There were only 22 girls that danced the electric cowgirl routine, and did thunderstruck (17 show group plus Caroline, Alexis, Erin, Cianna and Rachel.) That was not rotated. The only girls that rotated each weekend were the two that would walk Santa down at the end of the show, and then they would do the last dance with the rest of the girls. Somewhat surprising that they chose mostly rookies as a part of that 22, but again this is a strong rookie class. I went to the show several times.

What about when girls got the weekend off?  Didn’t they have to change formations?

None of the 22 got a weekend off. Except I think Miranda filled in for Bridget one weekend. So formations didn’t need to ever change

I didn't realize that it wasn't the whole squad performing after the first weekend.  Plus, on the podcast this last week, Miranda made it sound like they rotated or something like that.

So, regarding the podcast, Miranda said it makes a good impression if you have the means and live nearby to attend as many prep classes as you can.  How much is each prep class?

I thought I heard Miranda mention they rotate as well.

Re:  Prep Classes

According to this page, between $40-$45 per class, depending on early bird pricing or day of class.

I actually like the tackiness of it all....The Music & The Neon Outfits...80s amazingness

I loved the outfits too. So over the top and tacky, so very Dallas LOL. The music was ok. I did not like the one song where DCC, R&B, those kids, Mav Maniac dad dancers or whatever they're called, all looked like they were doing something different. Over all though, it's a good show and good start. It will get better every year.

apparently Lauren has an injury that is preventing her from doing the pre-game but not sidelines????? not sure as photos of her group show her in them.

In the close up video of the Christmas show, Lauren enters across the field and then dances on stage (12).  During the kick line, there's only 11 on stage, so she must run off stage for that part.  She reappears as the girls exit the stage.  So, she must have an injury that prevents her from kicking or doing a jump split...

so, so, so bad.  I'm not a Rachel fan, but they caught her in full splits in this pic, and everyone else is off. Tasha (I think) looks horrific.

I looked at it and judging from the hair, they are landing/falling down at this point so actually, Rachel is the only one holding the split the longest. That’s impressive!  The rest are trying to cushion the blow by falling out of the split. Agree/disagree? I have no idea if that’s a worse landing than holding the split. I agree with you on Tasha....Tasha...girl.

On the one hand, if we get another group of rookies like the current one, some of the weaker veterans had better watch out for their spots.  On the other hand, if 9 or 10 people are leaving, Kelli and Judy may hold on to as many of the veterans as they can, especially if several of the upper level vets (girls with 3 or more years) leave.

If Christina were to retire, I wonder if she would replace/share time with Rycroft to “mentor” the comeback kids 🙄 I roll my eyes only because I can’t wait for her to retire/get cut but the universe WOULD do this to my viewing experience.

Now I will say something nice: Lacey should be treated like Kelli back in tha day and get invited back on the team next year, no try outs.

This and they rotate, and honestly, I think Alexis is GORGEOUS and holds her own dancing, but those rookies this year are so good, saying they might be better does not mean a vet is a weak dancer. Daphne, Jalyn, Bridget, Hannah, Amber, Rachel W., ALL are soooo goood it is ridiculous. Ciana, Ashlee, Briana, Erin, etc. all hold their own, too.

I actually thought all of the girls looked amazing.  I too think that Alexis is stunningly beautiful and a great dancer.  I was just making a comment that I thought I spotted her with the rookies.  I think it is great that they rotate.  I would love to see one of the shows in person but live too many states away.

Merry Christmas!  It wouldn’t be Christmas without every single DCC who ever wore it posting at least one (or maybe even 2, 3, or 4) pictures of themselves in the red Christmas uniform! 🤶🏻🎄🤶🏻🎄🤶🏻🎄

Is that Miranda on the left?  She looks worse than any of them.

I didn’t get the impression Jinelle felt like she could win, rather that she already knew who it was and was trying to keep a straight face.  I did love how genuinely excited Tess seemed to be getting as the build up was pointing more and more to Lacey.

So Jinelle is not only performing at every game like she’s a member of the team, she’s also privet to stuff like who made pro bowl before it’s announced.  I guess no one finds that odd?  She seems like the ultimate teacher’s pet among the students.

