What Pearson80 said; plus, Joy added, she married two of them.

Her double standards drive me crazy. Joy is a comedian, and a lot of her sex jokes crack me up. They’re never even that vulgar. Meghan just doesn’t appreciate it since Joy isn’t conservative or cool enough for her. She considers Erika Jayne a goddess. For those of you who don’t know, Erika is a Real Housewife who loves cursing, the c word in particular, and says she sells boobs and ass.

Add Real Housewives to The Bachelor and The Masked Singer and we get a glimpse into Mags' viewing habits.......<Huge Shudder>

Joy cited a report that said the majority of Americans (>70%) want to see evidence presented at an impeachment trial.  Meh-gun said No, only 56% believe that Trump should be turfed (presumably they don't even need evidence), closer to 50%, snootily implying that Joy was wrong.  Not the same statistic, toots, it depends on the question asked.

Semi-serious question: What, exactly, does Meghan mean when she talks about "the politics" of impeachment? It's not the ethics,  as she said to Sunny last(?) week. Today,  it's not the public support/popularity. What is it, then? How will impeachment hurt Democrats (politically) when their base is in favor of it and most centrist Republicans are not going to vote Democrat no matter what - case in point, Meghan herself?

This covers MeAgain  doing her political analysis on today's show 🤣

https://www.rawstory.com/2020/01/the-views-meghan-mccain-instantly-contradicts-herself-on-impeachments-popularity/

This article nicely lays out how hypocritical MeAgain is vis a vis the NYT!

https://www.thedailybeast.com/meghan-mccain-rages-against-new-york-times-calls-it-a-garbage-publication

Reading long quotes from Meghan makes her sound even more idiotic.

Loved this quote, from last September, according to the article.  I wish it had mentioned what that controversy was back then, just for context -

Quote

During a broadcast last September, meanwhile, McCain stood up for the Times, noting that she specifically chose the paper to publish her essay because "it's still a great publication" while rejecting broad denunciations of the Times from critics.

"I am not going to be one of these people who says 'I hate The New York Times, it's all bad,' because I don't believe that," she proclaimed. "I don't like that!"

Yes, and when she said that she is not going to one of those people, it seemed very pointed.  Who else keeps saying they hate the NYT?  But now that one opinion columnist trashed her, the paper is garbage, according to her.  That means that NYT assessment that The View is the political show to watch is also garbage. 🤣

I think the controversy was some Brett Kavanaugh story, a summary of a book about him or something.

Is feeling I really have to tiptoe around the topic of impeachment. It's covered on the show a bit.

If someone discusses it on the show, it's okay?

It's all part of Meghan's narcissism.  If the NYT says something she likes they are awesome. But if they say something against Meghan they are garbage. Don't believe a word they say. They are liars.  Everything and I do mean everything is about Meghan.

I'm not one for fashion nor am I someone who talks about their clothing, but what on earth is that jean jacket Whoopi is wearing? I feel like it would look better if it was open, because it being closed like that doesn't do anyone any favours.

The main backlash towards Hillary wasn't for the "nobody likes him" comment, it was when she didn't commit to voting for Bernie if he was against Trump. That's why people were angry towards Hillary....did the 4am guy forget to mention this?

Whoopi said that she'll support Bernie, but she didn't say that. That's the controversy.

You know it's bad when we are all "what the hell is she wearing."

Sunny saying she's pro life, but believes in freedom of thought which is in the constitution, the camera person went to Meghan who had an annoyed look on her face. It was shady, but funny.

I feel like the show is missing something without Abby. Not that she brought much, but the show's flow and dynamic doesn't seem to be working with just the four of them there. It feels off, somehow.

Sunny did a good job with McCain’s identity politics spiel, too. It does say more about her than it does about other people. So does McCain not consider it "identity politics" when only white men are chosen to fill all the positions? Or is it only identity politics when women, people of color, and LGBT enter the equation?

Also, I forgot to say: f*** you, McCain. Hillary won the primary because of "her politics," not because she was a woman. She won over Bernie because she was a moderate, which is the same reason Biden has lead for most of this year's primary.

