  1. I think it is really telling when a participant revels in being described as "the life of the party" when it probably is just code for "forces all of the attention upon himself/herself." Clara does it through non-stop dramatic talking and Virginia does it through non-stop drinking. I don't think "life of the party" is quite the compliment that others think it is. If Virginia can feel secure in her relationship with Eric, maybe she will cut back on her drinking a bit. I think some people drink in order to create self-confidence and Virginia may be one of those. Hopefully she will settle down as Eric seems really committed to the process and also seems nice (but, as we all know, that can change in a second). Clara just needs to not worry about always having the attention on herself. I am already cringing for the weddings next week. Chris is too far into himself. And, although I can appreciate a bit of 80's fun, I think Haley will be put off by Jacob's age and interests. I did enjoy the weddings. Everything was beautiful and everyone seemed happy. But, we shall see...
  2. I really enjoyed this episode. Christian Borle was amazing and so very different from how I've seen him in previous work. However, Martin should not be getting more privileges as he is as dangerous as ever. Like above posters, I would really like to see the Ainsley-Martin relationship grow and how Malcolm would react to it. I don't like the JT story line (although I do like the character and actor). The villany seems too cartoony. Also, wouldn't his call go to a call center rather than a random cop?
  3. Just tragic news-I hope that the other children are safe and being cared for by loving and responsible people. It feels wrong to try to move on to snarkiness. I'll come back in a few days to make comments about the episode.
  4. I tend to think this is how she really is. I think she keeps upping the ante/craziness because she realizes he is 'slipping away' and she doesn't know how to stop it. She plays the pouty sex-kitten role which isn't working; then she plays the 'I'm so in love with you that I want you to be healthy' role which isn't working; then she looks for the ring thinking she can put it back on, but that isn't working either. She is slowly spinning out of control trying to regain control in the relationship.
  5. I am shocked, shocked I tell you. After all, she schooled everyone about how she was still single because she knew what and who she wanted and, by golly, she wasn't going to waste her time. Hopefully the franchise will not give her anymore opportunities to find love...
  6. I appreciate that info. Makes it quite sad that these women are vying for a romance with the Bachelor who is...unemployed. I guess it doesnt matter when all someone wants is to become "famous."
  7. I think that if Matt had appeared on the Clare/Tyisha season (as originally planned) that the producers would never have moved forward with him as the Bachelor due to his boringness (new word). Or maybe they would have if they felt he would do as instructed by them. I know that the Bachelors are becoming less and less 'accomplished' in their professions, wealth, etc., but if my understanding is correct-Matt is the first unemployed Bachelor. Is this right?
  8. Now that you mention it, we haven't seen their blond friend for a while (now that they have Julia to work the farm)...
  9. Sex and the City had Carrie breaking the 4th wall during the first season, but dropped it after that season. In an interview, Sarah Jessica Parker stated that the only person who could carry that off was Matthew Broderick (her husband) in Ferris Bueller's Day Off... I think the producers should revisit that interview. If it isn't done well, it can really be annoying.
  10. The thing about traditional condiments is that I can control how much of what I put on my sandwich, burger, etc. The sauce slice people are determining the amounts/types of each condiment and I don't think they will be able to combine them to the point of mass appeal. Also, I agree with others about the texture issues. How many bracelets have we seen over the years on the show? I cringed when the daughter said the bracelets and message would remind us to love others. Really? We won't love others unless we read it on our bracelets? Way too much debt on the company. I don't understand why champagne is sprayed around as a form of celebration. When I celebrate with champagne I like to...drink it... I know!
  11. And yet this show continually rewards her for her actions and decisions. In my opinion she has consistently shown an abuser mentality towards Michael yet she is "beloved" by the show, many fans, and several cast mates. I have never liked her and don't understand her appeal.
  12. Natalie really doesn't like anything about Mike except for the fact that he lives in the U.S. She is obviously trying to change him into the type of man she really wants, but it's not going to work. Mike must have been the only American who even showed an interest in her. However, she showed herself while Mike was in the Ukraine, so Mike knew what he was getting when she came to the U.S. Producer driven? Maybe, but the fact he is going along with it does not make him look sane. Maybe their own brands of crazy actually work together?
  13. So, when we first meet Amira after being deported, she is very calmly setting up the cameras in the hotel bathroom. She takes a moment to set herself up and then starts the fake crying and despair. The editors must not like her as they clearly showed us the before and after of setting up for the cameras. Oh, and her going on and on about how she should not have been treated that way. Well, that's potentially what happens when one (knowlingly) breaks laws. No sympathy and no interest from me. Brandon just needs to find an apartment asap. He kind of wants it both ways-to live rent free AND with his fiance. Make an adult decision and stick with it. He so doesn't want that farm in the future. I am dumbfounded my Natalie and her crazy. At least she realizes it was her actions that led to Mike's change towards her. However, she is misreading how to repair the relationship. She is trying to make herself the most desirable woman ever due to her high IQ and her healthy lifestyle. None of that matters to Mike. Especially as she continually criticizes him and his choices. When I would get home from work, all I wanted was a moment or two to just unwind a bit. I think that's all Mike wants. But no, now he gets lectured because he wanted pasta (no, no pasta for you at night), a beer (no, only water for you), and stir-fried shrimp (no, no stir-fried shrimp for you). If she doesn't want him to state his preferences, then she should have dinner ready (I agree with an above poster who wrote that). Then she taunts him about her IQ and how "low class" she thinks he is. Hmmm, so low class that he is a manager at his job and owns a home on several acres? Her continual statements about a lack of respect translate into "he should do everything I want." If we really want to know what Natalie is like, all we need to see is how quickly the cat tried to get away from her versus the cat falling asleep on Mike's lap. After all of this, if they get married Mike will deserve everything coming his way. I can't believe Rebecca wouldn't put some furniture in the apartment for Zied. I know a lot of us think many of the stories are producer driven, but the bottom line is that the participants go along with the producers. So, it's more important to be on t.v. than to make sure your fiance has a chair to sit on his first day in the U.S.?
