Andiethewestie September 18 Share September 18 The Olympians are sweet and such but I'm not interested in voting for them I much prefer Dwight he has rhythm and of course Chandler was great. I just did not get excited for anyone else. I know Chandler will probably be an early boot but she's a lovely dancer I want to see more I know some of the other guys and girls are eye candy but I'm tired of seeing nothing much beyond a minimal technique and just flat out terrible choreo from everyone but Brandon! And Dan. What I loved about Dani's choreography is how fun and humorous and such different lifts than what she did with Iman. . 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149491-s33e01-premiere/page/3/#findComment-8458903

I love Stephen. I'm a Big Bang Theory fan and he checks all the boxes. I expected him to be able to move, but he's so much fun too. He has eye issues, like me. My late mom would have loved Dwight. I watched AGT and the Dog was a better dancer than 90% of what I saw on DWTS. I'm just not feeling this season I'll tune in when Chandler and Dwight dance until they get the boot. They will likely Charity Chandler and get rid of Dwight due to his topline being completely out of whack due to no fault of his own. But hey as long as the white stiff dancers go through it's all good 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149491-s33e01-premiere/page/3/#findComment-8458986

iMonrey September 18 Share September 18 A new season, let the judging shenanigans begin! OK, Brooks had a good tango for her first dance. Ilona's cha-cha was so-so, but they both get an 18. Propping right out of the gate. Reginald was awful. He did not move from one spot the whole time. All he did was move his legs up and down. A little. Should have gotten 3s and 4s at best. But he gets 16? Overly generous. And then Eric gets a 15? I mean, he wasn't very good either but he at least moved across the floor. Ridiculous. Jenn and Chandler were both very good (ringers?) but Jenn got 19 and Chandler got a 23. WTF. I mean, maybe Chandler's technique was a little better but not four points better. Absurd. Danny sort of walked thru the tango and got a 20. Overscored. Typical for the football players. Dwight was the surprise of the night, he's got moves. Stephen knocked it out of the part and only got a 21. Tori, Tori, Tori. Whatever she's done to her face makes her look older than she actually is. There was a commercial for The Golden Bachelorette during this show. She's 61 and she looks younger than Tori, who is 51. Why do these women start screwing around with their faces? They never end up looking better. I can't believe Brandon is still around, he brings absolutely nothing to the table. They could replace him with either of the two new troop guys, Roman or Marquette. They both look . . . promising. 😉 10 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149491-s33e01-premiere/page/3/#findComment-8459070
seacliffsal September 18 Share September 18 First of all, I am in awe of all of you who already know the names of everyone! I have to pause after reading some posts and remind myself of which contestant goes with which name. And, no, it's not just because of age... I have such a soft spot in my heart for Reginald. I would prefer Anna to leave before he does, but with the double elimination next week, he will probably be one of the eliminated. Would it be a double older dancer boot with Eric as well? I was impressed by Joey, Chandra, and Stephen (see? you all have helped me learn some of their names...). I wish they would soften all of the background noise when the hosts and contestants are dancing. I don't understand why there is constant yelling (ok, this may be because of my age, but I don't think so-I just think it's annoying to have to struggle to hear what people are saying). 8 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149491-s33e01-premiere/page/3/#findComment-8459077

I'm only a couple years younger than Tori (will be 49 in a couple weeks) and I probably look at least 10 years younger (though I'm always told I look young for my age, so I don't really know what "my age" is supposed to look like). I can't imagine doing that to myself. I always wonder what people with these terrible fillers/botox/cosmetic surgery results actually see when they look in the mirror. paul4295 September 18 Share September 18 I know they probably have to beg well known celebrities to be on this show and they can't be too picky, but they really do need to have some kind of vetting process to make sure the contestants are physically capable of doing something resembling dancing. I was so embarrassed watching Reginald, who clearly is not capable of dancing. He seems like a very nice man, but he does not belong on a dancing show. They have had older contestants who could dance (Cloris Leachman was 82 in her season, and she did very well), so it's not just an age thing, but age is definitely a factor. I also don't know how Reginald got a higher score than Eric, who was bad, but at least tried to move. I feel like Eric could get better with training, but I just don't think Reginald is physically capable of doing much more than walking. 11 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149491-s33e01-premiere/page/3/#findComment-8459099

