CofCinci June 9, 2014 Share June 9, 2014 (edited) Finished binge watching. What do you think will happen next season? What would you like to see? I want Taystee and Poussey to have light moments again. Edited June 9, 2014 by CofCinci Link to comment
kitcloudkicker June 10, 2014 Share June 10, 2014 I'm going to go ahead and predict Caputo is out as the one in charge (with the everyone escaping on his watch and all), which sets up a new assistant warden to be a main antagonist for the season. 1 Link to comment
Magpi June 10, 2014 Share June 10, 2014 I would like to see Lori Petty again next season. 5 Link to comment
Agent Dark June 10, 2014 Share June 10, 2014 Pensatucky being on board with the Lesbian Agenda should be hilarious now that Alex is going to back (I assume) in the picture. Link to comment
Brn2bwild June 11, 2014 Share June 11, 2014 I'm not usually the character matchmaker type, but I'd love it if two of my favorite characters, Nicky and Poussey, hooked up. They're both so smart and might be good for each other. I'm not sure why they haven't already, unless the "tribes" element is so strong that they never go outside of their own race. 3 Link to comment
bravelittletoaster June 11, 2014 Share June 11, 2014 I need more Piper and Alex in season 3, and I'm reasonably certain I'm getting it, so I'm relieved. This was still a really well done show this season, and I was engaged, but not nearly as much so without their roller coaster. Everyone else is great too [loved what they did with Nicky this season], but I need more of those two front and center. Prepon's absence kind of threw me off a bit, glad she's going to be a regular again next year. 3 Link to comment
Dusty June 11, 2014 Share June 11, 2014 I have no idea where they're going to go with everyone else's storyline but Nicky's? I have an idea and I worry for that girl. She may be able to give good advice but she's not the best decision maker in her own life. JUST SAY NO NICKY! JUST SAY NO! 3 Link to comment
bravelittletoaster June 11, 2014 Share June 11, 2014 Yeah, I was so relieved when she handed that baggie over to Red. But then that look of longing we left her with as she stared into the grate....If they get Natasha back [and someone in another thread said her NBC pilot was not picked up], I assume that will be a major thread. I'll be curious to see what happens too if Alex finds out there's a big stash of heroin in there. She's said on several occasions moving heroin is her one true talent... On another note: I'd love a Norma backstory in season 3. Also curious to know what people think in re: Pornstache? Have we seen the end of him? 2 Link to comment
Mya Stone June 11, 2014 Share June 11, 2014 Also curious to know what people think in re: Pornstache? Have we seen the end of him? HBO ordered a series order for The Brink, which he is in, so I don't know about his availability. I think they left it open-ended again - I wouldn't be surprised if we never saw him again, but on the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if we did see him as the thorn in the Bennett/Daya romance. I definitely don't think we'll ever see him as a guard again, and that makes me sad. I don't know why I love him so much, but I do. He just tickled my funny bone. (Of course, if I were ever in prison, I would despise him.) 1 Link to comment
bravelittletoaster June 11, 2014 Share June 11, 2014 Yeah, I thought he was a great "love to hate" character, and I really dug his pimp walk down the hallway at the beginning of episode 9. He's a pretty great villain. At the end of the day, he was a more entertaining one than Vee for me, personally, though she served her purpose. 2 Link to comment
heckkitty June 12, 2014 Share June 12, 2014 I'm really worried about what will go on with Nicky in Season 3. That girl knowing where there's a huge stash of smack is not good. I'm also fretty about Suzanne. I didn't really like what happened with her this season, but it really wasn't her fault - she is mentally ill and was taken advantage of by a pro. I think she really cracked in the finale though; I hope she can come back from that. She's really such a sad character, she's smart as heck, but also very, very ill. On the lighter side, whoever mentioned that Poussey and Nicky should hook up is a friggin genius. I'd love to see that, although I don't know that Nicky takes relationships seriously enough for Poussey. Nicky's more of a casual sex sort of girl, I think, and I'd love to see Poussey with someone who reciprocates her feelings without being stuck staying in Germany, for once. 1 Link to comment
AmyTinaMindy June 12, 2014 Share June 12, 2014 I hope next season brings more Taystee/Poussey light heartedness and comedy since I think that's what made them such fan favorites anyway. It was good to get to know their characters more, as well as see what amazing acting chops they each have, but I think a big part missing from this season was their amusing friendship which offset the drama going on around them. I definitely want to see Taystee redeemed/make amends since (as Danielle has said in interviews) she made some choices we didn't expect her to make-I think when Danielle says this she means giving Nicky the heroin. Also, Taystee and Poussey barely did any Amanda and Mckenzie, so I definitely want to see more of that :) Also, I want to see more of Flaca and Maritza; I know Daya is a regular, but I always enjoy when those two are on screen. 2 Link to comment

