She's mentioned a couple of times on the show she has nodes in her vocal cords. She wants to restart her singing career so I have that to dread. That's how she met Dr. Dan during a consultation because I watch the show.  I googled her back when she started on Days and found out she was a singer in Kentucky.  I hope she never gets the surgery because if her own moaning music is any indication, I don't want to hear more.

Why the fuck is Dan leaning all on Kristen? For someone you're holding hostage, that's kind of creepy. WTF is up with this hostage story, I'm not understanding it.

Can anyone who actually pays attention to the Dan/Kristen scenes explain what's going on here?

I second that. Why is he not, y'know, escaping?

Maybe everyone is FFing the scenes? If so, I propose that we hold a (virtual) round of choosing straws, and one "lucky" person will have to watch the scenes so that s/he can explain them to the rest of us.

LOL, I haven't ff'd, but I'm still not sure what's going with Dan and Kristen. Although clearly (IMO) Kristen has sexual chemistry with nearly everyone. I can't help but love her. I think ED does crazy with a side of sexy perfectly. They're on the road now, presumably back to Salem, but I've got nothing on why that's happening. Not sure how wise it is bringing her back to that hotbed of angst that is Salem these days, Daniel.

OK, here's what I think is happening with Dan and Kristen:  she is hiding in his hotel room with henchmen and she kidnaps him.  He turns the tables and kidnaps her, but instead of calling the police he keeps her in the hotel for days, having a sleep over, braiding each other's hair, etc.  Supposedly they are hiding in the storage room because the henchmen will find them if they go out in the hall, which didn't happen when they went from the room to storage.  The henchmen keep coming up to the door and wondering if Dan and Kristen are in the storage room and deciding, nah, why bother to look.  This is supposed to have us on the edge of our seats, Every. Single. Time.   The hotel uses Marcel toilet paper - lots of it.  Suddenly, Dan takes Kristen and gets into a random truck that is pulled up to the hotel loading dock.  Which again refutes his fear of hallways.  He says it's a laundry truck, but there are only very big cardboard boxes in it, which confirms my belief that Dan does not wash his clothes.  He must just UPS them somewhere in a big box and not question when they come back still dirty.

The whole crux the issue seems to be that Daniel thinks that he has to bring Kristen to the Salem police, and that the St. Louis police would be no help in that.

I think Rafe might help Daniel if he called him, but no one really seems to trust Rafe to help them out.

I thought Gabi, Sami, and Kate were dumb not to call Rafe during the Nick incident, but now I'm reassessing my position as this clearly seems to be a pattern among Salem residents if I am to take Daniel's way of handling Kristen into consideration.

Thanks, oceanblue, for helping us out! I'm still so confused, but that's not your fault - it's clearly a nonsensical plot written by crack monkeys.

No one *ever* does the reasonable thing. I just assume that Salem exists in an alternate reality where the smartest, most obvious choice simply isn't an option.

Except when Sami destroyed incriminating evidence as soon as she found it. No inexplicably holding onto it, stashing it away in a "safe" place, for her.

Other than that? I got nothing. I guess it's the exception that proves the rule.

I'm lost with the Daniel and Kristen plotline.  It's just illogical and boring.

That whole storage room scenario looked like it was heading into some S&M theme.  Dr. Dan and Kristen seemed really hot for eachother. The writers could've had a lot of fun with that storyline.  But nope.

Now they are on a truck somewhere?

The Dan/Kristen SL makes no sense to me, but that's not surprising.  I did like Daniel telling Kristen that she and EJ talk big, but when things get tough they start crying for Daddy Stefano to fix things.

Daniel left his cell phone in the hotel room and the thugs have it now, so he couldn't call Rafe if he wanted to.  Though one wonders why Kristen doesn't have a cell phone on her.

But one wonders why Daniel doesn't just contact somebody at the hotel.  Surely there are other people in that hall besides Kristen's thugs.

Possibly literally gagworthy.  They make have to start gagging each other with Marcel toilet paper to show the audience how strong it is.  I'll bet that's what's in the boxes.

I thought Dan was bringing Kristen to Salem to clear Eric's name by forcing her to confess to his priest boss?

Of course they have sexual tension this is Daniel guys! Like duh! By the end of the month shell be in love with him.

Why did Jennifer call JJ "a creep"? I know it was a joke, but still....she kind of sounded like she meant it.

I know parents will sometimes joke around with their kids by calling them weird nick-names like "monkey", but I can't recall a parent ever lovingly calling their kid a "creep".