  14. I think that Mayim may be more of an ensemble actor rather than a leading actor. Even in Blossom it seems like the break-out characters were the other ones (her friend and her brother). Even though I loved her in Big Bang, it was as part of an ensemble. She was in a Hallmark Christmas Movie that I really enjoyed (forget the title) and I do watch it when I come across her, but, again, it was more of an ensemble than lead.
  15. They made Ted Danson too bumbling and stupid in my opinion. He was a really successful businessman but doesn't realize he shouldn't eat pot gummy bears while out all day on official business? Too much for me. Also don't like the Holly Hunter character. Just too exhausting.
  16. And, socks absorb the sweat (and to a degree, the smell).
  17. Just wanted to add that Whose Line Is It Anyway? airs on the CW. Wayne Brady is amazing on it (and I enjoy the others as well-all very talented). I believe Wayne Brady was also in Kinky Boots and he appeared in the final season of Colony. So, he is more famous than most of the "celebrities" that Gordon brings in (IMO).
  18. Regarding the boat crash incident-towards the end of the case, the plaintiff admitted he wasn't there and didn't see the crash as his 17 year old daughter was the one driving the boat. JJ did not say one word about how could he have known what happened when he wasn't there? For whatever reason, JJ just accepted his version of things even though he wasn't there. What was up with that? He spoke as if he was the one driving his boat until the very end. Having lived on a major lake, I would definitely have questions for the 17 year old, yet JJ really didn't ask her anything. This was so out of the ordinary for how JJ would normally respond when finding out the person giving all of the info wasn't even there.
  19. So, it's righteous and wonderful that one twelve year old boy's skull is returned to the cave while another twelve year old boy's skull is given to someone who buys antiquities most likely on the black market? Cannot fathom that Higgins can run off on these cases and hangout with everyone all of the time when she "owns" a multi-million dollar estate and business and oversees hundreds of employees.
  20. I hope that Ryan is a good worker and if Stephanie pulls her financial support from the "luxury" resort that they may keep him on (what a reaction that would provide).
  21. I think that the producers went with Matt and then realized how low key he truly is, so they brought in Victoria and Katie to ramp up the drama. Katie may be laying low for now (let Victoria be the current focus), but she brought her dildo and made quite a spectacle of it during the first night, so I feel that she is just waiting in the wings for when Victoria leaves.
  22. Andrew is totally about the drama-hence the reactions, sighs, dramatic poses, etc. I think the best thing for his fiance would be if Mexico made her return home to France, giving her time to re-evaluate her relationship. Rebecca's daughter and her partner sure like to sound tough. In the middle of asking Zied what he was going to do for work I was really hoping he would ask them what they do for work. Stephanie really seemed older than her stated age in this episode. Her anger was misdirected as it should be at herself. You just know she really wanted to tell Ryan that she was paying his salary. He was so clear about being over her and yet she spouts the "if we don't spend time together our relationship may be in trouble" phase which completely misses the point that Ryan was trying to make. Very telling that she admits they have trust issues and yet she continues in the relationship. Natalie tried to sell a fairy tale to her mother that just isn't happening. She is desperate for the ring but doesn't acknowledge that it was her action that led to Mike taking back the ring. I doubt that he had any interest in giving it back to her. I wonder why he even had her come to the U.S. as they really don't seem to like each other. Oh, and I hate hearing her call him "love" in each sentence. Skipped Tarek and Hazel. Don't care.
  23. The His/Her bar couple seem to believe the "I'll come up with a million dollar idea" trope and forget that, no, not every idea will be successful or worth a million dollars. When the wife said that everyone told her that she was crazy, delusional, etc., she had pride in her tone that she refused to listen to them. My father (and his father before him) was a firefighter and there is an essential element of effectively working together so I was very interested in his story about failing the test, being hired, and then being released (unless he was released from the fire academy and never actually hired-his stories were a bit confusing). I feel bad for them and the issues that they seem to consistently face, but perhaps they need to take a moment and reflect and/or seek help rather than just run to the next idea. I was not impressed with the sports drink presentation/product. We have seen so many of these presentations over the years. I did like the idea of the sports fantasy trophies and think they will be a strong business.
  24. I really enjoyed this episode. And, what with events that have been going on for months now, I am enjoying all of the shows that I like that are now returning.
  25. Is this a case of making ridiculous 'announcements' in order to try to stay relevant?
