When we stayed there last August, the wonderful cook was a woman who lives in town who used to work for a catering firm - not a relative.  I don't believe those who clean the house are relatives either.

At least that answers one question--since the help isn't a relative, I still wonder if she's paid even if there are no guests or if she gets paid only when called in to work? I think the B&B looks very nice--it's certainly not a 5-star luxury accommodation, but for a little weekend getaway-from-it-all, it looks clean and comfortable.

I'm just catching up on this episode. All through it, I wanted to say, "Shut UP, Robyn!"

Seriously, was she getting paid per syllable? Always interjecting. Like she is a polygamy expert even though she's been living it (as a wife) for about nine years and relishing in being the legal wife, the favourite wife, and the one that has Kody's cojones by her nightstand.

I miss hearing from Logan, but ironically, I admire him and Michelle distancing themselves from the show.

Instead of having daddy give his daughter away like chattel, many brides and grooms have both parents walk them down the aisle, though it gets complicated with divorces and parents who have never been supportive.

I've seen all sorts of different things. I was an "older" bride and my father died 20 years ago. My brother escorted my mom; then my stepdaughter walked by herself. I had decided that if my dad wasn't going to walk with me (which he would have LOVED), I didn't want anyone else to do it. I walked down the aisle by myself. I hate being the center of attention but it took about 15 seconds so it all worked out and I figured if a tween girl could do it, so could I.

I totally agree.  Robyn bugs the crap out of me.  "Shouda all been together from Day One" doesn't mean it happened that way.

Good for Logan & Michelle, to keep clear of the Family Circus.  Definitely respect-worthy.

Yes, they had originally started being part of this shit show - including various couch sessions.  I wonder if the reason they started to distance themselves was because they started getting negative feed back from people they knew or if it was something different.

I have no basis in fact (like most of my life😀) but I wonder if Kody didn't pitch a fit about them openly living together.  You know, we don't approve, we don't want that on the show, etc. - really just not wanting to hurt their "brand" of morality.  (Did Logan steal Michelle's "cookie" or is she a tramp who willingly gave it up?)  Especially since they went through the whole charade of separate rooms for Mariah and Audrey while they were living with Meri.  I wonder what the reaction is now that THEY are openly living together.  Maybe it's different with lesbians?  Technically, the "cookie" is still there.  (Aren't you all REALLY glad I brought that up?😈

I loathe when an "interviewer" gets interviewed themselves and gushes over the people they are supposed to be grilling.  Such an honor to interview them, she can feel how much they love each other, etc.

Exactly! Cue Elton John's "Can you Feel the Love Tonight,"

Meri was going to leave the family and be with another person, she had fallen in love with.  She and Kody haven't had sex in 4 years.

Meri and Janelle can't even ride in the same car together.

Meri and Christine are uncomfortable with each other.

One loving family!!!

For the first time in a long time, Christine annoyed me more than Robyn. Generally I think Christine is the least offensive of these idiots and seems like she cares about all the kids. However, this whole business of acting like their life is so perfect and just so darn fun is infuriating me! Has she been taking lessons from Robyn? Perhaps she’s signed up for robyn’s manipulation 101 class?

Things I would like to have heard from Christine:

1. How are her kids settling into flagstaff? Has her youngest made any friends?

2. She seems to be more involved in the other kids lives, has it been hard to be away from them?

3. Does she still have all the kids over for dinners etc.? (All I can think of is poor Savanah stuck with Janelle and missing Christine helping her get ready in the mornings before school).

4. Is she ready to admit that buying a house in Flagstaff wasn’t the best idea?

5. How are they handling Ysabel and her scoliosis?

They've mentioned Logan and Michelle living together in their THs.

I re-watched that clip the other day. Kody said it was "icky" or something to that effect. Janelle seemed more approving, saying that she loved to see the way Logan takes care of Michelle, but she also said she thought they should go ahead and just get married if they're going to be that committed. She said she told Logan that but he just didn't see it that way (obviously). Robyn interjected, of course, saying something about children making their own decisions.

I recently watched a show from a year or so ago where they played game night with teams and who-remembers-when/what/who type questions.  There was one about an April Fools joke on Mariah.  It may have been when Maddie & Aspyn were living together, but one of the future husbands was there and looked like he had just gotten out of bed.  Of course he may have slept on the couch 😉

I checked and Madison, Meri and Christine -- even Janelle! have over 100K instagram followers each. Mariah slightly less, about 86K. This puts them all in the realm of "influencers" which means they could each be deriving a sizable income from anything they promote. I don't see the moms promoting anything (other than Lularoe and Strive, which don't count), but Madison and Mariah definitely do promote products, clothes etc. Mykelti hasn't done much other than the nails and Lula -- but she has an astonishing 121K followers. She could be making bank on stuff like weight-loss products if she decided to lose weight as a thing. Aspyn has done some promoting - I think a health drink -- and she has 124K followers.