Jennifer was faking out her baby boy.  First she tells him that she's glad Paige is going away so that he can date other girls.  Then when he calls her on she says "JUST KIDDING! HAHA!  I LOVE Paige."  I wish JJ had asked her why she did a complete reversal in less than a minute.  Polly Pureheart is one sick cookie.  Playing mind games with JJ is NOT cool.  But I don't think she actually LIKES her son very much.  Oh, she loves hearing him tell her how great she is, but that's sort of expected behavior by her for everyone.

Abigail, yeah, her she loves because she's following in her footsteps.  But JJ?  I don't think Jenn actually LIKES men in general much at all.

Between her and Eve, JJ and Paige should be ready for a trip to Happy Acres by the end of the summer.

To be fair, I think anyone who has lived in Salem and had to deal with the Salem PD just ends up believing all police are incompetent in general.

And by all means, please judge Paige for her family. Good thing nobody did that to you. BTW, your good friend Shane says hi.

If Kristen says "What about Jennifer?" one more time, I'll support Daniel slapping the crap out of her. TomSell sure have an obsession with the twit.

So Aidan is reluctant to get involved with Hope because of his dead wife but has no problems asking Jen out on a date? What about his dead wife?

The next time Adrienne tries to judge someone because of their parents she needs to be reminded that she killed her father after he raped her. Her brother was also a rapist, his father was a serial killer, and she married into a mob family. She comes from a poor background and her family is filled with criminals so she has absolutely no business judging anyone because of what family they were born into.

Isn't it a little soon to be moving on with another man, Jen? Oh, I forgot, this is the woman who moved on with the unwashed hippie before Jack's body was even cold.

Typical Salem logic.  You would think he would be reluctant to get involved with Hope because she's still married.  But then again, when has that ever stopped anyone in Salem before?

I feel sorry for the actor that plays Aidan.  MR/Jennifer is a chemistry black hole - she will suck the life out of any potential pairing.

I don't understand why Daniel is overestimating his ability to take on Kristen.

Anyone who gets involved with her, either directly or indirectly, usually finds their life in tatters.

One can only hope. Am I the only one who hates Eric and thinks he's the worst fucking priest in existence? Dude holds grudges like Blair Waldorf then blathers on about his calling. If what Kristen did to him was God's test then I'm pretty fucking sure that he failed it.

Also Nicole, yeah you wronged him after he wronged you but then you made it right. You're even. Go get on with your life and tell this waste of space loser to get to stepping. If he wants to blame someone then point him to an altar or the next full-length mirror.

Nope, I hate Eric too.  He really is a terrible priest.  I would love for him to join the monastery and leave the show.  When Eric is onscreen, the show just grinds to a halt. I like Greg Vaughn, but this role is the worst.  Dude needs to ask for his character to have a brain transplant so he can be someone new.

No offense, but I don't get how being a good priest translates into "Immediately forgive the woman who shredded evidence of your rape and lied to you."

Yeah he fucked up by accusing her of rape, but he was fucked in the head(Thanks to Kristen) and didn't bring her up on charges. Plus if a man shredded rape evidence, I don't think we'd be having this discussion.

But Nicole's not done anything worse than any other character on the show. The problem with her is that she's 1)stuck in this boring story and 2)she's an island, with no familial ties to anyone else on the show. People who don't currently like her probably never will, and those of us that do generally aren't asking for much, just that the show pick a direction for Nicole and stick with it (and stop torturing her with unsuccessful pregnancies). It shouldn't be that hard, even for this team of hacks.

I don't think she has to go back to scheming and baby napping to be interesting. I see her as a female Jack: a mostly reformed character played by a talented actor, capable of being edgy but not all out evil.

Yeeees!! Dead baby number 2 sent me on a year long hiatus. Damn these fucking writer, MarDar totally were going to let her keep it. I'm so pissed at the misogynistic implications. Sami can have four kids but the character widely regarded as a slut because she was sexually abused as a child (much like Melanie and Billie) is not permitted to have a child or be a mother to even one fucking baby because apparently it's her vocation to "sexually frustrate men" and be their glorified sextoy only to be thrown aside when a "Virginal" Jennifer or Taylor come along. The Virgin/Whore sluthshaming complex on this show burns me. It only makes matters worse that Nicole was a victim of sexual abuse and people like Sami (a rapist herself) hurl the word porn star at her like it's some kind of joke. It's why I loathe that misogynist cretin Victor and why I wish they'd just give Nic her damn baby. Retcon Sidney as hers and be done with it. I'd watch a full hour of AZ interacting with child actors and I don't even like kids.

