What's this I hear about Eve wanting to falsely accuse Jack of rape?!?!?!?!

I was trying to come up with an example of the last time a soap did that and all I could think of was AMC and Liza falsely accused Jesse of attempted rape and that, of course, took place ten zillion years ago.  Oh Ron.  We already know Eve's a villain, go ahead and skip this.

Chloe let people think Phillip raped her in the early 2000s I've hated her ever since.

Oh right, that Theresa/Xander thing, I forgot about that (the Chloe/Philip thing, I did not know, I wasn't watching back then).

Wait, back to AMC, didn't Kendall, SMG Edition accuse Dimitri of rape, or let Erica think he did or something?

Tony looks like a big raisin in that suit. (Yeah, I said it.)

I think I'm only watching about 10% of the show right now.

It's pretty rich for Xander to be calling anyone else names, considering he's essentially a knock-off Richard Gere-as-American Gigolo, and he doesn't qualify as a washed-up anything, since he's never, y'know, accomplished anything, except maybe set a record as the fall-guy for the highest number of cretinous schemes that have bitten him pretty much continuously in the ass.

Yes I think at one point they wanted Dmitri/Kendall to sleep together but Michael Nader nixed it because he found it creepy since SMG was underage at the time. So I heard. I'm glad he did.

Yes Theresa accused Xander of attempting to rape her it was treated as no big deal though since its Xander.

I liked Kate's shoes.

Ben/Ciara, not a really good idea to hide under the bed. Granted, I am not skinny enough or flat enough to fit under mine comfortably.

Tony's suit was.... interesting. Where do all these dead people now resurrected get the money to buy a wardrobe? And live lavishly?

Xander, oh, good, you are making a deal so no one throws you under the bus. Wonder what the deal is.

Chloe, put two and two together and figure out that John and Marlena are planning the identical party, cross-reference the guest lists and invite who is missing from each.

Anna, revenge-marrying Roman? Really?

Maybe you CAN take it with you? From the afterlife back into this one, I mean?

I wish soaps would dive more into logistics of coming back from the dead.  I assume Salem has a whole department.  "If you wish to have your grave removed because you are not dead, press 1!".

Oh my gosh, yes! Seriously, from getting the death certificate sorted out, to regaining an ID, checking account, etc. And then I want someone to visit their own grave and be all, "Sooooo, did you want me to pay you back for that, or..........?"

Ooh, or even better, have another back-from-the-dead person take the newly back-from-the-dead person around town to show them how to accomplish all that. "Oh yeah, they developed an app for that!"

I actually started fast forwarding those scenes after I heard her say Jack raped her because I didn't wanna deal with that shit but I started watching again when Adrianne showed up and I think they dropped that pretty quickly thankfully. But still, Ron, please stop using rape as a plot device at all at this point for fuck's sake.

I'm probably closer to 50% but still. Honestly though, ever since I decided I didn't need to watch the whole ep and let myself fast forward the bad shit I am so much happier lol. Watching in fast mode helps too.

Now I want someone to make a comedy about people coming back from the dead because this all sounds great.

If I remember correctly, I think it was more of an "assumption/misunderstanding" than an actual claim.

Chloe came face to face with a presumed dead Victor and ended up in a state of shock and confusion. When she was found people assumed she had been attacked and raped. It did go on longer than it should but I believe it got cleared up "somewhat" quickly.

I don't understand.  She knows that.  That's why she gave the guest lists to Brady to let him deal with it.

Fun seeing Gabi accidentally rip off the wig and mask, but this version of Kristen needs to chill! She's constantly locking up, shooting and threatening everybody in town. What's her end game? Convincing Brady to run off with her again?

I'm having a hard time seeing Tony when I watch TP's performance. They're just so many moments where he comes across as more sinister than he probably should. Maybe it's just his way of speaking. The clips I saw online of Tony from back in the day made him seem much more relaxed...and warm.

Why on Earth is Rafe pushing Gabi to admit she has feelings for Stefan? Any halfway sane brother would be encouraging his sister to stay the hell away from the guy at all costs. Is Rafe just that bored at work that he has to play matchmaker with his sis and the guy who tried to burn her face off with a hot poker after having her locked in jail?