I don’t always love Jenna but they were good I think chandler should make it to finals. My worry is that Brandon is a lackluster choreographer and that may be their downfall. He needs to step up the choreo if they want a chance at finals. rylees partner needs to slow down and breathe, he’s frantic out there. I realize the jive is a fast paced dance but it was frantic. TVMovieBuff September 18 Share September 18 (edited) IMHO< the Night One scores are unimportant. Except that they impact who goes home next week, but so much goes into that not just scores. They don't like to score them too high, then there is no room for improvement. Derek did not give any 8's. That is premature on night one. I see night one as breaking the ice, getting their feet wet, experiencing the nerves they are going to have. By week two, the real competition begins. You are still nervous? Get over it. Charm & personality goes a long way towards getting audience votes. Anna Delvey has neither so she might be one of the 2 who goes next week. I would classify very few of the contestants these days as "stars" but pros like Val, Sasha, Pasha, Witney, Emma and Gleb have been regulars on a top-rated network show for years. Her very last landing in the dance looked like she hit the ground SO hard and not on perfect balance. Those crazy lifts she did with Iman worked because he handled her so carefully, but this is a higher height and his hands don't seem as steady yet. Hopefully he can improve on that because he did surprisingly well, gigantic guys (aside from Iman) don't traditionally do well. Quote Dwight had the only swag that I saw. But Danny Amendola is looking good. The first Bachelor guy was good. I thought Gleb's partner was underscored, like really, she was given the same as people who BARELY MOVED. Yeah, I didn't exactly warm up to her and I never could stand Gleb, but I'd be pissed to get all that nitpicky criticism and bad scores when the people who didn't even move at all got bad scores with pats on the back. At first I thought maybe they were being hard on her because she was going to be the ringer of the season, but then the Disney chick came along. Clearly the ringer of the season and she got glowing praise, so I'm not 100% sure why Gleb's partner got that treatment. And no one is interested in that showmance angle, primarily because Gleb is unpopular and a Sports Illustrated model isn't likely to be a fave among this show's demographic, I see her as an early boot. Quote I know they probably have to beg well known celebrities to be on this show and they can't be too picky, but they really do need to have some kind of vetting process to make sure the contestants are physically capable of doing something resembling dancing. Yeah, if they want to be inclusive of all age groups, they really need to find those older people whose physical aging process has been a little kinder to their bodies. Reginald did the least dancing I've seen since the Mister P days, though he did it much more cheerfully. And why Britt incorporated stairs into Eric's routine is a real mystery, that started them off on the worst possible foot (pun intended). Quote Joan the Bachelorette may be 61, but her face is no more natural than Tori's. Tori just unfortunately was never a classic beauty and in trying to make herself one, it's had an unfortunate effect. Yeah, Tori has been getting plastic surgery probably since her teens, trying to measure up to the Hollywood crowd she was born into. Now that she's getting older, the effect is even worse. I find her hard to root for because she's broke as hell despite having been born into immense wealth. I understand that growing up rich might not teach you money skills, but with as many kids as she has, she needed to figure it out for their sakes. Not that it's my business, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when people bemoan their financial situations when they had every opportunity to make it different. Quote I kind of feel bad for Bachelorette Jenn. Bach Alumni traditionally do really well, but they had to put her on a season with the most popular Bachelor in years. I think Joey will pull a lot of the BN vote. Nothing against Joey, it just seems like she's a "second choice" yet again. Agreed. Jenn is actually a good dancer, but her Bachelorette season was one of the worst ever and I don't think she's coming in with a ton of fans. Joey, on the other hand, had one of the best seasons in recent memory and already has the goodwill of all of Bachelor Nation. And given that they encourage viewers to vote before a single dance step has even been taken, they're not even pretending anymore that the dancing is driving the votes. Anna Delvey is perhaps the oddest casting choice in this show's history. Sean Spicer was a controversial choice, but at least he was famous for his job. Bristol Palin was another controversial choice and her "fame" was tenuous at best, but this person is only known to the public for being an actual criminal. And her attitude is certainly not going to win anyone over to her side. And so much worse that the show is trying to pretend that she's famous for any other than her crimes. "Fashionista" and "socialite"? No. that's what she pretended to be while scamming others. the only thing that would make this palatable is if her appearance fees are used to pay back the victims of her crime. I'm less concerned about her legal fees or fines, but if the people who lost money had a chance to get reimbursed, then I guess that's something. I'm sure she's not going beyond week 1 but I think they get $125k just for showing up. 8 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149491-s33e01-premiere/page/3/#findComment-8462857

Anna doesn't belong on this show she's a thief she was featured on an episode of American Greed. If she wins they should confiscate her prize money to recompense her victims. “Entrepreneur”? Is that ABC speak for grifter? Felon? 4 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149491-s33e01-premiere/page/3/#findComment-8463002

Bristol was instructive on how much a great pro can bring to the table. Mark worked really hard and got her way beyond where she should have placed. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149491-s33e01-premiere/page/3/#findComment-8464208

I saw that episode and there was something surreal about them all shouting "Donna Martin gratuates!:" 2 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149491-s33e01-premiere/page/3/#findComment-8464218
