  1. I enjoyed this season mainly because I enjoy the whole series so much. I finally got Netflix and binged all 3 seasons in 4 days (watched the first season when it originally aired on Lifetime). I'm surprised how many people want Joe to be caught/killed/etc. as this is his story/show. In real life I would never support murderers, but as entertainment I can get behind Joe's story. I did like the dynamic of Joe and Love when they worked as a team as it brought a different perspective to the show. I didn't like the character of Marianne (but like the actress) as she really seemed to be looking for someone to "save" her even though she presented differently. Why else did she so quickly fall for Joe? And, she saw herself as good even though she knew Joe was married, etc. (hey, the spouse is the cheater, not the person with whom Joe cheated-but she defended herself when speaking with Love). And, she was ready to run away with Joe even though her daughter barely knew him and was dealing with her father's death. Haven't really cared for any of Joe's "yous" but there is a reason he zeros in on them in the first place. Didn't understand why Matthew was hateful towards Joe as he identified Love as Natalie's murderer. Oh, and like others, loved Sherry and Cary by the end. Don't feel sorry for Theo as he was a bit obsessive towards Love so it would be an interesting story to follow that he, himself, may have some tendencies. And it seemed like he was going to help Sherry and Cary until they started talking about Love (similar to neighbor boy and Beck in season 1). Oh well-am looking forward to season 4 but hope that they are able to bring a different angle to the story.
  2. Right after the Seattle couple stated that their company had 3 employees, the narrator's voiceover stated that they were jobless. Geesch, get the story straight-it's only 20 minutes of show (much of which is repetitive) so it's not that hard to keep everything straight. Loved the home they bought-but agree that it will be an expensive renovation (but well worth it).
  3. I think we may be misunderstanding what they mean when they say "5 for 5..." We think they want 5 for 5 successes when in reality they mean 5 for 5 disasters which will bring ratings and ensure they will continue to have these jobs. Matching an unemployed tall man with a short employed woman...isn't that Amber and the unemployed basketball player? I understand that many people were laid off during the pandemic, but I also know that companies have been trying to hire people and just can't fill all of their positions. So, I guess when this was filmed would make a difference, but his "I can find money when I need to" statements and attitude bothered me. It would definitely be a red flag for me if my husband was very happy not working while I was working. Anytime the "experts" match someone who has "traditional" values they neglect to ask exactly what that person means by "traditional." I wonder why they approved the "shark" guy when they rejected him previously. Maybe they want someone who really wants to be married so that there's a chance of a successful match. This seems like a real mess of a season.
  4. I think Caleb totally had a vision of himself as a knight in shining armor who would provide a level of support and romance that would show the world (well, the t.v. viewing audience) how enlightened he was. Then, when he arrived, the legendary image he created of himself burst when he realized Alina had limitations for which she would need help. He constantly complained (both implicitly and explicitly)-he gave off exasperated sighs and looks when he had to carry luggage up and down steps outside of the hotel and then in the hotel. He didn't help Alina out of the taxi, and just seemed like a spoiled little boy who didn't get the Christmas presents that he wanted. Although my heart hurts for Alina (but maybe, just maybe, she didn't share all of her needs), I find humor in the fact that Caleb is not coming off as he thought he would in the show. Kim is also really into the fantasy of her (non-existent) relationship in terms of how she sees it versus how it really is. Her quick temper came out when they called her a superfan. She sees herself as "potential" girlfriend but until then, isn't that what she is? Oh, and Hazan's mom seems sweet. I think she really wants him to get to the U.S. and start sending money home. I was surprised how easily Ximena demonstrated that all she wants is Mike's money. She gave it all away when she said that she still loved the younger son's father (in prison) and that Mike was financing her life. None of these participants ever listen to their friends/family members who speak the truth. You go Grandpa Mike!
  5. Although it's an adorable photo spread, there is a part of me that just wishes they would not put Hannah all over social media so much. I'm glad they are happy, and I hope that they, and all of my poster peeps have a wonderful Christmas and many blessings in the New Year.
  6. I had to just delete this episode after watching for only a few minutes. Julia is waaaay too much and Molly and the guy were just boring. I could watch a whole hour with just Veronica and Tim. I'm sure the producers keep cycling through people to find their next "super stars" to keep feeding the never-ending shows and spin-offs, but I just want to watch Pillow Talkers who are ready to snark and not trying for their own spin-offs.
