Kody's newly dubbed "Prime Directive" is a key example of his lunacy.  The more I watch this show the more I see Kody's role in the family is so much like one of those clueless middle managers.  They don't know how to manage people, they don't know how the work is actually done, but they have to justify their jobs somehow.  So he (or she!) comes out of his office and announces "I want to see 10% growth this quarter!" and then all the employees turn, shocked, and say "okay boss, how do we do that? what are your ideas?" And he just shrugs his shoulders and disappears back into his office because all he needs to do it point and THEY are supposed to make it happen.

Kody comes up with "where we go one, we go all"...okayyy, but with so many people and different needs for each wife it just isn't logical. He actually was a royal nob when he dumped it on Meri the fact that she was leaving and telling HER that SHE was not following the "prime directive" by doing so.  But that is what he does...he makes the big announcement and then dumps it on the wives to make it work.  HEY, don't complain! I'm the leader of this family...hop to it!! Another example is at the "table meeting" where he states that "WE chose to move".  I am glad that Janelle kinda sorta called him out, but in true Kody fashion he gaslights it and side steps and says "hey don't dump this on ME.  WEE chose this!"  But yet again...it is up to the wives to make his decisions actually work!

I don't believe that the lease story was manufactured...and the reason is...way back when after they announced they were moving and then it popped up in public records that they bought land and then people found pretty quickly that three of the wives had houses and all that information popped up online pretty quickly.  However, it was months before any address etc was found for Meri.  This storyline actually lines up with the filming of her getting there and then leaving and not taking that house as a residence.  A couple of months later it popped up that she had that really big house with an elevator etc.  I'm assuming that is the house she mentions in the show that "isn't available right away".

I have watched this show from the beginning. Those 5 people sitting on the couch were stressed to the max.  If they really did that insanity of moving with 25 vehicles in one day just for some storyline for their show that is sheer madness. ""Hey kids, we are going to put you all through hell again so they can film us freaking out and breaking down, but hey...that's how we pay the bills!!"" 😐

They did not give specifics about why the police were called...because it was most likely a ton of vehicles blocking driveways and people everywhere and the camera crews etc.  If the real reason the police were called actually followed their storyline, then they would have a copy of the police report and waving it around on camera.  I'm sure everyone has experienced "that neighbor" in their lifetimes. Meri lost the lottery with a Mrs. Gladys Kravitz next door. Meri said that the fact that they had filming and were a poly family was up front in the lease, but obviously after Mrs. Kravitz next door called the owner of the house and gave her an earful...the owner wanted to back out.  Sure Meri could have fought it, she had the signed lease and it would have meant getting a lawyer and going to public court over it.  THAT means real facts hitting the internet instead of what the Browns want to spin on the show (including the whole secret storyline in the first place).  They want "ooohh they don't want YOUR family, they don't want polygamists..." when the facts are they don't want neighbors that bring a disruption to the quiet and peace of their little cul de sac with noisy children and camera crews.

After experiencing the neighbor I would take the back out option too. Why fight to stay in a house knowing that you will have the kind of person that will then complain about every little thing you do and potentially film your car one inch out of place.  Your grass one inch too tall. Your music one decibel too loud etc etc. And win. win. Meri got to go back to LV with peace and quiet to herself and the show got their storyline.

Would this group of clowns even have the funds to hire a lawyer and engage in a lawsuit?  I doubt it.  Unless they started getting credit cards in Truley's name.  They actually have plenty of minors whose social security #'s they could use.

*knew someone who did this to her daughter.  By the time the daughter was 18 she could not get credit anywhere.

We bought a house with all-tile floors. Put area rugs down and LOVE that. Something happens to the rug, it’s temporary and can be replaced versus the nightmare of ripping up and replacing carpet (done that too many times)

I've been stabbed in the toe by carpet tacks way too much. 😂I replace my rugs probably every 5 years. Hooray for Overstock dot Com!! Ruggables are great because they're machine washable and for some reason my cats love rolling on them.

I loved the Big Love episode when Bill had to go on Viagra to “service” all his wives... I doubt Kody would bother.

Bill probably had insurance.  He was a successful biz man!  Unless Viagra were free, lil Kody may just have to be sad and droopy.

I thought Kody and Robyn chose the move.  Even the kids knew it was a cluster fuck when it happened.

Bill was a SEX MACHINE.  And all his wives were pretty hot (I say this as a hetrosexual woman).

Kody, not so much.

Besides the 3 youngest kids (Truely, Solomon, and Ariella), the next youngest kids are already middle school, aren't they? Or am I missing someone? Assuming it will take a good two years before anyone is living on "The Land" at Coyote Pass, the "triplets" who are high school juniors will already be done with high school and moving out for college. How many people does that leave to live on the huge property in 4 separate houses in the middle of nowhere? During the episode, someone pointed out that Kody's dream of the kids coming back to live isn't going to happen. None of the kids seem to view Flagstaff as their final destination.

Did they move to Flagstaff because TLC told them they needed a new storyline or they would be cancelled? That's the only reason I can see besides utter stupidity that would make them make this ridiculous move.

Also very telling that Meri is in Vegas instead of in a spare bedroom in one of the rental houses.

I'm a grown lady and I say it for fun sometimes, because I hate "panties" and "underwear." Sometimes for kicks I borrow a phrase from the nice older ladies who asked me where the "foundations" were when I worked at JC Penney in the 90s. (Hint: they were not talking about makeup.) Sometimes I use "chones" or "calzones" or "pantalones" for fun but never "panties" because OMG it's such an awkward word.

My 100 year old grandmother used to call them "Undervats". LOL. Still makes me laugh. Of course, she also called them "unmentionables" back in the day.

