For me, the problem is not the sex talk.  I'm sure a lot of us here love sex.  I for one watch porn on a very regular basis.  The problem I have is the messenger.  Kandi is wack as hell.  I would probably love a Bedroom Kandi party if KANDI wasnt hosting.  Nothing about her says sexy.  Not her clenched jaw way of  speaking, not her too tight round the way girl styling, nothing.  Even her scenes w Todd,  I know there's no way to tell but they just don't give me a "hot between the sheets" vibe.

For me, the conversation is boring and she is essentially say the same thing.  To spice up your sex life, you need clothing and props to help with that.  I got it.

 

It would be the same thing, IMO, if Kandi was a fitness enthusiast and she constantly talked about working out.  She would show us weights, elastic bands, rollers, fitness balls, kettle bells, shoes, clothes.  She would have fitness parties that demo the latest ab and leg exercises and have the ladies bond by partnering up to demo exercises when they really aren't interested.  I got it Kandi, we need to work our bodies in various ways to stay fit.

 

She definitely should be writing Joyce a check for keeping her relevant on this show.

 

Brooklynista, I cosign your comments.  Cynthia/Peter, Porsha/Kordell, Apollo/Phaedra, Nene/Greg and even Kenya/Brandon translate more sexual heat than Kandi/Todd.

Way way up thread there was a comment about the low rent pool/splash area.  The hotel was a boutique hotel, which is probably a very old building in the city proper.  No room for a pool.  I thought that bar/pool area was a charming as heck, reminded me of some gems in New Orleans.  Hidden courtyards with these teeny tiny pools - just big enough for a cool down.

Phaedra accused Kenya of acting like a whore with/to Apollo to get with him, I don't ever remember her saying that Kenya slept with anyone let alone a married man. It is possible that Apollo had someone send a text claiming to be Kenya. I am not sure that most people would think to look and see if the phone numbers match up with a number you have for them and many public people have several phones, so I do believe that Phaedra believed Apollo's story/lie was true. I think she found out earlier than what was saw this season that he lied but pride kept her playing the game.  IMO, Phaedra missed a big opportunity when Apollo admitted lying about Kenya, Phaedra should have apologized to Kenya for believing Apollo and hurting Kenya, smiled and walked away.

There is no creature on earth who has less class than Nene. I wonder how those "off the runway" clothes, size 15 ugly shoes and over priced cars are going to pay the bills once this show ends.

Where is the Countess when we need her?!  Even assuming that dress was “off the runway” (and God help me but I think Nene is right that you can have the same dress made in another size), it was UGLY!

While I'm on the Nene subject, why did she say she was still getting checks from New Normal? Do you still get paid after a show is cancelled or is she full of shit as usual?

I think actors do receive “residuals” when a show is in syndication, but that usually takes a certain number of episodes/seasons.  Glee might get there (and she would only get $$ for her shows), but not The New Normal.

 

But Nene lying about money is pretty standard, don’t forget the huge Trump checks that never were.

 

Speaking of money, is Porsha’s hair line really making tons of money?  Considering she seems to be dumber than a pile of rocks, that just seems odd.  Unless of course it’s like other Housewives lines and she’s just tacked her name onto someone else’s product, in which case I doubt she gets that much per $1 sold.

 

Others have said it better above, but I totally agree with the, hey, up to you if you want to get money from the boyfriend/married man/whatever, but be bright about it.  Some lousy purse that isn't worth $80k in real life isn't the thing to go for.  Jewelry (real jewelry, not fake stuff or diamond chips -- and yes I'm looking at every RHOC who crows about the "total carat weight" when there are hundreds of tiny stones) holds value, cash/stock holds value, buy a home that won't be foreclosed on.

What Nene did is just make a broad claim about Claudia being a whore-and gave a really inappropriate and false physical description of why.  Phaedra relied on Apollo's word but when he retracted it she did not apologize to Kenya.  Porsha has been flaunting her big presents for her secret man for the last year or so-if he is not married why the no reveal?  Porsha has also been calling Kenya an old slut and a whore for no reason other than she is malicious and ignorant woman. 

 

I didn't think Nene's apology went far enough and she sounded just like Apollo when she said she wouldn't identify the offensive comments specifically.  Never give Nene wiggle room.  She sure could pick up the "accolades" from her team on her particular insults and relive the glory.

 

These women have to stop calling each other whores-it is just wrong on so many levels.  Secondly, they need as a group to stop calling another "thirsty".  They are all on this show for exposure, camera time and opportunities.  I can't abide by the level of ignorance these women put out at times.

 

I always look forward to seeing Kordell and there should not be a problem with Kordell and Claudia being friendly.  They are both divorced and Porsha has not done anything to be kindly towards either Kordell or Claudia.  I doubt Porsha will be at the event and I believe it is Kordell's venue.  The only one who had an issue with Kordell was Kenya.