I wonder what the deal is with Jinelle this season, it seems like she's danced in almost every game, at least on the field. Are they using 37 cheerleaders? I can't see Kelli and Judy being too tolerant of someone(s) missing that many games (that Jinelle would be subbing for). I'm happy to see her, she's always been one of my favorites, but I just wondered if she'd changed her mind about retiring (after the team was announced)?

Her role this season has been very odd.  They’ve had all stars that have performed in multiple games before - like Emma did it a lot the season after she retired - but Jinelle is taking it to a whole new level.  Like it seems like she’s doing EVERYTHING with the team versus just showing up to do Thunderstruck at games.

She’s giving me a serious “refuses to get on w/ her life and would be a DCC forever if she could” vibe.  How old is she again?

Um, you do know she works for the organization, right? It’s not odd at all. Seriously Jinelle is just doing her job.

But why is she in a rehearsal outfit like a member of the team as opposed to in coaches clothes?  So she “works for the organization”, but is also doing everything all the squad members do too? Again, has anyone ever had this “I’m a manger, but I’m also on the squad” type of role?  Never mind how she essentially is dancing full games and doing the Christmas show, not just filling in, w/o having to go through tryouts.  It seems odd.

Madeline looks so pretty in that photo.  I haven’t been a big fan of her’s ever since that locker moving stuff she did was revealed, plus her face of gloating-glee when the final cuts were done but before the team was announced, but she certainly is photogenic.

I just think it’s odd that people are acting like she’s forcing her way in when in reality she’s just doing what’s asked of her. She’s willing because she loves the team and dancing, but in no way does she think she’s still “on the team” other than being an All Star.

Do you know Jinelle? I don’t ask that in a nasty way at all. I’m just curious, since we (people on the boards minus insiders) are not privy to the ins and outs of this. Personally, I have no reason to think Jinelle is forcing her way into anything, but I do find it strange that it does seem like she’s basically a team member without having to tryout. What’s the point of having multiple All Stars if only one girl ever fills in? I thought similarly when Emma seemed to  fill in a lot, but Jinelle seems to perform way more. Even my sister, who only watches the show and follows the team on social media, was like “is Jinelle still on the team? Why is she in the pictures and videos at every single game?” Again, I don’t fault Jinelle for this, or really anyone. I just find it a bit odd. Are the other All Stars not in performance shape?

Jinelle also escorted Jerry and Gene Jones at the Star for one of the Christmas performances. They lit the tree and Jinelle was their escort the entire time. She had on a custom pair of DCC boots..... super glam. They were very blingy! Love Jinelle!!!!!

I think the problem is that we all have watched the show for so long, or we've been DCC fans for so long, we think we know what will happen.  This is what happened last year, or this is what happened the last 5 years.  When something outside the norm happens, some want an explanation even though they don't owe us one.  They are just doing what they need to do.  For example, Jinelle being asked to help VK.  This was a young woman who gained weight in a very short period of time, and who needed to get the weight off fast, but safe.  Other girls would have been cut right away, but K&J thought Jinelle could help.  She was there, she eats clean and works out, and knows what is expected of a DCC.  So yes, that was different.

Emma just covered during games cause she has a full time job outside the DCC.  Jenn A worked at a dance studio, and maybe she still does, in addition to teaching classes.  With Jinelle, she retired full time from the squad, and I'm guessing here, needed a job to stay in the states.  K&J gave her a job, and it involves different duties that what we've seen from other gals.  Furthermore, she has remained "jump split" ready and has been able to fill in.  She works for the DCC, so her schedule can be adjusted to attend practices/games/camps, etc.  Now, next year, she may not be able to do this and maybe K&J will have to get a different gal to fill in or just adjust formations.

As for Amber's "girls" - we've all seen uniform fittings where Kelli teaches them how to enhance their natural assets.  I mean, look at swimsuit photos of the girls and then look at them in their blue bra and blouses - instant lift:)

Amen to this.  I imagine that the circumstances have given Kelli and Jinelle the best of both worlds.  You could tell Jinelle would miss dancing with the team, and the injuries and illnesses have given her the chance to perform without the headaches and stress of auditions and training camp.  Kelli seems to appreciate Jinelle’s leadership and abilities.  It has to be convenient to have a ready sub be so well integrated into the squad.  It’s sort of like the marketing manager guy who is also Rowdy (don’t want to step in the comp drama, but it seems analogous).

