S09.E03: Sun and Shade in the Bahamas

On a private island in the Bahamas, newcomer Denise quickly discovers that fun in the sun, sand, and surf comes with plenty of conflict for the rest of the women. Lisa Rinna suspects Kyle and Teddi were used in a scheme to exact revenge on Dorit. Meanwhile, Ericka is stunned when Lisa Vanderpump questions her motives, and resents being portrayed as “the bad guy.”

I understand totally Lisa V's point to Kyle while they were out on the patio - while arguments and disagreements with family seem so important at the time - when your sibling dies, those things aren't at all important any longer.  I really felt for Lisa in that moment and all Kyle does is look at her blankly.  Kyle probably just took it as criticism (and we all know how well Kyle takes criticism) but I think Lisa just meant it as a revelation having just gone through that experience herself.

Yes, LVP is giving Dorit the business when they are together. But she's not the one keeping the conversation going among the rest of the women.

Oh, yes, here comes Rinna insisting the whole situation (Kyle and Teddi having info) was set up by LVP so she could sit on the sidelines and claim to know nothing. Guess John's big mouth had nothing to do with it. Shut up, Rinna, you weren't even there.

For someone who apparently knew nothing of the Dorit/puppy story, Rinna certainly came prepared to the breakfast with Kyle and Teddi - it took her about 2 seconds to claim that Kyle and Teddi were being manipulated by Vanderpump and it took them no time at all to believe her.  Isn't that similar to what happened between Eileen and Rinna - Eileen told Rinna she was being manipulated by Vanderpump and Rinna was happy to believe it?  In the big picture, I don't like Rinna, didn't like Eileen and can't stand Dorit.  I also hate what a fair-weather friend Kyle is, seemingly Teddi too.

I love LVP, but calling someone out because their sympathy note wasn’t enough? What the hell is that?  My mother died two years ago and I was disappointed that my closest friends didn’t send a card or note.  But I DID NOT tell them that! Some folks don’t know how to deal with that situation or what to say.  Erika sent a perfectly lovely note, Lisa would have kept her mouth shut.

While Lisa V shouldn't have mentioned Erica's note, because it just feeds into Erica's issues with Vanderpump,  she explained herself - she thought they were closer than that and was comparing the note (which was perfectly fine) with what the other women had done.  When there is such a catastrophic event in someone's life, one doesn't think rationally but emotionally.  I get it.  Rinna always sounds like she is emotionally supportive but she's really just not - with Vanderpump anyway.

Ugh. The return of the "Glam Squad" - and Erika's 70" hair. Did she really allude to a man having a 70" "something" - yeah, okay Erika. Okay. 

Rinna isn't necessarily wrong with how she pointed out Lisa discussing Lucy with Kyle and Teddie, as round about way to get at Dorit. I am NOT a Rinna fan whatsoever, and dare I say she's guilty of her own chess games, but - she isn't wrong.

I thought Erika's condolence note was generic - not exactly the "from the heart" sincerity she tried to say it was, BUT... uber petty of LVP to bring it up or to be offended by it. They aren't close. Erika is cold. Why would LVP even bring it up. Oy. I did find it odd that Erika had a photo of it - but her explanation as to why she had it isn't that odd. But it is kind of sad and unfortunate. 
 

ETA - I am REALLY liking Denise on this show. I hope she stays in the light and doesn't go dark. Refreshing.

In typical LVP fashion - they're (her and Ken) going for the person lowest on the totem pole to redirect the heat. But this time from the rumors out ther e- it clearly doesn't work. Ultimately it comes down to LVP holding a grudge and not being direct with Dorit - and not.letting. it. go.