Just get her away from the emotionally retarded pariah that is Eric Brady. That dude is a straight up asshole if ever there was one. A wolf in sheep's clothing, the worst of them all IMO.

I've had this secret wish that they'd get Jensen Ackles to do a brief cameo for AS's departure, revealing that priest Eric is not Eric and then reveal Wayne Northrop and that Roman is not Roman.  Sami gets to go offscreen to live in hiding with her real family.  GV's Eric is left to realize he's not Eric, but a completely different character.

And then I changed my mind because that is a recipe for John Black part two.  Then I changed my mind again, because I'm out when Sami is gone so what do I care.

I'm fine with Eric hating Nicole forever but since neither of them have any other love interests (besides the awful Dan and the even worse Jen) they're going to get back together eventually so they might as well get on with it. This is why having Nicole destroy the evidence was a bad idea. Neither one of them have anywhere else to go so until they get back together we have to deal with this repetitive crap. Making Eric a priest was an even bigger mistake. Now he's boring because he can't do any of the immoral things everyone else does and some people think he's a hypocrite because he hasn't forgiven Nicole quick enough. This story has hurt both characters tremendously.

Dan the 2nd Coming flailing his arms around in front of Kristen like some valley school girl. What a loser. He acts like he can pick the topic of conversation while everything about him and his precious Jenn is just off limits. Ugh. Those Dan & Kristen scenes were just stupid and ridiculous, bonding with the hostage, never seen anything so ridiculous in my life.

JJ isn't it great when a girl drops her education for dumbass reasons. Paige is an idiot.

Adrienne STFU, acting like Sami, Eve, & the lawsuit is just crippling the family and then butts her nose in JJ's relationship. What is wrong with this bitch? She's just prancing all over town getting on her high horse and being all mopey. She needs to get a life.

STFU Jenn, humor is lost on you, that fake ass laughing and why does this bitch always think that they're ulterior motives when someone asks her shit. Get over yourself. When she said she knows what Dan is up to, he gave her a WTF look. Aiden and Hope just lack any chemistry because it's all too forced. Aiden is gonna regret going out with Jenn.

OMG don't ever show those RoboMar & Yawn flashbacks again. Is that perfume she put in her purse one of her experiments she concocted in her lab? RoboMar he can't squeeze your hand because your experiment perfume just made his condition worse, and ramming your wrists all over his body isn't gonna help either.

ICAM this storyline is a disaster. Making Nicole destroy the evidence she worked so hard to find made zero sense and continuity-wise was a total WTF given the growth of her character at the convent. It also made the dead baby story null and void since it seemed the point of that was to rehabilitate and redeem her character then they just trashed it anyways. They could have skipped it and let her deliver the baby and kept her out of Eric's orbit and in EJ's and Rafe's. They would never have needed this Jordan idiot (sorry Justin) and could have moved forward with an EJ/Nic/Race triangle slowly phasing EJ out to place him back with Sami whilst Nic had her baby with Race.

They could have easily kept Eric at the convent, in and out of troubling lives like Brady and Theresa and maybe made him fall for Jen (someone as boring as him) They could have put Dr.Tan with Hope so I could FF them both and we never would have needed Aiden to join the show.

Furthermore making Eric a rape victim only opened up various storylines detailing what an asshole he is. They could have kept him a noble priest by making bad things happen to those around him via Kristen, Sami, Abby etc and shown his compassion for them.

This storyline makes everyone come out looking like disjointed, pathetic, judgemental assholes, and where there's no asshole there's a hypocrite. Yuck.

Well, they didn't exactly "rush" over...it was more a leisurely stroll, after they finished their meal and whatnot. But more importantly, when they did arrive, Roman said nothing at all while Marlena just asked to see the grandkids, so that she could spend time with them. They did not actually offer Sami any support or comfort, not even a hug. It was more like they came because they didn't have anything better to do just then. (And Hope rather hilariously burned them when she arrived at the house herself and commented that she was surprised to see them there.) Now John's in his coma, so of course Marlena can't think about Sami. But at least I know where she is - Roman, I don't even know where the hell Roman is.

I think where the writers are going (if they actually have a plan) with no Roman or Marlena checking on Sami, and everyone else in Salem showing up to bitch at Sami for daring to be angry and hurt, is “See what a horrible person Sami is, even her parents don’t support her because she is a terrible person” however, it is having the opposite effect.  The more people bitch at Sami, the more I want Sami to destroy the entire town of Salem.

