While I agree that women should wear what they want to wear, I find that unflattering clothing is very distracting.  I keep doing makeovers in my head & lose track of what they're saying.  But, that's just me.

Me too. I sometimes think about why an outfit doesn't work. Like with MM wearing the jumpsuit with the large belt.  I know an outfit like that would make me look dumpy, because I have a similar shape.

When I watch women on TV, I do look at their outfits, evaluate if I like it, if it looks good on them, think about if it would look good on me.  I don't think about it as much with men, because men's clothing is often boring.

I absolutely love fashion and I'm always looking at people on TV and movies to see something that catches my eyes and makes me think "Oh I like that.  Maybe I should try that style."

Joy:  For the most part her style is simple but flattering for her hair color and shape.

Sunny:  She always looks very well put together.  Lots of prints which I think work well on her.  Although sometimes she has some funky sleeves I don't like.

Meghan:  Her clothes either appear to be for someone older or someone younger.  And almost always too tight.  And her shoes never seem to match.  She wears very high heels which I myself also wear when weather permits but I try to match mine to my outfit.

Whoopi:  Do I even need to say anything?

Did they not have that "View Your Deal" stuff on Monday? I skipped that day. If they did skip it then they are doing it today, if not they look to be trying it twice a week.

Sunny wears a lot of unflattering and odd dresses.  A LOT!    Weird and unflattering colors that seem to draw attention to the orange-based make-up she wears.

There are going to be more and more "funky" sleeves on everyone.  The flared and bell sleeves are being pushed upon us.

I lived through the poncho craze.  I can live through the bell sleeve craze too.

So MM really thinks she won that round? (when Valerie J came back after break and explained that she was not drawing a moral equivalency between Louis F and the Kochs and Murdoch) That snarky laugh was so childish, but typical mean girl Meghan.

She is so nasty. I don't understand her attitude towards Valerie. Valerie never made a false equivalency.  Megan likes to put words in people's mouths. Plus, she likes to fight for no reason. At one point, Joy asked her why was she even arguing. They had all agreed that hateful rhetoric should be condemned and never tolerated..

I agree, that laugh was full of snark. I have yet to see her apologize for or correct herself on anything.

Loved Valerie's glasses.

And on the other hand WTF did Meghan have hanging from her ears?  Those "earrings" are meant to be worn with a boho look.  Not the plain sweater she was wearing.

I have read this board (and TWP before it) for YEARS and had to create an account for the very first time because of this post.  I don't think anyone has ever put words to exactly how I feel in such a concise manner before now.  Every word, from spouting percentages with no context to the dichotomy of "pro-life"/"pro-gun" hypocrisy is brilliant.  It's only 10 AM and you've made my day.  Bravo!

It's always something or someone that spurs us to join ... hopefully, you'll feel welcomed & will enjoy the conversation.  Welcome aboard!!

I agree. I like a lot of Sunny's looks.  I also think that she looks uncomfortable wearing any thing with those weird bell sleeves. Which cracks me up because I see them everywhere, and I always imagine how awful it would be to cook, eat, work at a computer, write, with big bell sleeves. Mine would be filthy and ripped after one day.  Short flared sleeves I can handle, but the long ones make me crazy.

Sunny has worn some full-skirt dresses that look great on her, especially in dark prints.   Joy once said that her style is "every topic goes with black pants." That's kind of my style as well.

MM just doesnt listen to others, except get husband and her dad,  despite what she said about " no man yada yada yada".

She's not smart enough for repartee'.

(Look it up, MM, and try to use it correctly, or any big word, correctly for a change.  )

Thank you! This is the reason I logged on, despite deciding to take a break, because I get political even when I don't mean to.

What was with those earrings? Her hair was cute, and while that teal sweater didn't flatter her figure, the color was fantastic on her, and then she had her grandma's tack chandeliers hanging from her ears. If she'd just worn some big, gold hoops, she'd have had a cute weekend look.

I kept thinking she must think the earrings would distract from her weight, or something, because I just couldn't get the point.

