  1. Once Jovi talked about Yara previously lying about a pregnancy I understood why he initially didn't believe her and wanted a test. When he said that, she did not deny it, just denied how long it was before she told him she was "joking." I have a feeling she manipulates quite a bit; yet, here we are with someone who believes he is being lied to but moving forward in a relationship with that person. Also noticed that when Yara was taking the tests, her hand no longer had henna on it. Natalie acting all crushed and telling us that she can't take criticism is just rich coming from someone who constantly criticizes everything her "love" does, eats, thinks, etc. It was quite jarring when she not only hugged a tree but started skipping while they were out. I think she thought she needed to show us how fun and cute she is. Rebecca loves playing the "victim" hence allowing her family and friends to be rude to Zied after which SHE gets to have all of the attention instead of the person who was actually insulted (Zied). My motto which I have pretty faithfully followed: fast forward when Tarek and Hazel are on. The people I feel sorry for after this episode? The henna artist and the people sitting at the bar behind Brandon's parents when they started getting angry, weepy, loud, and manipulative.
  2. Today was the first time in months that I watched any of her show, and it was all about her, about how playing Wendy will make the actress famous, and about a guy who sent in a video to date Wendy. Waaaaay too Wendy focused. I do read the comments of you brave Wendy watchers, and I sincerely thank you for watching and summarizing for me!
  3. This season continues to be a disappointment for me. I get the pathos of firing George, but where was that pathos for the guy who had worked there for years and scored the winning spike in the company volleyball game? And, coming in with her hangover, I would expect Zoey to be the one to get fired. The timeline is a bit confusing, but I cannot imagine anyone who knew about Mitch's death to ask out his widow only 3-4 months after his death. And the date to Big Sur/Ventana? Totally romantic. Also, isn't the meditation room supposed to be for meditation and not long-winded talks/discussions?
  4. They must already know the one or two women they want for season 17. I have no inkling who it would be amongst these women. Perhaps they are going with a retread? A few former Bachelors seem to be upping their media presence, so who knows?
  5. She may not be trying to marry Matt; she may be trying to become the Bachelorette, get on BIP, or become an "influencer."
  6. Does he maybe take the crickets from the cricket bucket and plant them in unsuspecting homes in order to grow his business? Help, I have a cricket infestation...
  7. A HUGE thank you to our sleuths. Every single thing about Chris' background is a red flag. It sounds like he quits everything he starts, leaving others to clean up behind him. Choosing a rental car over an apartment clearly shows he is into appearances/image (how he arrives, rather than how he lives). For those of you who think he wants a trophy wife, the problem is that trophy wives want men who actually have money. I am a Christian and seek God's plan/path, but I also know that I make many bone-headed decisions of which I have to face the consequences (and were based on what I wanted rather than what God wanted). Paige is clear that she thinks this is God's path for her, but it seems to me that she may have chosen this opportunity and is trying to justify it as God's plan.
  8. I thought that all 4 should have been sent home. But, I know that they have an episode requirement and the season would end too early if he had sent them all home. Syann really put her team behind with the multiple flatbreads, so I was surprised she was safe. But, I am really tired of the Marc/Declan drama. These chefs with the overblown egos need to realize that there is only 1 overblown ego in this show (and GR has earned his kudos). I kind of loved it when Gordon yelled at Marc about overtalking him. Amber sure had attitude when she joined the blue team. Does not bode well for her if she can't get along with the twists and turns.
  9. I really wonder how Chris has developed his self-image and how he talks to others. He certainly cannot "read the room" whether speaking with his wife or her best friends. I know that a lot of people take pride in "speaking their truth/being honest" but I cannot understand how they don't see the hurt of their words. I really wished that one of the bridesmaids had slapped him after some of his comments about Paige (and, no, I do not advocate violence outside of these boards). In what world does he imagine that her best friends want to hear his negative comments about their friend? Actually, I believe that the marriages are only legal once everyone signs the marriage certificate. If so, I wish Paige had refused to sign and had just left. Then she would not have been in a "legally binding marriage..." I think Jacob is awkward. But, I also don't think he is as quiet as Henry was during his season. Jacob did attempt to talk with Haley and ask questions. I still have hope for these two, but I do have to acknowledge that Haley's face totally dropped with the 80s were mentioned during the wedding. Those previews indicate that this will be quite a season...
