zenme October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 Omg, I sobbed during Barbara's and Jenelle's portion of the show. I really feel for Barbara, and I'm trying to imagine having to give up my children at 5 years old to someone who I would be unsure would care for them properly. Mother or not. I hope Jenelle really grows up and takes care of her children. In the best scenario, she leaves Nathan and moves back in with Barbara. She takes her medication, and stays in school. Who am I kidding? It's just a matter of time that she gets busted for something, and Jace will be able to remain with Barbara til the end of time--fingers crossed. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-472759

How long do Janelle's relationships last? 5 minutes, usually? I'm guessing they'll split up, and Jace will remain with or go back to living with Barb, the only mother/mother-figure he's known, because it's only Nathan pushing for custody, not Janelle. Plus, how long has Janelle been sober? I truly hope she stays clean, but the odds are stacked against her. I would think it would be wise for Barb to wait x number of years (of Janelle's sobriety) before relinquishing custody to make sure it sticks. purplemonkey October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 I think Barbara and Nathan are each crazier than Jenelle. There, I said it. I have issues with Barbara's yelling, and I bet she's been that way most of her life. If Jenelle is indeed sober now (she was def unfit to be a mother when Jace was born) I could see her potentially being a decent person. Just don't rely on Nathan though, he is clearly trouble. I do think he knows Barb's on to him, and that's why he's trying to drive a wedge between Jenelle and Barbara, and taking Jace away would accomplish that. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-472853
meisje October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 I really really need the creators of the TM cartoon bits to draw one of a massive red boxing glove and have it smack Drew straight in his willfully-ignorant dope stare, and I need it stat! Before my brain gets totally bogged down in the contemptible aspects of this mess, I want to give a shout-out for my favorite part: Isaac doing his kicks in his sharp red pants and shoes!! He's really hilarious, articulate and even-tempered for a kid his age. I just adore him and I feel terribly that ass-face Jo kicked Vee out because she's got to be missing him and wondering what will happen. Unfortunately, as soon as the new ladies in these guys' lives are on good terms with the ex, the guys generally "need space" about a week later... Sad Panda has made a career of talking up one of his teachers or mentors who is one of foremost experts in psychopathy in the US, so I cannot and I will not with his "I have trouble reading your expressions Jenelle..." straight-up f*ckery! I don't believe she's medicated and I don't think she's mature, she's always had zero affect when the issue being discussed is not her happiness, her desires, praise for her or how the world affects her. The conversation about calling Barbara mom -- because it's only important that Jenelle and Nathan get the result they demand! and the way Panda ran right through Jace's night-time habit of asking Barbara, aka "mom," to stay up and watch tv with him and reassure him about what will happen when she dies instead of going to bed feeling a bit safe like other kids his age, made me want to weep. Fuck you Drew for suggesting his anxieties are due to being away from Jenelle! Where was Chevy Chase to come out and shout "Jane, you ignorant slut!"? Um, I'm concerned about all of Leah's girlses, for realses. They all seem a bit malnourished, strung out and ADD-ish. Of all the kids that I expected would have trouble answering Drew, Ali and Gracie were not the two I expected. And Adeline (or however that crazy hillbilly spells it) looks like she is not with the program at all. I don't think Leah's "one-on-one" concept is working out too well -- but I do love that she was stupid enough to put it out there that she has that alone time with her infant/toddler every other weekend. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-472899
Maharincess October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 (edited) Jenelle was leaning as far away from Nathan as she could possibly get. I hate when they talk about how Jace behaves at their house compared to how he behaves at home. Don't these idiots realize that kids are always better behaved for other people than they are for their parent/primary care taker? Every kid I've ever known has been like that. My daughter will complain about things her kids do, and I laugh and say they never do that at my house. Same conversation I had with my own mom and she laughed at me. sandwoman October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 That moment of weird silence after Drew was like "I found it very moving to watch Barb this season and see her worry about the impact of everything on Jace" and Janelle and Nathan just S-T-A-R-E-D with dead eyes was terrifying. Like they