Aurora and Breanna approach Robyn about returning to church.

They are desperate to get out of that house and away from their weird parents. Every time we see them they look miserable and the one acts just like Robyn with the weird cry thing. It might be too late to save her but the other sister might make it out okay if she leaves now.  Returning to church would probably mean that they are looking for polygamous husbands of their own to get on with their lives. I can totally see Robyn really talking that kind of marriage up, with her dreams of multiple rocking chairs on the porch and all.

Yeah, she can just replace sister wives on the chairs with daughters on the chairs.

I'll be interested to see what/what kind of church Robyn's girls attend. There's an AUB community in Mesa, Arizona, but that's three hours from Flagstaff. I could be wrong, but I don't think the AUB has anything near the Browns.

Anyone know of a site that will tell how many more episodes we are going to drag out this show this season? I seem to ask this every season.

Meri seems to be surrounded by really great friends. It still pains me to see her continue to furrow her brow and say that she thinks that the marriage could've been saved. There was a point in time when I thought Meri knew the score and was only in it for the TLC pay check but I see I was wrong. She was a true believer. Six months later, she finally admits and sees that Robyn is the favorite and Kody wanted no one else. Jeez!

Christine must have had 20 people with her at that bridal salon. I don't even think I have seen an entourage that big on Say yes to the dress. My introverted self could never, but if she likes, I love it for her.

No idea her gown was custom. For all that, it still didn't seem to fit her all that well around the bust and waist.

Robyn really never needs to offer an opinion on wedding dresses. EVER! She came into the family lying about the infamous gown shopping. LOL! at her saying the only wife that speaks to her is Meri.

Robyn's daughters body language, demeanor and tone of voice makes them seem like they are always apologizing in advance and on the verge of tears at the same time. Jeez, to have all that angst just to ask their mother to go to church. They probably have to have an ambulance on standby to ask to go to the movies or a party. No wonder the eldest is prone to panic attacks.

Surprise, surprise, not even the special tenders want any part of polygamy, but is is not like Robyn ever truly lived the principle anyway.

What annoys me is that with all the time that is being devoted to Christine's wedding prep now, that there will be a next season devoted to showing the Wedding AGAIN!!!  And then the Honeymoon???? "Dog" help us!!

It surely didn't look it and was a waste of money.  It looked completely off the rack.  None of Kody's wives have any fashion sense that I've seen.

The dressmakers only having 45 days to making Christine a fully custom dress I guess explains the end result. That's not a lot of time.

It completely depends on what else was in the dressmaker's pipeline.  My grandmother made custom wedding gowns.  I'd need to look at it again, but that was less than a week of sewing I'm pretty sure.  I'm guessing three days based on memory.

Same here. The whole season is comprised of events we've already heard about or have seen.

It's as if they took the film from last 2 years, and divided it into 2 seasons and just aired it, which included scene duplications.

Brianna and Aurora having a have a big conversation with their Mom to tell her they want to go to church was weird. These girls are in college. Can't they just...get themselves to church?

I also found it weird that they never talked to each other. They’re about the same age/peer group and live in the same house.

Most of those dresses Christine tried on were not flattering.  Very few people actually look good in a mermaid style.  A-line would have suited her much better.  The final dress even though the fit was off in places was better than some of the stuff she was trying on.  As to that huge group of people with her, not sure any of them are fashion mavens either.  That one hideous dress Mykelti picked should have been banned from the shop.  No one was going to look good in that thing.  And look at the outfit Christine came into the shop wearing.  I get that she is experimenting with different styles, but the only thing good about that was the color.

I'm remembering back to when I was Aurora and Breanna's ages.  I would nave never asked my parents for permission to go to church or not.  Robyn has completely infantilized those two.  I think they are just desperate for any sort of social life and figure Robyn would approve of church rather than them playing a sport or joining a hobby group.  Also, they are at the age that they can get themselves to church without mommy driving them.  Kody has a bunch of vehicles, so surely they have access to something.  They were acting like a couple of nervous 13-year-olds asking Mom to drive them to the movies with their first crush.  Time to cut the apron strings. I suspect the only reason Robyn's head didn't explode when Aurora said she was not going to have a plural marriage is that she is setting up a narrative that her marriage didn't work because of those mean other wives.

I was surprised at the cake tasting that Christine scolded Truely.  Yes, what she said was probably not appropriate, but Christine has been laughing off a lot of inappropriate stuff from all her kids.  Why in that moment did she suddenly decide to come down on Truely?  And why did there need to be that many people at the cake tasting when Christine said that it was supposed to be about her and David.  I did love that he told her to get all the cakes.  Production was probably paying, so go for it.

Finally, I'm really happy Meri has supportive friends in her life that are firmly telling her what reality is.  When she made that weak sauce statement about how monogamous marriages could be unhappy, I loved how that one woman laid it out for her.  I think that really gave Meri pause to think about what she has been living with and accepting for so many years.  I also was glad to see yet another couple of people who saw that Kody favored Robyn from the beginning.

