I might be gullible, but I believe that they were actually in love. But Chantel is not very emotionally mature, and that coupled with a very intrusive family (particularly mama Karen) on both sides probably only compounds the issue. Pedro’s also no saint. Love and marriage only last if both people are willing to grow and work together.

Every time she’s talking on camera, I keep flashing back to that episode of Designing Women where Julia told the rich guy’s obnoxious mistress, “I find you rude, lazy, horny, and dumb”.

I used to watch the Golden Girls while I did work for my college classes lol. I’ve seen every episode at least 100x, so it didn’t require much attention on my part. Also, Maddie’s spelling makes me cringe. But good for her posting something non-negative I guess.

Meri’s phony ‘boss lady’ crap is so full of it. As she says in that clip, she and Christine have different ‘values’. Damn right they do, Christine clearly values herself and Meri does not.

I honestly think that Kody has some buried resentment at Meri for the way she treated Janelle when she joined their family. He was mad at Meri for essentially attempting to drive Janelle off (and partly succeeding for a period of time). He has made comments in recent seasons about Meri getting what she wants, not considering others’ feelings, etc. I think that Robyn didn’t completely kill their relationship on her arrival into the family but it definitely helped push it faster and further in that direction. The whole catfish thing was the final blow that damaged his ego, and I feel like that’s what is truly unforgivable to him. It does not surprise me though that he cut her off even before their relationship was officially done though. Sex seems to be his way of rewarding his wives for acceptable behavior. (Personally, I’d rather have a cookie, lol.) Also, once Sobbyn sees cracks in the relationships with the other wives, I’m betting she encourages the Kodester to punish them by withholding intimacy. That way she keeps her hands clean in his eyes, because she’s only exploiting their problems but not outright creating them, and he’s too stupid to pick up on it.

I always thought had they named the business My Best Friend’s Closet, or something similar and just sold cutesy, semi trendy stuff, they might have had a chance. They put too much of themselves into the business and it was too personal to be relatable to the average consumer. Add into it that everything was overpriced and most of it tacky, it’s no surprise that it was a spectacular failure.
