What kind of hold does he have on her. Is he calling the shots?

He holds the purse strings, she's accustomed to a certain life and probably feels entitled to continue it.

NY Post is reporting Cosby's wife wants a PR push that the women had consented to being drugged.  I mean, there best defense is Cosby was just a light necrophiliac?  Maybe Whoopi will repeat that nonsense.

Somnophilia.

I think Cosby drugged the women to have the ultimate control. Sure, he could have almost anyone he wanted and I'm sure young starlets wanted to sleep with him but this way he could have sex with whomever he wanted whether they wanted to or not. He was above consent in his mind and the lowest form of a man in mine. I don't know this man Judd that wants to confront Whoopi on Thursday but I hope he gives her hell. For Whoopi to perpetuate Cosby's innocence in this disgusting matter makes her as bad as he is.

From today's The New York Post ( so take the quotes from unnamed sources with a grain of salt) :

“It’s advisable that you close ranks. That means [cut off] family, Hollywood family, friends, Hollywood friends,” the star was told, according to the business partner.

Camille Cosby remains on Bill’s side, despite his constant cheating.

She “stopped being embarrassed long ago” by her husband’s affairs, the family source said, but cannot tolerate the “invasion of privacy.”

The infidelities were “personal, between Bill and I,” she’s told her circle, the source said.

According to the family source, Camille confided, “You have to allow for space to let your partner do what he wants. I have done that and [bill] has done that and there’s no jealously, no friction.”

She said every so often the couple goes through an “evaluation period” to determine whether the marriage should continue. “She even once talked to Oprah Winfrey about cleansing herself of baggage every now and again and how it always seems to lead her back to staying with Bill,” the family source said.

Rev. Carl Dianda, the couple’s longtime spiritual adviser who presided over their marriage 51 years ago, told The Post his “heart breaks” for her.

“She made so many sacrifices for him to have a career.”

Thanks for that link to somnophilia, Nextiteration . This sounds like what Josh Duggar has. The women we have heard about Cosby drugging and raping have been women who would have been noticed if they went missing. I can't help but wonder if he didn't also engage with prostitutes who may not have been noticed or investigated if they disappeared. These kinds of sexual predilections tend to get worse as they need to go farther and farther to satisfy the urges. I am not making any accusations, but it does make one wonder.

Camille needs to stop talking.  Saying all these women enjoyed, or were willingly, being drugged corroborates their story of being violated.  You just became a witness, Camille.

I so agree!!!  I am not sure who is worse, the raper or the crowd that cheers them on!  BC's career is down the tubes and so is WG's but I am not sure either one knows it.....YET!

IF this Judd and Whoopi thing goes down, Whoopi will do what she usually does. She will talk over him, say "look man" several times, and they will agree to disagree and then commercial time.

My money is that either Whoopi or Apatow will be absent - either by their own decision or someone with the show, even though it's always appeared as though this show is lacking a showrunner.

Just saw this on Huff Post

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/the-cosby-show-sauce_55a01a80e4b0a47ac15c889e?ncid=tweetlnkushpmg00000027

It's a link to a Cosby Show episode with the plot point that Cosby has a special recipe for a BBQ sauce that makes people want to have sex. Interestingly enough, the other plot is about men viewing women as sex objects.

Add this to Cosby's stand-up routine about Spanish Fly, it's pretty clear what his mindset was when it comes to sex.

Apatow will be on to promote his new movie, Trainwreck.  Often on The View,  that kind of interview might be done by 2 or 3 hosts, not the whole panel.   I predict they'll have 2 hosts interview him about his movie, and Whoopi will not be part of it.

You're right, but I NEED this confrontation to happen.  Blow the barn doors off this mess….

Jesus, the producers of this show leak like sieves.

More reasons not to watch.  It's funny that the a British tabloid always gets the leaks first.

Expected to join Shepherd in the rotating host position is fashion expert Stacey London, model Molly Sims and conservative actress Candace Cameron Bure.