I suspect that Logan and Michelle are planning to pursue careers other than advertising and self-promotion. Plus the Tell-Zzzero took place during school (someone said it was filmed Feb 17) and although Mariah was in Flagstaff for it as we saw, Logan may be putting more of a priority on his studies. Just a guess!

PS Janelle did do that box thing that comes 4x a yr, I forget what it's called, and I'm sure she got paid well for it.

That was when maddie,

Mariah, hunter and Logan went to Utah to visit family.

(They were all living at home at that point)

There wasn't anyone else in those scenes(especially a future husband)

If Robyn was a loving, giving christian sister-wife she should offer to divorce Kody and let him marry Christine because it sounds like it is something she really wants.

Especially now that her kids have the legal Brown name which supposedly was the whole point of the divorce from Meri.  I'd love to see a Q&A with Robyn's ex and hear his side of the whole adoption story.

I'll vote for that.  I especially want to know why he was the one that filed for divorce.

I'd also watch a tell-all that spilled on why Janelle & Meri's brother Adam got married, then divorced.  Was Janelle secretly seeing Kootie on the side?  Did Janelle think that Meri deserved payback because Adam was a nightmare husband?

We aren't privy to all that is truthful.  What they claim is reality?  Don't think so.

Most likely won’t ever happen...He’s apparently so NOT a famewhore that he lives off the grid in Montana, has no social media whatsoever and has not agreed to any interviews since the show started.  Pretty sure he’s been offered a few centavos, too, but that’s just conjecture on my part.

Fun facts:

His name is David Preston Jessop.  “Day-uhn”, his biological son, was named after him. The “Day-uhn” part is a nickname combining the Day from David and uhn from the ton in Preston.

He is related to several of the ‘Sister Wives’ cast, besides his own bio kids.

* 1st cousin & 2nd cousin of Christine Brown [1st cousin through Christine’s father Rex Allred, a half-brother of David’s mother Mary Diane Allred; 2nd cousin through Christine’s step-grandmother Ethel Jessop, a sister of David’s father Louis LaMar Jessop]

* 2nd cousin of Mindy’s (live-in Nanny for Robyn, billed as her step-niece).

* 1st cousin of Meri’s “other mothers” Shirley & Judy

* 3rd cousin of Kody Brown

cue: Sly & The Family Stone.   It’s a family affffffaaaaaaiiirrr....

I do my family genealogy for fun too.  It’s interesting because my moms people on both sides “originated” on an island off the coast of Virginia-there’s plenty of overlap in the family, but nothing near the Brown’s  various  connections.

I vote for a genealogy episode where they all detail how they are interconnected...nah, the fans wouldn’t like it, never mind.

Right?

However, every single one of the wives knew beforehand how they were already related to Kody...or each other, for that matter so why not just own it?

Plus, Madison & Aspyn knew of the family ties to their respective husbands well before they married them.  Mykelti, Mariah and Logan actually went outside of the family tree.

Why are these people so uneducated?  It's the first thing you learn in biology class, genes and how they do and do not work.

Don't forget--Kody was the one who told (Mykelti or Meriah, I think) That she and the boy she was dating shouldn's kiss because their hormones will swirl around in each other's mouths and lead to lust and such.  I still laugh when I think of that. sad non-scientific or factual explanation.

This is the first season I’ve watched, but does the season always end with no resolution? They showed them moving, but just left it hanging about the mega house plan. Is that supposed to be the cliffhanger for the next season? If so, why didn’t the interviewer ask the wives anything about it during the tell all?

After suffering through a season (and fast forwarding anything that didn’t relate to the move), I don’t know how anyone can watch this show except for snark value. It’s so boring and they talk about the same thing repeatedly.

They usually end the season with some kind of a teaser such as upcoming weddings but then, greed overtakes them and they sell the story to People Magazine and so 6 months before the new season airs, every little detail has been published and photographed.

