Sobbyns not sad she doesn't have the large plyg fam, she's sad she has nobody to lord it over as the head wife now.

She wanted to be the FAVORITE not the ONLY!  It really is funny to see her realize that she got the loser all to herself.

Robyn’s kids followed protoCULLS!

But seriously how long are Robyn’s kids going to live with them?  Why are these adults not wanting to move to their own homes or apartments?  They are such strange people, always so sad, always on the verge of crying, talking about safe spaces or safe conversations.

What a terrible job Robyn did in not preparing them for the real world where no one will cater to every anxiety or need to be safe.

I'm beginning to think that those sad sack faces are just for the camera/our consumption. (Coached by Sobbyn to always look sad in the interviews.) In the last episode I think it was,  I noticed in the flashback to Aspen and Mitch's wedding, one of the girls had a big grin on her face and was clapping and jumping for joy at something. She was just at the edge of the shot and probably thought no one was taping.

Those girls and the tenders I'm afraid too are Sobbyin's puppets. I don't know what fear she has instilled in them but they dare not stray from her and Kody's side it seems. I hope they are not really that way IRL, I hope they can have happy lives of their own at some point. Dayton's absence seems to indicate he has pulled away...hopefully!

Good point! At the time, he said over and over that he had no obligation to his adult kids and once they were 18 they didn't need to be living at home. But now that some of Robyn's kids are over 18 he's changed his tune on that one.

Don't really care about David and Christine, they are happy, and that's good.

I'm here for Janelle finding a good man who loves her and the land. Maybe a long-haul truck driver so she can have her much-desired independence.

Wouldn't mind Meri finding a guy too. She deserves it.

Those two finding love would make Kody's head explode.

I  had to hit pause and take a break from watching the episode because I was so disgusted by the tongue bath Mykelti and Tony were giving Robyn.  I mean, it's nice she helped out, sure.  But going on and on and lauding Robyn for getting a baby to take a shit seems ... excessive.   Especially in front of Christine.  It felt unnecessary and insensitive.

Why on earth were they acting that way?

The only reason that I can think of is that back when this was filmed they were hoping that the show would go on for several more seasons and that they would have a big part in the show. Maybe they thought that Kody controlled the money from the show and they wanted to stay on his good side. But I have to agree that the way Mykelti carried on even tearing up about how much Robyn meant to her while she was having her 'tough" teen years and how Robyn was the only one who understood her was way overboard. Mykelti has always impressed me as bing a demanding kid when she was growing up. Now she is just a smug know it all.

Kody probably demanded that "both sides" be represented, not just the one where the family villainizes him and Robyn and because Mykelti is basically the only family member that will sing Robyn's praises they made her pour it on really thick.

IMO, the bottom line is that Kody feels betrayed by his exes (even though he NEVER EVER loved them) because he feels he was out of their league and he was doing them a favor by marrying them. He is pissed that they aren't grateful and dared to be unsatisfied by the emotional crumbs he was willing to throw them.  In his mind, HE has too much to do to pay attention to everyone and therefore they should all just accept what little they get and shut up about it. I also think this is essentially how it went for 25 years until everyone got a front row seat to HOW MUCH MORE he was willing and able to give the Robyn crew.

Its akin to the scene in When Harry Met Sally when Sally realizes "It wasn't that he didn't want to get married; it was that he didn't want to marry ME." That is SO PAINFUL to realize.  All the OG wives and  the kids got that and Kody cant wrap his brain around it.

I think he's angry at the wrong people. He should be mad at his misguided religious beliefs and himself. I think he feels that he was misled and pressured into marrying women he didn't have anything in common with or romantic feelings for because "God" or his church wanted him to do it, when in actuality he used those religious beliefs as an excuse to get off on being the king of his very own harem. It didn't matter so much whether he really had anything in common with them. They were "good enough" for his purposes to have a family with and lord over like a sultan. In other words he couldn't see past the end of his you-know-what.