  7. I couldn't believe that Bakers in Toyland didn't win. Both cakes had issues, but I thought that amongst the "high points" between both teams that Bakers in Toyland excelled. I don't really care for all of the judges interactions with each other-I felt like they focused on the judges more than the competition. Oh well. Yes, I will most likely watch again next year for I am weak...
  8. Oh, I just love Elijah and Kathleen (clerk at toy store). Elijah because he just really seems to care about Alina and Kathleen because she gets it (coffee indeed). I think Alina is going to be really happy that her parents made her take Elijah with her. As much as I didn't like SteVen, I like Caleb even less. He just wants fame (maybe even more that SteVen did...). I think his parents were really concerned FOR Alina not ABOUT Alina. They know their son and I think their questions were worded to not upset him but to make sure he understood some truths. Okay, I may be wrong, but I have this impression that some of the American men like Latinas because they think the women will dominate them while I think some of the American women like Africans because they think they will be able to dominate the men-all in the name of a green card.
  9. I just binged all of the episodes and am glad that others seem as confused about some of the plot as I. I am not a fan of back and forth time narratives (really dislike them in books as well as t.v./movies). I kind of feel they are cheap gimmicks and that the story would not hold up if told in a linear/chronological manner. The first season was able to hold suspense/interest without the constant back and forth. I did realize that Baptiste's beard was there to help me keep track of when things were happening (oh, and Emma's wheelchair and hair styles also helped), but I kind of lose track when having to focus so much. I never watching The Missing, but after reading everyone's comments about it (compared to Baptiste I will look for it).
  10. Wow, I like Heather so much more after seeing her video. It's a shame they never showed her fun side during the season (well, I guess since she never found an advantage or idol they didn't see the need to show her at all...).
  11. I, too, have no idea what Liberate does, but I think the presenter thought she had it in the bag and seemed really surprised that nobody wanted to invest in a 2 million valuation for a "business" that has lifetime sales of $50,000. Math matters. I thought the banana thing was stupid as it's not that hard to spread peanut butter/other things on a banana. I also think it would be hard to clean the corer thing. Plus, I don't like that kind of "clutter" in the kitchen. How often do people eat plain bananas versus bananas with chocolate/peanut butter/etc. I thought the tenkicle guy should have gone with Robert's deal which was essentially $370,000 (which would pay debts with 100,000 to start anew) for 60%, BUT once a new manager was hired that person's equity would come out of Robert's 60% thus protecting the presenter's 40%. Also, if Robert had controlling interest, I think he would have really focused on the business and help it grow. It amazes me when sharks moan and complain about an offer when they are out and have no intention of making an offer. The MaxPro seemed to be the best business presented in this episode (IMO). Oh, and Mark and his humble brag about having a video up with his son that has been viewed 20 million times while telling the presenter how easy it is to get views. I'm so glad that the guy responding with something like "yeah, but you're Mark Cuban." Geesch Mark, just stop using yourself as an example of what others can do.
  12. Yes, but will the headless ghost be there?
  13. Watched today's episode about the woman who sent over $500,000 dollars to scammers to secure "government grants." Her husband wasn't aware of it and has done everything possible to stop her from these ongoing scams. What is especially sad is that there seems to be cognitive decline to blame (well, and of course the scammers are truly to blame). My heart went to the husband (who is applying for conservatorship) as well as the wife who admitted she doesn't remember things, can't remember the names of her grandchildren, and can't recognize long-term friends. Definitely the start of Alzheimers. However, I was really disappointed in Dr. Phil as he absolutely offered no help (I thought he could at least put the husband in touch with experts who can help him better understand how to provide their assets and be prepared for the long and hard road upon which they are embarking). No, instead he spent the last minutes promoting some gaming program and how it can bring people together. Sigh.
  14. Although my thoughts about Tim Gunn changed drastically after watching his show (Under the Gunn?), I prefer his mentoring to Christian's in that Tim identified an issue and then let the designer rectify it. In this version of the show Christian identifies an issue and then redesigns the outfit. I would watch a show in which each episode they give Christian a different challenge and then he meets it but, alas, that is not supposed to be this show. Yes, the designers can either take his direction or ignore it, but I think he gives way too much direction. If this is a design show, then let the designers sink or swim based on their designs, not Christian's. As for the model whose designers have been eliminated in these last two episodes, she is a very difficult fit. Elaine talks about "gorgeous curves" but the model carries her weight in her mid-section/stomach which is very hard to fit and design. Plus size models who have their weight more evenly distributed are easier to fit and design than those who carry excess weight in the mid-section. This is all my opinion of course, but I am overweight myself and know various based on where my weight is and how overweight at any particular time that I am. I have made adjustments when sewing from patterns as well as when shopping. There is a similarity in models who are all size 0 or 2 that is just not found with plus size models as they tend to have "gorgeous curves" in different places. Okay, my rant is over (well, for now...). I think there were a lot more options for different materials than there have been in previous versions of this challenge. Oh, and I was shocked at Elaine's outfit and styling for a cocktail dress challenge.
