These people appear to be back.

I was watching the show and it was boring and I was actually thinking, "Maybe I'll break free"  And then the New Hampshire Hillbillies showed up, and I'm afraid I'm not strong enough to resist.  Is it possible for a person to have just a "touch" of Down Syndrome?  He looks like it, and actually, the teen mom kind of does, too.  And we have the non-moneyed teen mom moving in with the moneyed (or at least more-moneyed) teen dad's family, although the teen dad claims he will have a fulltime job and support them, current joblessness notwithstanding.

And Jenna looks like a completely different person for some reason I can't put my finger on.  I thought maybe her face was just fat, but her body isn't so I don't know what's going on.  I admire her commitment to breast feeding, but don't really care for planning one's life via tarot (be sure to pronounce that second "t" if you wanna be like Jenna) cards.

Ok another season of unexpected!

I can’t remember half their names. It’s all becoming a blur.

The family with two sisters and one cousin entertained us with ultra sounds this week.

I think Jenna looks different because she lost pregnancy weight and dyed her hair. I hardly recognized her.   Looks like they have moved out of her dad and step mothers house.

One couple have moved in with his parents but her parents threw them a baby shower.

This first episode was more of an introduction. I was thinking this group are more Teen Moms than the 30 year olds on that show!

BE STILL MY HEART. The previews are priceless.

Oh, Lawrence. You never fail to disappoint. He never even learned from the Brady Bunch that women's work is hard, too? Lilly really knows how to pick 'em.

Was one of the dads actually calling his laboring girlfriend from the hospital parking lot to beg her not to have an epidural? If I saw that right, someone needs to shove a melon up his ass without anesthesia...preferably leaving it halfway in for several hours.

  • Love 10

DAMN, Jason. I can't wait to see you try to blame everything you said on the editing. This cannot possibly end well, especially with Kylen living in his parents' house. He's Matthew 2.0.

Emersyn's mom is so superior. Emersyn's future got STOLEN from her? More like she threw it away! You're plenty eager to blame this other family for what your kid did. Nobody raped her.

These two couples really set me off! Lawrence telling her her work isn't hard sent me from 0 to 60.

That other kid, I think, is the irresponsible narcissist with the palm tree hair. What it looked like to me was he was siting in some area right outside of the labor room while she was begging him to come sit with her. This toddler was playing on his phone while telling her he wouldn't be going in the room unless she consented to not having an epidural! If it's the guy I think it is, he's the one who was pressing for a home birth despite the fact it was frightening to her, didn't use birth control because he didn't feel like it, dropped out of school because he felt like it, etc., etc.

Then the freaking baby was escorted out of the hospital, and that's when he was sitting in his car whining about missing the birth. Someone needs to smack him upside the head. Wonder what horrendous thing he did in order to get himself thrown out. Probably strong armed the anesthetist who came to administer the epidural. Grrr.

  • Love 9

I thought palmtreehead (love the description, much easier than trying to remember his name!) wanted a home birth because he wouldn't be able to be present for the birth in the hospital due to Covid restrictions.  Whatever, he's a total @ss for wanting to have it "HIS" way with no regard for the safety and comfort of the MOTHER AND BABY.  I guess, what can we expect from these teen parents, if not for immaturity and self-centeredness?

Gotta love their ignorance with wanting to get out of the parent's house (we need our own place!), without realizing the cost.  Someone mentioned a rent amount in the area of $500 and I thought - whoa - sounds like a crap-shack.  And can we not forget about all the free on-site child care from the grandparents?

(edited)

Did anyone catch Lilly's Mom reminding them that she won't be there to do the baby's early feeding, so she can sleep in, and to watch the toddler? Yes, a helpful family member is great to have, but it sounds like mom is doing a lot. Lawrence may be a bonehead (he doesn't think being a stay at home mom is work) but Lilly is spoiled. I have a feeling they are both in for a reality check when it is all on them and the grandparents can start being empty nesters.