She’s at rehearsal because Lauren has been out of the kickline since late November so Jinelle has been dancing Thunder/dances that require kickline in her place. All Stars always practice and warm up with the team in practice gear on game day if they’re dancing. Emma was also shown in rehearsal gear several seasons back. They have Jinelle dance sidelines whenever a girl is out of a full game in order to not have to change formations. Right now though Lauren is still dancing sidelines so Jinelle only does Thunder. Considering Pro Bowl is announced during game day rehearsal, it’s not odd that Jinelle’s there at all. The North Texas Dancers were also there for the announcement because they were rehearsing with the team, and they certainly aren’t DCCs. There have been a lot of injuries and sickness this year, so the demand for a jumpsplit ready All Star has been high.

I just think it’s odd that people are acting like she’s forcing her way in when in reality she’s just doing what’s asked of her. She’s willing because she loves the team and dancing, but in no way does she think she’s still “on the team” other than being an All Star.

Also, there have been many comments on this board regarding having an "alternate" and not using All-Stars...  It looks like that's what we have now!

Unless she's out there injuring/taking out the other cheerleaders to insure she's needed to fill in, I don't think you can say she's refusing to retire & trying to be a DCC forever. She's an employee & an all-star doing what's she told. It's Kelli & Judy telling her when, where, & how much to dance (& when to show up to practice in a practice outfit too), not Jinelle pulling strings to do what she wants when she wants. She simply does not have that much power.

Jinelle being asked to help VK with her diet was cute, but lets be real.. Ive seen Jinelle many times in person at games/events for the cowboys she is thin as thin can get. VK, needed like Tasha to help her honestly...LIke they legit tried to fit a square into a star shape with this pairing and it was a disaster from the jump...like skinny mini woman jinelle helping a teen who hasnt even realized she is a woman yet..

Jinelle helping Yuko 100% awesome

VK needed like a Meredith, Britney Shram, or like I said Tasha to help her

Its alot....alot

K & J wanted Jinelle to teach VK good eating & exercise habits -- both of which she is more than capable of doing given the chance. Just because she is naturally thin doesn't mean she doesn't have the knowledge. Yes, people like Tasha have struggled with weight/toning issues -- but the key is that, while successful at times, they seem to continue to struggle. VK doesn't need that kind of advice (she seemingly already knows how to go up & down) she needs to learn good, strong habits that will keep the weight off. Many on the team could benefit from Jinelle's knowledge.

I agree with that, but I also think that for as much weight as VK gained in such a short period of time - she needed a different type of professional.  Someone not a part of the DCC organization.  Someone who she could talk to about pressure and expectations from her mom, Kelli, and more importantly, herself.

Very true, although I think a big part of the weight gain was that she probably crash dieted (learned from her mom?) before auditions to slim down & then couldn't maintain it (& probably didn't think she had to). In other words, it probably wasn't as big a gain as the number implies, but her body bouncing back to its normal weight. But you are right, she's under way too much pressure to be a DCC & needs to get on top of that.

That’s what I was getting at earlier. This seems to be much more of a standard alternate position than the All Star model that they’ve used before. Emma was used all of the time, but I don’t remember her doing more than Thunderstruck (she may have; I just don’t remember it). Jinelle actually seems like she completely filling in for injured girls. I understand the logic both in just using retired cheerleaders for Thunderstruck and in having a real alternate throughout the game.  I’m just curious if this is a change that will outlast Jinelle or if they’re just taking advantage (i don’t mean negatively) of the fact that they have a recently retired cheerleader on staff who has the time and physical ability to learn all of the new sidelines and stay in shape.

During the podcast, MIranda said that usually everyone loses weight during training camp, no matter how much they eat, cause they are dancing so much.  Once the practices cut back, then they have to start watching their diets again.

That makes sense in theory, but isn't there at least one each season called in during train camp for weight issues? Seems like that shouldn't be a problem if they are all really losing.

Amber said she was hitting In and Out every night for a double double.  Now if you are doing something like that, high in protein, and not getting fries or a regular soft drink, you'd be fine.  But if you have a burger, and fries, and a shake, and a pie...………...anyone else hungry??