The actress who plays Anna always take such long pauses and speaks so slowly that I feel like sometimes she's concerned the viewing audience doesn't speak English as a first language. I almost want to put her scenes on 1.25 speed so she sounds a little more normal.

She let Nancy think Phillip raped her they were getting hot and heavy in the barn. Craig went off on him(I don't blame him he's a good father/husband)

See? Craig is a great example of a good  father/husband but he wasn't above being manipulative when needed and still interesting. The show doesn't write those characters anymore.

Kate's hatred of Chloe is one of the few things about her I like.

Xander needs to get on a revamped Let's Make a Deal show. Trask is pretty tough as DA. She is not likely to fall for his charm.

Mr. Shin, thanks for standing up 'Nicole'.

Gabi, what are you wearing? Why are you going through police files? Your brother should be getting you to avoid Stefan, not pushing you to him.

I'd have gotten stuck sliding out from under the bed. Granted, my bed is probably lower to the ground and only a small person may fit under it. Ben and Ciara are lucky that they did not get caught. Stefan seemed so impressed with the Bobbsey Twins' detective work.

Anna, you are making Tony jealous all right. I would still take him down to the police station and get his fingerprints checked. He doesn't seem to be the charming dude he was all those years ago and maybe Andre in sheep's suits.

Hasn't been a catfight in a while. How nice for Gabi to pull off Nicole's face to expose who she really is.

Agree 100%. He sounds more like Andre than Tony. The only time TP exudes ANY warmth as Tony is when he's expressing his love for Anna.

BTW, do we know if TP needs the cane (in real life), or is this prop all part of Tony's recovery??

I really hope I'm doing this right. I'm a LONG-time lurker and first-time poster on this forum. I felt the need to chime in after binge-watching this past week's worth of episodes. This show has been transformed into an over-the-edge Kristen Dimera sideshow. While that may not have bothered me in the past (Eileen Davidson's portrayal of Kristen/Susan/etc. and the Secret Room storyline - plus Kate vs Sami - is what initially got me obsessed with DAYS to begin with), I just can't get fully onboard with the constantly overboard, over-the-top, over-the-hill sex-crazed maniac the writers have turned the character of Kristen into. No matter how many times they have Stacy Haiduk (or AZ too, this time around) loudly proclaiming "I'm Kristen Dimera!" with a perpetually unhinged Joker's grin on her face, I just can't bring myself to call her by that name. I hope I'm not in a minority here.

I mean, I'm no stranger to soaps (watch DAYS and GH, watched AMC, OLTL, Sunset Beach and plenty of prime time smut). Out-there plot devices such as masks (and surgically reconstructed body parts that change shape and size with every application of said mask) - especially not in Salem, of all places - don't bother me. It's more about the fact that they've turned the character of Kristen into a one-note caricature of crazy. And not like a fox... 🦊

I know, I know... Kristen's always been a few buckles short of a straitjacket. But I don't know that I can recall her ever being shown as just. plain. STUPID. as to be running around town or even lounging around her room at the Salem Inn with her Nicole mask off for just anybody to walk in on (or for her to open the door to, in Maggie's case). It's lazy writing at the very least.

[Side-note: Friday's episode was truly some epic buffoonery. Ciara and Ben, already having gotten into her room and under her bed, overhear her conversation with Kate, who also just waltzed on in, btw. Nicole/Kristen just walks out of her own room and leaves an already suspicious Kate to her own devices. Kate (live for her, btw) not only orders Ben and Ciara to leave, but then opens the door (of Kristen's room!!!) to Tony and hurriedly invites him in. Does he not have a key to the room he's living in with his "wife"? I'm amused and confused at the same time.]

Back to "Kristen". On a less amused and more confused note, what exactly IS her endgame this time around? A) Brady???!!! The simpleton who clearly wants nothing to do with her or she wouldn't have to pretend to be someone else entirely (his [other] recently deceased EX, no less) in order to get his interest? Yet another example of the show relying on rape as a plot device, btw... Or B) the sudden sense of entitlement she feels toward Dimera Enterprises? Entitled to, even though she's Stefano's ADOPTED daughter and has barely spared much more than a passing glance at since as far back as I can even remember when? I don't know which is worse as far as motives go.

