I'm torn. I don't believe he's happy living in the Kingdom of God aka Jim Bob. He certainly doesn't want umpty-ump children, as Anna and, I assume, JB and M want for him. So I can see a meltdown.

On the other hand, selling used cars in rural Arkansas really is his level, in terms of his skill set, cultural background and so on. He doesn't have to spend every day worried that somebody'll call him out as a professional/intellectual fraud, as I expect he worried every day in DC. And he has to know that it's a heckuva lot easier to hold a job supplied by Jism Bob than it is to leave the family compound and seek and land a job from somebody else. And Josh and the Duggars generally are about nothing if they're not about "law of least effort." So while I can see him freaking out over the religion/"morals" aspect, I can also see him contenting himself with the situation based on the employment/paycheck aspect.

I think that Josh either has the needed dealer credential to sell cars in Arkansas, or he is working through a Duggar business entity that does. He did run that car lot in the past, so he does know something about that stuff. Also, the vehicle is on a trailer and we don't know that it was parked for display illegally, or that other vehicles were. It is possible, or likely, that the Duggs bought the vehicle at auction or wholesale and towed it home on that trailer.

Edit: one or two of the pics in the article looked to me like it was on a trailer and then offloaded. Could have been some kind of display stand, now that I looked again. Either way, I won' t get my shorts in a knot about it.

^^That's possible. But, do we know that they actually have any "beaters" - or other vehicles - for sale parked on the lawn? Or is all this an assumption based on a few photos in People magazine?

In the episode where Jinger was dabbling at buying cars at auction, they had cars lined up and for sale, with a highway shown. And I believe other pictures were posted prior to that. I got the impression the cars were parked on land they owned, not necessarily the lawn of their home. No one, including the gossip magazines, has shown a car lot, with the jeep or the red truck that had auction lettering, are ending up, but most the dealerships in my area have paved lots where they display their cars.

With the Duggars however, you never know what is staged or exaggerated though.

Josh is insulated and cozy in the family and bible-believing cult. He has been since the Ashley Madison thing had him sent to RU. But, how long can he endure these Orwellian conditions? Even if Anna smiles, it might just make him want to punch a wall when she checks his social media. It works for him right now, but how long will it last. 

At least he is doing something worthwhile to contribute to his family. He probably does some renovations for the house flipping Duggar income stream as well. Funny that he could end up making a living out of a punishment he started as a 'young boy'. 

I really want Josh to leave and get his M&M's out of the cult.

I agree - in that episode, I recall one of the Duggars also saying that they were selling cars on a piece of property (land?) that JBoob owns.

 I agree. Somehow I don't see him doing it, though. For some reason he reads as essentially a weakling and a coward to me. I hope he proves that a wrong impression. It'd be better for him and for everybody else if he just walked away from all of them, I think. Anna'll never leave him otherwise, I expect.

They've really relaxed the skirt length, and although they don't show skin, they have great pride in their preggo tummies and squeeze into clothing to focus on their 'accomplishment'. (Usually framed by their husbands hands). Modesty standards have changed for males and females, yay. I think Josh looks fine in shorts and t-shirt and glad he now has that option. Hope we never see him swimming in pants again.

I can think of three locations: the "original" lot that Smuggar took over from Boob, the Taco lot, then the larger location that the family friend ended up taking over when Smuggar moved to DC.

I think a reason behind the changes in the lot locations were due to the bank closing the leases on the lot. Knowing Josh, he probably was too lazy to properly run the car lots his daddy owned. I bet he is not working too hard now either. He probably is expecting another political based job because people will forgive him for his cheating on his wife and watching porn one day.

Well, we know that no business currently operates under the name of Duggar Automotive, but could they be operating a lot under a different name that goes beyond the cars we were shown lined up on that grassy strip of land (owned by Boob) beside a highway? Is there any way to look up Boob's name to see if he operates any businesses in his county (the name of which I can't recall) or Benton County, which I believe is the neighboring county containing Bentonville and Rogers? 

Because you KNOW that Boob has set something up for his Prodigal Son. He may resent Josh for ruining 19 Kids, but he can't admit failure, because that would mean his entire lifestyle is rubbish. Our general policy is that users should not re-post images from private social media accounts here. I know it's hard to tell whether someone's account is private if you follow them - the best thing to do is log out of that social media site (or just open a private window) and then try to access the link, to check.  This isn't something the mods will do on all images - we ask that you guys police yourselves on this. In this case, yes, we'd ask that those images get edited out, but I'm not going to go back and hide all the posts - I'll give people the chance to edit.  Thanks for respecting the privacy of the Duggar-related folks!

No doubt emotional ties are very strong and it must be tough for her to think there's going to be anyone else for her since she was brought up to believe that there was only to be one person for you and divorce under any circumstance was such a big no-no in her world.
