The Olympians are sweet and such but I'm not interested in voting for them

I much prefer Dwight he has rhythm and of course Chandler was great. I just did not get excited for anyone else. I know Chandler will probably be an early boot but she's  a lovely dancer I want to see more

I know some of the other guys and girls are eye candy but I'm tired of seeing nothing much beyond a minimal technique and just flat out terrible choreo from everyone but Brandon! And Dan.

What  I loved about Dani's choreography is how fun and humorous and such different lifts than what she did with Iman. .

In the end, DwtS chose to give her a platform and you're all watching it.

We're watching, but it's not because of her. IOW, why give up our guilty pleasure for one lousy person? Producers love the controversy. They do it every year.

I was like...what the hell did she do to her face??? My gosh!! JUST STOP

I think Phaedra did something too. Just rewatching Traitors 2 and I don’t think the difference is just her hair colour/style.

Joey was a pleasant surprise, usually Bachelor guys have an awkwardness he doesn't have.

Chandler is great but she doesn't need me She will do fine.

I love Stephen. I'm a Big Bang Theory fan and he checks all the boxes. I expected him to be able to move, but he's so much fun too. He has eye issues, like me.

My late mom would have loved Dwight. She loved very tall guys with great smiles.

Of course, my husband loves Jenn. She's so cute. He unexpectedly watched the show with me, and him loving her is the least shocking thing of the night.

Brooks & Gleb hooking up, maybe. But the ones I hope click are Jenn & Sasha.

I have something in common with Tori, my name once upon a time was Donna Martin.

Honestly I had it streaming on my cell and tuned in when AGT went to commercial. I watched AGT and the Dog was a better dancer than 90% of what I saw on DWTS. I'm just not feeling this season I'll tune in when Chandler and Dwight dance until they get the boot. They will likely Charity Chandler and get rid of Dwight due to his topline being completely out of whack due to no fault of his own. But hey as long as the white stiff dancers go through it's all good

I was shocked to hear that Eric Roberts was going to be a contestant because I've been a fan of his for ages.  I don't think he's going to last long as he seems to still have impairments from his accident.  He had a problem keeping up with his partner.

Didn't he say something like his right side is a half step behind his left (or maybe the other way around)?

When he tossed his glasses aside I wondered if they were his real glasses. I could never risk breaking mine like that and I just have regular old nearsightedness. I remember reading that he has multiple eye conditions? I laughed at his little eyebrow raise or wink or whatever he did since I know people were asking if he was going to keep them on for the dance or not. (I didn't watch much of the Olympics but I saw some buzz about him and watched a few videos of his performances on the NBC youtube page; one of his teammates held onto his glasses while he was on the pommel horse.)

A new season, let the judging shenanigans begin!

OK, Brooks had a good tango for her first dance. Ilona's cha-cha was so-so, but they both get an 18. Propping right out of the gate. Reginald was awful. He did not move from one spot the whole time. All he did was move his legs up and down. A little. Should have gotten 3s and 4s at best. But he gets 16? Overly generous. And then Eric gets a 15? I mean, he wasn't very good either but he at least moved across the floor. Ridiculous.

Jenn and Chandler were both very good (ringers?) but Jenn got 19 and Chandler got a 23. WTF. I mean, maybe Chandler's technique was a little better but not four points better. Absurd.

Danny sort of walked thru the tango and got a 20. Overscored. Typical for the football players. Dwight was the surprise of the night, he's got moves. Stephen knocked it out of the part and only got a 21.

Tori, Tori, Tori. Whatever she's done to her face makes her look older than she actually is. There was a commercial for The Golden Bachelorette during this show. She's 61 and she looks younger than Tori, who is 51. Why do these women start screwing around with their faces? They never end up looking better.

I can't believe Brandon is still around, he brings absolutely nothing to the table. They could replace him with either of the two new troop guys, Roman or Marquette. They both look . . . promising. 😉

First of all, I am in awe of all of you who already know the names of everyone!  I have to pause after reading some posts and remind myself of which contestant goes with which name.  And, no, it's not just because of age...