  10. I enjoyed this episode and the flashbacks to teen Malcolm. However, I was a bit confused why the school would expel Malcolm when we were told by Jessica that her family basically built the school and that Jessica was a trustee. Also, a private school is really careful about disciplining students because they continually want tuition and money/donations.
  11. If they wanted a clean and clear reason why NuMandy, Kyle, and unseen daughters moved in (I guess to keep the idea behind the title that Mike lives in a predominantly female household), they should have had Kyle as a full-time student preparing for the ministry (so they could do college and seminary) so they moved back in to save money while he prepared for his career change (they had a few episodes that focused on him thinking about becoming a pastor). That at least would reference prior stories and justifying the move-in.
  12. I forgot to mention earlier that Natalie made a statement that really illustrates her self-perception (beyond her klassiness, cultural awareness, and high intelligence). She stated that she could either be married or right. She really believes that she is right about everything and therefore her frustration stems from the fact that Mike does not accept her "rightness" and continues to have his own opinions. Once they marry (and she has accomplished that goal), she will never let go of being "right" which she only begrudgingly is doing for the sake of getting married. She will just get angrier and poutier throughout their relationship due to her "rightness" not being acknowledged. Oh, and I thought it was rich when she complained about Mike talking to his mother about their relationship when her own mother had to stroke her hair and soothe her in order for Natalie to calm down after one of the many fights she and Mike had in Ukraine.
  13. Tiffany is wearing thin on my nerves-she hates meat so signing up for this show was really a great idea. In my opinion Cameron is basing his antics on Cameron from Modern Family (albeit a younger version). He seems the most aware of the cameras and there are a few times in each episode when we can see him "light up" as soon as he realizes that the camera is on him. I like Amber and Makayla. I think that the contestants who have timing issues will be gone before the finale as they wouldn't be able to complete the dinner with bad timing. Re: Ari from Season 20, she and her husband had foster children, so they had to pass some kind of background check for that. In my experience though, people can "present" for interviews, etc., so sometimes it is just really difficult to discern who people really are (i.e. all the scammers out there).
  14. How poorly Matt dresses really hit home for me when Ben Higgins came out and showed Matt how to dress for outside activities. And, that love fest was fun (because I didn't have to do it...) especially when compared the "fight for love" fest. I don't understand why the producers like the violent dates (I still remember Ames getting injured way back when). I also don't understand why the producers keep trying to make Wells happen (potentially the most successful contestant ever due to his engagement to a real actor/star). I continue to believe that the producers only realized how boring/dull Matt was after they made a big deal about selecting him as the Bachelor and therefore had to come up with various "drama" angles to keep the season going. As to recycling the lead, I remember the early seasons of the show when the Bachelors were all "new" to Bachelor Nation and most of them were really fun and memorable (cheers to Andrew Firestone...). It's not imperative that the lead has been on the show before, but it IS imperative that they have a personality. I also think it is essential that they really do seem like a "catch." I remember how fun it was to have a real Prince (Lorenzo?) as the Bachelor although he himself was not that fun (there are tons of minor royals in Europe who do not have wealth or castles-just a long-forgotten title). Now we're down to leads who generally don't have enough of a job to prevent them from going on multiple seasons of multiple versions of the show. Positives from the most recent episode? The scenery. It is a gorgeous location and they have all of the fall colors in their glorious peaks. I do think the producers intentionally show the hotels and resorts in the best way possible in order to keep being able to get some really great locales. I was one of the few who seemed to like the beauty of the desert and the La Quinta last season and I am blown away by the beauty of this resort. It was a bit sad though when they showed some of the women sitting and talking in front of a swimming pool that had a cover over it. No pool parties this season. There is a part of me that wonders if Tyler didn't set his "best friend" up and is just laughing during the whole season. "No, Matt, the producers really want you to find love and will do everything to give you serious and amazing women to meet. Me? No, I'm just, um, you know, like...too busy. Yea, that's the ticket, I'm just too busy. You really should be the Bachelor..."