I think I gotta pick Option A because first of all, does she really expect Brady to just accept the fact that she's been literally masquerading as Nicole for months? Driving wedges between brothers (again... yawn) so she can land him between the sheets. Second of all, hello?? Rape. Not that it would be her first time at that particular rodeo. But honestly, I get nothing from the actress in terms of why she's so head over heels for Brady other than what's below the belt.  It's like she's desperate for sex. And that just cheapens the character so much more for me. She's been reduced to not much more than a rabid nymphomaniac, practically foaming at the mouth for a less-than-smart slab of beef who'd probably STILL be smart enough to kick her out of bed if he knew who/what he was really sleeping with. I don't blame the actress (although she bears more of a resemblance to Laura Horton than Kristen Dimera), but she's certainly doing the character no more favors than the writers are.

OTOH I will admit that I haven't minded AZ's scenes as Kristen-as-Nicole, but that's probably more because I miss the bitchy, cutthroat Nicole Walker... who she was before she got watered down and declawed once she and Eric got back together. I've especially enjoyed her scenes with Gabi and Kate. That, however, could be more attributed to the chemistry Lauren Koslow (and AZ and Camilla Banus, to a lesser extent) has with everything she comes into contact with. Let's just say that I came to DAYS in the mid-nineties because of Eileen's Kristen... I've stuck around for this long because of LK and Kate. The woman is drop-dead beautiful and I'm convinced she looks younger now than she did back when she was being blackmailed by Sami with her hooker past. I ADORE Kate - unequivocally and unapologetically - and she never fails to entertain me. Whether she's being the overbearing Mama Bear, intruding in the lives (and especially love-lives) of her children... the shrewd and savvy shark who'll do whatever it takes to get what she wants in the boardroom and in the bedroom... and especially in the few and far between moments the writers actually let her show some vulnerability. LK's Kate will forever be my #1 woman and I hope she DOES end up taking over that CEO spot that somehow Mr. Shin can just offer to whoever at whim. Wow, I digressed...

Anyway, just wanted to throw in my proverbial two cents (or more). On other fronts...

- I love and have pretty much always loved Gabi at her best and at her worst (which, to me, are pretty much the same thing). I don't know how I feel about her feelings for Stefan. He deserves all the payback she initially intended on giving him (and then some) for the way he treated her back when Abigail was running around with a poor man's version of both her name and her hair.

- I much preferred Tyler Christopher's Stefan to Brandon Barash's.

- Couldn't care less about Rafe, Hope, Jennifer, Jack, Eve, Adrienne, Tripp, Haley, JJ, Ben, Ciara, etc...

- I already miss Claire and I might not have had to FF through 95% of Wednesday's episode had she not exited the canvas.

- Wish Xander would stick around longer this time (the less clothing, the better). But if he does, don't waste him on a simpering, wishy-washy princess like Sarah. I cannot STAND her. May she and Eric live miserably ever after. I wouldn't miss either holier-than-thou half of that equation if I never saw them again.

I'm just gonna leave things there and hope that I posted this in the right place. Please please please correct me if I'm wrong...

"A few buckles short of a straitjacket" HAhaha, you win the interwebbynet for best comment of the day!

And I agree about Lauren Koslow in every way.  She can do more with one curl of her lip than most of the cast can do with a soliloquy.

- Eric sleeping with Sarah the NIGHT she left Rex?  TACKY.  And Sarah honey?  You will never replace Nicole in his heart.  This can only end in tears for you.

- Stabi is my guilty pleasure.  I find myself oddly sympathetic towards Stefan and would like Gabi to admit Stefan is more than a good role in the hay.  Note: I was so very pissed at Gabi over the insane Abby plot that I'm shocked how much I'm Team Stabi.  Go figure.

- I'm also Team Xander these days.  There is seriously something wrong with me.  I like he and Maggie's friendship.  I hope he throws Kristen under the bus.

- Go Kate!  I like smart Kate!

- Kristen needs to get put in the lockup.  No escape for this Phoenix.  Let's see her in orange!

I'm generally finding the show entertaining these days, despite the outlandish plot devices.

