The middle and high school basketball coaches are going to keep their eyes on Israel.  I would love for him to get a full basketball scholarship to a great university.

Jill can't help herself. She has figured out the more mainstream she is, the more love and support she gets from former haters. The problem is, she seems to use her kids to paint this picture.

Now she is presenting her kids as being exposed to all kinds of music and requesting hip hop. Are we supposed to believe on other days they request rap, the blues or rock and roll?

I don't believe Jill knows she's exploiting her kids, but as I asked in the Vuolo thread, why is Jill still on public SM?

Oh my, a poor night's sleep, poking on Primetimer and I had a Dillard dream. The long and short of it was the Dillards giving me a ride home from an event. Jill got dropped off because she was angry with Derick. Derick was on and off the phone basically telling anyone who would listen that he's busy, he's a lawyer. We had to go back and pick up (pregnant) Jill. Half way home we stopped on the side of the road and lo and behold, Michelle and Cathy were there to depart their wisdom - season of life, lawyer, walk through, blah, blah, blah. When we were about a half hour from my home, I asked if they would stop for coffee, with a plan to use the bathroom and make a run for it. But, nope we stopped at a diner with only one entrance/exit. It was then I woke up - thank goodness. 🤣🤪😴🥴🤣

I really hope Jill is adjusting well to all the changes and I want to thank her for the ride.

So true BUT I just hope Israel enjoys basketball.  It's actually quite a miserbale existence being tall and being told your main worth is playing a sport when you DON't enjoy sports at all.  He seems fairly athletic so far, so I doubt he'll have this problem.

That kids that age would request a genre instead of specific songs doesn't pass the smell test.

Yep. My kids were exposed to all kinds of music and even knew many of the bands/singers' names, but other than opera it was all just music at that age. They thought of Raffi the same as Carole King and the Sesame Street song the same as Footloose.

TBF, Derick just started a new job after not working full time for over three years. Also the RMH provides lodging for the parents, something not available through medical insurance. I don’t begrudge them utilizing available resources. I wonder if Cathy stayed with the kids during that time.

Benefits for Federal  State Employees kick in at MINIMUM 60 days after employment begins.  He's been employed over 2 months. 

A couple of overnights, and they can't afford a single hotel room?  Grift & Greed.

Around here the Ronald McDonald House has a minimum qualifying distance from the patient's home to the hospital. IIRC its 40 miles. The RM House around here is often full as well.

There is also the fact that Ronald McDonald House is usually located on the hospital campus, sometimes even in the hospital building itself.  For a new mom, who just had a cesarean and is perhaps nursing her child, being close to that baby is an absolute necessity.  RMcD House where I work has rooms right next to the NICU for parents that include electric breast pumps and containers to store breast milk as well as a small refrigerator for the milk.  The mother is just steps away from the NICU itself, so she can walk down to nurse anytime, and can easily transport her pumped milk to the NICU to use in a feeding tube for her child which I believe Freddy had.

Ronald McDonald House provides amazing services to parents of sick children and I would imagine that Jill was invited to stay there specifically to be available to feed her son.  There are reasons other than financial that a parent might need to stay as close as possible to their child and RMcH does not discriminate against people just because they could afford to be staying several miles away at the Holiday Inn.  If the House was full, then Jill wouldn't have been able to stay.

Thanks for info.  I begrudge them a lot of things, most especially their odious beliefs, but, not this.  I guess I would hope for them to make a donation to RMH but maybe that is asking too much of them.

I understand wanting to wear Freddy as much as possible. We were baby/toddler wearers. But I draw the line at wearing a child while cooking. Especially when Sam was roaming around. So much can go wrong so quickly.

I'm wondering if they held Sam back a year? It didn't seem like Izzy was there. My kinders are in school until 2, and the older kids get out at 3. Many kinder parents have their kid in extended care for the hour so they can pick up their kids at one time.

Not only just started a couple months prior, it’s a state job.  Beginning pay for state jobs isn’t usually that great.  Even if it is a lawyer  position.  Plus they just moved and bought  all those things you buy when you move into a different house.  
I also agree with the post that says it’s on or close to the hospital campus.   If I remember correctly, the parents  are asked  to pitch in and help cook or do dishes?  
I’m sure they met the criteria to stay.  So why shouldn’t they?

It’s good to see Jill back to some of the things she enjoys. She had a story about starting a garden, slowly but after a C-section and surgery quite an accomplishment. Hopefully she’ll post about Izzy’s and Sam’s adjustment to school and new neighborhood.

Someone on FJ looked up schools in Siloam Springs. They're apparently grouped in small grade increments. Sam and Izzy would be attending different schools as PK/K is one school while Izzy would attend the 1/2 grade. 

There's been no discussion of school choices at all.

I saw, I wish she would respond.  I really cannot see Derick going along with homeschooling.  I would think after seeing how much Israel loved public school and how well he did either of them would want to homeschool.  She said it was the 3rd grade doing the mock trial so I hope that means they are going to public school.