Emsersyn's Mom may need to chill out a bit. I think she was probably super strict and controlling and Emersyn rebelled. It sounds like they were going to send her to Military school because they found out she was smoking pot. That sounds harsh unless it was part of a larger disciplinary problem. Let's face it pot is legal in WA (at 21 anyway). It sounds like sending your kid away because they got into your liqueur cabinet. Now she is wary to have her daughter and grandchild spend time at the grandchild's father's house. It seems like it's too late to keep those two apart; they are co-parents now.

Finally, I'm worried about the girl with "palm-tree headed" boy. She seems to just go along with all his crap without objection. I want someone, her mom maybe, to pull her aside and encourage her to speak up for herself.

When palmtree head ( absolutely fantastic name ) was yapping away I wanted to slap him. Knows nothing but believes he knows everything. No consideration for what she has to through to give birth.
I think his father believes that saying he supports him is being a good father. It isn’t. There appears to be no consequences for anything the kid does. He’s not working or going to school and I would assume does nothing around the house. If he turns into a caring , thoughtful father I will be shocked.

Was it Palmtree Head (PTH) who he was a "professional rawdogger?"  He's a keeper, that one!  ;)

yes.  and she said he started with a condom and then took it off.  If he did that without consent (which wasn't clear from the interview since the girl has the IQ of salt and thought this was hilarious), that's rape in some states.  Palmtree head deserves all the world's scorn that this show will bring him.

For those of you who, like me, can't get enough of discussing this shitshow, both Reddit's r/TLCUnexpected and the Facebook group TLC Unexpected: Savage Edition are lit up over the new season.

I'm calling Jason Sideshow Bob in my head, but he's already earned every possible insult, so I'm on board with whatever you come up with.

PTH needs to do a stint in the army or some other structured training program. And let's face it, he wants to avoid a hospital birth to to escape the bill.

Lawrence is unfortunately gonna learn, this is what happens when you shack up with a girl who doesn't want to work. Her mom really has done her no favors.

I guess I gave Tyra too much credit. Why in god's name would she take back that wandering loser ?

Thank you for the referral on the FB group, I just applied to join and hope I get accepted.  One of the questions to join was "who is your favorite character on the show and why".  I answered "Jason, because he is so intelligent", LOL!

Oh, palmtree head (does he think he's attractive?) is a total douche (yes, much stronger words are applicable here).  Where is that poor girl's family?  If that is a step up she must really have a sad back story.

Lawrence is a horrible stepfather.  Sure Lilly is lazy, but that little spoiled girl is her daughter, and he treats her like a second class citizen.  Don't even get me started!

Emersyn's mother is ridiculous.  She can't shut the barn door now!

I still have hope for Tyra because she at least has managed not to get pregnant again (okay, setting the bar pretty low here).  I can't believe she is putting up with Alex after he cheated on her though.

PTH needs to do a stint in the army

Much as I love the idea of some drill sergeant handing him his ass, the army doesn't take high school dropouts.

Diego (Emiley's useless, selfish ex) did join up and hopefully got some benefit from the discipline. Diego had many faults, but he was on a football team in small-town Oklahoma, which does indicate he understood how to follow orders when it was good for him. I see no indication that PTH/Sideshow Bob ever had the capacity to show up for early morning practice or anything of that kind.

Especially ironic because his supposed argument for home birth was that hospitals "don't let dads be a part of the birth" 🙄

Yeah what went down at the hospital tour?  Maybe it is a covid thing, but even during the last 2 years dads were able to be in the room.

It was $400 and he seemed to think that was a lot.  He is in for an eye opener.

Lilly going on about getting 2 tvs, and 2 tv brackets, etc.  He looked defeated.  I know he said things about how a mother's work is not as hard as an outside job, but he is young, and I give him a pass for that.

She really thinks she is above the boyfriend's (can't remember his name) family.  She is up on a high horse and she has NO reason to think she should be.