They're both so smart and might be good for each other. I'm not sure why they haven't already, unless the "tribes" element is so strong that they never go outside of their own race. The big problem there (and I say this as a straight man with a lesbian sister-in-law who's the "ask me anything" type): both characters are butch. Butches don't usually get together romantically, just as femmes usually don't. As always in matters of the heart, there are exceptions. I want Larry to be gone. I think he has outlived his usefulness and his storyline with Piper came to a natural conclusion at the end of season two. It doesn't make much sense to keep him on the show as a series regular. They should rather sign on one of the more important recurring characters (Poussey, Lorna) as series regulars. Agreed. The Larry storyline is boring and there's no point in continuing it if he and Piper are not involved. 1 Link to comment
Olive June 15, 2014 Share June 15, 2014 I want to see Suzanne redeemed in the worst way. I am on the verge of not liking her because of the dark turn she took this season, though I think I can forgive her (haha!) if they do it right. Someone in another thread said that they could see Daya falling for Pornstache because he manned up in the way she wanted Bennet to, and I wouldn't mind seeing that. Anything to bring some excitement to the Daya/Bennet story, which is boring me to death. Link to comment
badreputation June 15, 2014 Share June 15, 2014 Red needs to get her mojo back in Season 3. She was outdone this season by Vee, Gloria, and the Golden Girls, and I want to see Red showcasing some real mettle and intelligence so to remind everyone why she is not one to be trifled with. MandolinMagi June 16, 2014 Share June 16, 2014 I'd like to see a couple thing in Season 3: 1. More Tasty/Poussey. 2. Piper needs to take a role in prison politics. This season, the blacks, whites, and hispanics were all feuding, both Tribe vs. Tribe and Tribe vs. Itself. Meanwhile, Piper ran around playing reporter. She's the main character and bunkies with Red, who's the White leader. She should be involved. 3. Another Scared Straight visit. Mostly because I want Piper to get another "why you don't want to go to prison" speech like last time. She wasn't even supposed to be helping, but she was the only person to take it seriously. 4. More Nicky. She's a hilarious troll, and I like her. Just please don't have her start doing heroin again. 1 Link to comment
bravelittletoaster June 16, 2014 Share June 16, 2014 I think worrying about Nicky is going to be the thread with which I'm most preoccupied going into season 3. I'm also concerned that Alex is going to deal that heroin. They might want a source of tension between her and Piper that lasts longer than "you turned me in." Given this season's Vauseman flashbacks seemed designed at least in part to establish how pussy whipped Alex was early on, I don't think she'll actually hold that grudge for long. Link to comment
questionfear June 16, 2014 Share June 16, 2014 I wonder/hope that there is a riot next season. It would flow well to have the guards have all this riot gear, have us all expecting it this season, and then BAM, it turns out to be significant halfway through next season out of nowhere. Sort of like how there were hints about Morello's fiance not being quite right but the reality snuck up on us. Link to comment

Knittzu June 16, 2014 Share June 16, 2014 1) I want Larry gone. I can't stand the character or the actor. The story has moved past Piper/Larry and I resent him taking screen time from characters who actually matter. 2) More Piper/Alex. That's what I signed up to watch, so. 3) Please, no more season-long Vee-style villains. I didn't enjoy that story nearly enough to justify all the time it sucked up or all the damage it did to characters I loved. 4) I wouldn't mind the end of Daya/Bennet, either. I'm nearly as creeped out by them as I was with the student/teacher in Pretty Little Liars. 5) I missed the humor of season one and would like more of that, please. I thought this season got too dark and not in especially interesting ways. 6) More Poussey. She was the bright spot in a lot of "eh" episodes this season. 7) A storyline for Sophia, please. It seemed like she was hardly there in season two. 8 Link to comment

