When the scene opened Harry was already in the middle of cooking when Lisa said she wanted turkey hotdogs in the kitchen. Outside Amelia was the only one that say she wasn't hungry and couldn't eat because she was allergic to everything. Lisa asked her "to eat a little bit for her dad".  5 Slice Grilled Cheese Delilah wanted a turkey burger, called her sister out for being allergic to salad and bitched about the awful tasting veggie burger but she was still eating.

I'm in total agreement. There are an incredible amount of closeted male celebrities in Hollywood and I believe Hamlin is one of them.

The Hamlin family has such a strange dynamic. I don't think Harry even really resides in LA with the rest of his family. It seems to me he just makes a few appearances during the filming of the show and Lisa tells the world he's off "camping" or in Canada, when in actuality he's probably living his actual life with his lover of many years.

Lisa and Harry give Amelia a pass for her illness/disease. It is part of the problem and reinforces the behavior.

If Amelia doesn't like something or chooses not to eat then she needs to sit there and be pleasant and participate in the conversation. These are life skills that are lost on her.

It is not Lisa's place to talk about Amelia's illness. IMO, Amelia does not have the facial features or beauty of a model regardless of her size. Girl should stay in school.

I have mixed feelings about all the girls modeling tbh. I think most girls love the idea of feeling beautiful and having a glamorous modeling career. I don’t blame them. But it’s an industry that is full of drugs, eating disorders, pressure to pose nude, and can be brutal on the most young, thin, and gorgeous girls’ self-esteem.

I have two adult girls.  They have NEVER spoke to me or my husband like Lisa Rinna’s girls did to Lisa and Harry.  Two spoiled brats.

I caught a clip of last season where the ladies go to Teddi's Beach Cottage. Camille was more laid back and happy and stayed to comfort Teddi after the why's everyone talking about Erika fight. It's such a change this season in her treatment of Teddi.

Amelia has kind of a big face - compared to her sister who is much more delicate.  I was wondering if that feeds into her body image.

I agree!  Also, while they might love the IDEA, the reality doesn't seem very fun.  Every time we have seen Yo or Rinna moving one of their girls into their super-deluxe apartments, I remembered my dorm hall freshman year, with all the doors open and everyone going in and out of each others' rooms, ordering beer and pizza, and just felt sorry for those poor little rich models, with their glamorous apartments and jobs and little tin of almonds in the fridge.  

Also:  Brandi was right - she totally looked like a hooker.

I thought Camille chose not to be a full time housewife. I read somewhere Bravo offered her a diamond both this season and last and she declined. Something about not having to show all aspects of her life as a friend.

 As for Amelia, I know she has an illness, but nevertheless, it bothered me how she treated her Father, and the good food that she had access to. I NEVER would have mouthed off to my Dad, nor gave him the finger.  Again, kids are treated so differently than when I grew up. We had to do chores everyday, we were expected to clean up after ourselves, and we respected our parents. They weren't our friends. They were our parents. Oh well, what do I know?

I had such a yen for Guacamole watching that seen. I was pretty upset that I have lime I didn't have any avacados at home to make some, it looked delicious. This bunny would have finished that serving for 6 easily.

In my life I've had 3 experiences seeing someone with an eating disorder. I didn't understand what I was seeing until long after. The first was when I was a teen working at Haagen-dazs. My school friend also worked there, and there were these small spoons used for sample bites given to customers when they wanted to try a flavor. She literally ate a small spoon of Cookies and Cream and then ran to the back of the store to do 100 sit ups and then she started crying. She asked me to cover for her sit in the store alone because she needed to jog a mile. My next experience was a breakfast meeting and the person across from me had a corn muffin and bowl of fruit. She proceeded to crumble the entire muffin to dust and moved the crumbs under the bowl of fruit which she didn't touch. Even though her finger with a piece of muffin would move to her mouth, that hand would then move under the fruit bowl and she'd start crumbling/hiding spreading it. She was literally fake chewing invisible food. I'm not even going to mention the third experience

As a viewer watching Amelia - it was disturbing to me and incredibly sad. She said she's not hungry, she's allergic to everything, she'd eat salad but she doesn't like the salad her father made, therefore she wasn't going to eat it. She cut/shredded whatever was on her plate and not one bite went into her mouth.