Never before have they left the viewing public flapping in the wind as they did this season.  They must be very cocksure that there will be another season and that the viewers are fascinated enough with them that we will tune in.  We know that by the time the tell-all was filmed, the mega house plan would have been presented and it was almost insulting to fill 2 hours with flash-backs of prior seasons and the moderator fawning over them.

I only watch for snark value or come here for the snark before I decide to watch or delete it from my DVR. The talking about the same thing repeatedly has increased this year, so now there is only ~10 minutes of newer material per episode, really pathetic.  That's why I DVR it so I can FF through the boring bits.

The odds are out there that someone somewhere along the line will choose polygamy, but it's just been too crazy, the way the Browns do it, to be attractive to anyone that's had to grow up in it.

I figure the kids have come through the adult Brown's miscommunication fiascos quite well, and that is largely thanks to having each other to vent to. When Mariah stated she is not religious, I finally accepted that the kids are okay. No one has disowned her (as many other religions would expect) so the future looks bright for the Brown children.

Regardless of whether Kody's right about the mouth hormones, the whole kissing talk is stupid.

I usually enjoy snarking on the Browns themselves, but I think that interviewer deservees most of the snark after that Tell-Nothing.  The most hard-hitting question she asked the whole time was to Mariah about the catfishing. I don't care much for Mariah, but she doesn't deserve to be pestered about her mother's past mistakes over and over and over again. And nobody cares anymore anyway.

RECAP is in the spoiler box.  Big, giant, polygamist-family-sized thanks to everyone else who shared their writing skills with us and recapped this season!

Spoiler

Thanks to all you witty folks I just read your comments on Part I and didn't actually watch.  Now it's time for me to pay the piper.  I see from the previouslies that they already discussed Meri's purchase of the B&B but apparently it must be rehashed.  Kody proclaims he's focused on the big pitcher and the B&B was just an irritation to him.  "So are you good with me?" asks Meri.  Kody's fear was that she was going to leave to go to Parowan, but since she's in Flagstaff with his other possessions he's ok.  This is Meri's first time understanding that the family was afraid she'd take off.  Um, has she watched the show because that's only been mentioned about a bajillion times?  "Well, I also thought it was a bad investment!" laughs Kody.  The hostess thinks it's neat that they're still "coming to clarity" on the issue.  Hi honey, you're new here so let me explain two things.  1.  The Browns must protect their happy plyg family facade at all costs, or else you and the makeup team and all these lights and cameras go poof.  2.  They're lying liars who lie.  Kody points out that they've actually discussed this before, and Robyn chimes in to agree that they asked Meri about her plans a bajillion times.  Kody wants to put the issue to bed by declaring that he's glad the bad investment is in the family and he's glad Meri is in Flagstaff.

And now we have to revisit through extensive flashbacks Christine and Meri's tension after Axel's birth.  Christine hates watching the conversation.  That makes two of us!  She says that she and Meri are still working on things.  Meri is asked for her input and she gives a rambling non-answer full of "like" and "fill."  She thinks her biggest personality fault is that if she doesn't fill all in with something, then she's all out.  The hostess says something about who better to understand than your own sister wife.  The wives all make noises of agreement, including the one who's touching Kody's leg.  And speaking of whom, Robyn says that watching these conversations makes her uncomfortable because they're none of her business.  The hostess asks about the balance of speaking your mind without rocking the group boat.  Robyn wishes she could teach this to people, because she hates seeing those messages online when people tell Meri or whoever to break free.  They are a family and they all choose to be a group because it, "serves their purposes," i.e. keeps them on tv and in the money.

After a break we're treated to clips of every time polygamy was discussed in the past season, concluding with Mitch's wishy-washyness.  Consensus seems to be that Aspyn will be more open to polygamy when she's not a dewy eyed newlywed.  Kody abruptly changes lanes to announce he never chased a girl.  Robyn tells us that the wife has to be the instigator for bringing a new sister wife in the family.  When the man does it, it's creepy.  She tells us that the men who are "searchers" are actually avoided by the single women in their church.  This sounds very complicated to the hostess who jokingly asks if there's a class to learn all these nuances.  The Browns are learning by doing and don't actually recommend polygamy to others.  Conversation turns to Janelle's comment about the first 20 years of polygamy sucking.  She says that she takes it day by day and it's a constant learning process.

Christine is now asked about her strong reaction to seeing Aspyn's marriage certificate, and what it means to her.  She answers that she just likes the validation of being married after years of having to hide her relationship.  When Robyn is asked, she doesn't even know where she keeps her certificate because it doesn't matter.  The hostess now asks what divorce documents mean to them.  To Meri it feels like a label of a failure, even though that's not the situation in their family.  "Your divorce means you love my kids," says Robyn getting teary.  Excuse me, I need to go find a stronger drink.