ABC News originally approached former The View host Joy Behar about returning in the same capacity, but negotiations ‘did not go well at all,’ explained our source.

Boo!  And more Boo!

eta: WOW WOW WOW, look at the comments, most of them sound like our group!  "Too late, Whoopi killed it!"

'Nicolle is a hit with viewers. She's gone from being the least-known of the new co-hosts, to a favorite of the audience members and even the celebrity guests who appear on the show. Arsenio Hall has tweeted her praise and Joy always says "now you're a Republican I really like;" but ABC is considering someone less compassionate in their presentation like Candace,' our source offered.

So Nicolle could be out because people like her. That used to be a good thing. Why not just have 4 or 5 polarizing co-hosts. Maybe it could get to a point where no one was speaking to anyone else.

This is the death knell for this show. When they first signed Sherri, they were unaware of her ignorance about things like evolution, the roundness of the earth, and when history began. But now they do. And the fact that they think that putting someone like that on a show is just fine betrays a cynical contempt for its audience.

I thought that they realized that the silly fluff of last season was a mistake. But I guess they're willing to make that mistake again.

This show died when Joy left. She was the only regular host at the time ago bothered to prepare for the show and she has a great interview style. What a shame that their attempts to bring her back failed.

  • Love 10

I had high hopes for Sherri at one time.  Before she was selected to be on the show, she did a few gigs on local LA morning Tv and was good.  Not great but could put an opinion across well and did not seem partisan but fair.  I remember they were discussing Star Jones and her wedding and she said "I even got tired of hearing about it."  I don't know what happened on "The View" but her time on the show was a disgrace.

Speaking of Apatow, wasn't Samantha Geimer on (the famous rape-rape comment) and Whoopi was not part of the interview panel?  That would have been interesting but I don't think the producers trusted Whoopi.  If she went after Geimer, which she probably would have, the level of outrage would have been really huge.

WTF????  They are bringing Sherri back??????????  On what planet does that make sense?  She is an idiot. Brings nothing to the table but idiocy.  The producers just do not have a clue do they?  And in an upcoming election year?  I'm sure the audience is going to want to hear her opinion on the issues and the candidates.

And I absolutely love John Oliver taking Whoopi to task for her appalling defense of Bill Cosby. She has earned ever single criticism thrown her way.

  • Love 16

isn't it wonderful when every person in show business does NOT bow down to the great Whoopi?

I don't think Whoopi has as many friends in show business that she thinks she does.  I would be willing to bet a lot of them are just ass kissers like her or just afraid to piss her off out of fear she will turn her wrath on them.  Whoopi strikes me as someone that could hold a grudge forever.

Even though Whoopi has many awards/accolades, I just don't see her as a legend.  She's a good actress, for sure, but she shoves that Yoda shit down everyone's throat.  Just watch how her whole demeanour changes when someone is lavishing praise (even false) on her.  She draws her chin inward, the lips peel back into huge, frozen smile…and she beams.  It's a real thing with her.  She needs to be the legendary sage in the room.  Period.  She's not half as smart as she thinks she is and is just too thirsty for it.  As far as Hollywood loving her, there is likely more side-eye than respect.

  • Love 11

Wow, so Joy didn't want to come back because of Whoopi? And they used to be friendly. I guess Whoopi hasn't just turned off me (and other viewers) the past year. Another reason the show's failing will be chalked up to Whoopi.

Even though it's a gossip rag using an anonymous source I can see why Joy would say, "no thanks."  After all she watched RO leave over the hostile/stressful working environment at the table.  Joy is at a place in her life where she doesn't need that kind of crap.  The fact that she isn't coming back makes me like her even more.

The quote about Nicolle being a fan favorite but being let go makes no sense.  Maybe the source just personally likes Nicolle so they are exaggerating a little, or maybe it was completely made up.  The idea the show is going to announce permanent rotating guest cohosts also doesn't make sense since basically that's how the show has been operating for years now, so who cares?

