Who would EVER seek him out with those answers.

Someone who is just in it for the sex.  Someone who doesn't care about what you think...they just want your other half of the Lego brick.  ?

I was thinking about that in my mind, but I didn't want to be mean lol

I'm bored of this scandal. Can we cancel this and have Josh revealed to be the guy who helped himself to personal items from the purse? It would be way more interesting. Now all we have is a lame photo theft and evidence that there are a lot of Josh lookalikes in Arkansas.

How terrible if they made the announcement to soften the blow of the lawsuit. They continuously blab about the sanctity of life, yet use it as a diversion tactic. That is all their kids are to them, chattel, no further proof needed.

Anyway, the timing of the announcement is highly suspicious. At the latest, they usually announce around 3 months. Announcing now just makes it look like they were going to wait until she'd given birth, or close to it, when the show returned this summer.

Whaaaaa?????  It's true!  Ashley Madison customers are only after one thing.  And they don't care about anything but THAT.  Including your thoughts and feelings.  Because YOU don't matter.  Your parts and pieces DO.

Omg there is no reason EVER why someone should be obligated to have sex with anyone else.  EVER.  Eff being "joyfully available".  If you don't want to DTD, you do not have to, nor should you be forced into thinking you should!  Ugh I have the freaking willies.

Well, he learned those answers from the ATI school curriculum, no doubt. It's in there plain as day. That's a wife's duty. Period.

This was his AR profile. His DC name was something like "ReadyForThisDC."

I remember seeing the entire profile when the scandal broke, and it was sexist and xenophobic. This bit of the profile was just the tip of the iceberg.

Well, they've repeatedly used "courtships" and weddings to tease a new season of a tv show. That clearly began with Josiah and Marjorie's announcement, if not before. So if you're going to use marriage for purely commercial purposes, I guess we shouldn't be surprised that they'd use birth as well. ....

And then of course there's using the forced repression-of-the-idea-that-my-molestation-could-have-been-a-problem as a way to get back on teevee, with the Jill and Jessa interview. Plus, it was definitely said that JB used the kids as props when he was running for office. And of course they've had the kids so they'll be great in heaven, get parenting prizes on earth and have somebody to boss around for ego-building purposes.

The Duggar parents have zero love or even rudimentary sense of responsibility for their many many children. Those kids have never for one second been anything but useful pawns to them, viewer post-wedding protestations about how much JB "clearly loves his kids" notwithstanding. These two have absolutely no idea what "love' of any kind entails.

How many more times is Boob going to bail out Joshley? At some point Joshley needs to grow a pair and take care of his business, without daddy's help.  Then again Joshley can't even support the wife and blessings he was forced to have.

Not sure how the legal system works, but they have a court date in the works so I would assume he would have to agree to settle before the court date?

Yep, and they'd have to do it before a trial concludes.  However, this looks to be a civil case and those take years to wend their way through the crowded court docket.  The May date is probably for their response to the suit.  That means Josh (or his attorneys) would have to answer the initial lawsuit and provide discovery which would be documents, etc that would help the plaintiff pursue the case.  For example, they would probably want to verify basic demographic data on Josh like his date of birth and current address.  They would probably also want copies of the credit card records verifying his payments to the website and linking him to that page.  Josh's lawyer would also reply to the claim which, in almost every case, means he would deny Josh's guilt (like pleading not guilty in criminal trial); this would be routine and could be revised later. The trial itself would be years away and the dates get pushed back all the time.

The only time a civil claim like this would go to full trial within months would be for small claims court, which would set a limit on how much the plaintiff can recover, only a couple thousand bucks usually.  Josh and the Ashley Madison fiasco got national coverage and this guy's photo was plastered all over the media.  The Duggars are millionaires; no way he is going for a couple thousand bucks; couple hundred thousand more likely.  Good for him.