I have such a soft spot in my heart for Reginald.  I would prefer Anna to leave before he does, but with the double elimination next week, he will probably be one of the eliminated.  Would it be a double older dancer boot with Eric as well?

I was impressed by Joey, Chandra, and Stephen (see?  you all have helped me learn some of their names...).  I wish they would soften all of the background noise when the hosts and contestants are dancing.  I don't understand why there is constant yelling (ok, this may be because of my age, but I don't think so-I just think it's annoying to have to struggle to hear what people are saying).

I'm only a couple years younger than Tori (will be 49 in a couple weeks) and I probably look at least 10 years younger (though I'm always told I look young for my age, so I don't really know what "my age" is supposed to look like). I can't imagine doing that to myself. I always wonder what people with these terrible fillers/botox/cosmetic surgery results actually see when they look in the mirror. Are they really seeing what they've done to themselves or is there some level of dysmorphia happening?

I know they probably have to beg well known celebrities to be on this show and they can't be too picky, but they really do need to have some kind of vetting process to make sure the contestants are physically capable of doing something resembling dancing.  I was so embarrassed watching Reginald, who clearly is not capable of dancing.  He seems like a very nice man, but he does not belong on a dancing show.  They have had older contestants who could dance (Cloris Leachman was 82 in her season, and she did very well), so it's not just an age thing, but age is definitely a factor.  I also don't know how Reginald got a higher score than Eric, who was bad, but at least tried to move.  I feel like Eric could get better with training, but I just don't think Reginald is physically capable of doing much more than walking.

So Anna's description was "fashionista and entrepreneur". So was "convicted fraudster" taken already??? I don't know what she is doing there. But I guess in a world where a convicted felon can run for president, a convicted felon can shill for votes on Dancing With the Stars.

Oh hello new long hair male troupe dancer. He is giving me young Greg Allman vibes, and I am here for it! Don't worry Gleb, I still think you're hot, despite myself!

Dwight had the only swag that I saw. But Danny Amendola is looking good. The first Bachelor guy was good. I thought Gleb's partner was underscored, like really, she was given the same as people who BARELY MOVED.

A lot of over-scoring and bland rah rah from the judges. This show is in DESPERATE need of Craig Revel Horwood!!!!

I don’t like Gleb. I don’t like his partner. I don’t like the constant showmances and that’s exactly where this is heading. Ugh.

Joey surprised me. I don’t always love Jenna but they were good

I think chandler should make it to finals. My worry is that Brandon is a lackluster choreographer and that may be their downfall. He needs to step up the choreo if they want a chance at finals.

rylees partner needs to slow down and breathe, he’s frantic out there. I realize the jive is a fast paced dance but it was frantic.

I love Reginald but Emma really needs to challenge him even though he’s an older contestant there is no reason he couldn’t have had more steps.

go away felon.

I love Ilona so much. That is all.

IMHO< the Night One scores are unimportant. Except that they impact who goes home next week, but so much goes into that not just scores. They don't like to score them too high, then there is no room for improvement. Derek did not give any 8's. That is premature on night one.

I see night one as breaking the ice, getting their feet wet, experiencing the nerves they are going to have. By week two, the real competition begins. You are still nervous? Get over it.

Charm & personality goes a long way towards getting audience votes. Anna Delvey has neither so she might be one of the 2 who goes next week.

I can't speak to how well known they are, but out of thirteen contestants, I had literally only heard of three of them before: Tori Spelling, Stephen the gymnast and Eric Roberts. I don't follow sports so I don't know any of the football or basketball players, I don't watch most of the trashy reality shows and I'm not up on the social media influencers and personalities.

