Culture Check: How can we discuss a character's or actor's appearance without objectifying them? How can we express likes or dislikes and still respect an individual's humanity or be mindful that a character represents a person someone else might relate to or identify with?

Maxie was there partly to bring Deception papers to Tracy. But I don't remember who initially offered the Q horses to James for riding lessons with Cody. 

I usually find James annoying but he gets 2 thumbs up for spilling about Drew and Willow. Intra-Q blackmail over ELQ is a  classic theme.

Twitter is on FIRE with this whole Jason and Anna nonsense, and the fans are not having it. Yes, it appeared to be calculated on Jason’s part because he heard someone coming and thought it was the best way to distract the guards. But  Anna just leaned right into it, like she’s been wanting to do that forever.

I'm totally TeamCarly on not wanting to get back with Sonny, but she's the idiot who agreed to give him an alibi. The least she could do is not pout her way through a dinner that's supposed to convince people they're a couple again. And of course, Carly leaving early and Sonny joining Noted Bigot Natalia isn't suspicious; no, not at all.

Again I ask, why isn't Alexis now paying Martin for his legal services? She is not bereft of funds.

The fight scenes weren't as poorly blocked as they usually are. Outside the compound is remarkably similar to the GH studios, heh.

Not that it's surprising, but Carly was astoundingly ungrateful at all Brennan was doing to get Lucky et al out of Somalia. 

I love how long it took someone on the plane to call anyone in Port Charles.

Oh, lord, Sidwell is going to show up in PC, isn't he? Sigh. I expect a showdown between him and Brennan somewhere along the line.

Same thought I had. As GH villains go, he's actually more boring than the Balkan (or "that Bald idiot," as Sonny once called him). Sidwell coming to Port Chuckles to reclaim his diamonds probably gets Mooby involved since Jasus will probably be a target.

Thanks, that didn't occur to me - My Yankees won their Division last night and get a "Bye" in the first round of the MLB Playoffs. Guess I'll catch some of those games (even though most of the Teams playing don't interest me) cause there's really no compelling original content on in the afternoons anymore.

By the time GH comes back, maybe our interest will pick up?  Asking for a friend.

Elizabeth needs to check herself as to why Lucky left all those years ago. And while he never got to officially adopt Cameron and Jake - they were both his children and legally Jake is Lucky’s. So stop with the “we only share a child” bullshit.

At least they’re headed back to Port Charles.

I could be mis-remembering because it's been ages, but wasn't it Siobhan McKenna's murder at the hands of Anthony Zacchara that triggered Lucky and sent him overseas?

Carly was a Karen before it became it became ~popular.  I especially loved her yelling at the poor soul who had the unfortunate luck of answering her phone call and having to tell her Brennan wasn't available.

Glad to know it because I'm appalled at Snark's post/review on Facebook in favor of them. But then, I often strongly disagree with this individual's perspective on the Show (in case you want to know examples in recent times: tends to say positive things about Carly, thinks JJ's return as Lucky is a bust/he should have been recast, expresses major enthusiasm for Jordan and Isaiah-especially him).

I want to know if Anna has the cojones to tell Robin to her face that she enthusiastically kissed Jason.

Honestly I can deal with this bit of Carly and Anna because it was them creating a situation to disarm the guards but what it becomes after?  I’m not here for that. 
 

and it seems wildly unpopular but Lucky and Elizabeth still sparkle to me. I want to see them interacting. I don’t care if they rekindle or they just spar over Aiden and their past I just want to see them together. 
 

But the most interesting thing between Jason and Lucky isn’t Elizabeth. It is Jake and I hate that he’s not a part of this.

Cam has not acknowledged Lucky as his father since he was around six years old - when a boy named Braden was in the role. Same for Elizabeth. After WL was cast as teenage Cam, he only ever said (to Trina) that his father was Zander and he died before he, Cam, was born. The Zander actor even returned for an episode, to have a "father-son" conversation at the grave. Then Joss also noted that Cam's father Zander, was dead. As far as we know, Jake doesn't remember/acknowledge Lucky as his father either. I remember Jason saying something about paying child support for Jake, which made me wonder if they legally changed Jake's birth father and I missed it.

Lucky first went to Ireland on an undercover assignment, where he met Siobhan. He took the assignment to get space from the pain of the dysfunction with Elizabeth and all the memories of drama with his dad (especially thinking Luke's drinking killed Jake). He brought Siobhan back with him when he had to return to Port Charles, and they decided to get married. When she was murdered, he went back to Ireland out of respect to her. He was also looking for closure and a sense of purpose. The "message" he got in the cemetery in Ireland was to go home because Aiden was sick. Once Aiden recovered, Lucky left Port Charles again just before Christmas 2011. He told little Cam that his "quest" wasn't finished yet and he needed to go back. The next time we saw Lucky was 2015, when Luke and Laura rescued him and he was telling Luke he was struggling with "darkness inside."

I'm pretty sure Jake would remember Lucky. I remember when he came back with the original kid in the role, and both Jonathan and Greg Vaughan had plenty of hours clocked with him as well as Cam.

Much like Jake and Drew, the Cam (and Jake) treatment re: Lucky has been reductive since Jonathan left. Zander was never a factor in his son's life but GH, like most modern soaps, leans on bio-parents for expediency's sake and sheer laziness. Not that I minded Chad Brannon appearing as a ghost (I would actually bring Zander back from the dead to cause drama for that family, c/o Witness Protection) but the Lucky/Cam relationship was real and substantive.

Jake spent time with Lucky until he was almost 4. Then Lucky brought him home to Elizabeth when he was 8. Now he's off to college in Barcelona, so who knows if he'll see or acknowledge Lucky since he's willingly missed about 14 years of Jake's life in Port Charles. Jake has referred to Jason as "my dad" a few times and also considered himself to be Franco's (ugh) son. 

I agree the Lucky/Cam relationship was real and substantive, for approx. the first 7 years of Cam's life. But Cam is now, what, 21 years old? He's away in college beginning his adult life. I don't expect him to care that Lucky is returning to Port Charles, except to hope the return will be good for Grandma Laura and Aiden. I recall that in 2015 Lucky said something like he's just a vague memory to Cam. 

I would be in agreement with Cam and/or Jake if one or both said Lucky has no right to claim either of them as his son.

I think that Robin would probably encourage Anna to go for it with Jason if that's what really makes her happy.  I don't see Robin being anything but supportive of them.

I have a feeling that actors are just like us -- they spend beyond their means. Especially with Monovie going belly-up long ago. That money's probably long-gone too.

If they really want to pair Robert and Diane, then she needs a big fat heaping dose of humility. Or even just personality. I’m all for a strong, self confident woman, but her smugness annoys me no end. There’s just nothing appealing about her and I refuse to believe Robert is the least bit attracted to her.

In an ideal world, Robert is only getting close to Diane so that he can uncover evidence to finally put Sonny and Jason away in jail.

I think Anna told Lucky that Laura and Kevin were looking for him at the refugee camp, which Lucky said was relatively safe. I'm not sure if they can be contacted. Laura will return when GF's summer break has ended.

Yeah I know GR is on vacation. I’m just musing that she’ll probably get back long after Lulu wakes up and is reunited with Dante and Rocco. Such stupid planning by Frank. 
 

and even if she can’t be reached, someone could leave a voicemail so she doesn’t keep looking.
