I wish that the other hosts would just once tell Meghan she can't speak on a subject because she doesn't know how the others involved feel because she isn't a member of said subject. Like when she acts like she is the authority on all things guns because she is an NRA member, even though Sara and Whoopi have both said they or members of their families are also members.

The next time the subject of teachers being armed with guns comes up, Joy should shut her down by saying if you haven't taught in a school, you can't speak for the students and teachers.

There was a story on the news last night about a couple of separate incidents where school staff accidentally discharged their guns.  These were (I think?) both former police officers.  (You know, trained.)  Fortunately no one was harmed seriously, but this is what can happen with more guns on site.

I spent a week in the Phoenix area and did some off road tracking in the mountains and river rafting.  It was breathtaking.  Beautiful country.  Maybe Meghan is cranky because she misses it.

I was hoping Meghan wouldn't be there. I bet she's gonna hijack the conversation. Damn it. Whoopi also said she has a lot of questions for him. The interview isn't until April 18th but I feel like it's going to be all over the place.

On a completely different subject, Joy brought up the study about conservative women having better sex again and Meghan said she didn't really believe in that - she believes healthy women, in general, have better sex. Once in a lifetime moment, ladies and gents, but I kinda agree with Meghan. I'd be curious to find out all the details about this study. How the hell can one measure how much "better" someone's sex is based on their political standing, lol?! 

Whoaaaaa, Meghan just dropped another hypocrisy bomb on us. She said she doesn't do "casual friends" because that's not how she rolls. Yet EVERY other person is a "good friend" of hers?! Really, Meghan?

It's been said for years Republicans have better sex.  But also red states have the highest percentage of online porn watching so.......

I heard about the porn thing but I'm just not sure I buy into Republicans having better sex. How does one even measure that, lol? "Better sex" is so loaded and can mean different things to different people. I'm sure the study probably includes a series of questions about your sex life and all that, but still...

the study was just a poll -  Better sex?  Who knows?  A higher percentage of republicans than democrats REPORT being satisfied with their sex lives.  That's what the study actually measured, how people answer the question "are you satisfied with your sex life?" based on their political affiliation.  People extrapolate polls all the time, to make the results mean something they don't .  They do it on The View all the time.

Meghan continues to entertain me (sarcasm) with her saying that she holds her friends near and dear, and basically said she doesn't call just anyone her friend LOL  Contrast that with Sara, who did work with Kathie Lee for a number of years.. but didn't call her a friend, but did say she knew and worked with her.. and said nice things about her. 

I have noticed that people nowadays throw out the friend word to anyone that they get along with, so maybe Meghan just is doing what most people do nowadays.  In my personal life, I have people introducing me to others as their friend, and while I like the person.. I don't usually label them as a friend (maybe they're a work chum, or a drinking/social chum... but certainly not a friend).  So I think it all depends on what one's definition of a friend truly is.

In general I have found  most people not all but most people are  friendly to a person's face. People are more comfortable being an ass to a person behind their back.

This is how it really went.

I do have to agree with Meghan about something (shocking!).  Speaking about remaining friends with someone accused of a heinous crime, there is no way I would contact and express sympathy to someone like Cosby or Weinstein. I wouldn't care if they did deny it, when there are dozens of women claiming rape that person would be out of my life. Period.  Sara is a better person than me if she could find compassion.

If someone was side-eyeing her because she had spinach in her teeth, she'd claim it was because they knew she was a Repub.  I can guess where her sense of entitlement came from, but what's up with this constant victimization?  She is perpetually on defense, or at least in combat mode.  She should actually join the military, instead of worshipping from afar.  -  On another note, when they all walked onto the set today, she looked so much slimmer than she usually does.  Whatever she was dressed in, she should wear (some iteration of) everyday.  I'm probably her size, and I wouldn't touch 99% of her outfits with the proverbial 10 foot pole.  So I'm not size shaming; just noticing how good she looked today in something that enhanced her body type, rather than denigrating it.

Elsa said she was buying the sex toy for a "friend", for a bachelorette party.  Because I guess she doesn't do sex toys.  That's how it started with Joy challenging her when she got embarrassed when they were talking about shopping for sex toys.  Joy challenged her and said, I bet you've shopped at sex toy store, and Elsa admitted  she shopped at the same store as Joy, but for a friend.

Hello, and welcome to this edition of: Thursday Therapy for The View Addicts!
(With full credit to the O.P. who said this forum is like a therapy session. Truth.)

First, a few thoughts for MM:
Being an economist does not mean "someone who predicts stock market rises & falls." It's actually quite a bit more complicated than simply making predictions. But, because The View's approach to complex topics is facile at best, allow me to at least ask, "What the fuck does David Cay Johnston have to do with the Larry Kudlow becoming Trump's Economic Adviser?"

David Cay Johnston is an investigative journalist. Journalist. He writes. Words. About the economy and money. BUT HE'S NOT AN ECONOMIC ADVISER NOR HAS HE EVER BEEN.*

Allowing MM to read off a list of names and disparage the careers of David Cay Johnston and Paul Krugman was really something to behold. Both Krugman AND Kudlow worked for Reagan. Krugman has had a long and illustrious career, written tons of books and has over a dozen awards to his name. Kudlow has a former coke habit. (DCJ is also a Pulitzer winner.)

BUT, The View must let MM have her rant so The View can comfortably say they're covering BOTH SIDES. 

Speaking of "both sides," that seems to be the role they've established for Sara. She may want to read-up on the McCabe story before declaring that there are "two sides" to the issue" of his firing.  This is a purely political revenge play that's been crafted by the right.

I cannot understand, fathom or comprehend how these women, who have far more resources and access to information than the majority of the population, somehow can't manage to be informed on a topic before speaking about it in front of millions of people. 

I fully agree with Sunny: there is very little appreciation of education and knowledge in this country. And that example is so clearly seen on each episode of The View...

*Perhaps he's advised someone economically in his lifetime.

Gervais spoke about his mom's funeral.  Meghan might have not have handled someone talking about a parent's death in a humorous way so well.