PTH says the girl will have a pain free home birth? Is he just 17? I suppose the girl is having no pre natal care? If something happens to her or the baby, I do think those dumb parents should be held accountable. Why  they go along with this dumb ass kid is beyond me. He needs to be set out on the curb lawn. Does he work at all? I think they need to contact Human Services and see what counseling, or help is available to the kids, as things are not going to end well letting this boy make decisions about anything and everything.

  • Love 11

So.  Where was Emersyn's mother when she was at boyfriends house?  Mom seems to have had a few rodeos herself but seems to have finally landed herself pregnant herself but with a lovely home.  Waiting to hear her story.  Emersyn reminds me of those flower child cult.  Dreamy and irresponsible!  Her mother should have certainly had her on birth control!

Tara of all of them shows a bit of sense but then...was she doing the show in her bra???  She keeps getting all giggly when boyfriend appears or is all mentioned!

I'm impressed with her home.  I'm getting that's where their show money went!

Helicopter head guy is a spoiled brat.  He runs the show at his parent's home.  His dad said they were leaving so they wouldn't hear the screams during a home birth!  Great parenting!

Jenna is still being Jenna.  She has absolutely no respect for either parent.

Lilly is a princess and Lawrence expects more than she's willing to do.  He seems indifferent to the little girl.  Did I get that wrong?

It is an exciting your with all these different couples!

My guess is that he threw terrible tantrums as a toddler and his parents gave in. As he got older, the tantrums got bigger and scarier, so they've just continued to give in.

I have held back.  But here it goes.  These PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS are ALL at fault for these girls getting pregnant with low-life BOYS.  We need to stop filming this and GLORIFYING this.  The 'actors' all think it's funny.. Well wait until you have to live in the real inflation growing-up world.  Jesus Christ.. ENOUGH.  Stop with these shows with 16 and 17 year olds.  Get a fucking education.  STOP THE CYCLE.

My thoughts exactly. I don’t feel good watching this show. The parents and teen parents all seem to be of diminished IQ, I’m sorry to say that. The babies born into these situations are the ones that eventually bear the brunt of these careless decisions.

I feel bad for Kylean. Her father is dying, and it's clearly hard for her. I wonder if on some level her parents see her moving in with Jason as a way for her to live a semi-normal life and not have to watch her father deteriorate on a daily basis. I don't think her parents see the giant red flags Jason is setting off. Maybe because they are coping with her father's health issues. Someone Kylean trusts really needs to step in and talk to her about Jason.

I feel sorry for Kyllean's father.  No one can expect or have to deal with this at such a young age.  BUT. . Maybe she should had thought about herself.  Not getting pregnant; using birth control, USING A CONDOM.  I can't find sympathy with these teens.  I was a teen and my parents divorced; we (3 brothers) all acted out.  but NONE of us got pregnant or got someone pregnant.  Sorry, no sympathy for these CHILDREN.  And again, Sorry for her father.

Tyra's baby seems like she has something very wrong with her? Her aggressive behavior is just not normal.

Maybe inconsistant parenting styles?  She's being raised or "watched" by Tyra, her great-grandmother, her inept grandmother (who couldn't raise her own son, Alex), and the mostly absent Alex.  She's just angry and confused--probably jealous of any new babies.  Tyra has good skills and common sense--she just needs to get her priorities in order.

WORD!  Her parents are just nice, innocent parents...but completely ignorant.  They are probably impressed by the boy's family because they have more money, more "toys," and do outdoor activities together.  So far, Jason's parents have created a rude little dictator.  He's only going to get worse.  Is there no one to take him down a few pegs...MANY pegs?

A child that age normally knows to not grab someone's glasses like she did..that is something much younger child would do. She just attacked that baby too, and her mother said if she had another baby, it would be a dead baby with Lela around. She is always angry and screaming and stomping  and shouting too. Maybe being removed from her grandmother's house to live with a mother she hardly knew did something to the child?

My thoughts exactly.  Two year olds are royal pains in the butt.  They might know something is wrong but that doesn't mean they are going to do it.  Good thing we love them so or they would never live to see adulthood!