Does anyone else think that Robyn's eyelashes looked either very heavily mascara-ed or false?

Aurora and Breanna seem like young teenagers instead of young adults.  They seem to lack the ability to make their own decisions, and that is sad.

Andreah. Hilaree. Destrie.

Utah, just stop.

Also, AndreAH, it does Meri no favors to tell her in the same breath that Kody doesn't want anyone else but Robyn.... BUT he's going to regret what he lost and end up missing Meri. The former is true. The latter is definitely not.

Didn't one of those daughters have some weird fainting thing whenever she got upset? I seem to remember Kody carrying her up the stairs. Maybe searching for a church is too stressful for her. 🤪

I’ve been watching this show for so long that I would miss it if it ended, but when we’re forced to watch the OG Browns eat cake and Robyn’s young adult daughters agonize over what kind of church to attend, we’ve officially hit the skids.  I’m hanging on for dear life here, TLC.

While I feel the same, I listen to three recap podcasts about this show and they are one of my happy places.  One of them is snarky, one has a host that does fantastic impressions of Robyn, Kody and now David, and one is more of a psychological/body language type of podcast.  I would miss the show as well, but I would miss these podcasts even more!

It's a little Stockholm syndrome-ish.  Aurora and Brianne are almost paralyzed with fear to have to talk to Robyn about finding a friend group outside of the walls of the Mansion.  I wonder if Robyn has instilled in them that not only does their own family hate them, but they can't trust anyone else outside of their home either.  Whatever the reason, those girls - Brianne especially - looked frightened to ask her mom if she could please have actual friends or, heaven forbid, a boyfriend.  I did like Aurora telling Robyn that she might want to explore Buddism - probably not what Robyn expected.  Hopefully the fainting couch wasn't occupied so it could catch Robyn as she swooned.  Well done, Aurora.

I don't know the name of the church, but it was posted on reddit that the girls did join a local "christian" church, which openly states very strong negative beliefs towards many members of the human race.

I have heard this too.  Those girls are so insulated, they seem ripe to get swept up in a cult other than the one they already live in.  Also, their half-siblings probably aren't interested in giving them much grace if they want to join a church that wouldn't accept some of them into their congregation.

100% - if Christine isn't going to ask Mykelti to kindly STFU, then don't come down on Truely - she was only extending a joke that Mykelti made in the first place.

Christine - let me get this straight - wanted a form-fitting but flowy dress, with a plunge down to her belly-button, yet off the shoulder with long sleeves.  I can't even remember the dress she wore but it seems like a lot of gravity-defying elements were built into her dream dress.  All I could think of was that off the shoulder long sleeves would pull at the deep plunge, making a nip-slip all the more likely...unless that's what Christine also wanted.  It wouldn't surprise me.

Oh gosh, my daughter's mother-in-law could give Robyn a run for her money in infantalizing her children.  She has controlled every aspect of their lives and everybody who isn't a family member (and that doesn't necessarily include outspoken daughters-in-law) are definitely not part of the inner circle.  She has 7 children - 2 are married and the other 5 still live at home.  The  youngest is 16 but all the rest are adults. The oldest son living at home (who has to be close to 30) is unemployed and can't drive.  Only one of the living at home children has her driver's license and for a long time she was the only one with a job.  Mother-in-law homeschooled them but pretty sure the 3 girls (between the ages of 19-23) do not have their graduation certificate and haven't registered for college.  Up until my son-in-law married my daughter he had never done his own taxes, registered himself for college, had a full-time job - it's a long list!  But I digress...

The thing that Robyn said that gobsmacked me was that going to church to find like-minded people was not a good reason...but I totally disagree.  Where are they supposed to find friends and boyfriends?  In a bar?  Walking the streets of Flagstaff?  At a job that they apparently don't have?  (Not going to debate the nature of their church since I don't know anything about it but yuck if it is not a kind and loving environment and welcoming to outsiders.)

I've done a 30-second search and found out what church they are attending.  Given their Belief Statement, they are not accepting of anything other than traditional marriage.  Not only do they believe that homosexuality is a sin, but divorce for any reason than adultery is not accepted.  Technically, Kody and Robyn are living in sin, according to this church.

If this was filmed last year, the girls were probably pretty familiar with their church's teaching, and may have opted to not attend Garrison's memorial service this year because they were afraid of interacting with their siblings who are gay/trans.

ETA:  I used to attend a church with as strict teachings as this one seems to have.  The congregation probably hears "Come out from among them and be ye separate" (Corinthians 6:17) as justification for avoiding interactions with people/groups that don't meet the church's teaching.

Thanks for the research!  So not only are they incredibly sheltered and childlike (I was married at Aurora's age!), they are hateful bigots.

