Is that it? No more episodes this season?

That was it for the season.  A lot of unresolved issues were left hanging, such as the eventual resolution of Kody and Meri's counselling.  Just when it was starting to get real.  Apparently there is to be no wrap-up with the end of season tell-all (tell-some things), I don't see why that couldn't have been handled by Skype or other technology.

  • Love 8

Next season will be mention of the Coronavirus, probably how it created some sort of financial burden or impeded their progress with Little House on the Prairie Dog Plague, a therapy session, Meri’s Walls, everybody’s fillings, some child’s educational milestone and how Kody is the reason the child succeeded despite everyone hating polygamists.

Please, oh please will the gods/goddesses of "reality" T.V. set it up for Kootie to want yet another brood mare, er, I mean wife?!? That or a massive bankruptcy for the queen of Darkness will be the only way I'll watch next season.  With a few exceptions this family is a trainwreck, and it's becoming sad to see its implosion.

This show gets more Kootie & Robyn every season (in other words, more phony and boring.)  I still enjoy the snark, but that's all I'm going to miss when TLC gives them the heave-ho.

I so would enjoy a fifth wife storyline, just to watch Queenie's head explode.  Narcissist Kootie probably gobbles Viagra like candy.  He's so whipped.

Yeah..... I doubt that last bit.  If he got a new WIFE he would be gobbling it - but he probably only has sex with Robyn anymore... and she seems like the type to allow it on his birthday and their anniversary - only.

I think that marriage counseling session was for the show. They said they go to counseling once every 18 months. That's not working on the marriage. I think Kody and Meri have no relationship. I think they film together because they mutually agree they want the money that the show provides. Otherwise, I don't think they even speak to each other. Kody admitted he doesn't stay at Meri's house any more. And Meri's entire Instagram is her and friends, her and Robyn's youngest kids, and her weird selfies.

They could create another season out of quarantine drama (if they can find some), and if they finally start building on Coyote Pass. Otherwise, I don't know what else would be left.

Who knows if the show will be renewed. Kody seems to think so. Anyway, this is the place for us to talk about it, for the next year and a half or so.

Someone on Twitter asked him what he was doing during quarantine and he answered “watch next season”.  He is narcissistic enough to be self-recording.  For his usual salary and perhaps the camera and sound guys pay as well!

What an ego.   What in the world is so exciting about watching ANYONE quarantine?  It's a freaking snoozefest and EVERYONE who isn't an essential worker is doing it.  Everyone.  There's nothing special about watching whatever it is Kody is doing to keep himself at home and busy.

Anyone want to watch a show about an ex-sister wife playing computer games, writing message board posts, cleaning house and eating frightening amounts of junk food? Maybe kissing a cat's head here and there?   If so - I could use the $$$$$!!

They aren't strictly quarantining.  As we've seen on Instagram, Meri and Mariah have been back and forth to the B&B in Parawon.  Christine mentioned last week during a facebook live that she and Kody were going on a LONG drive together (just a drive to get out and talk it seemed).  We know they went to In and Out for Truely's birthday too.

True.  But not exactly something I find thrilling to watch next season.

I'm with you!  I don't play computer games, but I do crosswords and other pencil puzzles, and everything else you do.  I'm not an ex-sister wife, but I do kiss Lucy's head now and then.

Oh yeah, Kootie, we're just dying to watch you on Robyn's sofa watching yourself on TV.  So interested in watching SOMEONE potty-training Areola and SOMEONE homeschooling your heir to the throne, King Sol.  I doubt your favorite wife is doing either one.  There must be a sister-mom or someone sheltering with y'all doing those pesky chores.

Endless ego, that Kootie.

I wouldn’t be surprised if their quarantine activities included filling out bankruptcy paperwork once they run through all their equity loans. I can’t imagine what their monthly expenses are, and you know they’ve been holding on by their fingertips.  Major retailers are having trouble selling clothes right now, there’s no way the LLR income hasn’t gone down.  Plus Lizzies has to be losing money.