I really got to like Val Demings while watching her during the House hearings in the fall.  She's very impressive.

LOL - Meghan thinking something was disrespectful.

Something Meghan should know as a senator's daughter (which I only know because Claire McCaskill mentioned it yesterday on MSNBC) - senators are only allowed water (flat or sparkling) or, of all things, milk, while they're sitting at their seats in the main chamber.  They can only have caffeine during breaks.

Whoopie - Fans?!  Old buildings hot - in January?

Meghan - "Stupid" and "juvenile" to say nobody likes you..  She really has no self-awareness, does she?  Then, just a few minutes later, she says, twice, that she "can't stand Bernie"!!!!!

I do find it odd that everyone except Meghan didn't get that Hillary saying something unsupportive of the potential nominee isn't helpful at this point in time.  Heck, Hillary even realized it, belatedly; that's why she put out the new tweet.

Isn't Meghan all "women, women, women" all the time?  How is this a hit on Bernie?  He hasn't said how he'll configure his cabinet.  Three months ago Mayor Pete said half of his cabinet would be made up of women, by the way.

(The look on Whoopie's face when Meghan was talking about how the women Warren would appoint to her cabinet wouldn't be representing her was exactly the look I had.)

What mistake of Hillary's that pertains to this discussion does Meghan keep referring to?  I honestly have no idea.

I don't want to go off topic but if people voted for someone simply because they are a woman Meghan would have been First Daughter.

It's Meghan's narcissism again.  She thinks anyone and everyone should be what she wants. Do they people in Trump's cabinet represent Meghan?

I agree with Sunny. Who you are influences who you vote for. But I also agree with Whoopi. When someone says you only voted for someone because they look like you it is insulting.  You are more likely to be receptive to someone who speaks to who you are but that doesn't mean you blindly vote for them.

So Meghan hates the NYT but ran there with her miscarriage story.

What did I miss?

Im not a big Abby fan, found her annoying many times lol.  However it does seem a lil off.  Abby, and Sara before her, provided the lightness, the silliness, goofiness etc thats been badly needed between heavy stuff.

When MM addressed Val Demings, it sounded like she pronounced her own name as "Me-again" 😉

To me, it sounded like she said "Me-gun"!  😂

So it appears that MM now has nothing to say about sports, add that to children, pregnancy, sex, religion...I guess the only topic she discusses is politics (and she’s not very good at that either)?  She must be the most boring person on earth as a friend, party guest, etc.

And, she wonders why no one likes her!!  I mean, if you can't discuss ANYTHING else besides politics (or, and maybe, grief and the Real Housewives), who IS going to like you?

Yup.

The whole discussion pissed me off.  Of course Warren can commit to making half of her cabinet women.  It is ludicrous to suggest that there are  not enough qualified women out there, which is what the implication is, when they say she cannot live up to that commitment.

Prime Minister Trudeau made the same commitment and did it.

I did like Sunny throwing shade at Me-Again when she said it says more about the other person who is accusing you of identity politics.  Whoopi managed to throw some shade as well saying that identity politics implies that if you are black and vote for a black president, then you are stupid.  Me-Again did not even try to defend herself there.

Whoopi was really excited to be invited to Star Trek Picard, season 2.  But as usual, Me-Again just couldn't leave it alone and kept gushing and marvelling over how emotional she was.

I am excited too!

Meghan has said before that she views politics as a game of winning or losing, and so to voluntarily choose to do something that you can't get "done" (i.e., impeachment and removal) means that the democrats "lose" and republicans "win." That's my guess as to why she thinks the way that she does.

What I found interesting today was how quiet Nutmeg was when the ladies were discussing how Black voters might be Democratic in large numbers but they are not necessarily liberals. That type of nuance went over Messy's head.

Did you guys notice how Sunny and Joy butted heads over Sunny calling herself pro-life when she is in fact pro-choice. Sunny bristled at Joy's assertions and they agreed to disagree without being disagreeable, Nutmeg was silent throughout their exchange as well.