She's fully dressed in a party scene. I've worn less to the grocery store. I've also been in a few rap videos in the background so I must have been selling my body. It couldn't possibly be she knew the artist or had friends involved in the shoot, it has to be she is selling her body. Thank you for this info.  I was the one asking.  I will have to watch it again -- (No!  Do I have to?).  I'm getting older and am always frustrated by the rapid camera pans on any of these locations.  I am barely focused on the scene before we're off again!  I shouldn't have said low-rent when what I really meant was not up to the usual levels of ostentation that these shows prefer.  It actually looked like a fun place and, again, a place that I might be able to afford.  I would love to visit Puerto Rico, minus talk of whores, sex toys and shouting about who is a rich bitch. And I do love a Caribbean style cooling tank in a garden area -- with a bar attached, paradise.

 

The classiest and most modern woman we see on this show is the one we see the least of -- and that's Kenya's Aunt, who not only has a great contemporary sense of style but seems able to respect herself.  I always feel sad for these women when they start hurling insults at one another having to do with money, men, sex, and what ought to be the most private part of their private lives.  They ALL give the impression of having real self-esteem issues that make it impossible for them to behave graciously with each other.  I mean, I don't hate Phaedra or anything, but find it really strange that the daughter of a preacher would find it somehow the very worst thing in the world to call another woman a whore! It's odd.  Did you miss that portion of the big story to end all stories?  There are so many more interesting ways to diss and disrespect other folk if that's your mission.

What I don't like, primarily, about the Bedroom Kandi stuff is that the show is turning it into another 'dinner' situation.  What I mean is that they get the whole cast together and then ask questions intended to start a fight.  It contributing to my growing dislike of Kandi, in that she lets herself be used to set these scenarios up, through the questions she asks or partnering the people that hate each other most, and then she uses her talking head to pretend that she just wanted to have a fun time.  Its the same thing with her tendency to pretend she's neutral when really she is talking and laughing behind the other sides back about how funny the whole thing was.  That Demetria left and Nene told Phaedra she was throwing shade at Demetria and that group had a big ole laugh about it is why I don't like them. 

 

Claudia is a lot like Kenya, I think.  I always got the feeling that Kenya was stirring up shit for the sake of camera time and viewed this show with detachment that she didn't take the barbs against her all that seriously and that this freed her to be exceptionally vicious against those she would go after.  Claudia's smiles though the fight with Nene gave me the same feeling and she was looking to pick a fight on the bus.

 

Bad combination, when you also have two people, Nene and Phaedra, who are desperate to maintain a fictional reputation on the show.

Just to add to that, this was where they stayed. There is actually a really luxurious hotel, the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, right nearby but [1] it was closed for renovations at that time and [2] there is a dress code, which would eliminate some of the more outrageous outfits (PORSHA).

I miss Sheree.  And Dwight.  Who's gonna check me, Boo? feels like it was decades ago.  As well as her hilarious fashion talking heads, parties, and shows.  That's a gal who KNEW how to throw some serious funny shade.  

 

Claudia's trying too hard.  Nene's a pain in the neck.  Phaedra feels done.  Kandi has become really unlikable and gross.  Demetria seems to have zero sense of humor. (I don't think I can really take yet another launch of a HW's singing career ... ) Cynthia is lost. Portia is still good for a chuckle. Kenya is one-note.  

 

They could just be done with the whole thing, right?  The remaining old-timers look tired and bored and the new girls just aren't any fun.  Claudia got way over praised for her reading skill so I guess we're being asked to sign off on that.  Thought it was pretty lame.

This.  Odd, inarticulate, common and immature.   I'm age compatible with a handful of these women, call it a lack of imagination but I don't think referring to another chick as a whore would ever occur to me.  And I don't mean that in an oh I'm way too classy to go there way (shhh) lol.  I just mean who does that?   I think that's why these confrontational shows are so anthropologically fascinating for me.  It is flat out bizarre to see women not just fight but dammit, gutter snipe.  Dude, it's not even over anything good.  Unless we're talking about my husband, how am I to work up a bunch of steam about who you choose to sleep with?  We're in Puerto Rico, snacks, liquor and accommodations are paid for and the sun stays up.  We're on the bus talking about weave and vagina miles?  Really?

 

So speaking of Porsha and working up steam, I will be sooooo disappointed if she bothers to get her panties in a bunch over some Kordell and Claudia.  Considering the way she feels about Claudia and how Kordell treated her, she should be twirling a fabulous divot at the potential of these two.   This is where I can start to see the clapperboard in the scene though.  Kordell isn't cute and Claudia isn't slow so I'm already bored.