I don't think Amelia should continue to model. If she already perceives her body to be huge/fat/ugly in her mind, how can she handle perspective clients/agencies when they critique her or when she doesn't land a job?

I hope Lisa and Harry get her right back into a treatment center before she spirals again

Her assistant Scott died days before the fires. It was mentioned in a few articles at the time and that he had been a long time assistant.

So, Amelia will be 18 in just a few days.  I've seen quite a few documentaries, stories, shows that depict those with eating disorders and treatment.  As Lisa R. said, it is a long term issue that you may always struggle with.  And, the behavior we saw of her daugther lying, deflecting, defending, etc.  is part of that behavior. There is no allergy.  The illness is so big, the person is almost lost in it.They hate anyone who gets in their way to continue in their disease.   I wonder if the parents have really gone into therapy and leaned how to deal with it as parents.  Some perfectly normal and loving parents have children with this condition, so, I don't blame Lisa or Harry.  Someone being so ill in the family can really cause a lot of stress. I'm not surprised that Harry is away a lot.  I'm not a huge Harry fan and I definitely detested he and Lisa's choice of Halloween costume a couple of years ago. (Nazi)  That was horrendous, but, I will say that over the years, every time that he had a chance to say anything about Lisa R. in interviews, guest spots, etc.  it was loving, kind and complimentary.  It seemed genuine to me and I always thought that he was very much in love with her.

Eating disorders are really complex.  They come in forms of morbid obesity, anorexia, bulimia, etc. ,but, they are so frigging hard to treat.  It's as if they cannot really process logic or reality.  A 600 pound person knows they are eating themselves to death, but, they can't stop.  No matter how dire it is.  The same goes for the person who is the opposite.  Logic, reason, truth, etc.  just doesn't process.  Of course, there are some awesome treatment facilities.  I bet the people on this show have the best of the best.  I hope they can help her.  There are plenty of famous people in the entertainment world who struggle with it, such as Tracey Gold, Alanis Morrissette, Justine Bateman, Jane Fonda, Felicity Huffman, and others who will never admit to it.

As for Kyle I give her a pass. As a Bride (Camille) I would never ask my co-worker unless we were super close outside of work to be my bridesmaid. As the Bride (Camille) I would want my bridesmaid to be with me when picking out my dress, for fittings, for cake tasting, menu selecting, visiting the venue not asking a co-worker at the last minute to buy the already decided upon cap sleeved dress. As the Bride (Camille) on an important day of my life, with the new love of my life, at a huge fabulous wedding my fiance insisted on having, I wouldn't invite 2 co-workers (Teddi, Dorit) I dislike to my big day.

I also give Kyle a pass as she had to wear an unflattering cap sleeved dress and had to climb into a Clown Car

I think Lisa Rinna is a vile and evil woman. Harry Hamlin can only disguise his utter contempt for her by not being filmed. It is no accident that he never appears at parties with the other husbands.

He made the mistake of committing truth when he turned to her with withering contempt to say that he blamed her for their daughters dysfunction. Rinna famous for having a big mouth had nothing to say.

Harry was not abusive. He was just telling the truth.

Yeah.....it did seem like a job related wedding to me. lol  But, whatever pays the rolex bills I guess.  I'm now into very private weddings. And, later a nice reception for close friends and family. I seriously doubt I will watch next season if LVP is gone. I think a large part of the problem this season is there's too little Beverly Hills in the RHOBH now. I really do wonder what made them include Denise. She is so low budget and is friends with Brandi? Eww. And does her husband have, like, a job?