Gabriel is already in college having compressed his junior and senior years into one including summer school while the two daughters are seniors right now.  Ysabel is 16 while Breanna and Savannah are 15 giving them about three years until they only have three children left at home. By that point Truely and Solomon will already be tweens.  If they start building tomorrow, it should be with the idea of Robyn having two kids and Christine having one.

So five bedrooms.

They could have just sold three of the Vegas homes and kept one.

I love how the "wives" assume that any of their neighbors' objections are rooted entirely opposition to plural marriage, and not in opposition to living next to a whole mess o' narcissistic, self-absorbed assholes, who come complete with a camera crew.

why didn’t she go stay in her B&B in Utah? Her mom is there and it’s less of a drive.

I wondered about this because my sense of distance is a little wonky. Flagstaff to Parowan is about 5 hours/300 miles and Flagstaff to Las Vegas is about 3.5 hours/250 miles.

Either way, the fact that they have multiple properties sitting empty, hemorrhaging money, and have acquired/are in the process of acquiring eight more, is utterly absurd. I understand that people are not all born financially literate, but it seems like a group delusion the way they bop around acting like they have money. This isn't about choosing the right mid-cap fund for a projected retirement date or amortizing a reverse mortgage using only your wits and an outdated version of Excel. It's simple: you have more tortillas than you have hunks of spoiled freezer meat to put in them. Somebody is not getting a taco. And Tony has already announced that he wants six tacos.

Those "big" checks they occasionally get from a TV production company cannot support an infinite number of idiots trying to pee on every hill and valley west of the Rockies.

I would have thought Gabe would want to go away for college but the reality may be he needed to live at home to afford it.  Given their style of living I'm guessing Gabe wouldn't qualify for financial aid based on low income.

I dunno, it doesn't seem like it costs all that much to live on campus especially since meals are included. If I was Janelle, I'd encourage Gabe to live on campus.

Their houses must be really far apart as I looked up the population of Flagstaff and it is only 140k so is it super spread out or do they actually live in other cities/towns close by. My city is 700k and 30/40 minutes will get you pretty close from one end to the other.

I cannot help it but I like Christine. If she weren’t married to Kody I probably wouldn’t bother with the show as the others are mostly unlikable.

None if them seem that happy with Kody, they all have looks like he should STFU in the couch scenes.

I am still surprised they have so much money to even get loans or approved for rental agreements. I love the white infinity, it must be cheaper in the US as in my province it starts at $78k. I don’t like the Brown family taste in much as their houses have been blah and builder grade but I do like that vehicle (my neighbour has one in grey).

Bang on with the Infinity price.  I think they start at $60,000 US, add 30% exchange and there you have it.

The exchange rate this year is killer!!!  Myself and many of my friends are now looking to escape winter in Mexico or the Caribbean where the Canadian dollar goes further.

I'm guessing that either the neighbors have seen the show and don't want to live next door to dramatic morons, or that the real complaint was about the production vans that would be parked on the street. Other shows have had complaints about that sort of thing from the neighbors.

I'm surprised that Robyn doesn't have a chauffeur driven limousine. 😋

Why did Mindy go back to Robyn?  She wasn't moving to Flagstaff last season.  She was going to stay in LV, and now here she is again, being Robyn's lackey.

I had read that Mindy operates a tanning salon in LV and had no intention of leaving.  I think that she just was there to help the family with the move and have a visit.  She really seemed to enjoy the kids and socialized with some of the older ones.  What I don't get, is if she was there to look after the little kids while the move was taking place, why she had to snap a leash on Ari.  If Robyn felt that Ari is on the move so much, she may have got too close to a moving truck, just take her inside and let her run free in the empty house.

Nothing they do is logcal, has much thought at all put into it, is often a complete waste of time, energy, money, and generally involves so much angst it just doesn't seem worth it in any regard.  I guess that's why they never get anywhere.  They're forever in turmoil and unrest.  I think it leads back to their choice of lifestyle and the dis-trust it breeds plus add in the instability/flighty-ness of Kody and it's a recipe for never moving ahead.

This all day long. Five grown ass people who can't make a logical decision between them. When this show first started I thought at least Janelle had a brain. Now they're all just fumbling around blindly following their cult leader. Those poor kids.

Yes, but...last season during the scenes of the chaos of the pack up and get out, Robyn was yelling at Aurora to feed Ari.  She said "get her to eat! Make it FUN for her!!" I don't know exactly how old Ari was at that moment of filming, but it's pretty sad if you have to do a dance and clown session to get a child who can use spoons and forks on their own to eat. They used a leash because...well...I can hear the helicopter outside the house right now!!

Or, they have a deal with car dealer and can drive the cars for free during filming.  The dealer gets free advertising of their car and the Browns get a new or newer vehicle to drive.  Some of the housewives have deals like that.

I think it is kind of expensive.  For a room to share and 21 meals M-F.  You could rent a two bedroom apartment and 4 people could split the cost and it would be cheaper.

Or better yet, just let Mindy watch them in Las Vegas, so you don't have to worry about them being in the way.

I finally watched Kicked Out last night.  They know darn good and well that the neighbors didn't call the cops because they were polygamists.  They called the cops because of the cameras and all the people there making noise on their quiet street.  Hopefully they don't have viewers that believe that is why Meri was asked to leave.

I believe they also had an issue at Meri's rental in Las Vegas.  They didn't want any filiming outside that might show neighbors or their vehicles plates.

Tuning back into this show for the first time in a couple of years, and it's nice to see that all of the adult Browns remain complete asshats.

Omg, Janelle though...  "I'm sorry, I'm one of those people who...thinks."

I take that statement from Janelle to translate to...""I stand here in reality, Kody and Robyn live in a dream world...""
