I think sometimes the Duggars do so many damn odd things, we can forget that some things just are human preference and not any deeper than that. 

When people grumble about taking shoes off inside a house, I tell them story about what I saw in a local parking lot. A mother was letting her tiny daughter pee next to the car and as it was on a hill, it ran down the course of the parking lot. So you could be a few cars away and step in it and not realize its just not water run off. House shoes or socks are fine. I wear them mainly in the cold months (I'm outside of Chicago). 

This also goes for being barefoot, know where you are walking! We had a cow field behind us growing up. Things could get "interesting".

My sister-in-law has a sign in her laundry room (yes, one of THOSE signs so you know what room you are in) that says, “mom cave”.  Pisses me off every time I see it because her husband has the whole basement as his man cave. She doesn’t see anything wrong with it and I don’t think Jill would either.

Has anyone else seen the latest from Pickles?  Apparently she was trying to pick a fight with Derrick on social media and he states that they had to quit missionary work due to a bogus "contract" in place with TLC.....  Interesting stuff!    I'm waiting for one of the online tabloids to pick this up.

So, he evades the issue.  As we know, he wasn't exactly 'commissioned' by his home church as neither he nor Jill met the criteria set out by the mission they were working with.  They went to their church and received some sort of blessing or prayer from the preacher and congregation which is not the same at all.  My mission group gets the same from our parish and we are not paid missionaries, just volunteers serving a specific purpose at our own expense.

As far as a 'mix up with the filming', I suspect that means that TLC was unwilling to pay for a camera crew to go down there and follow them around while they did nothing substantive.  They already had plenty of film of that.  And, of course, if TLC wasn't going to film them in El Salvador, there was no check coming to the Dullards from TLC.  I presume Derick and Jill didn't read the fine print and didn't realize that TLC held all the cards and that was the 'mix up'.

Maybe Derick's Bible doesn't include that pesky 9th Commandment that us Catholics have.  Maybe it's been relegated to the Apocrypha.

The fuck? I don’t think God bases his “callings” on the ability to film it for a third rate cable TV network. Either you’ve been called to missions or you haven’t. And if they found it wasn’t for them, take some freaking ownership of that and say it. Don’t blame others.

Derick also seems to have forgotten his previous version of events.  Back in the day, he claimed that HE is the one who stopped filming for TLC, right around the time that Sam was born, after they were back in the US.  When exactly would it have been that TLC got 'mixed up' and prevented them from going back?  By the time Sammy was born, Derick claimed to have ended the relationship.

In fact, we're pretty sure that Derick and company got the boot from TLC because of his homophobic rants directed at a teenager, but I am pretty sure that that happened while they were in the US waiting for the birth and again has nothing whatsoever to do with any mistake that TLC made.

Derick needs to pick a story and stick with it. Unless the 'mix up' was that Derick posted his hateful beliefs publicly when he meant to keep them private, the whole story is fabricated.

I think maybe jill and derrick had a contract to be filmed and SOS didn't allow it for security and privacy reasons. every time they were filmed at their SOS house weren't all the windows covered with blankets and things? 

lots of churches send groups to SOS and those people could probably not be filmed and put on counting on.

maybe the confusion was they signed 2 contracts

It's just us poking fun at Derick and Jill's pathological need to be joined at the hip and Michelle's "anyone can make him a sandwich" line.  Pretty much, Jill has to show up at Derick's classes to make sure Becky (or any female classmate) doesn't make a play for Derick.   Because, you know, Derick is a man and he will stray if you are not vigilant.

As someone posted earlier, it would be nice to see or hear about Izzy starting  a new preschool year. Oh that's right, he's in First grade now since Derick said he finished Kindergarten. 

We haven't seen pictures of any of the grands (or even the younger 19 for that matter) starting back up with home schooling.*  Maybe the Duggar Academy (ies) SOTDRT have a later opening this year.

So, Jill was preparing dinner because she’s going out. Samuel is repeating, “mommy yucky in my bib”, over and over. Finally Jill acknowledged him, and said it (the pocket of the bib) was dirty from breakfast.

 I also like how she hollered out delicious, tasty, and most importantly fresh food, just to fill it up with processed junk and fatty meat. Seems like a typical Duggar response to anything healthy.  Maybe next time can get a spiral slicer and make some zoodles.