I'm one of those femmes who mostly just likes femmes. And look at Alex and Piper--both of them present very feminine in their dress and makeup. Also, here in the Midwest, especially in rural areas (and I believe this is true in the South as well), at least 30% of the lesbian couples I see are 2 butch women. 2) Nicky is not that butch; I'd put her somewhere near the middle. (For one thing, she makes an effort to wear eyeliner and mascara in prison.) She's definitely a top (is more dominant, likes to be the pursuer/aggressor), but that doesn't always equal butch. Alex is 100% a top and she's very feminine-looking. I'd say the real roadblock for them getting together is that Nicky appears to be mostly interested in casual sex and Poussey seems to be interested in something more serious, although we only have knowledge of Poussey's love life outside of prison and we only saw one example. ETA: No disrespect meant to @Sir RaiderDuck OMS or his sister-in-law, but I wanted to offer another POV, based on my lived experience, my observations in my area, and my take on the show. My wife and I are both andro/tomboy and both get called sir a lot. So I know that sometimes even butch/femme does not describe a lesbian. It does make much more sense to go with Top/Bottom when talking about sexual compatibility. Even then you still have switch hitters. 4 Link to comment

millennium June 17, 2014 Share June 17, 2014 Every now and then I hear someone say that the show doesn't need Piper, that it can go on without her. I disagree. Personally, I think this season suffered because the writers backed away from Piper and put her character on equal footing with other inmates. I hope the show refocuses on Piper. And Alex, by association. Somebody in one of these threads hit the nail on the head when they compared Piper to Joel Fleischmann of Northern Exposure. Piper was our ticket in to Litchfield, just as Joel was the reason we tagged along to Cicely, Alaska. Remember what happened when Joel left the show? The show continued and the other characters went about their lives ... but it wasn't as much fun anymore. Primary characters like Joel and Piper function as our surrogates. They go places we can't. They personalize it for us. Would Wonderland be as interesting without Alice? Oz without Dorothy? River Monsters without Jeremy Wade? Larry and Polly were huge time sucks this season, Larry especially. As far as I could tell, his presence in the show this season was just one long set-up for Piper's clever moon metaphor. Though I am glad somebody finally socked him in the jaw. Hope that's the last we see of those two. I could do without Piper's brother too; it's a plotline without an apparent purpose. Soso brought nothing, hope she gets paroled by next season. It would be nice if Crazy Eyes were pushed into the background to give other characters a chance to shine (somehow I doubt this will happen). Let this also be the end of the Dayas of Our Lives soap opera. I enjoyed the Miss Rosa arc this season. I couldn't care less if the Old Rosa actress's bone structure or accent differed from the Young Rosa actress. The storyline was very human. There was no cheap bid for last-minute redemption, no Hail Mary remission. Rosa wasn't made out to be innocent or wronged .. but she was noble. And that's what she took with her in the end, her nobility. P.S. I watch with the captions/subtitles on, and in the final scene, after she hits Vee and the prison jeep fades down the highway and you hear Miss Rosa laughing, this final caption came on the screen: "Miss Rosa: More cow bell." 2 Link to comment

Humor from Taystee and Poussey. (Taystee and drama do not mix well for me) No Vee like villain that hijacks the season and several characters' story lines. (LT was great...but I look back and feel like we were watching her show) More Flaca and Maritza. Those two are hysterical. Nicky. Just keep giving her those one liners and let her keep giving advice. I don't need to see her in a relationship with anyone. I can handle small doses of Pennsatucky. (small doses) Less Larry. No Larry. But please less Daya and Bennet. Their storyline bores me the most. ElderPrice June 22, 2014 Share June 22, 2014 What I really, really want is for Piper's roots to grow in. Doesn't Sophia dye people's hair, like Red? My wish list: 1. Less focus on race. It won't be eliminated completely, and it's intrinsic to the dynamics of the characters, but at times this season it was just a little much. 2. Less focus on Taystee, Cindy, Bennett, Daya, Larry, and Polly. They've had their time to shine and most didn't do a whole lot with it. 3. More back story on Nicky, Yoga Jones, the silent woman, Poussey (I loved the German parts but we never got to see her slide into crime), and Sophia. 4. More Sophia in general, she was really sidelined this season. 5. More Piper and Alex. 6. No Pornstache. Too cartoonish. 7. No Nicky relapse storyline. Addiction stories are pretty tiresome on TV for me - they're all essentially identical and there don't seem to be fresh things to say about them anymore. 1 Link to comment