  15. Although both DeShawn and Heather told Xander that Erika could beat him, I personally would not have put much trust into their perspectives as they were trying to be the one he saved. Yes, they were right, but it would be hard to believe them in that situation as they are trying to stay in the game. I think this would be the hardest aspect of Survivor-who to believe, when to believe them, and why believe them? And I think it would be even harder in the 39 day seasons when it would feel like one was even more isolated and questioning everything.
  16. Shan can miss me with her self-righteous "I would have gone out at 4 so the three of you could be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd" nonsense. What about all of her statements that Ricard was her #1? THAT'S why other alliance members turned on her-she blatantly stated who her number 1 was and it wasn't anyone in her cultural alliance. So, Shan, just go home and be as self-righteous as you want to your congregants who you will pretend to listen to and then do what you want anyway (per an earlier talking head). Oh, and I realized that Jeff is trying to turn Survivor into his old talk show. as he told people how they felt and what their motivations were and then stated who was going to be voted out. I don't know what is going on with him, but he has been the host of what was once one of the greatest reality shows on t.v. (IMO) and has turned it into a shadow of its former self and is committed to lecturing all of us while destroying the show (again, IMO). I didn't care for Ricard in the first few episodes, then once he helped vote out Shan I liked him, but with his 'sob story' of missing his baby's birth (maybe, who knows) and then his self-congratulatory statement about being one of the best players ever (which Jeff just had to chime in about), I am so over him. I hope that he and Shan never appear again, but I just know that Jeff loves them (how come I had to look at Shan more than the individuals in the final 3? why did almost every shot of the jury center on Shan?) and will bring them back. And, no, a 26 day Survivor with less food is NOT the hardest season ever. Africa, Australia (42 days!), and other seasons were far harder. This was almost 2 weeks shorter-so, just stop with the false narrative.
  17. The ornament anchor is really just a fancy rubber band (which can probably be bought for about $3.00 for a hundred)-it's the same concept and would work in a similar manner (yes, I was just looking at my Christmas tree and was thinking about it...). I was actually also thinking about the older son who presented this product as well as their other one and felt bad for him because if he's this pushy and all-knowing in real life he may be a bit of an outsider with other kids. There are future potential issues when some parents reinforce their childrens' special snowflake status too much to the point of the children always thinking they are right and everyone needs to always listen to them.
  18. Okay, I just LOVED that after Magnum nailed Barry he turned to little miss "there's no such thing as a naughty list" and told her "see, I told you there was a naughty list..." Made my day quite frankly. Oh, and I really liked Higgins and Magnum in their holiday get-ups (and when Magnum changed clothes, I really like the Christmas colored tropical shirt). Overall, really enjoyed the episode. I think there will be fallout for Lia within the department as that was a pretty big secret to keep (about her father). Glad the Magnum "family: unit is growing, but like an above poster, think they should have had Shammy there.
  19. The Amsterdam woman seemed very...uninterested. Even when Sarah (who I don't care for) asked questions, she barely answered them and just seemed so removed from what she was doing and her surroundings.
  20. My heart goes to Alina and her parents as it must have been extremely hard to raise her in Russia. The parents' concern for Alina was very real and I'm glad they talked her into taking her friend with her. I wouldn't be surprised if Alina wasn't looking for a way out of Russia-first via the South African (and it sounded like she just decided to go see him, not that he invited her [ala Courtney]) and now with Caleb (who I think is totally about social media and building a storyline about his spirituality and inclusiveness but is going to demonstrate he doesn't have that much compassion for Alina). Okay, now that I have expressed that I just want to add that Alina has intentionally decided to be on this show, so let the snarkfest begin. There is no way I believe that Kim is only 50. Just as I think multiple older participants lie about their age on these shows, I think she is also misrepresenting her age along with her desperation (and I am older so I'm not an ageist, I just think many of these participants misrepresent many things about themselves including their true ages). I really, really, really hope that we don't have to listen to Usman's version of singing. I also feel for Memphis and Gino as I think their stories are much more complex than we have seen. But, again, they have chosen to put themselves on this show, so...