AND -  how the hell  many times did Paula TRY to talk and Meghan holds up a finger in that "wait a minute"  gesture, or just talks right over her?  Oh, and she did it to Sunny, too.

AM I the only one who noticed that MM's horrible earrings disappeared after the first segment?

Poor Paula.  She barely gets a word in with MM interrupting her every chance she gets, then she doesn't get to do the  Luke Bryan interview either.   She's only there on Fridays, and on Fridays she doesn't get to participate.

Did anyone else notice that Luke put his hand on MM more than once? I know of him and his family's turbulence even though I'm not really a country music listener. I don't know if he's usually touchy-feely like that. I found today's show to be kinda dull. It was nice to have a Whoopi free day. Too much MM hogging limited time due to the "deal" segment at the end of the show.

The earrings were back when her hair was down. She had three looks: Up and hippy, up, and down and hippy. I'm guessing Luke Bryan's interview was taped earlier in the morning bc her hair was straight, too.

Re:  Luke's comment about being gentle with contestants - some of those people need some tough love.  I don't think they should be encouraged when they have zero talent.  I don't really think Simon was that mean.

WTF was that green thing MM was wearing?  She needs a style intervention (as noted above, over and over).

Today’s episode is another example of Meghan LOOKING to create controversy and get ABC in trouble.  She LOOKS to twist words - she LOOKS to dogwhistle to her echochamber at Fox News. Joy is catching on since she kept saying, “WE AGREE WITH YOU!” Even when hosts agree, Meghan manipulates the conversation to make herself again look like a victim. Elisabeth never wanted to bring down The View and get her network in trouble; Nicolle never wanted to have fights with other hosts — she’d find common ground; Candice was too nice to even really get political for the most part; and Jedidiah could be a human and talk about subjects that didn’t pertain to politics.

I do feel Meghan is trying to act as a “Conservative” Hero constantly “exposing” The View.  For these reasons, I don’t get why ABC is keeping her.

I soooo wanted Paula to say, "No, Meghan.  I want to take this one."  I did love that she sat there quietly, let Meghan spout, and then said what she was going to say anyway, though.

At one point, not sure if it was before of after the snotty little laugh, Joy was looking at Meghan with such a look.  I was hoping she'd just say what she wanted to say; it looked like she was ready to let Meghan really have it once and for all.  I would have loved to hear what she had to say!

Valerie's glasses really were cute.  I liked her whole outfit.  And I loved the measured way she made her points and barely even reacted to that snotty little cackle.

Tamika Mallory didn't say "Hitler was great".  Farrakhan said that.  But the way Meghan kept repeating it it sounded like she was saying Mallory said that.

Last week Meghan argued that the "controversial" speakers at CPAC wasn't reflective of all conservatives.  OK then Tamika Mallory isn't reflective of everyone connected to the Women's March.  Meghan speaks out of both sides of  her mouth and neither side makes sense.

For me the problem wasn't that Tamika attended one of his speeches, it was when she posted a picture of herself with Farrakhan, and stated that he was GOAT (Greatest of All Time).

If you believe a man who says, Hitler was great. Who talks about Jewish people being Satanic. Who openly is against gay marriage, believes homosexuality is a sin. If you believe a homophobic, anti semitic person is one of the Greatest of All Time, then no, I don't believe you should be leading a movement on equality and empowerment.

heee... Not sure if I'll last that long. :-) The difference between MM and Bits is that MM seems to be doing this stuff on purpose. Bits just repeated what was in her ear and or just stepped in it by accident. MM wants to rock the boat and maybe go viral , imo

Glad to hear Sara is coming back. She doesn't make me crazy.

Paula was on a bit on a comedy roll. I am sort of neutral on her usually

I haven't seen today's show yet (Friday), but I did want to comment on the hosts' outfits.

My mother was trained as a couturier (in Vienna, in the 1940s) and she would always comment on women' clothing - what worked, what didn't. I wasn't a great student (I can barely sew) but I remember her criticisms, so, I, too, check out what the women are wearing and whether or not it suits them, in my opinion :)

Sunny is *very* well put together - hair, make-up and clothes. Yes, the sleeves are weird a lot of times, but she has a very nice figure and shows it off.