OrangeCrush June 22, 2014 Share June 22, 2014 My wish for season three is that the writers return to the formula that worked so well in season one. This means Piper being the central figure from which the rest of the stories radiate. Sure Jenji wants to use Piper as her Trojan horse but damn the rest of the stories with out a lot of Piper really don't interest me all that much. So I want more Piper in season 3 and of course more Alex. They can sprinkle in the rest of the cast and tell their stories too but I really want to see Piper and Alex begin a dialogue on how to move forward if that is what the end game is going to be. They have to stop screwing over each other. Piper has done a lot of soul searching and is beginning to come to terms with who she is but still has some more growing and self examination to complete. Alex hasn't done any and reality if she doesn't begin to change really isn't the person I want in Piper's end game. Alex will just shit on Piper again and again if she doesn't begin to take responsibility for her action. 4 Link to comment
DearEvette June 25, 2014 Share June 25, 2014 I want S3 to fall somewhere between S1 and S2. I like the use of a the single story arc of S2 that seemed to work as an umbrella for season. Not one single inmate was unaffected by Vee, but there were still a lot of interesting side stories going on too. I like that structure and would like to see something like it again in S3. But I also liked the lighter tone and the humor of S1 and the exploration of the more constructive relationships, not the destructive ones from S2. - Less Daya and Bennet. Or really how about NO Daya & Bennett. I can't express how awful their storyline is to me. - Lose Larry. Really what is his point now? - Pepper in a few more scenes showing inmates who may not normally interact. I loved the revealing little convos b/t Suzanne/Morello and Nicky/Poussey and Big Boo/Pennsatucky. - Honestly did not miss Alex. I don't mind her return, but please don't let her swallow the season. Somehow I don't think Prepon could carry it like Toussaint did. - I liked the level of insight we got into the individual guards. I hope they continue it. Not too much, but just enough to get to know them a little more. - I would love a competent Assistant Warden to come in and really shake the place up. It was necessary to have the neglect of Fig and the turmoil of Caputo make them so incompetent so that Vee & Red's smuggling ops could thrive. But it would be ineresting to see what happens when someone good actually runs the place. - The slow leeching of Soso's idealism. - More interesting revelations re: favorites and more surprises re: minor/tangential characters. The scenes of family visits is always an interesting way to set up intriguing little bits about the characters. 3 Link to comment
Chaos Theory June 28, 2014 Share June 28, 2014 (edited) More Big Boo (I want her back story) Less Bennett and Daya. I don't mind Larry but less is more with him. Mattipoo June 29, 2014 Share June 29, 2014 My wish list for season 3: 1) Poussey and Taystee become best friends again and bring the comic relief. 2) Backstory of Soso, Big Boo and Red's 2 accomplices (forgot their names, but they are the skinny one who got burnt and the silent older lady). 3) Much more Crazy Eyes and Sophia. 4) Fig is imprisoned for fraud and returns as a prisoner. 5) Alex and Chapman finally get back together for good. 6) Jason Biggs gone. 7) Big Boo and Pennsatucky hook up. 8) More Nicky. OrangeCrush July 1, 2014 Share July 1, 2014 Noticed something on Imdb. Piper and Alex are scheduled to both be is all 13 ep.s in s3. Does anyone think that Jenji has seen the writing on the wall and wants to focus on Alex and Piper in S3. Wow, that can be really complex. Let's say that Alex doesn't know Piper was behind her getting violated. Nicky thinks Alex is a creep for stabbing Piper in the back in Chicago. Piper knows she was behind Alex gettin reing incarcerated. Does Piper play her cards close to the vest and act like she knows nothing or does Alex get it out of her? Are they at odds most of the season trying to hurt each other or has Piper really grown/Alex not so much and Piper becomes the adult. Wow, there are just so many avenues the writers can take in S3. I can not wait. I know Jenji plans to focus on guard in S3 but I would lay money they ribbon through out the season that acts as the glue will be Piper and Alex. I want to see Vausemen grow and become a real adult couple in a healthy relationship . Shit they have several years to work on this relatioship, just hope Jenji doesn't fuck it up int the mid term. 1 Link to comment
mledawn July 2, 2014 Share July 2, 2014 Does Piper play her cards close to the vest and act like she knows nothing or does Alex get it out of her? I would say Alex gets it out of her - Alex is much better at manipulating and wheedling Piper into getting what she [Alex] wants. Piper has learned a lot in prison, but I still think Alex has the upper hand. I would love it if Piper was able to keep her secret for a while, though - she's due for some power. I can see Polly or Larry screwing her over and "accidentally" let the cat out of the bag... I want to see Vausemen grow and become a real adult couple in a healthy relationship I just can't see this happening. First, because the characters as written show no signs of being able to do this. From the moment they met, their relationship has revolved around some kind of deception. But also because it doesn't make for good television to have the main characters living happy, healthy lives. I think the drama between Alex and Piper is a big draw and they'll not want to resolve that for a while, if at all. Link to comment
