It was a PBS episode of Nova season 47, episode 6 called "The Truth About Fat." I think you can stream it on YouTube TV, and your local PBS station might show it again this week. They usually show the same episode several times within a month. It didn't really go into the long-term consequences or follow-ups, but it really made me see these folks differently, as I already said. Of course, not every overweight person is leptin resistant, but I think anyone who has struggled with being overweight for a long time should look into it.

Nova season 47....that is a real nod to quality tv. 47 seasons and still relevant!

Oh no!    Leneatha needs to take her daughter to a specialist in Houston for another opinion.  I'm a great advocate of second opinions, especially since they have world class hospitals in Houston.

Oh here we go. I certainly hope, when she dies young from complications of diabetes or a stroke or heart attack, exacerbated by her extreme overweight, that her daughter doesn't ever see this show. "I have to take care of my daughter so I have to put my own life at risk". That certainly won't screw her up or anything.