I also wonder about that Hamlin marriage. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves after the girls finally leave the nest. Does Lisa behave very differently at home, I often wonder, because I can't imagine he would tolerate the toxicity she spews into the group. And, like others here have noted, I think he's not "camping" alone.

This season was just horrible.

Lisa R and Harry Hamlin are actors and I think what we see of them on TV are roles they are playing. Their girls, however, aren’t actors so we see them in much more their true form. I thought that Harry might have been upset because he realized that and foresaw more clearly what the meal would look like and that the reality would shine through too much. 

My very normal brother and SIL and my good friend are going through this with their daughters. The Hamlin girl’s behavior is exactly how my niece acts around food. She’s in therapy now (along with her parents) but my friend’s daughter is in a treatment facility. This isn’t something that you can hope resolves itself.  I hope one of the Hamlin parents takes the reins for their still minor daughter.

I was full-on Team Camille season one, and I thought she was an asset in subsequent seasons, but she lost me about four or five episodes ago.  She doesn't seem happy with this new marriage, seems to have one foot in and another foot out of the show, which is hard for me to comprehend as a viewer, and as much as I despise Teddi, I just don't see her snubbing Camille's minor daughter, so that was just Camille talking shit to be a bitch AFAIC.

Speaking of Camille...isn't Rinna's problem with Camille vis a vis what Camille said about Dorit two months ago (as the screen showed us last night) very, very similar to the fight between Teddi and Dorit last season?  Didn't Teddi find herself getting "close" to Rinna, so Teddi blabbed some mild shit PK and Dorit said about Rinna possibly being psychotic three months earlier, because Teddi felt she was Accountable to The Truth, and, by extension, Lisa Rinna? (or some such bullshit) and both Rinna and Dorit threw Teddi to the dogs for dredging up old, inconsequential shit?  But now LisaR is going to make an issue of Camille saying that Dorit makes the back of her little hairs on her neck stand up?  Isn't that hypocritical?  And I don't have a dog in this fight.  Like I said, I don't like Teddi or Camille anymore, and I don't like LisaR--I just find her amusing--but this is bullshit.

This episode was officially boring.  I just don't think it's boring because of LVP's absence, as I find LVP boring.  It's just a sad cast.  I just don't understand why the hell they couldn't have edited the footage so that the news of the house fires came at the beginning, and then the rest of the women hightailing it to Provence.  We're on episode 17 already here!  There's just not that much more to see.  Wind it up.  You know it's bad when I am actually looking back at Mauricio getting his toenails cut with nostalgia.  I mean...half heartedly shopping for scarves in sweatsuits and spike heels? A very awkward family barbecue which fulfills every negative LA stereotype out there, complete with, "Dad, you've got bad vibes!" Denise looking high AF again, pretending to be above it all? Oh, and we got the aerial view of Teddi's house, which gives me the chills.  It's nice from the inside.  It's such an eyesore from the outside.  I fucking hate those posts that hold the house up.  I want to cry at the aesthetic nightmare they are.

Dorit's fashion shoot was...eh.  One the one hand, I am glad the bitch is finally using professional models and not herself.  On the other hand, it's boring to watch this.  And Dorit's accent?  Has 90% reverted back to American, unless she is in direct proximity to a British person.  Isn't she embarassed?  Oh wait, forgot who I was talking about...

Kyle...I know I'm not saying something popular, but...get your dogs under control.  I love the big dogs (not a fan of small dogs at all), but if she can afford a trainer, she should get one.  It would make everyone, including the dogs, happier.  I am not a dog trainer, but I have watched The Dog Whisperer, and he says that the animals don't like being in a chaotic, excited state.  I also think a lot of it is brought on by the nervous energy of the owner.  I just don't like that fact that the dog was barking at nothing when Kyle was on an international telephone call (even though the person on the other end sounded American).  Maybe I just don't like the fake 'trip planning' bullshit and I'm nitpicking. Everyone knows the dates of availability on a rental are available online.  So skip the fake shit, take your phone off speaker if the dog is barking, and ask your few questions, and we, the viewers, will pretend it's actually something you don't already know and that everyone needs permission from their husbands, and this this hasn't been planned out a gazillion years ago.  Calling someone to ask for the dates of availability just stretched my suspension of disbelief to its breaking point, and took me out of the scene.