Yes, at a fertility clinic. It was one of those conversations in a group cocktail setting, asking this lady what she did for a living and that was it. Without missing a beat, or thinking too hard about it, I said "Come again?" and someone elbowed me and said "That's the general idea."

My take on this week’s episode:

 

Nene – She did make some very disparaging comments to Claudia but after Claudia pretty much insulted Nene’s accomplishments, history, family and appearance.  Nene has always been a reactive person and she reacted.  Both had to have googled the other as most of what they said could be found on any message board, blog, or gossip site.  I have to give it to Nene to attempt to shut it down by apologizing for her comments.  However Claudia, realizing she may not be able to retain a storyline went after who she felt was an easy target.  I noticed also, that Nene turns into “mother hen” when someone in her group is having major problems such as impending divorces.  Which is why she had now gravitated towards Phaedra and Porsha.  I feel she hasn’t warmed up much to Kandi because it really don’t take very long to know that Kandi rides the fence like a veteran cowboy.  She is someone I would not put my trust in as a friend and I believe that is why Nene doesn’t

 

Kandi – As I stated, rides the fence like it is a bucking bronco.  She is way too friendly and accommodating to both groups and doesn’t appear to have any real allegiance to any of them, Phaedra included.  I believe Phaedra and Kandi are close friends but there is a wall there. 

 

Porsha – must have decided not to engage in the drama, this season as she has distanced herself from the Drama Queens in the group.  However, that doesn’t mean she isn’t a target.  It looks like Claudia, especially, will try to push those buttons to get a desired reaction from Porsha, starting with accusing Porsha of sleeping around with married men for financial gain.  I am seeing where both Kenya and Claudia will go after Porsha because Nene basically have diffused any attempts to come after her.

 

Phaedra appears just out of it this season.  With the problems with Apollo, she appeared rather irritated this season.  Although even I feel she should have apologized to Demetria for her pointed inquiries but Demetria knew she stepped way over the line with the personal jab at Phaedra marital problems.  That was a low blow and they actually both understood that remark went too far. 

 

Kenya – I feel is the puppet master this season.  She is using/perpetuating the rift between Cynthia and Nene, schooling Claudia in how to insult and read Nene, and trying to turn Demetria against the “beast squad,” making parallels to her fued with Phaedra and Demetria’s feud with Phaedra.  Most of what Claudia was saying was almost a repetition of what Kenya said at the past two reunions.

Claudia- I actually liked her at first even though I felt she was trying way too hard to fit in with the others.  However, now that she couldn’t befriend the ones she was targeting, she now tries to fight them every chance she gets. 

 

It was just plain wrong that Claudia went after Porsha for basically no reason at all.  Everyone was laughing at that table, why single out only one person?  Her feeling was to go after the weakest, easiest target.  Kenya got a rise out of her at the reunion so there was a chance they could strike gold again.  It didn’t happen but it appears they will keep on trying.  After all, Apollo is going to jail so Phaedra won’t bite; Kandi got her drivers license riding the fence; Nene can get just as nasty as they if pushed, and Cynthia is already their puppet.  So their only hope for a drama filled season is to go after Porsha.

 

As for the sex party, just no.  Folks here are right; Kandi has absolutely no sensuality with her at all.  She could have been selling vacuum cleaners with more passion.

Cynthia looked like a deer caught in headlights this episode.  She didn’t really look like she was having any fun.  She just faded into the woodwork this episode.

 

I am hating all this pretty vs beasts crap just as much as I hated the talls vs smalls a couple of seasons ago.  So juvenile and stupid.  Most of these women are over 40 and should not act like they just graduated to high school

Why does everyone keep saying Demetria is trying to be a "pop" singer? Phaedra has said this a few times and Kandi has referenced it as well. It is clear to me her songs and voice are R&B. Pop to me is Katy Perry, Gaga, Britney type music. Rihanna is the only female black singer who I would consider a pop singer.

I think Phaedra just put this out there as a way to put Demetria down and dismiss her.

Lol.  I believe it was Demetria herself who mentioned pop, whoever referenced it after that was just reiterating what she'd said.  I think it may be kinda clear to everybody, except Demetria herself, that her voice is better suited to R&B.   Phaedra said gospel even, which I'd have to agree she's got the chops for.   The impression I got is she wants to be more mainstream famous than the genre she's suited for.  That performance in Puerto Rico was beneath her ability and it's a pity because the girl can blow.  Hell I dunno maybe she's just accustomed to underappreciation in general.

I don't remember Demetria saying pop, I remember her saying she didn't want to categorize herself. If she did say that, my point is moot then. :) I thought it was a label Phaedra put on her, so she could go in on her about being too old.

Her voice is actually really, really, really good. I am so surprised that I am shocked she is on this show and hasn't done much more than "House of Payne". Her vocal control is very impressive and the video posted earlier of her version of "I Will Always Love You" was beautiful.