ETA: This is the reason Josh' house was sold ASAP.  I will presume he hasn't worked a day since he quit the FRC and went to Jesus jail and JB and M will provide documentation that they have been supporting Josh, Anna and all the kids all by themselves for the past year or so.  There is probably nothing, not an old car, not a single thing of value in Josh or Anna's name.  This will make it a lot tougher for the plaintiff and his legal team to get a substantial judgment.  However, it also is going to open the door for them to request information about the TLC contracts and payments made in the name of the adult kids over time.  The amount he was paid by the conservative political group in DC will also be made public as those should've been sources of income for Josh at the time all this stuff was going down. Chances are, JB has somehow managed to control all that money ( and perhaps still is) and I suspect he isn't going to want the world to see just how messed up he and his spawn are, let alone how much bread they've made over the years.  This could lead to a quick settlement to try to protect the gravy train.  I am sure JB consulted the legal experts the minute the scandal broke in order to protect all assets and limit the amount a plaintiff could easily obtain in the event of an adverse judgment.  I expect a bankruptcy filing from the Smuggars to come along shortly.  We know bankruptcy is against Gothard's religious principles, but giving money to other people is against Jim Bob's.

I suspect that the Duggars will try the discovery thing against this guy like they did with the escort lawsuit (and doing all they can to make sure he spends all his cash on legal fees).  I never saw her (Danica) walking away as an indication she was lying more that she couldn't afford the discovery requests thrown at her and resulting legal fees.  Jim Bob used his larger bank acct to make it go away since he could withstand a longer legal battle financially than she could.

I sued someone with my sisters last year and it was slam dunk obvious that person had done illegal shit re my fathers estate (still trying to get her arrested).  Her side dragged this out 7 months by not responding to requests, giving partial info, all requiring us spending more $ on atty fees.  The judge told us we had to try mediation before court.  We did, and settled, because her atty's threatened US with discovery and it would have cost us min $10K and we had already spent over 100K between all the legal fees.  So good cases get dropped, put aside because people run out of $.  I think that is what they are going to do to this guy.

In civil cases justice is only available to those that can afford it sadly.

The one advantage that this plaintiff has is that he apparently has no connection to Josh, never met him, was never an escort, didn't have his own Ashley Madison account.  Danica's rather colorful history was something Jim Bob's minions could exploit in order to get her to go away.  All JB's lawyers had to do was dig up a salacious detail or two in order to smear her in court.  Josh apparently found this guy's picture randomly someplace online and appropriated it.  I don't believe there is any evidence that Josh knew who he was or that the guy's presence online was anything other than legit.

In some civil cases, (ie, malpractice) where there is a fair amount of money available and getting a settlement is easier than others due to insurance, etc; lawyers will take these cases on a contingency basis which means the plaintiff only has to pay if he wins (usually a third of the judgment/settlement).  If this guy's case is strong enough and his lawyers feel like there's a good possibility of a major award, they could take the case on contingency and pursue it more aggressively than you were able to pursue yours.

I am really hoping that he is successful.  It is tiring that deeper pockets can at times skate consequences.  Shit I may even donate to a GOFUNDME for this guy to shake down the Duggars in a legitimate way!  He was an innocent just minding his own bizness when Pervy  Von Perverson stole his pic.  Go dude!

I honestly don't get the lawsuit. Catfishing goes on all the time on the internet with people using other people's pictures as their own. Is Josh getting sued because he's famous and seems to have the money? I'm asking because I watched MTV's show "Catfish," and nobody ever mentioned possible lawsuits. To be clear, I'm not defending Josh at all; I'm just curious as to why this is a civil suit situation.

ETA: So the plaintiff is claiming loss of work, public harassment, and pain and suffering, which tells me, yes, Josh is getting sued because he's famous. I'm guessing they'll settle but I think the plaintiff is just cashing in on Josh's stupidity, which is fine.

Those answers are from the questions on his OK Cupid profile.  That's the dating site he was on in Arkansas before he moved to Washington DC, where he continued the profile until he started with Ashley Madison.  On the OK Cupid profile, he claimed to be single, though he was married to Anna at the time.  So, he was basically setting up women to have sex unknowingly with a married man.  That profile was removed when the Ashley Madison scandal broke, but here are some more of the questions and answers from his OK Cupid account:

Q: Regardless of future plans, what's more interesting to you right now?