I was surprised by the original comment.  Even if one doesn't have "the charming experience" of raising 2yr-olds, SURELY the tried and true "Terrible Twos" is well known.   Thanks, SDVegas and Roxip.

Yeah, I have never been around a two-year-old who didn't grab at enticing objects. Tyra was actually setting useful boundaries ("Look at me!" and removing Layla from the room). Grandma and great-grandma, not so much. GG was snuggling (in other words, rewarding) Layla when she was crying about mom's boundaries. I don't know where Tyra learned about parenting a toddler, but she learned it.

Yep. Removing a child, saying "no" firmly to the behavior and explaining why "that's not yours" "that's not safe" are the best way to handle toddler situations. No anger needed. That being said, since she has relied on great grandma for child-care, Tyra needs to see that this huge inconsistency in discipline technique/philosophy may be a concern.

  • Love 5

Tyra has so many problems right now that I doubt that she will be giving up on the convenience of Grandma and Great-Grandma being babysitters anytime soon - and I say that with a serious I don't blame you.  Baby Daddy has flown the coop - at least temporarily - and since he is getting some from both Tyra and the new girl in Texas he's sitting pretty sweet (in other words, still the same spoiled entitled brat that he has always been (and for that the balls in grandma and great-grand's lap - they created this manchild just like Tyra's mom created daughters who think so little of themselves that they are 5th generation teen moms)).  She is about to be inundated with pregnant sisters and cousins, and she is still trying to go to school.  Is she going to have to move out of her current residence she shares with Alex for financial reasons?  Girl's got problems.  Most of them of her own making but at least she's trying which is more than you can say for a lot of these young moms.

Nor should she. I agree with you. At the end of the day, GG loves Layla. It's a shame she's spoiling her, but sober, stably-housed, loving family child care is a godsend even for a middle-aged, middle-class, married mom. For a low-income single teen mom like Tyra, it could easily be the difference between Tyra getting or not getting a college degree.

I really want to see the producers give Jason one of those labor vests to see how he deals with pain or someone to kick him really hard only because I’ve heard from men that can cause abdominal pain.

Did anyone else notice tonight that the words being spoken didn't match the lips moving, like a badly dubbed movie?

This might sound bad (but hey, it's a snark page), but I have to wonder what these girls saw in their baby daddies to have sex with them.  Palm
Tree Head comes to mind.  Not only is he not attractive, and would not have been to my teenage self, but he's dumb as a rock and has the personality to match.   Her father is right; he's making all the decisions and his equally dim girlfriend is afraid to stand up to him.   Not good.

I don't understand Tiarra (sp?)'s back and forth to Kentucky for OB appointments?  One, she can apply for a new social security card in Maryland, last I checked.  Or better yet, marry her fiance' so she and the kids are on his insurance.  I presume she's going to deliver in MD, therefore why not get a doctor there?  Where are they coming up with that kind of money for back and forth flights?  How about this:  Your daughter is getting old enough to start learning to behave.  It's called discipline, and it is a blessing to those of us who have to fly with you and your angel.

I don't understand any of this.  In addition to the fact that applying for a replacement social security card would have solved this problem,  how on earth could it not be cheaper to go to a local planned parenthood as an uninsured patient for a routine pregnancy visit as opposed to flying your pregnant self, your sister roundtrip, and flying with a two year old?  The huge bill will be for delivery, but flying back and forth to see the doctor for routine doctor bills isn't going to avoid the delivery bill.

And boy did I feel badly for the birthing center employee when Palm Tree head mentioned circumcision and she asked who the pediatrician would be, and the brain dead mom thought she was asking about her own pediatrician.  I guess the only good thing about this mess is they don't have to find a new pediatrician, they can just use mom's, and in 13 years hopefully the pediatrician will beg them to give the child birth control.

We can only assume Tiarra's baby daddy is correct and she is secretly enjoying going back home to visit her family.  Hope they can resolve this (especially since they found the card) before they start weekly appointments.