xander874 July 2, 2014 Share July 2, 2014 I definitely want flashbacks from some of the characters we haven't gotten before, especially Boo. But also Norma, SoSo, burnt girl and the 2 meth heads (sorry I'm bad with names). More Sophia. I could do without anymore flashbacks about Piper and Alex's relationship, but I'm sure we'll get at least one. And Larry can go away. I like Jason Biggs and even liked the Polly storyline, but it just felt so disconnected from the rest of the show (especially with Piper being relegated to the sidelines of the main action). 1 Link to comment
bravelittletoaster July 2, 2014 Share July 2, 2014 I think/hope Piper will be more central again next year, but it really felt like Larry was being written out at the end of the season. Maybe he'll still show up occasionally in a recurring capacity, but I don't think he'll get his own storyline next year. 2 Link to comment
SaabStory July 2, 2014 Share July 2, 2014 I kinda hope Polly sticks around for a few scenes. I find most of her comments and responses very funny. I really enjoy the scenes between Piper and Polly. 4 Link to comment
bravelittletoaster July 3, 2014 Share July 3, 2014 Yeah, the woman who plays Polly has great timing/delivery. I hope they find a way to use her occasionally, too. Link to comment
CleoCaesar July 3, 2014 Share July 3, 2014 4) Fig is imprisoned for fraud and returns as a prisoner. I'd kill for this to happen. Fig didn't get any real comeuppance from her evil deeds (the cheating gay husband doesn't count). I'd love to see our girls make Fig's life a living hell in the miserable prison she created. Wow, there are just so many avenues the writers can take in S3. I can not wait. I know Jenji plans to focus on guard in S3 but I would lay money they ribbon through out the season that acts as the glue will be Piper and Alex. From your lips to Jenji's ears. (Err, fingertips to eyes?) Piper/Alex is such a central part of the show that to me season 2 felt incomplete without it. They're a sexy, fucked-up powder keg, to quote a TWoP poster. I'd take Vauseman stories over the guards' backstories any day. 3 Link to comment
bravelittletoaster July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 (edited) I think she was tilting at windmills when she made that comment about maybe by season 4 exploring guards' back stories at Paleyfest. I wouldn't put too much stock in it, though I liked the little extra we got of them this year. O'Neill and Wanda Bell were great comic relief, I thought, and like to see them used in the same capacity next season. Edited July 4, 2014 by bravelittletoaster Link to comment
CleoCaesar July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 Another wish for season 3: more O'Neill songs about hating nuns, his parents' divorce, or life in general. 3 Link to comment
eXiled July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 - At first I was resistant to the obvious set up of Fig becoming an inmate, but the more I think about it, the more I think I'd love it. She is so getting her ass kicked. Or licked. - I didn't enjoy Healy's softening. I didn't buy it either. I'd like him to go back to unraveling. He's better as the delusional, lesbian-hating, buyer-of-women loser he truly is. - I want Daya and Bennett's secret to be revealed so that Daya can be shipped to another prison not on my TV screen. Bennett can be fired or relegated to background guard who rarely speaks. I'm good either way. - I want Piper in perpetual meltdown mode as she selfishly gets her fill of Alex (while attempting to keep her duplicity under wraps), jealous about Polly and Larry, despite not really wanting Larry. I want Parry to marry and have another tyke. It would drive Piper nuts. Also, strangely, I still want Polly to remain Piper's best friend. Yeah, she's shitty, but so is Pipes. Besides, I really like Polly's self awareness. She realized that she deserved her gift of dogshit Also, she helped Piper set up Alex. - Another poster mentioned being interested in seeing Nicky and Poussey get something going. I wouldn't mind seeing a cross-racial love affair and some of the intricacies, problems, and comedy that would open up. Morello's oh-gee-whiz innocence would give way to her casual racism and Taystee might not like seeing Poussey in love, even though Taystee doesn't want to pursue a sexual relationship with her friend. - Boo and Pennsatucky need to happen. It'll be compelling and weird and totally fun. I also would like to see more of Boo as a person and not as only comic relief or a foil. - I want to see Nicky fight to stay clean. One of the most haunting images of the last ep is Nicky eyeballing the heroin like it was the most beautiful woman in the world. - I want to learn more about Yoga Jones, Norma, Flacka, and others. 2 Link to comment
