Denize Wednesday at 09:01 PM Share Wednesday at 09:01 PM All 5 could have gotten 1/5th from TLC, but since he didn't have a house, Kootie's share should have paid for his kids's needs while the wives paid the mortgage & utilities to run the houses and their personal expenses. 6 2 Link to comment

LilyD Wednesday at 10:07 PM Share Wednesday at 10:07 PM Iirc the criticism wasn’t about Meri’s LV house per se. It was about Meri’s overspending on the house and wanting an extra feature which was only possible if she took an extra addition. (Was it the pantry and wet bar?) I also remember a general feeling of unfairness about the allocated weekly household budget, where Meri received exactly the same as Janelle and Christine who each had so many more mouths to feed. 7 Link to comment

We used to opine that it made no sense that Meri would get a full share of the same amount as Christine and Janelle, who had five more kids each. And, of course, Kody had no house payments or anything else to pay for except perms and botox. One more round: Kody said publicly way early on that the TLC money was split six ways. Each of the five original adults got 1/6 and the remaining 1/6 went into a "pot" for special events/emergencies, etc like weddings and college. I'm not sure how well that sixth share held up and it seemed like it was at Kody's discretion so I'm pretty sure it was allocated to Robyn's or his needs or wants quite frequently until by COVID, those two were taking half for the two of them (3 of the 1/6 portions). 6 1 5 Link to comment
Absolom Thursday at 03:16 AM Share Thursday at 03:16 AM I could not live in that house K&R just bought. It's the ceilings and not the paint color but all the odd angles. The kitchenette stuck under the stairs was ludicrous to me. There's plenty of room to do it without making an eyesore. They should just rent warehouse space given it's mainly needed to hold their junk collection. 10 4 Link to comment

ginger90 Thursday at 12:25 PM Share Thursday at 12:25 PM (edited) All of the houses basically had the same square footage. She could not have a smaller house on that property. They each had a “budget”, she went over and paid the difference which wasn’t very much in comparison to the cost of building. Meri’s storylines were always overblown. How long did the catfish go on for? It’s still talked about on the show. Edited Thursday at 12:26 PM by ginger90 6 6 Link to comment

mythoughtis Thursday at 03:24 PM Share Thursday at 03:24 PM (edited) Meri’s space in the Lehi house was often the gathering place. She assumed it would be the same way in Vegas -hence the wet bar. However I think they ended up outside a lot and then Robyn’s house became the gathering place until they stopped letting people inside. What bothered me more was Meri’s insistence that her one child be granted the same budget as all six of Janelle’s or Christine’s. For example, Leon went to a private college in Utah. Logan, Aspen, MyKelti, Gabe, Gwen went to a state school in Nevada. Maddie went to a state school in Utah. Hunter, Paedon, Garrison went to the military etc Edited Thursday at 03:26 PM by mythoughtis 1 4 Link to comment

65mickey Thursday at 05:45 PM Share Thursday at 05:45 PM He got $420,000 to put up a 20% down payment. Where he got that money from is a mystery. Did he take out a home equity loan on the first Flagstaff property? That is if that home had that much equity. Did he borrow the money and use coyote pass as collateral? If he got a bridge loan why did he take the home off the market? Doesn't a bridge loan have to be paid back in a fairly short period of time? It's hard to know because what we are seeing on the show is 2 years ago. Kody seems to be one of those people who buys an expensive house and when he can't make the payments he somehow picks up and moves to another house. some of the housewives do this also. 2 2 3 Link to comment