couldn't (or wouldn't??) even read the social cue of like "say something nice about Barb" or "say something about how you worry about Jace too" or Anything to show some compassion. They can't even Pretend to be humans with emotions. And the way they (well, Nathan) Obsess over what Jace calls Barb is Fucked Up. Focusing on what Jace calls her instead of focusing on his Actual well-being shows how they (again, mostly Nathan) are obsessed with control and with appearances. He doesn't care about how it's going to fuck up Jace to yell at him not to call the woman who raised him 'mom', it's all about some weird fantasy-world that Janelle and Nathan are living in where they're the smartest and the best "co-parents" in the world. ghoulina October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 This thing was putting me to sleep last night. There is really no point in having a "check up" special if Dr. Drew refuses to get real with these girls. Shit, he can badger Chelsea about her sex life, but he can't get in depth and call Kail out on her "white boy" comments? So over it. No, all he does is pussy foot around Kail, because clearly he is scared of her going all Hulk on him.... ....and then we have him forcing the audience to fucking CLAP for Jenelle? What has that bitch done that is worthy of applause? Was it staying single for all of five minutes? Meeting her current squeeze on a dating app and beginning a relationship while possibly carrying remains of another man's baby in her uterus? Was it getting pregnant with the new one 5 minutes after aborting the last one, while still being married to the imprisoned ex? She would clap because she's managed to stay out of jail, for what? One year? Don't tell me to clap for her staying sober that long, because I'll believe it when I see the drug test. Maybe she deserves applause for continuing to fight like a lunatic in front of her son? And for making it quite clear to that son that she doesn't want him back, because now she's having a different baby? Perhaps Dr. Drew would like us to applaud her wonderful animal care-giving skills? Someone....please tell me why that bitch deserves any applause. Yea, I just can't. And, then, back to Kail....I feel very sad for Isaac. Dr. Drew is right about one thing, he is a sensitive little boy. And I do not foresee a lot of harmony in his future. Vee and Jo broke up, which is very sad - because she was really good with him, and he clearly loved her a lot. And I really don't see Javi and Kail staying together much longer. She treats him like shit. He sat there on that couch last night like a totally henpecked, defeated sad sack. She does not respect him as a father and he feels unloved in their relationship. How messed up is that??? But yea, I would be insanely pissed to find out she left my son with Suzi while she went to a fucking Scentsy party. I don't care if she was sober when she called. Hello, you've been dealing with this for 22 years! You know she is a drunk who can't be trusted. And to find out she fed an infant whole milk??? Oh, I would be livid. But she just sits there and blubbers, like it's all about her, and how she'll always go back to her mom. Kail is fucked. So is Jenelle. And so is mfing Dr. Drew and the way he placates these girls. I just can't. 10 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-473469
kathybgd October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 (edited) I can NOT put down here the red hot burning anger I feel after watching this show! That Dr.is nothing but a quack! He didn't even know where to take the subject of what was going on with that fat , miserable cow and her spineless husband Javi! It was horribly uncomfortable to watch.. But that wasn't what boiled my blood.. It was the complete pandering to that, that psychologically INSANE twosome! If Jace ends up with these two I fear for that poor little boys life and blame this creepy illbegotton Dr this show has. It doesn't even take a Dr. to see these two are so damned detached from the real world. I hardly could contain myself watching that orange shit just sit there with that UGLY, UGLY permanent smirk on her fucking face, never mind that horrible BOYfiiend of hers whos in denial about why he got arrested. I was screaming at the TV for that pos to shut his maw about sweet little Jace's circumstance when he doesn't even mention (nobody does) where the hell his little girl is and who is looking after her well being! What an absolute joke this show is but sadly their are little lives involved. I don't care for Barb, but if Jace has to be somewhere, well this is what's best in this horrible situation. I'm mad at her for letting this daughter of hers get off so easy after five years of living hell she put that child through. FUCK the adults here and their feelings with their tears and dead smirks! It's all about Jace and his well being! I could care LESS that this twat Janelle has a day of sobriety! And I even question that! It's so much more than that for raising a kid! And when the hell did the word co parenting belong in the sentence of two people living together and raising