I'm not going to mention She Who Shall Not Be Mentioned.  If you refuse to give a fire oxygen, doesn't it burn out?  Maybe that metaphor was too on the nose for this episode, but I refuse to talk about Brandi.

My thoughts exactly!  Every once in a while, their real selves emerge for just a second, i.e. when Harry sneered at Lisa, saying that it's her fault about Amelia, and then it's back to outdoor barbecues, fun, we love each other so much.

I've known people with eating disorders.  That's an illness that needs treatment.

But insolence, rudeness, snark, and just plain meanness?  That's a whole 'nother story.

I'm not a therapist, but when everyone has to walk on eggshells around one person, afraid of "triggering" them, well that's usually known as a dysfunctional family.  Could Amelia be Borderline?

Dorit's athleisure looks... fine.  Which is to say, it looks like every other boring sports bra and pair of workout pants that you'd find at Target.  So at least it's a huge stride forward from her swimwear, which looks ill-fitting and uncomfortable even on the most chiseled bodies.

She did. We commented on it on another thread when she was photographed being a hot mess drunk outside yet another restaurant.

She did an Instagram video the next day and as she spoke you could see one side of her mouth wasn't working properly and that she's had a lot of bad work since she's been gone.

Kyle’s boutique looked pretty nice, but I haven’t been to it myself. A lot of stores are taking a hit due to online shopping. There are a lot of things I buy online due to more options and better deals, but I prefer shopping for clothes in person myself. I guess I’m old fashioned like that.

Me too.  You know what I just remembered last night when I was watching the dysfunctional Rinna family dynamic?  That, in season five, when they were talking about sobriety, LisaR revealed that Harry "got sober" a few years ago.  And at the time, I thought it was for health, but I remember being like, "did the dude have a drinking problem or...?"  But I wrote it off.

Now I know that LisaR will minimize or maximize a problem to whatever level it suits her convenience, I am convinced Harry got drunk and either killed someone, or dropped a dog off at an Orange County shelter (too soon?).

But, in all honesty, that comment about Harry "getting sober" is nagging me now that I see how dark this family has the potential to be, and how much they sweep under the carpet.

Eh, she still didn't express remorse for how she treated her father.  Blaming it on the anorexia, as in the anorexia "made" her act that way.

No, darling, the anorexia makes you have a fear of food.  It does not "make" you be mean to your father, food or not.

She was rude when she answered the phone, before the food even came out.  She had a sourpuss look on her face the entire time.

I've known many people with eating disorders....I was in an ED group once myself.....yet I've never seen one so inexcusably abhorrent to their own father.

Just as I thought.  I appreciate that she feels terrible and attributes the behavior to the disease.  That's fair.  What I do find troubling is that she says she's 100% cured and doing great!  I'm not sure how realistic that is.  You can't flip a switch and be cured.  I wish her well.

I hope she has made good progress since then. Still though, while it may explain some of her behavior to a point it doesn't excuse it, and she owes her father an apology for her disrespect.

I recovered from anorexia without therapy, but it did take me awhile to get a normal relationship with food. We must keep in mind it may have been several months since Amelia filmed that scene, and she’s been struggling for awhile. I don’t think she means she was 100% cured overnight. 

I ignored people saying I had a problem until one day I looked up the symptoms, and they all applied to me. It was kind of my rock bottom moment. My health was horrible, and I realized I had a problem and needed to get better. I started eating bigger portions, more types of food, and got to a healthy weight. 

I still have body image issues, but sadly it’s not exactly uncommon for women. If anyone here is struggling with an eating disorder, I am proof you can get better! I highly encourage therapy even though I managed without it.