  15. I believe that there are already car coffee makers out there as a friend mentioned she bought one from QVC for a gift.
  16. I wish they would show that the Mayor has some level of shrewdness rather than just totally out of touch as they portrayed him as a retired successful businessperson. If they wanted to have him be out of touch, have him win the lottery or inherit a fortune. But, if he made his millions himself, he would have some business savvy. Have him be out of touch with his daughter or social media, but not everything.
  17. I enjoyed this and agree with others about the "modernization" of the lead. She looks mid-late 30s to me. I did enjoy how they brought her father into the story and hope to keep seeing how he trained her (very similar to Psych and how Henry trained Shawn). I do appreciate finding out about the glass eye-I did not make that connection. See how much I need everyone else on this site? I liked Mr. Parker and wonder if he was gay and that's why he didn't want to marry.
  18. I still wear a watch-so much easier/faster than pulling out my cell phone (IMO). However, I would never wear any of the monstrosities that Stephanie bought for Ryan, nor would I buy a $3,000 watch.
  19. Graduates owe service time after graduating. So, although not boot camp, it's not a completely free ride either. I have never liked the Jen character so agree with others that they should have just left that story line alone. It also was very convoluted how they brought her back; they should have just focused on the story lines they already had going for the final season. It did make me wonder though where she was staying in the house what with NuMandy , Kyle, and unseen children living there. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I like Ryan's new look-I think he looks quite handsome.
  20. Okay, not defending Jovi too much, but he probably doesn't drink while gone for work and was just getting in relaxing mode after a long flight. I might have a tendency to do the same, but try to hide it in a Bloody Mary or Mimosa (tomato juice, orange juice...healthy...). Natalie manipulates through her moods. Angry, frustrated then when she gets what she wants, all happy (until the next thing she wants). She reminds me of toddlers throwing temper tantrums until they get what they want. I couldn't believe that she reprimanded Mike about a roll and butter in front of his mother. I think Mike's mother realizes that he is going to make a HUGE mistake, but is going to do what he is going to do so is trying to keep a positive relationship with Natalie so she can continue to be in their lives. Although I agree with Julia-calling Brandon during the workday to throw a fit and offer an ultimatum is just wrong. Deal with it after work. If he had to leave work early it won't sit well with his employer. I also think she purposefully put the dirt on her face as a sympathy ploy for both her father and Brandon (although Brandon didn't face time with her).
  21. This episode made me wonder if they thought they would only be a one season show and really didn't have a plan in place for additional seasons. The story lines seem more hit or miss than last year. The new parents plot is just sort of there-they haven't really developed it except for bringing in the sister. Zoey and her relationship woes are really the same as the previous season. The workplace stories are a mess (HR would have been all over that workplace environment-especially as Tobin was representing the company itself in the softball stuff). I get that life can be overwhelming, especially when grieving, but this season kind of seems all over the place.
  22. I haven't bothered to watch SNL for years, but will definitely watch his episode!
  23. Lauren and her "I'm a pretty girl and they're picking on the pretty girl" ummm, no? I personally don't find her that pretty so that was actually pretty funny to me. I, too, could get them nominating Lauren as long as they also nominated Jordan or Fabiola. But to nominate Nickie when she had a good week? That's a big no. Fabiola was a good choice to leave, but I would have been good with Jordan leaving as well. I also think Fabiola took some drugs while on the day-trip. I get that she could have been dehydrated, but the freak-out seemed way beyond that. Whatever it was, she really is best off leaving as the pressure is just going to increase as contestants are sent home and the stronger ones move towards the finale. As for Marc? He totally over-inflates his worth as he took credit for the win and ignored his messed-up Caesar salad. Declan needs to ignore him though-if he lets Marc get to him, he'll start making mistakes and find himself out. I think the smartest contestant there is the one guy who kept reading the recipe book/manual. It looked like he really was studying the info while trying to stay out of the drama.
  24. She got her proposal on the Winter Games as well as her season on the Bachelorette. So, in all of her searching, she was engaged twice. I agree with others that Clare creates her own drama. She did so on Juan Pablo's season when, after not receiving a proposal, went all out on berating Juan Pablo whereas, had there been a proposal she would not have uttered a peep.