I dislike Ciara and Ben so much that a scene like that makes me happy, as in, it gives me more reasons to dislike them.

No matter how many times they have Stacy Haiduk (or AZ too, this time around) loudly proclaiming "I'm Kristen Dimera!" with a perpetually unhinged Joker's grin on her face, I just can't bring myself to call her by that name. I hope I'm not in a minority here.

What a fabulous, funny, and smart post!  Please post more.

"A few buckles short of a straitjacket" HAhaha, you win the interwebbynet for best comment of the day!

And I agree about Lauren Koslow in every way.  She can do more with one curl of her lip than most of the cast can do with a soliloquy.

@Powerispower508, please keep on posting!

Thank you for the warm welcome. From you and anyone else who liked my post. So glad to find someone else who agrees with me about the (what I feel is sometimes underrated and underused) acting prowess of LK.

Honey, if you knew how far back my lurking days go, you would die and come back from the grave as much as Kristen and Stefano combined. Lol.

Not at all alone. I've long thought the character currently being played by Stacy Haiduk (and AZ, I guess) was rendered downright stupid. Even the last couple of times where Eileen Davidson showed up to claim her paycheque, the character has been a braying buffoon, in my opinion, full of grinding self-pity and an endless, unappeasable (and inexplicable) horniness for Brady. BRADY.

And this is another example why SORAS makes me crazy. Kristen used to date/was set to marry Brady's FATHER, when Brady was still a small boy. Yet now she is obsessed with Brady. It makes my skin crawl.

Even though I shouldn't have liked Bristen with ED in the role I strangely did probably because EM wasn't on Days during the Kristen/John/Marlena saga and it actually provided real drama. Especially with Jarlena looking on horrified at them being together and its probably the only time in recent years where it seemed he was in Jarlena's orbit on a consistent basis otherwise he hangs out with Victor/Maggie. That being said they shouldn't be a long term option and ran their course ages ago. For long term options it should either be Theresa or Chloe for him.

This is the type of story I wanted for JJ if they ever went full blown couple for JJ/Eve with Jack/Jennifer looking on horrified.  Them getting together after joining forces to take Ben down would've made good soapy drama instead we got the immigration storyline, Haley, and Jack's amnesia which was all bad...

Couldn't agree more. I feel like the last time I could really look at the "character currently being played by Stacy Haiduk" as even remotely similar to the one I knew and loved was during Eileen's first return in 2011 (?) when she initially hooked up with Brady. She was still Kristen to me and, in a way, even slyer with the way she slid right back into Salem and made Marlena look like the crazy one. It was all running so smoothly until they had to go and give her inexplicable "feelings" for Brady.

Don't get me wrong. At the beginning of Bristen, I was into it. It got under John and Marlena's skin just as intended and it was a bonus just how fully she'd managed to turn Brady and his equally dimwitted father against one another. I just can't remember where during the course of their "relationship", enough became enough and she went entirely off the deep end - drugging Eric, having sex with him dressed as somebody else, getting it on tape. Kristen makes her first appearance at the Rape Rodeo.

I wouldn't be surprised if Eileen saw the trajectory of her character at that point and said "peace out" (even though, from what I remember, she had already decided not to renew her contract before that played out). And she did get her well-deserved Emmy, at least.

But coming back and having Theresa's fetus stolen from her womb and implanted into her own, which I'm not even sure is physically possible, was quite a leap as far as her obsession over Brady was concerned. I mean, sure... Vivian stole Kate's eggs and gave birth to Phillip. But Vivian Alamain is... well, Vivian Alamain. 😂 😂 😂 And Grand Theft Fetus is what Vivian did multiplied by 1000 plus (what I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume are) like, at least 6 different physical impossibilities. Way way way too much by that point.

Why did you lurk so long? We are a friendly bunch, I think

🙂

I think I lurked so long because I watch a lot of shows and have a lot of opinions (sometimes unpopular), I just felt overwhelmed posting about every one of them. I figure I'm gonna start slowly and stick to one show, then maybe add another and so on... Had nothing to do with feeling unwelcome. If anything, I feel like this is the forum I should be posting on because ya'll are honest and hold no unpopular opinions back. 😁

Absolutely right. We're pretty good here at agreeing to disagree and having fun with the whole conversation. Sometimes I feel like this is the only place where I know I'm not crazy for watching the show and feeling like it's a mess. When I hear that certain characters or storylines or couples are "very popular" with the fans and it makes my head spin, I know I can usually come on here and find at least one other person who sees things as I do, which is a comfort!