  21. Wow, I really remembered that family from their previous pitch and they did not change one thing (except the product). I did not like them before and I did not like them now. The same son dominated both times and the entire family seems like they want to argue back every point. The sons both did that (and the one really did that in their previous appearance) and the mom did keep arguing back, but her son overspoke her. I think it was Mark who hit it-their business is getting on t.v. to pitch a product. I did not like the gnome product but I do understand the appeal (and I think they are supposed to keep the home safe and bring good luck to the home) and I do have a gnome in my garden (but doesn't look anything like hers did). I think she has a nice little business so kudos to her. I liked the couple with the Santa mail box and liked the product. If the price point was lowered, I could see people buying it. Hopefully they will get a better manufacturing deal and start selling them. I liked Tommy the Real Elf but don't understand his business-is it like a Cameo (for $50!!!). I think Barbara is going to lose her investment on this one.
  22. Yeah, I agree-Shan totally thought the rest of her alliance (perhaps with the exception of Ricard) was beneath her and that she was far more intelligent and strategic. She probably can't let it go because she cannot envision a world in which her alliance members, as well as the non-alliance players, could ever out-strategize her own plans. Just like she told us that she pretends to listen to her church members and then does what she wants anyway, she probably thought that she would be able to do what she wanted in the game without anyone realizing what she was doing.
  23. I know that I'm not a fashionista-especially since the judges told us all that this was the most talented group of designers they have ever had (I believe that they knew this back in episode 2) and I don't see that so I'm obviously not fashion-forward. However, I just couldn't with Elaine criticizing Aaron's design while sitting there wearing a tank top with feathers (and I no longer love Aaron [since the previous episode] so that's not why I disagreed with her comments). I actually thought this was one of the worst runways and that very few designs fit the criteria. I thought Bones' design was horrible so was surprised he wasn't in the bottom. Anything with that many mini-straps on the back is not quick and easy (same for Coral's design). I also don't care for all of these "it's a top, no it's a dress, no it's pants" designs-I get it that Brandon has stated that he loves a reveal so now they all want to have reveals. But, even Brandon seems over the reveals (as noted while watching Octavio's reveal with the sleeves). I'm also tired of lingerie as "street wear" (trademark BOTH Octavio and Anna). Sure, the select elite that all these designers think they are designing for may wear lingerie as street wear, but I would imagine that the average woman would not wear lingerie as street wear (or maybe I am just old and cranky [which does not necessarily negate wanting nice, appropriate clothes]). Oh, and whatever they are paying Christian is worth it as he seems to be basically designing and styling every single item going down the runway.
  24. For whatever reason I think they are trying to give Heather a "redemption arc" in her "I had no idea...Survivor has changed my life" scenes. Maybe to try to justify that she isn't a goat and deserves to be in the final three (speculation only-not a spoiler)? Danny and DeShawn can just stop with the "why did you vote out Liana when Ricard is the bigger threat" questions. You know why. You knew you were targeting everyone else when you made your alliance with Shan and Liana. It always bothers me when the previous dominant alliances start with this argument when they are no longer the dominant alliance. I'm surprised that they kept DeShawn over Danny in that many past contestants have stated that they don't like chaotic players because one can never predict their actions (therefore preferring predictable players) and DeShawn seems very chaotic in his gameplay. But, I do think people preferred Danny and his calm friendly manner which made Danny more dangerous to everyone's end game. Too much focus on Shan in the jury for me. She's out-doesn't matter how much production loved her, she's out. And, yes, I anticipate they will bring her back in a future season (if Survivor lasts that long due to this season's dwindling numbers [which will probably only inspire Jeff to add every MORE twists and turns in the future]).
  25. I didn't watch the season but decided to watch TMTA. As a result, I feel like I have seen the entirety of the dramatic moments of the season as well as who the designated villains were. Although I could tell that Peter thought extremely highly of himself, I felt it was unfair that they only showed negative reviews of his pizza (and felt like Will definitely was behind those posts). As Peter said, it's his livelihood so they should have included at least one better review (IMO). They sure seemed to like piling on him. And Will sure loved the limelight until he was served (real or not) and then acted all tough by throwing the papers on the floor-that'll show them! Yea, super tough until called on it. Fell instantly in love with Rodney (how could she let him go?). And, like others have stated "Don't do it Rodney-don't go to Mexico!". Many formerly loved contestants have become unloved due to their appearances on BIP. I have never seen them spoil a season like they did with Clayton and showing two of the last women standing in the preview. Maybe it's that bad of a season that they think spoiling it themselves will somehow build interest?