laurakaye Friday at 12:53 PM Share Friday at 12:53 PM (edited) I hope that Ari or Sol don't have any kind of medical emergency or condition like Truely or Ysabel, since it seems Kody's money is all tied up in multi-million dollar mortgages, art pieces and Robyn's "collectibles." I don't care if what he is doing is legal, it's disgusting to live that way when you have 18 children - whether you claim them or not. So not only is he keeping money away from his ex-wives (somehow? maybe? I don't pretend to understand any of what he and Robyn are doing), it also bars any Brown kids from going to their dad for financial help. Just another door he's slammed and locked in their faces. I can't imagine how they must have felt seeing the inside of the Purple Bedazzled Mansion with its floor-to-ceiling artwork. Edited Friday at 12:53 PM by laurakaye 10 2 Link to comment
smarty Friday at 01:01 PM Share Friday at 01:01 PM Honestly, just seeing my dad buy a $2.1 Million dollar mansion while fighting my Mom to get her far share of the joint property/child support would make me angry. It's all well and good to say kids shouldn't be brought into their divorced parents' disagreements - but if your father is actively trying to cheat your mother out of her fair share then it is valid to choose not to have a relationship with him. 8 1 10 Link to comment

Meow Mix Sunday at 06:32 PM Share Sunday at 06:32 PM I've seen a few pictures of the interior of the new even larger barn than the one they already had and I am not impressed. The fixtures look like off the shelf stuff from Lowe's especially in the "gourmet" kitchen. But what really gets me is the flooring. The floors go in all different directions including diamond layouts in some rooms. I briefly considered a diamond layout when I had my bathroom redone, but I came to my senses. It would looks so dated and just odd. Their house doesn't even have their huge amount of junk in it yet and it already looks cluttered. My biggest question is how do they expect to heat and cool this place? They aren't going to have a family account to raid anymore because all three of the OG wives have finally disentangled their finances from him and Robyn. And even with all the money they stole from the OG3 they seemed unable to do even basic maintenance on the Precious Moments emporium. How will they manage this place when things start breaking down due to normal wear and tear? 8 Link to comment

Sasha888 Yest. at 12:22 AM Share Yest. at 12:22 AM I don't mind the new house too much, especially when compared to the one they are moving out of. I don't hate that one either, at least not as much as some people seem to...but I prefer this new one they are moving to over it. Of their homes in Flagstaff, the one I liked best was that first rental. I recently re-watched some old episodes, and had forgotten that house. (I don't know that if I had to spend my own money, I'd have chosen any of the 3 I've mentioned, though.) I agree that they seem to think the show will never end. Very bizarre. I'll be interested to see who moves into the guest house and that apartment/mother-in-law suite or whatever it's called in this new home. Her kids? Her mother? Mindy? Kody has plenty of "new" family to surround himself with, now that he's rid himself of his old family, because Robyn seems to be planning to bring in her whole tribe to live with them. I think Janelle hit the nail on the head when she said it would be very difficult for her kids to have a relationship with K&R because you have to agree to their delusional world view to have any relationship with them. They accept zero push back or discussion on anything they think, yet can't understand why the rest of the family doesn't like them. They are so odd. 10 Link to comment
WhatAmIWatching 20 hours ago Share 20 hours ago Woooeee I just saw the new house! The theme from the show Good Times keeps running through my mind. Robyn must be in pig heaven (it's a long way from that trailer with no heat -except a wood burning stove) while Kody most likely feels it's his due. How did K and R pull this off? I thought they took all of the equity out of their Flagstaff house in Helocs. Did his side business get a big contract or something? 3 Link to comment

ChristmasJones 14 hours ago Share 14 hours ago I have a proposal for the show when this ends. I would call it "Sister Wives Rewind" and it would feature Christine, Janelle, and Meri reacting to selected clips over the years - starting from the beginning. They would have to be together in the same physical space while doing this (or on a joint zoom call), and be prepared to give honest answers. The host would be someone who is very knowledgeable about Mormonism, polygamy, etc. I honestly think ratings would be through the roof for something like this. If they wanted to, they could create their own podcast/Youtube series like this and keep all the money for themselves. There are a ton of podcast hosts out there who are ex-Mormon who they could collaborate with. Folks like this- in this episode they talk about knowing Christine and Robyn when they were in their teens. 2 2 1 Link to comment