I've got some of my spring cleaning off to an early start.  I think a show can jump the shark -- this is, what?, Season 7?  And then the show can start to go so low, get so repetitive and exploitive, that it feels like the sharks are jumping over us.  Which brings us to the equivalent of RHs Sharknado. 

 

When the debates start getting into some of the areas these ladies and gents have brought to us, it's time to stop sucking on that pipe for me. If they have so little going on, it's definitely pearls before swine to keep on writing about this stuff in the way the gang here does.  Not to sound like the natural obnoxious school marm I am, but the show as it stands doesn't deserve to kiss our little pinky toes. The quality of the comments is, like, quantum leaps over the quality of the program and has been for well over a year now. 

 

Thank you so much to the person upthread who posted the link to the boutique hotel so that I could see some actual photos of the place.  Much appreciated.  Best part of this sorry show. 

 

All that high and mighty talk aside, I can't stand either Demetria or Claudia at this point.  Blow, don't blow -- don't care. NO legitimate singer is ever going to use this platform as her big debut.  Just not going to happen unless your idea of fame is some petty cash via iTunes.  She's got NO sense of humor and the Roger Bobb thing she can lose me with.  Claudia has been totally overpraised for some pretty lame comments -- don't mess with a woman's hair choices, bitch, if you don't want to get called names.  And I don't even go for Nene's decisions there.  But ... really, shut up. I was so looking forward to the return of the A but it's been a huge letdown for me. I don't like Claudia or Demetria. Well, the only thing I know of Demetria is Rodger Bob so maybe that's not fair. If they're going to cast someone on the show then please show a well rounded portrayal. She has a good voice. The only person I can think of who had success in their 30s was Tamar. Maybe Demetria thought she could have the same success from a reality show.

 

I'm ready for this season to wrap up and look forward to a major casting change. If Bravo loves Kenya and Claudia so much, give them a Pretty Girls spinoff show or something. I'm tired of them on this show fake laughing and trying too hard. Attacking NeNe for her age, looks and lack of acting roles episode after episode does not an interesting Housewife make. The odd boutique hotel -- The camera moves around so quickly that it's hard to get a fix on anything but I couldn't make out what was going on with the weird, dark, covered patio off Demetria's room and all the wood everywhere.  It looked so heavy and dark, claustrophobic.  

 

The strange tank type tub thing that Cynthia (did like her bikini), Claudia, and Kenya were frolicking in -- It all looked pretty low-rent.  Like Roger Bobb or Bravo didn't want to shell out this time.  Hell, looked like the kind of joint I might be able to afford if I saved up.

It's a little nicer than can be seen on the show. It apparently won a New Boutique Hotel award in 2013. If you like rooms with glass wall bathrooms and no privacy in the name of "boutique" for an average of $189-$289 a night, it can be yours!  I can see from where the MGs were sitting on the beach, it's down the road from the place we always stay, it was in the background. I could tell from some other photos online that's where other talent stayed, like da Brat and her girlfriend. according to the timeline, they were there just a few weeks before me, the last weekend in August. I can't decide if I'm sorry or glad our paths didn't cross.

 

She probably jumped on Porsha for laughing and not Kandi because if your little group is calling me a ho, but I know that YOU are the one that's tricking, I'm coming for YOU.  Kandi isn't rumored to be sleeping with Africans for $80K handbags.  You'll note Porsha got real quiet after that little tidbit was revealed and wanted to go home after that, lol.

 

And that's another thing: if you're tricking, trick for something that matters.  Trick for a house in your name, not a $80K handbag. 

 

Or at least a working doorbell.

Kandi is absolutely painful to watch IMHO.  In college I worked in a warehouse the size of a football field stocking adult sex toys, x-rated DVDs and such, pushing a shopping cart around gathering items for distribution to pay my rent and even I gotta change the channel when Kandi goes in.  Since when did she become the self-appointed sexpert?  I mean, I've had sex too but that doesn't make me qualified and/or capable of giving sex advice on national TV or radio.  Nobody cares, Kandi.

There is just no reason to be doing anything except drinking well, eating good and finding yourself in and out of some body of water, fresh or salt. Period. Except maybe shopping. There's always room for the purse and jewelry outlets. I wish they had shown a lot more of them enjoying the scenery and going out and about, especially since it's winter all over here. I love to travel also and when I can't, I depend on these chicks to live through vicariously, dammit!

 

As I think about it now, we blame the women for the downfall of the show, and yet, I know there are lots of occasions where they're getting along and having a good time. The "Unseen Moments" prior to reunions always show stuff we wish they had shown. So maybe they need to edit in more of the fun and less of the bitchery, and it might go back to being the fun franchise we knew and loved...
