Anyone here a viewer of recent Top Chef?  I know I recognize names on several show forums, and I think there are a lot from here over on the TC boards.  

Anyone else listen to Nini and hear Stephanie's exact voice?  And I love Nini, she seems like a lot of fun, she doesn't take herself too seriously, and she makes interesting food.  But her voice is 100% Stephanie and I cannot un-hear it.

Every event was a new & fun adventure with remarkable possibilities, but of course Stephaniedowner always made it regrettably sad & depressing, plopping in her "illness" convo regularly for ?sympathy, idk. How absolutely boring, like an old person who only has their ailments to talk about. (I'm old, no shade intended.) 

Of course she warned us early  on that her world was confined to her house, unlike Erica who actually put herself out there, had friends and a life. So maybe her illness is all there is to her.

Honestly she had zero sex appeal in that scene. She walks like a trucker in heels and the grandma cardigan did not help. Why even wear heels if you don't know how to walk in them and don't have an outfit to match? She would've looked way better in some sneakers and jeans.

She is fine now, but if you're not active, in your 30s the wheels start to come off the bus.  Right now she is really just curvy and she is keeping her midsection under control.  Her true test will be around 35.  

She will need to get married by that time and pop out a kid or two.  A girl I kinda know was like this. She was late 20s, early 30s.  No education, no career, black hole of attention seeking neediness, vacuous, nothing really interesting to talk about....but kinda, maybe pretty and just holding to together in terms of her body.  

She was desperate to get married and did so as soon as possible.  She got pregnant as soon as possible and immediately dropped the boom on her husband.  She has completely stopped trying and he is stuck.  

Her husband comes from money and has a good job, so she is set and she is free to completely let herself go.  She is happy as a clam.

I've been on hold for about 40 minutes, so have been googling stuff to help fill the time.

"Aplastic anemia" can vary from mild to potentially fatal.  Given Stephanie's age when she was diagnosed, I suspect she may have gotten it from something like mono.  In that event, she could have been treated and cured of the AA . . . but she or TLC is playing it up as part of the storyline.

When she didn't wear a mask on the flight to Australia, it crossed my mind that she doesn't HAVE an actual disease that could make it dangerous to be locked into a tube with 300 other people, all breathing the same recirculated air.

I don't have anything other than a tendency to pick up respiratory ailments, so I always wear a mask when I fly.  If I had a serious, life-threatening level of AA, I'd never get on a plane.