Joy is an older woman and wants to be comfortable. Most of the time, the blouses look nice on her. I love the way Sara dresses (and I'm very happy she's coming back).

Paula is very pretty - I think she could dress better.

Whoopi is a disaster. She needs to stand up straight and wear a bra!

And MM has no idea what to wear. She has good posture and a good bra - I'd like to see her in something with a bit more cleavage and 'A'-line skirts/dresses. There's a reason they've worked all these years! She also seems to love those tiny braids - it seems to me she has to grow up - in many ways. She *is* 33 , after all, as she keeps reminding us.

One last thing - doesn't anyone check to see that their colours don't clash? Sometimes it's so weird - the same primary colour, but all different shades... it's jarring.

Both accounts I've read (Mediaite and RawStory) about the discussion of Tamika and Farrakhan leave out the stuff after the break - Valerie Jarrett's rebuttal/clarification, Meghan's "snotty cackle" and Joy's reaction, leaving an incomplete version of what happened. To me it seems so obvious that Meghan's objective (her assigned mission) is to discredit the Women's March, by attacking feminism and then the leaders.

What I found interesting about that discussion is that

1. Sunny mentioned that she knew Tamika, but still said that she should have gone harder in separating herself from this and that it wasn't right. Contrast that to Meghan who is a friend of everyone and will defend them, even when they're in the wrong.

2. Meghan finds this inexcusable, which is fine. But when Trump says African countries are s-holes, is okay with his base claiming that Obama is a Muslim (which isn't an insult, but it is used as one when against Obama) or that Mexicans are rapists, she defends that. Trump is a racist, but she won't claim that and will support him as long as he doesn't go after her father. But heaven forbid someone says something against white people (because really that's what she had the biggest problem with. The hitler comment too, but the fact that he was against all white people) is now horrible and no one should associate themselves with that.

3. Joy again has to explain that the point isn't what Meghan is talking about. I do wish she called her out though and brought up Trump as someone no one should associate themselves with.

Yes, she is looking for any way to discredit and disparage the women's movement.  Valerie J was trying to point out that the women's march was about being inclusive, not checking all known associations of everyone involved.  And Tamika has spoken out about her beliefs:

Tamika Mallory responds

Her point of view is that she is not a bigot.  But she found comfort in the Nation of Islam when she was grieving, and is thankful for the support provided to her.

If it's fair to hold her accountable for everything Farrakhan says, then it's fair for me to say Meghan is a "conservative," and therefore is responsible for the actions of all conservatives.

The strange thing is everyone agreed with her in that his remarks weren't acceptable, but she wasn't listening. If Meghan isn't okay with meeting someone who has views that she doesn't like, then that's fine. But she didn't like that one skater who refused to meet with Trump, because she felt it was disrespectful. And whenever someone complains that Trump's base supports racist and sexist comments, then that's wrong and we should all be in harmony and happy with one another.

It comes off as hypocritical, especially since it seems like she had an issue with his comments on white people more than anything else.

Even, if by some miracle Meghan said something with which I agreed, or which even made sense in opposition, her delivery of her opinions and "facts"  is so unpleasant that my mind shuts her out. Today she seemed particularly loud and shrill. I might often disagree with Paula, but at least I'm willing to listen her her, because her voice and attitude aren't overtly hostile.

She knows a politician and former presidential advisor are going to react diplomatically when she gets in their face.   She had no idea how Adam would react.   And let's not forget Adam now has a fanbase.  If Meghan had disrespected him I have no doubt she would have been crucified on Twitter.

Speaking of flared sleeves, today I went to the salon and my stylist had 3/4 length bell sleeves.  They kept flapping in my eyes.  Of all the professions that should not wear flared sleeves, that would be at the top I would think..  She was one of several stylists in the salon with flared sleeves.  It is really a thing now.