a child? It's just plain old "parenting" . Idiots. I guess the word 'stable' is a key word here when discussing ones ability for caring for a child.. That's all that matters in these two nuts little world! Being sober and stable. Well shoot! Give them them an award! (slow sarcastic clap) I can't stand the sight of these two very sick individuals! Ghoulina, I was writing my comment , did not read yours yet, but yes. poeticlicensed October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 So in typical Sad Panda fashion, he celebrates Janelle and calls no one out on their shit. What about Janelle abusing the dogs? What about Kail with her irrational plan to ruin Jo's six week visitation by wanting him to go on vacation with them? Manipulation, pure and simple. Kail - It's clear that Javi has had it. Kail is a bitch. I know she had a crappy childhood, has abandonment issues and a fucked up mom. Sad Panda should be encouraging her to get counseling for her issues, because otherwise, she is going to end up as a single mom to two kids. Especially since she recognizes that she lashed out when she is stressed. And to deal with Suzi. Jo gets wider everytime I see him. The people I felt the worst for in that whole situation were Isaac and Vee. Janelle - there are no words for this crazy bitch. Why Sad Panda didn't call those two assholes out is beyond me. Why doesn't Janelle move closer to Barb? That would solve the school issue and help with the transition. Nathan and Janelle are unemployed and I don't buy for one second that Janelle is "in school". Nope, Nathan despises Barb, because she has the control over Jace that he wants and she calls both of them out on their shit. Rageboy can't stand that. So nathan and Janelle are playing the consummate Disneyland dad by taking Jace to entertainment venues while they have him then spending the rest of the time asking him if he wants to live with them. Pure manipulation. Newsflash to Janelle, as soon at the MTV money stops flowing, Nathan is long gone. I really hope MTV is paying Barb as much as if not more than Janelle. She is Jace's mom, not Janelle. Why would he call Janelle mom? She has never been one to him. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-473647

JoannKB October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 Although I agree it was not the best choice for Kail to leave her sons with her mother for the night, I felt for her when Javi said that he would not let Lincoln be in the care of anyone except his mother or sister (who live 2 hours away). He is basically denying Kail the chance to have any sort of babysitting help. How is she supposed to go back to college, and work at the same time, when Javi is basically chaining her to the house to take care of Lincoln? Just because Kail's Mom is a crappy babysitter does not mean that they couldn't find a competent, professional babysitter if Javi would allow it. Sorry dude, but you made your bed there. Lie in it. Or allow some freaking babysitters. Don't Javi and Kail have any friends? When my kids were young, we used to swap babysitting with other couples with young kids. One Saturday night, I'd watch their kids and another Saturday they would watch ours. The best part was that it was cost free and we felt comfortable that some who knew our kids was watching them. Plus all the kids had a blast being together. When my kids got a little older, we used to have the kids spend the night at one and other's house. That way no one had to worry about rushing home and the kids thought it was a great big slumber party. God these people lack creativity. CaliforniaLove October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 I think little Javi might have said the thing about NO BABYSITTERS out of anger. He had to sound like "big, tough, manly - man protector of my son"...although when Dr. Drew said he was shaking he was so pissed off, I think he was actually shaking out of fear of the SMASH! 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-474426
RedKoolAide October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 Kail was happy as a lark when she heard Vee and Jo were no longer living together. Kail will always be a bitch. I don't expect her to change. I wish I had the words to describe Jenelle and Nathan. I'm at a loss. Cosmocrush October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 Don't Javi and Kail have any friends? When my kids were young, we used to swap babysitting with other couples with young kids. One Saturday night, I'd watch their kids and another Saturday they would watch ours. The best part was that it was cost free and we felt comfortable that some who knew our kids was watching them. Plus all the kids had a blast being together. When my kids got a little older, we used to have the kids spend the night at one and other's house. That way no one had to worry about rushing home and the kids thought it was a great big slumber party. God these people lack creativity. I get your point poeticlicensed, but I think most of Kail's friends probably still live back wherever it was they moved from and really, how many 21 year old couples have two kids? I don't understand why Nathan and Janelle have to live an hour away from Barb and Jace. Neither one of them have jobs and Janelle's classes are online. IF they really wanted to be part of Jace's life they could live near him and his school and if a transition back to Janelle ever really happened, it wouldn't be so traumatic. It sounds like Barb found a good school for Jace - which could make a huge difference in that kid's future. I think living at least an hour away is all about Nathan trying to isolate Janelle and custody of Jace is about sticking it to Barb. When Nathan said he wanted Jace to live with them because Jace needs a 'male role model' and he didn't like some of the behaviors he saw in Jace, chills went down my spine. