Seems kinda "equal", as yes, she's the "help", but she's also a person, with opinions, and I really loved that she feels secure enough to express them <3, to the opposite of Rosario (EDIT It's Rocio ! I haven't seen enough of Crystal yet to really know if I like her or not but until she starts making racist comments about her castmates, reveals secrets about how a castmate's children were conceived and/or try to turn one sibling against another, I am going to say that comparisons to Brandi Glanville are unwarranted.

So far, not a fan. I don’t enjoy her smug attitude. I mean, for sure she’s not heinous like Rinna or Brandi. And she’s not an (alleged) accomplice to pilfering and bilking, like Erika. But still, she’s off putting.

Her daughter was cranky while Crystal was with her kickboxing trainer. She was probably very tired. The daughter’s behavior was surprising, as Crystal told us that she’s a Tiger mom. I’ve seen it before, but it’s unusual. 
However, I thought Crystal’s response was very cold. She instructed the nanny/babysitter to “take her.”

I like Crystal. My armchair psychology interpretation is that she's just a big bowl of anxiety who strives for perfection due to insecurities.  I think participating in the show could be good for her.

I'm still trying to decide whether or not I like her. She hasn't displayed any sort of super horrible behavior, like so many of the others sadly have. I wish we got more warmth, but maybe she'll show more once she's found her footing in this crazy group, where she's both newest and youngest. 

I don't mind her snark because I think you need a bit of it to be on the show. Or to enjoy it. 😉

I've wondered these very same things.  Something ain't clean in the buttermilk, but it's okay because as with everything concerning Crystal, their age gap and marriage is the exception.  (But of course it is, dahling.) Perhaps it's true, since anyone can see who wears the ugly leather pants in the family, and Rob appears to know his place.  Poor slob.

I'll bring it here too since it was in the ep thread. Crystal has said that she was 20 when she met her husband.  

That "article" wasn't an article.  It appears to be a content farm whose goal is mostly clicks/ad sales than it is about sharing factual information. (Like they do their best guess but that's kind of where it ends.) Other profiles have her age at 38.

^ Thanks for clearing Crystal's age up guys. She was very young, but at least she wasn't a minor when they met.

I don't like the idea of an age gap that large. I always question men who don't get with women closer to their own age. But her husband seems nice so far, and he doesn't look as old as he is. When I look at them, they don't look like a father, daughter age gap. I would guess their age gap to be more like LVP and Ken.

I actually quite like Crystal's husband so far. Until I have reason not to. Age gap isn't a big deal for me because in their case it doesn't seem like it's wide. 

I still think there's hope Crystal can redeem herself from the smug bi**h she has shown thus far. Fingers crossed.  She might have been over compensating for the show.

Sutton is similar this way but not as bad.

Crystal's grown on me. She's actually one of the few I'm enjoying lately. The only others are Garcelle and Sutton, also Kathy if she counts. The rest all seem to be sharing one brain.

A lot of us thought Tom was suspiciously wealthy for a lawyer but figured he must just be best lawyer in the world or something. I've learned if we're suspicious, there's probably more to their wealth than first meets the eye. As long as the money is made honestly, like not stealing from widows and orphans, good for Crystal and her husband.

I love a good expose but I don't think the lifestyle depicted on the show is outside that of a relatively successful Hollywood director/producer. 

They obviously are living the good life but except for that very expensive Hermes handbag there doesn't seem to be any really over the top lavish displays beyond those of a moderately "rich" person. Kyle lives a much more lavish lifestyle as those private cruises in Europe aren't cheap :-). 

Crystal dresses well and obviously expensively but nothing like the kind of stuff that Sutton has. Dorit has an expensive wardrobe but I am not convinced that they are not lent to her by the brands since they are almost all completely branded and I can't imagine even she would be idiotic enough to actually pay for that crap. 

I don't know why Jeffrey Kung (her brother) would have more money than her husband and would be subsidizing her lifestyle. He was a Chinese pop star and I am sure that was reasonably lucrative but he wasn't an international superstar.

Yeah, I concur with you. In fact, that ‘blind item’ sounds like sour grapes towards a successful Asian American, which is par for the course right now, sadly. Rob Minkoff is a very wealthy man with his success, and each success comes with huge back options on all sorts of things so he’s still likely making a ton of money just off Lion King alone. Their lifestyle looks like normal successful A-lister Hollywood. In fact I’d say they seem pretty down to earth given how some bigwigs live in Hollywood. As for Crystal, she seems like a very smart woman. She and her brother and friend co-own a an organic coconut milk and coco cream any that sustainably harvest coconuts in Indonesia, Vietnam, and I think in Africa as well. So that’s her own income stream in addition to Her husband’s. So this story about a brother pop star in China funding her lifestyle? I’m calling bullshit, and anti-Asian spewage.

You all have good points about Crystal and her husband. I agree that Crystal lives the life of someone well off but not absurdly rich like some of the others. It's true her husband could have made loads of money as a producer, and I must have forgotten she and her brother run a business. 

After so many of these women and/or their husbands being shady, I've become suspicious of everybody. I've kind of always been suspicious of anyone who has extreme wealth. 

My mind didn't go to this being anti-Asian because the blind item actually suggests Crystal's Asian brother is more successful than her white husband. I do remember her mentioning her brother is a big star in China. If Crystal is very successful on her own along with her brother, that's awesome and she should get credit. I just don't remember it being advertised much. Maybe it was in the first episode???

That said, I see nothing wrong with rich generous family members. lol It's only a problem when people start to expect stuff to be handed to them, and money creates division within the family.

I meant anti AAPI because people have to find a way to tear her down and diminish or dismiss her actual accomplishments. I don't think she toots her own horn much so no, she probably doesn't hawk her coco products on the show because she has more class than people like Rinna. If you look at her IG grid you learn more about her, and unlike Erika, it's positive learning not turn you off learning...

I don't currently have an IG, but I just checked Crystal's page, and she really seems like a regular chick you can be friends with. No mocking the stealing from widows and orphans, dancing in her underwear, or flipping the bird. I see posts about her company and pictures of her and her family. Her children are beautiful.

Maybe Crystal is an example of money talking, wealth whispering...she just doesn't feel the need to flaunt her wealth beyond a few examples here and there, kind of like Kathy, who people seem to cheer for being so down to earth with her displays of her wealth.