Absolutely!  Everyone's Business But Mine (great snark).  Surviving Sister Wives, where the male host does impressions so funny I sometimes have to double over laughing (his David impression is perfection).  The Sister Wives Professor is the thoughtful but still funny podcast, the host is a professor of communications so his insights are really good.  I signed up for his Patreon just so I could listen to The Evolution of Robyn Brown, parts one and two.  He's also done deep dives into the parentification and infantilization of the Brown kids, and his podcast after Garrison's passing was extremely well done, IMO.

Robyn's older daughters need more independence. They should be able to check out churches without Robyn weighing in. From the way they talked, it sounded like Robyn and Kody had to approve the church or something. There is a huge difference between how Robyn parents and how the other (ex) wives parent, and I think Kody likes how Robyn enforces more control over her kids' lives. I got a real "Duggar vibe" from the church conversation with Robyn and the girls.

Even though it looked totally staged, I thought the women having lunch with Meri gave her some really great perspective. Meri would really benefit from some therapy to help her unpack everything that has happened since she got married at only 19 years old to a guy who later told her he wished he never married her.

There's nothing quite like misplaced vanity in a 50 year old woman.  I remember running into them trying to wear teen dresses when we were prom dress shopping for my daughters. After six kids and three more decades, the bosom needs some support not a plunging neckline.  From the photos at the time, Christine bought a dress that could have been properly fitted and had shoulder straps.  She's the one who shoved the straps down her arms ruining the line and the fit of the dress and lowering the V.  BTW from the photos in the People article the store fitted her in an off the rack dress.  I still need to see the episode to see what and how Christine was using custom dress.  45 days is plenty for the average store to pull up the shoulders which is what it looked like they were going to do even with all the other alterations in their pipeline. That would take me an hour tops and I'm slow.

I wouldn't have dreamed of letting the girls sag like that (when I still had them).  It isn't a good look for anyone!  (I must say that one of the few positives about having breast cancer and a DMX is that I rarely have to wear a bra now.)

I think her dress was too big at the wedding, I wondered if she was losing weight throughout this time.  I was actively dieting in the run-up to my own wedding and the seamstress had to take in the dress twice:  at both the 1st and 2nd fittings - she warned me at the 2nd fitting in her Italian accent "No more lose the weight! Your gown will be-a too beeg at the wedding!"  LOL

Yeah, I think she missed the step of having the seamstress take it in before the wedding.  To me Christine looked smaller after Kody but before she found David and may have been indulging more than usual before the wedding dress shopping. And then dieted down quickly so that she was swimming in the dress at the wedding. In the dress-shopping scene she appeared to be wearing some sort of Spanx that pushed fat up to her back, which made that hot-pink number look OK from the waist down, but unflattering from the waist up without proper support.

It is so funny how all the OGs dropped some weight and looks so much better after they left Kody.

No funnier than Jazz Jennings and Whitney Way Thore, two other TLC "stars," dropping weight at the same time.  Not to mention Adele, Kelly Clarkson, and countless others.  It no doubt has more to do with the recent popularity and availability of GLP-1s than Kody.

Christine's insistence on a do-over wedding seems to include the delusion that she has the body of a 20-year-old.  Hon, you're a middle-aged woman with a barrel shape and back fat.

Please dress your age, which includes getting rid of that awful pink jumpsuit showing your tat.

Also, a custom wedding dress and THREE large wedding cakes?  I can see TLC maybe springing for one, but...  David must be loaded!

TLC for my sanity please do not show Kody saying lover anymore, ick!

This episode I was distracted  not only by Robyn's eyebrows as usual but now her lashes were taking on a life of their own.

After divorcing douche head all the wives look beautiful and happy. Being unburdened from that arse is good for them I hope they all get to enjoy life now!

I have no clue and I still haven't figured out why she picked him...but she seems happy and I do have a cute 10-month old grandson so I guess sooner or later I will have to accept that they are probably going to stay together.  He set his sights on her when they first met (at the time she was dating someone else) and the minute he found out she had broken up with her ex he swooped in and snatched her up.  The only thing I can say is that he has excellent taste.

Her lashes - that's what was different.  Now if she could only update her patterned polyester blouses to something more current like - well, anything else - she might start looking her age.  She did not dress like that when the show started.  I feel like no one should ever bring an open flame into her clothes closet.

All of these for me too, except Love Should Be Multiplied.  I find Ace a little too mean sometimes.  But honestly, I love the recaps more than I like the actual show.  I love to take walks while listening to these people pick apart the Browns and their ways.  And Kara Berry from EBBM also got me hooked on Seeking Sister Wife - a show I swore I would not watch - because I love her recaps so much.  Also Plathville.  And Real Housewives of SLC.  Those are also Kara's fault, lol.

What do you think of Corey's impressions of Kody, Robyn and David? 😄