Case in point, all this talk of Kristen. I definitely enjoyed everything from 2012 to 2013 (pre-Eric rape) because they really allowed ED to peel back the layers of who this character was in the aftermath of all the things she'd done in the 90s. She obviously still had resentment towards Marlena and John and was willing to manipulate Brady for a few cheap thrills, but then they also gave her scenes like the ones at the Horton Cabin and in the renovated Secret Room, where Kristen became very vulnerable and admitted to missing the woman she used to be and the hopes she used to have for a happy life. A woman who, once freely offered love and security, admits even she can't believe how far off the deep end she went in the past. That's who the character really is to me. A woman who became desperate and made wrong decisions and would probably give anything to reset and start over, but can't and knows at the end of the day that she's surrounded by hypocrites....so why not use deception and manipulation to mess with them?

That said, once you start having her waving around guns and raping people and gritting her teeth that she's "a DiMera!!1!" and "a Phoenix!1!" and her father's daughter and blah blah blah you completely lose her humanity.

I honestly don't know how they're going to keep Stacy around for the rest of the year. This storyline has really burned out Kristen's appeal.

Edit:

I don't know how the writers felt Gabi would have so much to say to Kristen today. Hasn't Gabi been pretty idolated from Nicole this whole time, save for the fight over the CEO job? How did Gabi know about the lucha mask? Or that Nicole was throwing herself at Brady? The pieces, including those Gabi had no knowledge of, came together way too completely. Lazy writing.

Girl, if you unmask a DiMera...you run! I like sassy Gabi...but come on. Also - isn't her precious little girl still in the DiMansion? Shouldn't protecting her from Kristen be her first thought instead of mouthing off?

I could not possibly love this post any more. Firstly, I definitely hear you on the parts about how other places seem to just tow the line and love certain characters and couples that personally make me sick to my stomach. I know that people are entitled to their opinions, but some of the things I read or hear just baffle me beyond belief. This forum seems to have the most level-headed, rational posters and points of view and when friendly debates arise, they manage to stay just that - friendly. For example, I feel like I'd get stoned or burned at the stake for not agreeing just how AMAAAZZZINGGGG ♥️♥️❤️❤️❤️ Ben and Ciara are as a couple. Maybe if Ciara had kept any of the edge (might not be the right word choice, but I think you know what I mean) she had before they foolishly SORASed her into this perfect little flower, I could get onboard with it. But instead, I think both characters are being done a huge disservice, both have been watered down and it frankly sickens me enough that I mostly end up reaching right for the fast forward button on my remote. Same thing with Chad and Abigail. I liked the first Chad, the second (and current?) one has just never done it for me. Abigail? Nope. Never. 🤮 John and Marlena, too, while I'm at it. (Sorry, I tend to drift into tangents. But long story medium, the maturity and realism of this forum is what drew me to it.)

ANNNYWAY... back to the Kristen stuff. I love that someone else remembers the layers they gave Eileen to play upon her first return. If I recall correctly, did or didn't her first stint in the nineties end with Kristen being switched out by Susan (with the help of Edmund) and sold into some sort of human slavery situation with a sultan? (Typing that sentence kinda reminds me why I love soaps so much lol). Or am I as nutty as our most recent version? And did they ever explain just how she got out of that situation alive? I thought it was going to actually be addressed during one Bristen scene where they'd either just finished having sex or were about to and she had a semi-breakdown about the things she went through, but never got specific and Brady just held her or the writers just got lazy... or something.