It's ironic that the "Stars" of DWTS are actually the pro dancers now. I would classify very few of the contestants these days as "stars" but pros like Val, Sasha, Pasha, Witney, Emma and Gleb have been regulars on a top-rated network show for years. They are arguably much more famous than the vast majority of pseudo celebs and "personalities" that make up the contestants these days.

Very uneven scoring by the judges. No consistency based on the dance performances that I saw. Never heard of most of the "stars." I'm mostly watching for some of the ones that I do know, like the Olympians and actors.

I haven't watched DWTS in a very long time, but wanted to catch a couple of them tonight.  I love "pommel horse guy" and hope he stays on for quite a while.  Great personality, and obviously is as perfectly fit as you can get.

That said, that Anna person (the "fashionista" !?) was really entirely bad.  (They even gave her a very drab costume.)  She showed zero personality and I don't think ever smiled.  I'm hoping for a very early buh-bye to her.

Me too. I just feel sorry for Ezra. He gets a chance becoming  a new pro, and look who he gets lumbered  with.

I knew nothing about Anna Delvray until I googled her, but I was surprised at how devoid of personality she was. I would have expected a con artist to be oozing charm, but maybe now that she’s been caught, she doesn’t have to bother.

I’m rooting for Stephen and the other Olympian. I didn’t know about Eric Roberts’ issues but I couldn’t watch him after he couldn’t get down the stairs. Why incorporate stairs into a routine when your dancer can’t navigate them cleanly? It got the whole dance off to a bad start and I found myself looking at my iPad in secondhand embarrassment.

Between her giant lips and her foobs caving into her chest, girl friend is looking a mess. Tori, go talk  to your mom's surgeon, her work looks great. I get the feeling Tori's going to be a melt down in the making by like week 4 if she makes it that far though.

Pommel horse Steve did amazing. I had the biggest smile his whole dance. Yeah, he became a pommel horse specialist, but he's obviously got other gymnastic skills still. He's going to be fun to watch.

I was struck by how far apart Anna and Ezra stood when waiting for the judges remarks. All the other couples throw their arms around each other and stand close, but not these 2. Things must be tense.

His reaction when he saw her during the initial “reveal”  was also the most muted I’ve seen from someone since I started watching this show. I feel bad for him being stuck having to make the most out of this.

Joan the Bachelorette may be 61, but her face is no more natural than Tori's. Tori just unfortunately was never a classic beauty and in trying to make herself one, it's had an unfortunate effect. Also, she is so skinny which doesn't help. She looks like the skeleton emoji with lip filler.💀

I am rooting hard for the Olympians, but I think Stephen will last longer than Ilona. She is a beast on the rugby field and exudes such confidence on social media it was surprising and strange to see her so nervous. Hopefully she lasts long enough to get a little better and more confident. Stephen was great right out of the gate. Love him!

I also liked Dwight, but I think it's going to be awful when they have to do anything in hold like a waltz or tango. She looks like a midget next to him.

I don't usually root for bachelor franchise peeps or Disney kids, but both Joey and Chandler (how funny typing that!) were both really good!

Both old guys were awful. I loathe Phaedra, and Anna is gross.

I have the same type of hair as Julianne and that bob was FIRE. I now want to cut my hair. Hopefully I can keep watching this and resist the urge!

His face also spoke volumes when she said the best part is not doing the dance again. I don't know anything about her except from this forum. Just from this show, I wouldn't vote for her based on personality. Sorry Ezra.

I absolutely love Ilona. She is exactly the kind of woman I want my daughter looking up to when she’s older. Embrace who you are and how you were made. However, she was pretty nervous and it showed. I hope she can shake her nerves bc I do see potential there. I think she will be better in the in hold dances. None the less she is a role model for young girls everywhere and that is way more important than a dance show.

I can’t stand her. Not even basing that off of what she’s done. I’m basing it off of her stank attitude. The girl is entitled and clearly has no desire to be there. I love Ezra and I would love to see what he can do with someone who really wants to learn to dance. I can’t stand her unlikeable personality.
