blah, blah, blah.  My impression was that people didn't want to see a little puppy go through "hell" to get home & then get shipped off to it's new owner (by the breeder).  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I got the point of that GoDaddy ad, but I loved Rosie calling Nicole out for her reasons for hating the ad.  Face the facts Nicole, you hated the ad b/c it depicted a pure-bred breeder selling a dog, but like Rosie was saying and admitting...she has pure-bred dogs, as does Nicole and that was what made Nicole uneasy about the ad.

I'm tired of them picking on Rosie and her Frozen obsession and then Whoopi getting pissed about it, even though she is the one who brings it up.

I liked Michaela Watkins on the panel and she was great in the interview with Oscar Issac...take note Nicole, but I was a little mad they didn't discuss the Ghostbusters female-cast since most were SNL-cast members.

I say lose Whoopi and Rosie P, keep Nicole and Rosie O and bring in Michaela and Mario.

Wasn't it nice to have Whoopi not sneaking out during Rosie and Mario's segment to grab food like she is all stealthy.

Yeah, that was nasty, but funny. No one's gonna eat that batch Mario dribbled into.  I love that RO gives about as much of a shit about the baking as others do about her crafts.

I wanted to hear more about the female cast of the new Ghostbusters, too! I also like Michaela Watkins.

Maybe I'm just in a generous mood, but I thought Whoopi actually moderated well today.  She reminded me of Julie Chen, in that she introduced the topic then threw it to the others to comment.  I can't recall ever seeing her do that before, and I hope she keeps it up.

In fact, I enjoyed the whole show today.  And though the "master-baking" segment was double entendre heavy,  I'd rather that than the in-house commercials, even if Mario was plugging his banana bread.

I equally hate crafts and cooking segments. The master baking was mildly amusing the first time. By the 50th time, not so much. When I first saw the puppy ad, I thought it was sad because the puppy had been thru so much. Never equated it with puppy mills.

GoDaddy Super Bowl Ad Pulled After Animal Welfare Advocates Rally

The pro-puppy mill ad by GoDaddy scheduled to air during the Super Bowl was pulled after animal welfare advocates across the country rallied.

“Peddling puppies online is no laughing matter, as most of them come from abusive puppy mills where dogs languish in filthy, cramped cages,” said Wayne Pacelle, President and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States. “Adopting a homeless dog from an animal shelter or rescue group is the best play you can call.”

The problem with the contract the AI winner signed is that it (allegedly) violates the laws regarding the treatment of performers. Of course, the View ladies didn't bother finding out the nuances of the lawsuit so they couldn't ably discuss it.

Didn't catch the whole show this morning (that's what DVRs are for) but I wanted to comment on something I noticed. During the interview with Oscar Isaac, Nicole kept interrupting to say facts about him and his career. It was really weird, because it seemed like she was telling him things that he would have known (won an award for such-and-such, co-starred with so-and-so) but it didn't take the conversation in any direction. He just confirmed these things and then the conversation went on. It seemed really weird. She needs to take interview lessons from Rosie.

IMO, Phillip Phillips would not have much of a career without AI because his talent is very limited. How many ways can you sing the same song. He changes a few words and then butchers them in the same way as his previous song. Over and over. He ain't no Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood. He might be a Rubin S though.

Backtrack to Tuesday's show - I really, really enjoy Rosie and Barbara crafting segments - Barbara allows all the "pot shots" and Rosie is so in her element.  I feel it shows the warmth and respect that they have for each other.  The interview with the 94 yr old woman was enchanting, too.  Rosie seems to truly enjoy engaging people in her interviews.  Yes, I do love me some Rosie O, and enjoy seeing signs of the return of "the queen of nice," as she was known in TROS days.

I didn't get a picking on Rosie in a mean way, I thought it was good natured ribbing by both Whoopie and Mario. I loved when Whoopie said I can't believe I am going to say this and then started singing Let it go, let iiiiitttt gooooooo and Rosie looked like she kind of liked it.

I hated the Go Daddy ad. I don't know if it was said on this show or another show but where ever I heard it, Let Budweiser do the puppy ads, is right!  I agree with the guest host, it looked good on paper, didn't translate to the screen. It happens. I loved her acting out what she was saying also. I really liked her on the show today and it would be a good gig for her if she was interested. I actually kept thinking during the show: She should have a sitcom with her playing a talk show host.  I loved her.

Whoopie was fine today. She looked pretty good and didn't seem to be having anymore loopy effects from her medicine. I chalk last week up to coming back too soon.

Loved Mario's Master Baker schtick. Right up until the moment they brought out the shirtless guys. It's right on par with babes coming out in bikini's on my yuck scale.

Nicolle looked really weird during the hot topics segments but when they went to the interview segment, she looked ok. Maybe it was the lighting or camera angles.

Five hosts work on The Five, Red Eye, and some other shows but for some reason, four seems to be the magic number for The View.

eta Debating whether is should be any more or anymore. I hate grammar.

I went to school with a family of 4 kids who all had a "blaze" of white hair on the left side of their head above the eyebrow. The dad had it too, but not the mom. When they were all together it looked so cool.

Did Rosie know Nicole's reasons for hating the ad?  Do we?    Puppy mills didn't come to mind when I saw (and didn't appreciate) the ad--and it was difficult to tell if a puppy mill was being portrayed.  For me it was sad that the puppy jumped out (fell out?) of the truck and then worked so long and hard to get back "home" only to be told buh-bye.  It was a sad commercial rather than funny...to me.  Too bad for GoDaddy because I think they planned a big/long campaign on that puppy.  They even held a naming contest.  That's how he came to be named Buddy.