It aggravates me to no end that Marlena drones on and on (and has from the start) about how EEEEVILLLL Kristen is. From the minute Kristen got pregnant in the nineties and didn't give John Marlena's sappy profession of love, Marlena was ALL OVER her. And John just let her be. Kristen was instantly vilified and went from a loving, sweet and I believe church-going woman (with friends!!) to a pariah. Backed into a corner and forced to do unspeakable things all in attempt after attempt to hold onto the life she'd been TRYING to build with John that Marlena was so hell-bent on ripping apart. If anything, I've always seen Marlena as a self-righteous, sanctimonious bully who's behavior only served as the most negative type of reinforcement to the plots and schemes Kristen was pulling. Nobody saw Kristen as the increasingly mentally unstable person she was becoming. As a therapist, one would think Marlena might have attempted to help instead of hurt her. But I guess her undying and perfect love for John and (okay, justified) hatred of all things Stefano made her professional perspective become obliterated by her personal bias. Kristen had the deck stacked against her from the minute she lost her baby and was she ever truly allowed to grieve that loss? It's sad to see what she devolved into back then, though back then it was also entertaining as hell (for me, at least). Especially when adding Vivian and Ivan into the mix. 😂

But there is a definite line that the show crossed and I don't think there's ever any coming back. Kristen should have just stayed dead and/or gone for good. I made my peace with that about the 17th time "Kristen" held Marlena at gunpoint. The writing has officially destroyed what used to be a layered, complex character. I just pray it never happens to my Kate (although at times, that hasn't been for lack of trying). 🙄🙄🙄

OK - so DiMeara STILL has the world's worst security force.  Both Kristen and Stefan can just walk in any time they want.  And WHY does every character insist on talking or (better yet) leaning over the unconscious person rather than calling 911 FIRST?  Normal people know minutes matter.

Eric is beyond pathetic.  He SAYS he doesn't want Nicole but also doesn't want Brady to have her.  How can anyone say he is a good character when he is clearly using Sara as a place holder?  Granted she did the same thing with Rex so maybe they deserve each other?

Brady just couldn't wait to rush over and let Eric know he's boinking "Nicole".

Wasn't Xander involved in the diamonds in the elephant thing when he first came on the show?

They don't need a password to get into Xander's bank account? The Hardy Boys were lucky there.

The guy who came back from the dead is surprised that somebody else may have come back from the dead?

Sarah reaming Brady was everything.

Mister Shin don't take crap from Victor.

I have zero issue with Brady rubbing it in to Eric. The same Eric that went for his other brother's wife (so, yeah, Sarah holds half the blame here!). Brady is a dumbass douche much of the time, but he has his moments. With Maggie, for one.

I can't think of anything positive about this version of Eric.

Out of obligation. He loved her, but she was pregnant at the time and the real Roman returned. There wasn’t a “choice” to be made. Her certainly never “chose” Isabella over Marlena, and more than Marlena “chose” Roman over John. It was just what they considered the “right” thing to do given the circumstances handed them. And both John and Marlena have said that they didn’t do things right back then. John could have certainly called Isabella the love of his life, but never did. Even when he was with her.

Agree to disagree. He certainly didn't HAVE to marry Isabella. It wasn't the 1950s anymore. And Isabella did leave once Marlena returned, granted before "Real" Roman's return. But RoJohn didn't run to Marlena free and clear, either. He was torn over both.

So, as I said, agree to disagree.

I did like Gabi's pulling off Kristen's mask and wig and then effortlessly figuring out her psycho plan.  And I was also loving Gabi's easily defending herself but then she turned her back on a person who wants to kill her--DAMN!!  And now at least Stefan knows that Kristen's alive--the more people who find out the better.

And I rather enjoyed Will and Sonny investigating together, especially Will's giving tips on lock picking--too funny.

Dimera security seriously sucks!   Ben, you should be fired!!

Boo hiss on both Gabi and Stefan turning their backs on Kristin cray cray.  And WHY did she let them live?   What is her long term plan?   Makes no sense.

Eric, Eric, Eric.  In all fairness, the love of his life is acting super strange. Going after Dimera business and marrying Tony?   But he was so petty with Brady.   Good on Sarah for saying Eric needs to have a good think.  Extra bonus points for her telling off Brady for treating women like property.  On the other hand, telling Eric she gave up her marriage for him?  That’s your choice sweet cheeks.  You didn’t consult with Eric, you just did it   He’s not responsible for that choice.   He’s an asshole for sleeping with you on the same night but you (Sarah) ruined your own marriage.