As he got older and stopped thinking with his "little head" so much anymore he realized that he didn't even like any of these women much less love them. He had no desire to try to make his relationships with them any better because he saw that it was a lost cause, especially after being with Robyn and feeling like it was so much easier because she just accepted his crap without complaints. His OG wives were there to serve a purpose but not one beyond having sex and raising children with them. When he found someone else he matched with better and his OG wives stopped caving in and flattering his ego at their expense he decided they weren't worth the work. And because his kids with the OG wives were mostly grown, he felt OK about distancing himself from them and their children. But true to his selfish nature none of what he did with them can be because he married them for the wrong reasons and because of that has any responsibility in their unhappiness and ultimately leaving him. Oh noooo, he can't ever admit to that. So he has to spin it that it's their fault somehow.

As far as Mykelti and Robyn go, I think theirs was a symbiotic relationship from the get-go.  Mykelti was Christine's "problem child," the one who kept her up at night.  She was one blonde in a house full of them and she craved and needed attention just like all of her other siblings.  Enter Robyn, cap in hand, very much wanting to fit in with this established family.  She saw Mykelti, the outsider, and decided that she was Robyn's entryway into the deeper circles of the family, and Mykelti saw Robyn as a way to get closer to her dad as well as shun her mother, who likely didn't have a lot of time for her.  Win-win for them both.

I believe I've read that now, Mykelti and Tony no longer have a relationship with Robyn and Kody.  But before that, Mykelti had to have been aware of the awful things Kody was saying about her mother so the fact that she still maintained this close relationship with Robyn is harder to understand.  But she was plopped into a huge family with a narcissistic dad and a mother who simpered and bargained to get Kody over there once in awhile to be a father to their kids.  It was a mess from the get-go.  I feel like Mykelti did whatever she had to do to get some parental attention so I don't fault her.  And now, she seems to be a great mother to her own kids so in the end, despite her upbringing, she turned out pretty great.

If she has severed her relationship with Kody and Robyn, then Kody has lost the last tie to his family.  Gee, I wonder what he did wrong?

It has gotten too complicated and annoying to be amusing anymore. We are only hearing from Kody and the wives, plus Mykelti. All the other kids seem to be refusing to be more than background actors at this point (which I don't blame them for). So we are not hearing any other perspective. I can't watch a whole season of He Said/She Said talking heads.

That's my problem with this season. It's largely talking heads with the exception Mykelti giving birth. The problem is there really is no more sister wives. Christine  is wrapped up in her romance with David, Janelle is all about her kids and going  from house to house and Meri who knows what she is doing besides selling LulaRoe. There had been almost no interaction among the 3 OG wives. I don't see this continuing past this season the way it is going. And I am not going to tune in to see Robyn and Kody.

The only thing that could keep this going for yet another season is if Robyn were to dump him too. She looked more human in the scenes at Mykelti's than she has in years. I'd stay watching for her post-Kody glow up.

He’d probably say that rule only applies to boys.

It reminds me of that Warren Jeffs crazy compound where all the boys are driven off so the old pervert men can have the girls to themselves. (I’m NOT implying that Kody is doing anything with the girls) just pointing out that it’s common to kick the young men out as soon as possible.

I don't know @LilyD. I think Robyn's kids have different rules. I'm guessing the trailer was a compromise, and Day'un wanted more freedom, but she couldn't cut the cord. After all, the move to Flag was all about being near Day'un.

I think what Kody is most upset about is that Christine is the center of the family and not him. She always was but it was never so obvious, and if he watches the show it's essentially rubbed in his face every episode. It must have been a real knife to his kidneys (and ego) if he watched any part of the wedding episode.

I believe there were two main (non-covid) reasons he didn't go to Ysabel's surgery: 1.) He didn't want to spend an extended amount of time around Christine and 2.) He refused to accept the reality that the surgery was a dire necessity (her curve had progressed to a point where it could have affected major organ functions) and not a whim.

I agree the least he could have done was facetime her. And if he were a responsible dad, he would have put aside his loathing of Christine and helped out during her recovery in Flagstaff.

Do you or anyone know what their health insurance situation was for that surgery? If he had to pay out of pocket toward it maybe he also didn't want to accept that it was necessary because of what it was going to cost him.

I think she was finally able to get insurance but had out of pocket expenses of $50K. SOOOOO it sounds like father of the year did not help with Truley's illness expenses or Ysabel's.