A: Sex

Q: Which of these options most closely describes what you're looking for in your next relationship?

A: Someone for tonight

Q: What is the most exciting thing about getting to know someone new?

A: Discovering their body

Q: Do you feel there are any circumstances in which a person is obligated to have sex with you?

A: Yes

Q:  What's worse on a first date?

A:  No physical attraction

Q: Are you the type of person to tell a homeless person to get a job?

A: Yes

Q:  How do you feel about government-subsidized food programs (free lunch, food stamps, etc.)?

A: Never – Get a job

Q: How often do you keep your promises?

A: Always

Q: Are you happy with your life?

A: Yes

Q:  The idea of gay and lesbian couples having children is?

A:  Unacceptable

Q: Have you been faithful in all of your past relationships?

A: No

Q: Would you need to sleep with someone before you considered marrying them?

A: Yes

Q: Have you ever tried any sexual roleplaying, such as student/teacher or patient/nurse?

A: No but it sounds interesting

Q: In terms of birth order, which are you?

A: Oldest

Yes, because a random person using your picture isn't going to have the same effect as a celebrity embroiled in a sex scandal, and there's no point in suing if the person doesn't have money to lose. Fame is a completely valid reason to sue under these circumstances (I'm a fan of lawsuits as one of the very few ways rich people are held accountable, so that's where I'm coming from. Josh didn't do anything that could lead to jail time, so if it were me I'd absolutely sue as a way to punish him.)

Thanks for posting the entire q/a list. After all this time, it still has the power to make my blood boil. Also, note that he admits to being unfaithful in his relationship (we know there is only one) before he set this account up when Anna was pregnant with Marcus (#3, not 4) back in AR.

I'm sure God is quite proud of the blessing that is Josh duggar.  I wish some interviewer would read this to boob and his idiot wife once the redemption tour starts rolling.  You know they won't miss a chance to make a buck.  And I wish they would ask them how it feels to have such a lying sack of shit for a son.

It really is stunning, isn't it? You'd think that the sheer hypocrisy of it would hit you -- Wait, I'm signing up to cheat on a hard-working mom who trusts me, and yet I'm self-righteously condemning homeless people? Huh? Maybe I'd better have kinder thoughts about other people with problems...............But apparently irony is lost on Duggars.

Oh, don't forget the poor kids who need school lunches. Get a fucking job, kiddo! (I know what is meant, but still, that's cold). I was a TA at a Catholic elementary school in which most, if not all, of the kids' parents worked, but still qualified under state standards for school lunches. By law, they didn't have to, but they provided those kids a hot lunch every day.

So yeah Joshie, most of them HAVE jobs. Some even have TWO, or are going to school at night to better themselves. Don't mess with kids, asshole. Fuck off.

He might actually be working for the twins who started flipping cars on the grass strip when Smugs was still in Jesus Jail.

Although he helped build the TTH, I don't see him as one who retained, or was interested in anything he learned through those experiences. He also seems to be a reluctant mechanic. That's probably why his lot didn't really prosper, despite the name on the marquee (it was Duggar Automotive for some time), the first go-round.

I always thought Smuggar thought he was too good for actual work -- that everything should be handed to him because he's the Holy Duggar Firstborn Son. Jim Bob is an ass, but at least he was willing to work, and work hard, when he was starting out.

With this new lawsuit, Anna gets what she deserves for staying with this pervert for the past two years.  She knew that Josh's dating site fees, dates, and the lawsuit filed by the porn star Danica Dillon cost her thousands of dollars.  Anna may have made more money this year with her TLC appearances than Josh did selling used cars.  It's going to cost them a ton of money to settle this new lawsuit about stealing someone's identity and photo on the OK Cupid profile with those particular answers to questions.  (How would you feel if someone indicated that those answers were yours and posted your photo next to them?)

Anna was really stupid not to divorce Josh two years ago, when Josh made most of the money and she was basically a stay-at-home housewife/mom.  She's not going to get much in a divorce settlement now, plus she will be responsible for 1/2 the debts.  Not to mention that she deliberately decided to get pregnant again, knowing for over a year that this new lawsuit was coming.
