I haven't tried making it in a crockpot but it definitely does freeze beautifully.  Chili is another soup that is nearly as good frozen and thawed as it was fresh.   

I am going to be moving to Boston next Tuesday so I am trying to clean out my fridge and freezer, though, so this soup is made out of previously frozen beef and will be eaten once made (should be only four servings anyway).   I will tell you that moving during a pandemic is far worse than moving in normal conditions (it is my fifth move in 12 years and third interstate one).
