jjj August 8, 2018 Share August 8, 2018 So, after Brian Williams finished his extended two-hour show about the Ohio election results, MSNBC basically handed the network over to Steve Kornacki -- at least two hours on his own instead of repeats, and I would have preferred the repeats. He was still holding forth at midnight Pacific Time, and when I woke up at 5:00 AM Steve was on Morning Joe -- they said he had not slept. It baffles me that they give him so much air time, hours of "it's too early to tell what will happen." 2 Link to comment
Mumbles August 8, 2018 Share August 8, 2018 YMMV but I love Kornacki. He knows his stuff cold. He's an unapologetic geek. He used to have the 9am slot after Morning Joe and it was refreshing, just him in a pullover sweater and khakis analyzing the numbers and trends. Before he was on MSNBC he was a very insightful writer for Salon.com. On the rare occasions that he's on Morning Joe (rare, because in his Salon days he correctly called out Barnicle as the sleazy fabulist/plagiarist hack that he is) he calls them on their conventional wisdom bullshit. 6 Link to comment

Cajungirl64 August 16, 2018 Share August 16, 2018 (edited) Am I the only MSNBC viewer who doesn't like Katy Tur? She seems up to have an underserved sense of entitlement about her and it feels like she's constantly trying for a "gotcha" moment... even in her hand-offs to Ari. *sigh* Why can't they all be like Rachel (and Andrea Mitchell... Yes, as she gets older, her cadence is halting at times, but she's still a true professional at all times and isn't trying to create a "brand" for herself). Eliot August 26, 2018 Share August 26, 2018 I don’t like that “Your Business” show that airs at 7:30 a.m. on weekends. The anchor, whose name escapes me, is annoyingly, relentlessly perky and the businesses she profiles are universally dumb. That is all. 3 Link to comment

Kemper September 13, 2018 Share September 13, 2018 I have to wonder what criteria the network uses when deciding what reporters to send to hurricane-impacted areas. Ali Velshi is one of my absolute favorites; but he seems a little out-of-his-element standing on a beach clad in a long-sleeved plaid shirt and what would appear to be dress pants. !! And another poor female reporter is absolutely drenched. Do we really need this? Live updates with Weather Channel personnel would be maybe better. But not as entertaining. I am not meaning to sound like I find this whole thing humorous; we lived at the beach for almost 10 years so know how serious and devastating these storms are. It just seems that the networks go to ridiculous lengths; I guess it brings in ratings. I could actually watch Velshi on a beach for hours. 4 Link to comment
izabella September 13, 2018 Share September 13, 2018 I don't understand why MSNBC, and other networks for that matter, think we need to see windblown reporters non-stop before the storm. We are getting no new information with the constant, live coverage, so why not have them check in for a few minutes every hour to note anything that has changed, and then report the other news in the country? 14 Link to comment

Scandalous? Yes. Several years ago a good friend of hers had to take her to court to recoup the thousands of dollars she'd lent to her to finance her children's school trip to Europe. ($10,000 maybe?) Alex always seemed to have some sob story as to why she couldn't pay it back. Aside from that, I can't stand her verbal style, so overly dramatic and emphasizing the 'wrong 'words in a sentence, for no reason than to be different. It's like watching a bad school play. And the 5 pounds of fake hair cascading down her shoulders is just the frosting on the overbaked cake. 6 Link to comment