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-474645

I think that Kail and Javi have been living in Delaware long enough to make friends with other parents. Isaac is in school and does activities, that's where parents with same age children meet. Also Javi is in the military and military families tend to be tight with each other. You woudl think she would be seeking out other wives, just in case Javi gets deployed, she is going to really need lots of support. Plus, what rule says that people have to be the same age to be friends? I met my babysitting swap friend through t-ball and scouts. She and her husband are 15 years younger than my husband and I, but her oldest and my youngest were in stuff together. I watched her son and daughter when her daughter was a toddler and she watched my youngest. Even though our kids are pretty much grown, we are still very close friends. My guess is that Kail is not a very friendly person, so it's difficult to build those kids of relationships. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-474721
SPLAIN October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 (edited) Kail has no trust leaving her kids with other people, period. She is not going to trust other military wives or families to help babysit. Kail can't make friends because she is SOOOOO TIRED AND FRUSTRATED from trying to be the perfect breast-feeding bitch ever! She has to cook all damn day popping frozen food into the microwave. The girl is too damn busy to have a social life or make new friends. Suzi was given the prize of watching the kids because Kail apparently had somewhere to go. What I want to know is, where did Kail go that was so important that she thought it was okay to leave the kids with an alcoholic? Kail doesn't even trust Jo to be with his own child. Did you all hear her say to Dr. Drew how Isaac didn't come home with "any bad habits" after he was with Jo for six weeks? What kind of bullshit comment is that? Apparently the kind that comes from someone who has no trust in her child's father or his family. Kail thinks only SHE can make sure all of Isaac's needs are met and that only SHE has the right to raise him the way she wants and only SHE can do things the right way. Remember, this is the girl who said she doesn't give a shit about anyone else's opinions. Javi's family is two hours away? I forgot all about that distance. All of their complaining about not being able to have date night sounds like they are both being drama queens. Who chose to move three hours away from the Riveras and the Marroquins? Kail. Who chose her husband's career? Kail. I can't get on board with their pity party. Not one bit. When Javi said he was furious about Suzy being drunk, Kail turned her head QUICK!! Did anyone else notice that Hulk turn her head that fast? I am surprised she didn't get whiplash. Baby Adderall malnourished? That kid looks like all she eats is Cheetos and bacon. She is looking a bit plump. Nothing wrong with that, afterall, she is a growing baby. When my brother and s-i-l moved for his job she didn't really have any local friends until after she had kids and those kids were in preschool. And she and my brother were 5-10 years older than the other parents as well. On the other hand, those same kids are now in high school and NEVER had a babysitter outside of my parents (who live an hour away) or me (who lives an hour away in the other direction) and that was maybe a few times a year. Same with their friends kids. They don't seem to want to do anything without their children. I don't know if that's how parents roll these days or what but it seemed like Kail and Javi wanted some alone time together and I can see how it could be tough on a young marriage not to have it. edited to fix autocorrect Edited October 16, 2014 by Cosmocrush 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-474790

If they MUST kno lmao" I think it was in another thread I wondered whether Nip's mother has custody of his daughter (Niplette?). Does anybody know? Because it might actually make a tiny bit of sense for him to want to stay close to there, regardless of his white-hot hatred of Barbara. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-475019