Looks like they are expecting to do another season. Christine is doing a lot of lives on her Lulano FB page. I just watched her do a walk/run outside, looked like near her house. She was looking at comments at some points and was asked about Ysabel's scoliosis. She said she couldn't say anything because she'd signed a non-disclosure agreement. Now I'm watching her do an exercise video from an earlier day. It's pretty funny because her form is so bad. Not that mine is so great but I don't broadcast it lol. At least she's trying, and I defintely give her props for that.

Modesty, however, is out the window. She is wearing skin tight Lulano leggingks and her t-shirt doesn't always cover her crotch and lower belly.

Oh yeah, remember in the early seasons, the wives wore long sleeved t-shirts with spaghetti strap shirts as toppers?  Those days are long gone.

So they will get another season?  Must be slim-pickingks for TLC, after last season's bore-fest.  Poor Ysabel, having to be exploited again, if that's the plan.  Will Kootie try to force Snowflake's weddingk sooner rather than later?  Are any of the adult sons willing to have any upcoming weddings or engagements exploited for another storyline?

A fifth wife would be ratings gold, but Robyn ain't gonna allow that, we know.  Too bad.

Well you know that the Princess will demand a huge blowout with every single woke womxn friend she's ever made in Chicago and that won't happen overnight.  And there hasn't been a word about a wedding at all and you know she posts every single thought that pops up in her narcissistic little brain so I think a wedding is a long way off.

Personally, as far as another season, I think they got nuthin'.  If they think another season of real estate woes is going to fly.....well, I guess there are some who will watch them no matter how boring they are.  Just not me.

I HONESTLY TRULY SINCERELY cannot comprehend how the Browns cannot realistically look at this season and think the same thing.  And what do the producers think?  We all know that the ratings are decent, but I cleaned my kitchen during the show and just listened - and would walk in and out of the living room now and then to take a peek, see if Robyn was sobbin' yet - ONLY to snark on here with you folks.

It was B.O.R.I.N.G.!!!!!

  • Love 12

The fact that Sister Wives got decent ratings this season is a sad testament to the fact that there aren't many, if any, compelling programs on television these days.  I record the episodes and save them to watch when I've exhausted just about everything else - including what's on Netflix and Hulu that interests me.  Like others, I did watch some of the season, but often it was just noise in the background while I did a monotonous task.

I must admit, I also keep up with most of the episodes so I understand the good snark here on the forum.  Even so, I skipped a few because of what I read here.

In a twist of irony, had Meri's catfishing scandal not happened I doubt we'd be watching this show anymore.  I wonder how that plays within the family - they desperately need those TLC checks to keep rolling in, and I think that the indiscretions of the least-favored wife is what kept the show on the air.  That's what I find interesting about the way Kody treats Meri - it's like he pushes her far enough away to the point where he gets a twinge of nerves that she might bail, then draws her back in with some stupid surface gesture like going to therapy.  He does just enough to keep Meri wondering and wishing, is how I see it.  Her drama has monopolized this show for the past several seasons, only to be replaced with the mesmerizing storyline of Robyn and the Heavenly Rental, which doesn't hold a candle to BananaGate.

I so agree with this.  Were it not for Meri's penchant for bananas and bubble baths the show would have been long gone by now.

In reality, there was the initial curiosity that motivated viewers to watch as the concept of polygamy and how it functioned was unique.  When viewers realized that we would not be presented anything beyond fluff and lightness, interest waned.  We all have kids in our lives in one form or another and they too get married and procreate.  They manufactured drama in the form of a Commitment Ceremony and burying a time capsule but it seemed obvious that if they were not staging a show, they would probably not engage in these types of activities.

Besides Kody accompanying Meri to the therapist, there was the episode where Kody and Meri investigated the alternative Cottonwood property, just the two of them.  Tension mounted when Kody casually draped his arm over Meri's shoulder as they toured the property and the question on everyone's mind was ...will they,... or won't they?  If Meri had hopes of a grand reconciliation on that trip, they were abruptly dashed when Kody (on camera) asked her which of the twin beds she wanted to sleep in.

I don't think Meri is a masochist, reveling in humiliation, and I don't buy into the idea that if she left, she would be shunned by the family.  They don't seem to be hidebound in their belief system and IF Meri had a good relationship with any one of them, that could continue.