She did. She begged her fans into buying those rags because she desperately needed 50k for that surgery. That begging was inaccurately translated into a GofundMe, hence the rumor.

Just watched- weekend treat. Re the epi title- are the jokers at TLC insinuating that Kody was ever "Mighty"? Bwwwaaahhhh.

Calling huge shenanigans on K and R's driveway chat, Robyn was so dramastic (old Teen Mom reference). Kody's buzz words are getting old. He simply cannot see that the children are going to side with their moms.

Good to see Robyn and Christine be able to be together without a lot of awkwardness.

K and R's Tgiving dinner look sad and boring.

Agree!! Wasn't it just such a coincidence that the two issues that have been discussed a lot by viewers just happen to both come up as he begins his redemption tour with this Robyn/Kody "adlibbed" conversation.?  #1 Not attending Ysabel's surgery or helping out when she came home and #2 Making the older boys move out.

Less money to spend on Precious Moments and tacky art!  What is it with these people!!!!?

Some sleuths on another message board have determined that the driveway scene (ie fake fight) was filmed much later in the timeline.  (Kody's jacket is a recent model, Robyn has lost weight, etc).  If it was filmed after Garrison's passing, I am going to be furious.  They think they can rewrite history to make Robyn look better.  Unbelievable!!!

One thing that Kody has repeatedly said over the years (esp since the Covid rift with Janelle's boys) is that his kids are ADULTS and, essentially, should magically become financially and emotionally dependent and capable as fully developed humans as soon as they hit the age of 18.

First of all, any of us with kids knows that that does NOT happen; and even if it did, they are our children and we (as emotionally mature adults) don't cease to care or feel invested in their lives. Kody has this image in his mind of his kids as little children flocking around him and adoring him unconditionally; then when they become of age they split off and become responsible adults- who still want to circle around with every holiday, live in the same geographical area and adhere to every religious and moral principle he spouts (yet doesn't follow).

Robyn kept saying "they're KIDS;" to which he answered "they're adults!!" Both can be true. My kids are all in their 30s and they are, well- my kids! And if one of them needs something, or is having a hard time, I want to be there for them.

ETA: One of the reasons one of Janelle's boys (Gabe maybe?) wanted to continue to live with her was because he was attending school and working. If any normal parent's 18/19 year old asked to live with Mom for those reasons, it would be fine. It's not like they just wanted to eat her food and play video games in her basement.

Part of me is surprised that Robyn hasn’t run screaming from Kody.

She has to listen to him whining , moaning and never shutting up about how hard done by he is. He will never listen to reason or accept that he is any way to blame. He believes his children should worship and adore him and never make a decision without his approval. When he was talking about wanting his boys to move out because they weren’t following COVID rules he almost slipped and said “my” rules.

I don’t particularly feel sorry for her. It is poetic justice that Robyn now has him all to herself and never gets a break from him. I hope Meri, Janelle and Christine have had many smiles thinking of her being stuck while enjoying their new lives.

She and the 'tenders' need the paycheck.

OK if this is true, the first thought Kody and Robyn had around Garrison's death was how can we turn this to our advantage?  Add to that the things Kody said about his kids that Robyn agreed with and the whole thing just makes me nauseous. These two are truly monsters.

Just curious how cases like this work in the USA? It’s likely that he isn’t on Ysabel’s birth certificate, which is common practise among polygamist dads. How would that work when taking legal actions over such cases or child support? Would it matter/hurt your case if you legally have no father? Especially if a man denies paternity.
Come to think of it:  Christine took full responsibility for Truley’s medical bill a few years back. So, he backed out of that one too. How did he manage to do that?

Yes!   And then he accused them of “going on vacation” when they went to her surgery.

And how much money is Kody spending on his face? His skin is nicer now than it ever was, his forehead is smooth, wrinkles and lines are decreased, and that type of upkeep isn’t cheap.  Ugh. I hate him.

There might be another reason Christine waited until now to sue for child support.  I believe she was on public aid at one  point?   She would  have been asked to identify her children’s father- and  most likely said she  didn’t know. What’s the statute of limitations for fraud?

It’s actually strongly advised to not pass a newborn around. It’s something any good midwife/OB will say. Not just because of Covid, but because newborns are so delicate that any infection can have serious consequences.
