Night Cheese April 15 Share April 15 Love this! I'm hoping and assuming they went on location to film this like the previous field trips/season finales. If I have ever been to the Please Touch Museum, I was too young to remember it, but I know of it well enough and am looking forward to seeing it on TV. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152972-s04e22-please-touch-museum/#findComment-8636281

MicheleinPhilly April 16 Share April 16 The Please Touch Museum is phenomenal! I absolutely LOVED going there as a kid because I was a little Curious George and loved the idea that I could touch things. Except for the giant hissing cockroach that they let us hold. I'm still traumatized by that experience and don't like to talk about it. I can't wait for this episode! 2 2 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152972-s04e22-please-touch-museum/#findComment-8636653
DearEvette April 16 Share April 16 Is it similar to the Rochester Museum of Play? We always went there as kids. It wasn't as cracked out then as it is today, but it as always a super fun time and it was near the Planetarium which was really my favorite. Also: a trailer second part of the Always Sunny Crossover (which would be an Always Sunny episode has dropped). https://tvline.com/trailers/its-always-sunny-season-17-date-trailer-abbott-elementary-1235435992/ 3 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152972-s04e22-please-touch-museum/#findComment-8636791

Galileo908 April 17 Share April 17 With Ava back, of course she goes scorched Earth like she's 47. "How do you impeach a principal" indeed. Gregory's dad is meeting Janine! I knew it wasn't gonna end well when she told him "I abhor nonsense," since we all know she's all about nonsense. But she got through to him by being herself! And reminding him of Greg's mom. That was really sweet to watch. It wouldn't be Janine if she didn't try too hard. Loved the little play of all the teachers playing each other. Sheryl Lee Ralph earning another Emmy with her performance as Melissa. And Melissa nailed it as Jacob. That wig! And of course Janine and Gregory played each other. So the District was defeated by the power of love! And Italian-American heritage. And Barbara's boyfriend Jesus. She's never living down her candle setting off a fire. And yes, it's hard to believe they're acknowledging the passage of time. No more RJ after this. It was a nice sendoff for the older kids. Usually I know nothing of fashion but...O'shon...no. What were you thinking with those earrings? But it was really nice to see that conversation afterwards...and they kissed! I'm looking forward to more of that. Well folks, it was an honor posting with y'all. See you in the fall. Or July 9th when the second part of the It's Always Sunny crossover airs. Whichever comes first. 12 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152972-s04e22-please-touch-museum/#findComment-8637405
Crashcourse April 17 Share April 17 There were so many things going on with so many kids running around. It was nice that Gregory and his dad had a heart-to-heart talk. Janine loosened up the stick up his ass dad enough that he began to like her. Don't care about O'Shon and Ava. I know she's supposed be showing "growth", but I still don't get what he sees in her. The play acting was...okay, but I'm glad the kids enjoyed it. 4 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152972-s04e22-please-touch-museum/#findComment-8637425

Loved Gregory's talk with his dad. I'm glad he got to see the real Janine - no surprise she wouldn't be able to keep up the pretense for very long. Gregory's bug-eyed reaction when watching his dad pretend to be a squirrel cracked me up. But yeah, the whole "Janine/mom" comparison makes a lot of sense, and I love how Gregory was reminded yet again of just why he loves Janine as he does :). Also loved the play, it was so fun seeing everyone pretending to be each other, and the choices of who played whom made perfect sense. A really sweet way for the older kids to honor their teachers and the school and say goodbye - that ending with Ava and the group reflecting on watching the kids grow up and move on gave me a bit of a lump in my throat :'). I'm also really jealous that I don't live anywhere near this museum, 'cause it looks REALLY cool and I would gladly go there if I had the opportunity to do so. Lucky kids. Glad Ava and O'Shon were able to work out the whole thing with the earrings. I'm glad that he had a backup that Ava genuinely did like. I hope these two last, they balance each other out well. Nice end to the season. Looking forwad to what season 5 has in store! 8 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152972-s04e22-please-touch-museum/#findComment-8637433

I would have been right there feeling queasy along with the teachers. The carousel animals were gorgeous. I was worried about the play or at least how the teachers would react to being made fun of AND having other teachers perform as them, but it was funny, and the teachers didn't seem offended. marceline April 17 Share April 17 I always love the season finales for this show. They really feel like the end of a school year. I just kept looking at RJ and thinking about how far he's come. The closing scenes where they talk about how the kids will always be part of the Abbott family, I believe the adults on the show feel that way about the child actors. I feel like we're going to find out that O'Shon comes from a wealthy family. Some old school Black family where great grandad invented the q-tip or something like that. I run hot and cold on Ava but her not wanting to hurt O'Shon's feelings really got to me. She loves hurting people's feelings. Barbara's reaction to the earrings cracked me up. 13 hours ago, Annber03 said: Gregory's bug-eyed reaction when watching his dad pretend to be a squirrel cracked me up. Still, as someone who has received a fair share of gifts that were totally not my style, this is one of the very few times I was sympathetic to Ava. The other side of that is O'Shon reading the room - it was pretty obvious that Ava was not that pleased with the gift. And since he had a back-up (his first choice?), it was a prime opportunity to present both gifts and let her choose the one she liked best. Problem solved and you learn more about what Ava likes! Glad that Janine reverted to being herself and Gregory's dad lightened up. I didn't understand why he would offer to chaperone if he didn't want to be around kids. DearEvette Saturday at 02:09 PM Share Saturday at 02:09 PM Maybe O'Shon just likes a prickly person? Ava wore the ugly earrings so as not to hurt his feelings. It tells us that Ava is being mindful of his feelings and she and O'Shon have a relationship that has progressed with interactions that we simply have not seen. I feel like we are being given context clues that she lowers her guard around but she isn't comfortable showing that public facing. I mean, they've pretty much given us Psychology 101 with Ava. Her father rejected her to go build another family. She has abandonment issues and a bit of self sabotage. She does the 'I will show you I don't care before you can pull the rug out from under me' to people who show they care about her. The show needs Principal Ava to be a certain way so we continue to see the Ava we were introduced to, but they've given us one or two glimpses of the deeper Ava. Also, she probably smells very good. 14 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152972-s04e22-please-touch-museum/#findComment-8640035

"Boats are for shipping freight and spreading norovirus." Guess Quinta doesn't want any cruise ship companies advertising on her show, lol. A "Pan's Labyrinth" film reference? Gosh, I hope none of those kids have watched it. Pure nightmare fuel, and deservedly rated R. "I don't want to reheat my own nachos." Who says that--other than Jacob--and why would anyone--other than Jacob--do that? Reheating nachos just makes the cheese harder; in my experience, anyway. "Gooby gooby goo!" Was Barbara trying to say "gabagool"? Cute reference to The Sopranos, I guess. CREAM CHEESE ON A HOT DOG?!!??!!?? Is that a Philly thing, to see how many random foods you can put cream cheese on? Yuck. Great season finale. Now comes the long, hard wait until the fall.