Eric is actually like the male Jen to me: joyless, miserable, deadly dull, petulant, self-righteous, hypocritical, forever nursing multiple grudges and yet mysteriously praised as 'very good people.'

And, ugh, Adrienne is the WORST.  She is absolutely everything I could ever hate about a soap character and totally devoid of any positive, remotely entertaining qualities.  Are we supposed to like and root for her? ITA.  And it's one of my biggest issues with the writers of this show. Any character growth these characters do experience is immediately washed away when they decide they need to create drama.  There was enough drama between Eric and Nicole at that time without having her decide to do something as stupid as destroying what she tried so hard to find.  Why couldn't the drama between Eric and Nicole been him grappling with whether or not to go back to the priesthood knowing he was in love with Nicole and had admitted it to her?  He could've made the choice to go back, thus creating more sexual tension between the two of them and then he either decided to keep up with the church or go live life with Nicole.  Thus keeping both characters in likable territory for the audience because their choices were more in line with who they were at the time.  The story didn't have to end there.  How about them trying to have kids, deciding to get married, dealing with Nicole's inherent mistrust of men.....etc.

This story has made Nicole an idiot and Eric a sanctimonious dick.  I mean really?  Who looks at someone dead in the face and flat out says "I hate you"?  He may have had a reason but for a man that was so heartbroken over not being able to be a priest that was a pretty shitty thing to say.

And don't even get me started on Jennifer and Daniel.  Break up.  Make up.  Break up.  Make up.  Christ these two are a damn broken record.  Swear never to be apart from each other each time....until someone else comes along and fucks with their happiness.  This is what makes audience members not want to tune in anymore.  Same shit, different day.

I always explain Marlena's actions or non-actions as... "It's all a part of the experiment."

I mean, today with the perfume and the staring and then finally the "If you can feel me, squeeze my hand" She's performing experiments on John on screen! Everything is good and right! Marlena's experiments continue. Go, Lady Sinister. Go!

I haven't quite been able to discern what sort of broad chemical experiment she's performing on Salem proper to have this 'Abby is good and pure while Sami is a demon despite the fact that Abby's the one who slept with Sami's fiance... Sami even suggesting that she's going to get revenge means that she needs to be put in her place! She needs to be taught a lesson! We don't know what that lesson is, exactly, because none of this seems to really support the 'turn the other cheek' credo we think we're spouting' nonsense but I'm not an evil genius. I'll figure it out at some point... but it's the only thing that explains the ridiculous stance so many are taking.

Hell if they wanted drama with Eric and Nicole they really should of brought Greta back.  I could even see a three way conflict with Eric deciding between staying a priest, Nicole, or Greta.  Or having the conflict of leaving the priesthood but deciding for who. Greta the good girl who he screwed things up with, or Nicole the bad girl who he loves but doesn't trust.

You would also have Greta for both Jon and Hope.  I always loved Greta's relationship as Jon and Hope's surrogate daughter.  Not to mention we could get a good sibling rivalry storyline with Ciara really embracing her dark side and going after Greta.

Adrienne is running around Salem criticizing people she doesn't even know, picking fights, and Adrienne then terms Sami as being "out of control."  {face palm}

Speaking of which, "out of control" really?  Have these people met Kate and Sami?  They haven't poisoned or shot anyone.  They haven't dumped any bodies in the river.  They haven't even tried to kill each other recently.

Also, while I enjoy their selling Stefano's island and EJ's race car, I thought they were going to be digging up more criminal evidence to put Stefano and EJ in prison forever.

Since the writers just had to have EJ/Sami have another war, why didn't they go all out with it?  EJ claims to want Sami back, however, his actions say something else entirely.  He tells the boring twit she is a wonderful beautiful person, but he loves Sami.  Then he tells Sami how horrible she is, and how his cheating is her fault.  EJ's strategy is odd to say the least.

If they were showing EJ only pretending to want Sami back, while planning on taking Johnny and Sydney, leaving Salem, and going somewhere where Sami can't find them, that I would believe.  I'm tired of EJ acting like he is Sami's victim.  If EJ wanted something different for his family and life, he shouldn't have raped Sami to get her pregnant with Johnny.  EJ didn't just choose this, he forced it, and now he's all "sometimes I just can't deal with my baby momma."  I want to shoot him in the head.

Any character growth these characters do experience is immediately washed away when they decide they need to create drama.

They've hit the reset button so many times on Nicole, Sami, Brady, and EJ, I've lost count.  They did the same thing with Nick in less than a year.  It's tiresome and annoying.