I don't like Sherri, but I don't hate her the way I do with Whoopi.  I really can't even try to watch to figure out who the new co-host is (seriously never heard of her before) because I don't want to deal with Whoopi.  Whoopi really cannot talk or be articulate about her constant defense of creeps.

It's sad for Sherri's career to go backwards like this I think though.

It's sad for Sherri's career to go backwards like this I think though.

Sad for the viewers maybe.  A regular part-time gig with full-time pay is a bonanza for Sherri.  It's not like Sherri has had a lot of options recently and the older she gets the less opportunities in her business.  Just ask Whoopi - whose last movie was Teenage Mutant Turtles.  Ha!

I don't get the thing about Nicole either.  She was hired because she had broadcast experience and isn't abrasive and nasty about politics - did you know she's a Republican? - and according  to that article it's that same reason her job here is in jeopardy.    But keeping Whoopi and letting a rather pleasant "fan favorite" go sounds about right for this mess.

Nicholle is probably in jeopardy because she is not polarizing ..... she doesnt create enough sparks as they hoped for a Republican host.... you do know she is a Republican right??

As for Sherri.... her coming back to The View is not back sliding.... it is a step forward from the path she was on..... I have no doubt that her ego makes her feel like she is coming back to save the show   SMH

We all know that the only way The View will survive is if Whoopi leaves the show. It is a shame that the people in charge dont see that..... or if they do see it they just ignore it

She's a Scorpio.  Trust me, this holding a grudge thing is true.  (Sorry, I don't usually do the woo-woo type thing, but I'm a Scorpio and it is just uncanny how we recognize each other.  Most of us cultivate a very pleasant public demeanor, but keep venom in our back pockets, just for when it needs to appear. I can still tell you the names of people who pissed me off in nursery school.)

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/view-paula-faris-talks-join-808727?utm_source=twitter I think this means Nicolle is gone.  Why rotate in a permanent cohost no one knows?  Who watches GMA Weekend?  Hopefully she becomes moderator.

Wendy Williams called Nicolle beige paint today, haha.  She also voiced her disapproval of Raven, the audience basically booed when Wendy mentioned Raven's name as new cohost.

What?  Nicolle Wallace is a Republican?  She doesn't have a brilliant little boy named Liam, does she?  I've noticed that when politics or any actual "news" is concerned, Nicolle seems to stick with her "debate" until she has the last word.  She'll give in to Whoopi...but no one else?  Am I hallucinating?

  • Love 4

Morbs: I really hope you're right. If they're going to insist on a Republican without any counterpoint, at least put Candace there so everyone knows she's an idiot the moment she opens her mouth to breathe. Better than a sneaky Republican like Nicolle... (who would be okay, if they had her opposite someone half-way intelligent).

I think I might tune into the next premiere week to see if I like Michelle at all. Yes, like a moth to a flame, with Nicolle gone, I might get sucked back in...

  • Love 1

I like Nicole more than anyone else currently at the table.  I don't understand why they would get rid of an experienced political broadcaster because she doesn't go rabid and replace her with some washed up former child actor who snarls her politics and most likely received her high school education (or only education) on a television set.  I guess she has that in common with Raven, but still.   If they are trying to recapture the obnoxiousness of Bitsy, good luck.

Bure lives in California.  I wonder if she would leave that and move to NYC. Then again, her Russian hockey player husband doesn't seem to have a job outside of famewhoring it up on Canadian reality TV contests and a winery in Napa.   Hmmmm.    I don't know why I care - this is my last season of The Spew either way.

  • Love 6

I admit to being bummed that Nicolle isn't returning. I've always said that it wasn't Elisabeth's politics that made her so unbearable, but her nasty personality. I dislike Nicolle's political views just as much, but I really enjoy her as a voice at the table. She's generally pleasant and has shown a willingness to compliment Dems on occasion, and disagree with fellow Republicans on some issues. Even with her "I'm a republican " tic, she appears to formulate her own opinions and not just spout spoon fed ones. She was a good fit for the show and "as a Democrat," I'll miss her next season.