So Derek now claims that he and Jill quit TLC because they were in a bogus contract that prevented them from carrying out their missionary work? What missionary work did they ever have exactly? Their little venture in Danger American didn't last long and didn't seem particularly successful anyway. Not long after they returned, Derek ran off his ugly mouth and lost their TLC gig and angered the Duggar headship. Does he think he can lie about it now with impunity? I wonder what makes him think that? He's a loser, and he married a woman with no education and no apparent skills. They're stuck, and nothing is going to change that. I feel very sorry for the kids but not much for either of these two "adults."

Ack.  What a slob.  My OCD would be all over the place standing in that space... you can do dishes while cooking. Ack, just ack.  And also, is it just me, but let's see... within easy reach of the grasp of a toddler or two: a pair of scissors in the sink, a knife on a cutting board, a knife sitting in a measuring cup... bloody hell! I need to go sit down and catch my breath, I'm freaking out over here. Oh gawd, I see how close to their reach is to the whole bloody knife set in the block holder now... {breathing in a paper bag}.  I guess I need help.

OMG, Most, if not all, of that crap in the sink & on the counter can easily be loaded in the dishwasher incl Sam's plastic bib.

I'm in no way a neat freak but dirty dishes left in the sink with stagnating water & pieces of food in them grosses me out.  I want to reach thru my screen to clean up & wipe down that kitchen with Clorox. Just yuck!!

I guess she just wants pats on the back & accolades from other mothers that they understand where she is coming from & its OK to have a sinkful of dirty dishes since she's a busy mother.

Jill, you're a lazy ass. Clean up your shit. Also, and here's a real revelation for anyone who has a brain the size of a gnat.....everyone's feet are different. You can trace a damn foot all day long but it doesn't mean a shoe will fit them correctly or feel comfortable. Let me explain this to you like you're 5 Jill...people wear down shoes differently. Maybe the arch is higher or lower. Maybe they wear down the ball of shoe quicker or the heal of the shoe or the side depending on how they walk, etc. NOT EVERYONE WEARS A SHOE THE SAME WAY YOU COMPLETE MORON!! I'm going to give Jill just the tiniest break for the state of her kitchen because we are not all alike, and even though I know, intellectually, that cleaning up as you go will make everything  easier, I never seem to do that. Even when I try, nine times out of ten the kitchen will look as though a bomb has hit it by the time I'm done, and I'm juggling for bits of countertop every time I need to prep another ingredient. It will look as though I haven't picked up in weeks. But it still gets cleaned up after dinner. Or, at the very least, finished up the next morning if we've gone through more dishes during the day than I can fit in one load of the dishwasher. Mr Jyn likes to say that I can manage to use every pot in the kitchen just to boil some eggs, and sometimes I think he's not far wrong LOL

I did manage to keep everything pristine yesterday because my mom is staying with us for the weekend again (as she does most weekends when the lady she hires for home help can't be there. I get really frustrated, because Mom is one of those people who has always kept what seemed an effortlessly uncluttered house, and even though she barely gets around with her walker now, she still hates not to have some sort of work to do, and will be there to wash any plate or cup that ends up in the sink during the day, or wipe up any stray bit of something on the counter; cut off any yellowing leaves from my houseplants...she just has an eagle eye for anything that disturbs a clean and serene picture, while my eyes tend to focus on the pleasing parts of whatever I'm looking at and edit out the flaws.

Anyway, that was a major digression - sorry! - but the point is that there are those of us out there who will have a bit of a mess around them and just not worry about it right then without being horrible, lazy disgusting slobs or something straight out of "Hoarders". We'll get to it.

Though I certainly wouldn't take a picture of it, then proudly feature it on social media. 

In reality, I do sometimes feel that I share some character traits with Jill (outside of the religious thing, obviously) - the Bohemian bent, the scatterbrained quality, the insecurity, and tend to want to defend her at least a bit in terms of those things. Being a bit messy is not necessarily the mark of a lazy or otherwise completely faulty human being. There are plenty of things I do find to criticize Jill about, and while I certainly find her posting the photo of a messy kitchen snarkworthy, I don't find the mess itself to be worthy of branding her a "lazy ass", or other terms which have been thrown around.

Not quite. The hollowed out zucchini is actually filled with a mixture of seasoned ground turkey, cheese, bread crumbs, and the scooped out zucchini. When I make it I put some sauce in the mixture, some over top. I don’t recall what Jill does.