I think Meri is mercenary enough to realize that besides the income flow from the show, her success with LLR and the BnB hinges on the exposure the show brings her.

With the Meri drama, it was underwhelming and is becoming a little stale at this point. I just don't know where they can go from here. Just about everything they presented was.........boring. They've pretty much chewed all the meat off this bone of a show. There's nothing left--even if Meri leaves, it would still be boring (saw that coming).

Edited: They keep crying wolf with Meri, whether she's staying/leaving/working it through with Kody. I'm so over that.

Is Ysabel's surgery the only known plot point on the horizon?  (And that was already last summer/fall, right?)  We know SludgePudge aren't married yet and no ground has been broken at Plague Pass.  Nobody is pregnant and none of the wives have split.  Zzzzz...

Thank heavens.  Baby after baby after baby being born - people could watch reruns of TLC's "Baby Story" - reruns because even TLC knew that the diaper was too ripe and needed tossed... people had seen their fill.  Isn't that all the "Counting On" episodes are for the most part - courting, marriages and babies?  I LOVE babies....  but season after season of something that happens to almost every couple on earth who desires children is a yawn after awhile.

Is there any evidence that she had any surgery?  There was one undated picture of her in a wheelchair a while back but for all we know that was the grifters way of getting to the head of the lines.  There hasn't been anything on SM has there?

These people couldn't keep a secret to save their own lives so I can't believe it wouldn't be splashed all over the place including a feature story in People.

Sad to say, I think the only potential storyline going forward would be Evie K.  I guess they kind of left the show on a cliffhanger with Evie being taken away by ambulance, even though we all know that she's fine (other than her limb difference).  If they use the plight of a tiny baby to get this show on the air for another season, that might actually be my jumping off point.

Although it might be fun to see how Robyn does when she's no longer in the spotlight.

But they never show the nitty gritty or the truth so we really wouldn't see Robyn tip off of the edge.  Even when they TRY to show strife,  (HAAAA!!  I made a pun!) it's rehearsed and acted - and we all know it.

I love babies too, but I have zero interest in babies from the Brown family (or the Duggar's).  As a side story to something interesting, sure, but not as the main attraction.  I admit I watched in horrid fascination the first time Maddie screamed in a filthy bathtub, but that was plenty and I skipped those scenes the second time around.

The only interesting aspect of the program these days is how the dysfunction of polygamy stands out even in a mundane season like this past one.    My idea for the next season is to show a truthful story line of the Browns madly scrambling for cash to keep up with the payments on their houses and land, with Kody making presentations to the group on the tents they will be moving into when the sheriff serves foreclosure papers.

Oops, you could be totally right, @Kohola3. I don't know where my brain got surgery, unless it was implied by Christine's recent post that she couldn't talk about Ysabel's condition due to a NDA. (WTF?)

So now we've got zero plot points...unless a socially distancing cameraman tagged along to record the demise of Janelle's McNugget.

Thinking about the tv landscape post pandemic....

My husband keeps saying there will be a artistic creative burst. He cites all the musicians who would normally be on the road are now at home writing new material. Stands to reason tv writers are also coming up with exciting and fresh ideas.

Second, if we are generally at home more, then we will be looking for more entertaining entertainment. After a long, taxing day of work, kid activities, going out to dinner, sure, I’ll watch some mind-numbing Sister Wives. But after a long, taxing day of hopefully going to work and then staying home, staring at the same four walls, mind-numbing isn’t going to cut it. We will want riveting television.

Of course, Sister Wives is at least another year away from airing, but I think whatever draw they did have will be gone by then.

Watched a YouTube video on some Brown gossip. Apparently Christine let it slip out on a FB live Q&A that she has signed a non disclosure agreement with TLC about her daughter’s scoliosis journey. So yes, there will be another season and Isabelle’s scoliosis will be a featured storyline....

Pure speculation.  It's amazing how people take a teeny tiny tidbit of gossip and turn it into a full blown fact.

I call BS on that making any difference.  All of the kids have SM accounts and those who have moved out wouldn't be on the payroll so are free to post what they want.  Most of the family has online verbal diarrhea so I can't believe for a hot minute that if there had been surgery, we'd have known all about it in a heartbeat.