The partnered kids (sans Logan and Michelle) are now assembled on the couches, and let's just say that none of them have been missing any meals.  The hostess asks Maddie and Caleb about having the family move away from them in Vegas.  Maddie answers that she and Caleb don't like Vegas either, so once the family left they wanted to leave, too.  Aspyn is the only one who answers positively when the kids are asked if Vegas ever felt like home.  We're treated to clips of Aspyn "taking control" throughout the season.  Mitch is asked about being in a family now with so many vocal women, and he says it's not a problem.  Tony thinks it's refreshing.  Caleb also thinks the strong female voices are awesome.  Mariah is now asked about the catfishing *groan* and we re-watch all of those clips from the season.  Mariah says that things between her and Meri are hard but not horrible and they have a good relationship.  Uh, ok.  Mariah also says that meeting Meri's fellow victim didn't do much for her.

Now we watch all the clips of Mariah's "big year."  Does Audrey really have a tattoo that says, "Intersectional Feminist"?  Methinks that's not going to age well.  Mariah now announces that she and Audrey are engaged, and that the proposal happened at the women's march.  The hostess asks if there's conflict between the religious family views and Mariah and Audrey's relationship.  Short answer is no.  The hostess now asks Tony and Mykelti when the babies are coming.  Well, Tony looks ready to drop twins at any minute.  Mykelti insists that they're happy dog parents right now and actual kids are several years away.  When asked about her status, Aspyn tells us that she's finishing school in Vegas and then she and Mitch will be moving to Utah to be closer to his family.  The Brown-Brushes are also moving.  They'll be heading to North Carolina and are expecting their second child.  (Chassis Brown-Brush! You heard it here first!)

The adults are back on the couch and the producers are going out with a bang - a clip of every time the Browns used therapy buzzwords in conversation during the season.  I'm filling unsafe.  My perception is that it's time to put up my walls and empower myself to employ the FF button.  The hostess thinks they've really learned a lot from Therapist Nancy.  "Nancy doesn't train us with language," says Kody, and I'm now picturing her using a clicker and a Beggin' Strip instead.  Robyn sings the praises of Nancy.  Meri says that they all know how to speak in a therapy-approved manner, it's just a question of making themselves have those hard conversations.  In addition to the complication of being such a large family, Christine feels vulnerable seeing herself on old episodes, when she was, "misbehaving."  That seems like a loaded word, but rather than unpack it the hostess introduces a montage of Kody's dance moves.  I kid you not.  Cover your eyes, folks, this is more dangerous than Bird Box.  The hostess asks who is the best dancer in the Brown family, and Christine instantly answers, "Kody."  Janelle calls her a brown-noser.  Kody gets up and mimics Christine's one signature dance move.  And that's it.  Don't we all feel enlightened?

My DVR also recorded a Game Night episode, but I'm sorry, folks, I just can't do it.  I watched that crap last year.  Fool me once, shame on me...

I would not put it past Cody to be pushing for a sons wedding to entice a new season, probably why Logan & Michele are staying away - we have already mustered through 3 Brown girls nuptials of camouflage, taco & Loch Ness themed weddings. I don't think I could stand Mor-I-ah's avocado toast hors devours and yoga posed wedding where they dress up their "ASA' dogs in mini tux's.  barf

RECAP is in the spoiler box.  Big, giant, polygamist-family-sized thanks to everyone else who shared their writing skills with us and recapped this season!

  Hide contents

@LilWharveyGal excellent as always. If I decide to begin a blog similar to PoliticsPrinciple and the Sister Wives Blog (I keep mentioning how I'm considering it), I'll ask you to do the recaps. I definitely don't have your wit when it comes o recapping this circus!

And I highly doubt that Logan would cave in if Kody pushed for it. I've heard that Logan and Michelle don't want to have their wedding televised, and they want to wait until they finish school to get married. As far as we know, they are both working to obtain their Masters'. Who knows, they both may look to go for a PhD!

ETA: Also, Michelle and Logan not only seem to be staying away when it comes to the show, but they don't seem to be the Social Media "Influencers" like some of the other Brown children. Logan hasn't been active on Twitter and his Instagram page seems to be defunct, while Michelle's tweets are protected.

They seem to be laying low. If that's the case, then good on them. Again, I feel so ionic for typing this.