lovesnark October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 Ugh! I didn't think my opinion of Sad Panda could get any lower. Until he said that maybe Jace worries about being alone because Barb got custody of him as an infant. Gee, I guess all those years of medical school made him unable to see clearly. Maybe Jace worries because his dead eyed bitch of a biological mother has breezed in and out of his life in between her man du jour, drug du jour, arrests and jail time. If he has to go live with her, I'm sure he's worried like crazy that she'll disappear for months on end again. Jace calls Barb mama because that's what she is to him. Nipples and Dead Eyes can shut the fuck up about what he calls the only one in his life that truly cares about him. Personally, I think he should call Dead Eyes gestational carrier. I agree with the observation that Nipples was barely able to contain his rage as he sat there on the couch. My hope is that he rages out and winds up back in jail sooner rather than later. Strong male figure, my ass. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-475083

I don't think they moved away from Barb so that they could workout together (lol) though since Kaiser wasn't even born (or conceived?) yet when they decided to live an hour away from Jace, his school, and Barb. Maybe it does have something to do with his daughter but I strongly suspect it's more about isolating Janelle (and eventually Jace) from Barb. That poor kid isn't going to have a chance in hell without Barb (his best option for a parent) and a good school. configdotsys October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 Before reading everyone else's comments… Fuck you, Dr. Drew. Javi is allowed to be pissed off. Kail's "I'm telling you know. So I'm sorry," was said in tone that just makes me crazy. It's as if the person that caused the anger is now pissed that the other person is mad. They don't have the resources to hire a sitter so they can go out alone? Seriously? Javi looks at the end of his rope. At 22. How sad. It won't get better as long as Kail's attitude is "I don't know why I push him away. It's a bad habit." Okay, then. Obviously she plans to do nothing to try and change that so Javi can look forward to a life of misery and walking on eggshells in his own house so the hulk doesn't appear and knock him upside his head. It's so incredibly irritating to me to watch Drew observe a bombshell being dropped-- and Kail's leaving Lincoln with her drunk mother was a bombshell to his father-- and then almost dismiss Javi's anger as "Well, Kail's dealing with this too." It's not fair to disallow a person to work through their anger and let it cool down rather than enrage them with some info and expect them to just drop the matter in 15 seconds. Drew should have called Kail on the carpet for the thug comment, but of course he didn't. Onto Jenelle: Oh Lord. "Yeah, yeah, it felt really good to me that [mom] said that." She has no emotion whatsoever. She's like a wooden person with zero feelings or personality. I'm barfing here about Nathan's Mr. Military persona, all the while looking like the time bomb he is. His eyes scream anger. All the time. He is so full of shit with regard to his drunkenness. LOL. So Nathan is a strong fatherly figure. A guy who ran out on his other kid. Here we go again with "He's an angel when he's with me, but Satanic when with you" business. Please. Asking Jace "Do you want to live here" is nothing but cruel to do to a kid. Fuck you Jenelle, Jace will call you Mom" when you are his mom. Bitch. I didn't bother to watch the scripted bull shit questions at the end. I cannot deal with this host. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-475137
FozzyBear October 16, 2014 Share October 16, 2014 Javi and Kali have a really uncomfortable dynamic. Kali is so damaged and I woul have killed her about Susie thing, but Javi is such a smug little bastard and his sisters creep me out. I'm guessing Kali gets a lot of lectures about the way a real family does things. Like the babysitting thing I can just imagine a lot of "I was only ever with family. You don't understand because your mom is an alcoholic" stuff. They're both assholes. I died laughing when Vee's repressed neck rolling finger snapping drama queen came out for a second when she was talking about the break up. Yup, Joe loves a little undercover crazy. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/16457-s05e30-finale-special-check-up-with-dr-drew-%E2%80%94-part-2/#findComment-475170

Oh, I agree about the isolating thing, but didn't want to pin 100% of it on that unless it looked like there was no other reason for Jenelle and him to figuratively (this time, anyway) slap Barbara AND Jace in the face by choosing to live so far away. And actually, if they did it to be closer to his daughter, that's still a huge insult to Jace, and possibly an even more personal one. I could have sworn I read that Nip's ex's parents had custody of his daughter. But I'm not certain. I kind of thought that, too, but I can't find anything one way or the other. Imagine...information about a reality TV participant (I won't even call that cretin a "personality") that isn't readily available by just browsing some tweets.
